Penumbra's face is shaped as an inverted triangle; with gaunt, deep-set eyes, high cheekbones, and a pointed chin. Her body shape is somewhat androgynous, lacking in breast size. Her hair is dark black, reaching just at her shoulders and framing her dark brown eyes.



Umbra’s body shape is somewhat curvaceous, but has no discernible feature beyond her piercing blue eyes and claws that replace her fingers. Her flesh is pitch black, resembles the night sky itself.

Her hair appears to merely be a shifting portion of her body. The hair occassionally shifts over the icy blue eyes, giving the impression of a shadow glazing over her body. When smiling, it reveals an eerie, pearly white grin.




Lux is the opposite. He appears masculine, heavily built, and stands at a tall 6’5 in height. He’s dressed in a fine suit, and his face is impossible to properly look upon. (Appearing as a literal white circle, with a shadowy outline)

Clothing: Neither Umbra and Lux wear clothing; as they have no need for it.

Penumbra, on the other hand, wears a set of relatively baggy trousers that often drag beneath her boots. Her right brow is pierced a total of three times, while her left ear has three loops going up from the lobe.

Weapon(s): Penumbra has an odd familiar that resembles a literal walking shadow; it takes on the form of a feline, with a pair of elongated horns. The only discernible portion of the creature is its malicious grin that spreads from ear to ear (if it were to have any), as well as the blank, red eyes.


Personality: Umbra is hyperactive and manic, as opposed to Lux. She generally pushes and asserts her will over everything (despite Lux being capable of easily overwhelming her) and almost always rushes in for her own amusement. Despite her manic disposition, she's cold and calculating, capable of keeping herself several steps ahead of the opposition.

Umbra's jovial and talkative demeanor almost always surfaces when she finds a potential play date. She often jokes and delights in dark humor, finding hilarity in things most consider morally wrong.

Unlike Lux, she prefers a more physical approach to torture. While she does enjoy playing and toying with the mind of others, she will generally spend her time swatting away at her victim until they’re left in a vegetative state, rather than talk them to death.


Lux is far more aloof than Umbra; often choosing to sleep and remain fused with his partner at all times. He's cold, calculating, and a brilliant strategist; capable of keeping himself SEVERAL steps ahead of his targets. Unfortunately, he’s just as sadistic; but is far more soft spoken about his ‘dark side’.

Lux takes on a more mental approach, and revels in picking at his victim’s mind piece by painful piece. He will often target those important to them rather than the victim himself, with intent on shattering their mind and reducing them to nothing but a sad sack of life.


When the two come together; their personalities blend together in a way. Lux’s side makes her much more aloof and calculating, while Umbra’s side simply sharpens the sadism.
