  51. ✧ON AND ON
  52.
  53. —Personality: How would you react at getting your butt severely kicked by a girl? Mind your answer, because that’s YeonHwa’s personal motto. Being young and reckless has never been more painful –for those who had the bad luck to cross this girl’s same path, in their life. Don’t get fooled by her smiles and loud laughs. The spark in the corner of her eyes should be warning you enough that at any wrong move, you’ll possibly pass out by being knocked out on the floor. YeonHwa is a very weird kid and it’s not just what her brother thinks of her. A bit of a lunatic who likes to appear like she’s on a permanent sugar rush one moment, the second right after she can roast you for good with just one word. She never liked authorities and barely followed any rule, even when she attended high school. To be honest, the most of the time she spent in that building, she was sitting in the garden by the capped old tree, smoking a cigarette and basically looking at the clear blue sky. YeonHwa isn’t much of a diligent person, really. She never cared to learn anything that she didn’t consider interesting –which were just Korean Literature and English. She just likes to laugh at people’s jokes –the lamer, the better- and reply with sarcasm so bitterly that it resembles battery acid.
  54.
  55. A natural born confronter, she always needs to have the last word in arguments –even when she’s on the wrong side of them. She’s mostly convinced that the world spins the way she decides it to, and she just gets rid of those who doesn’t agree with her point of view with a sinister smile. That’s scary enough to shut every different opinion. Is she childish? Yes, of course. She’s extremely self-centered and doesn’t know how to let things go and to develop a more objective point of view. But she’s still so young. The only things that appear to matter, in her life, are martial arts and her friends, the gang. To them, she is the most loyal and reliable person, the kind of girl that smiles a lot and makes noise and rumble just for the sake of lifting people’s moods. She rarely replies sarcastically with her friends, and she almost never laid a finger on them. Because they are like family. But all of them are well aware of YeonHwa’s lunatic side and they often tend to turn a blind eye on her childish behavior. Even Belle did so.

  116. ✧BURN BABY BURN
  117.
  118. —Background : YeonHwa grew up with her elder brother and their grandparents in a little village in Busan. Their parents were always out of the country, overcharging themselves with work to provide their family with money, because they were rather poor. The two kids grew up without knowing anything of the actual world. They didn’t have electricity nor running water. YeonHwa had to put a big jar on top of her head and had to try her best not to make all the water from the river fall down, on her way back home. And her elder brother had to learn everything about edible roots and poisonous fruits that grew up in the forest. Their grandparents tried their best to raise them with a proper education, but none of them could read or write and so the kids never did, too. Until, at the age of 10 (and her brother 15), YeonHwa and JoonHyuk had to move to Seoul, because their parents managed to afford a house with enough rooms to take them in. They sadly left the village, knowing nothing about the city and all the new environment they would have been put in. Actually, the girl firmly opposed herself, even grasping her grandmother’s long skirt in her tight grip, crying. But there was no way to leave her there, both of them had to go to Busan to live with their parents. And that was where they had to face a new world.
  119.
  120. They coughed a lot when they came to the city, the first time, because of all the smog. All the new sounds and lights scared the life out of YeonHwa and her brother had to act cool while he was being terrified, too. Despite all of that, they soon became acquainted with running water, showers, the magic tricks that the switches did every time they had to turn a light on and off. Being able to have lights on even after the sunset –and without using candles- was some sort of miracle. YeonHwa cried when she heard a pop song playing on the radio for the first time. Suddenly, living in the city was not so scary anymore. It was a whole new world to discover, every day. And the girl was happy. She didn’t even realized how poor their family was, until she came to school for the first time. All the other’s little girls’ dresses were so pretty and tidy, but hers was rather worn out, and its colors where mostly fading. She wasn’t even able to read or write, and panicked when the teacher asked her to write her name on the chalkboard. Lately, the same teacher would eventually understand her conditions and would ask the little girl to stay in class for the afternoon, just to teach her how to read or write, as an “extracurricular activity”, as she had to say to her parents. But, even with the help of the kind teacher, YeonHwa was evidently late on the program, while her classmates were all very competitive and not that friendly.
  121.
  122. When she was 14, her classmates started to bully her. For her poor dresses, for her misspelled sentences or mispronounced words. They even started to beat her and she tried her best to pay them back, but she was too short and thin to even aim a punch correctly. She slowly lost interest in school and apprehending, noticing that it would have been useless anyway. Her parents were still never home for work, and JoonHyuk never believed any of the excuses she always told him, such as “I fell”, “I got accidentally hit by the ball during gymnastics” and so on. YeonHwa was slowly growing sick of that situation, of her inability to give them everything back and to take all the punches and kicks. That’s how one day, with her lip swollen and blood stains on her dress, she came across a gym. And saw people wearing white suits. And they were fighting. But it wasn’t like what the bullies in her school usually did to her. That kind of fighting was polite. Almost elegant. She entered without even noticing and shyly asked for any information. She then came to know the taekwondo and decided straight away that it could save her. But she needed an adult approval to sign the papers and, most of all, signing in costed money. Actual money. And she knew her family couldn’t afford that. But she had to try anyway. She couldn’t take that situation anymore. As soon as she came back home, she talked to JoonHyuk about it. About everything. And the boy almost was on the verge of going out to kick those punks back to reason, but he did something better, instead. He took her sister right away to the gym, signed the papers and paid for the registration with his own money, the wons that he earned in teaching maths to the kids in their neighborhood. Without telling anything to their parents, YeonHwa took taekwondo lessons.
  123.
  124. She soon became the most gifted fighter in her class and even reached the 1st dan in two or three years. But, most of all, she got her revenge on her bullies. And earned the surname of “Busan Double Axe” and, now that she could defend herself properly, a quite violent temper, despite what her master always taught her –that martial arts never occurred to attack, but to defend. Either way, she abandoned the taekwondo class as soon as she turned 17, with great disappointment of both her master and her brother. But joined something different, instead. The gang.

  134. ✧LOOK AT ME NOW
  135.
  136. —How did you join the gang: while she was casually walking in her neighborhood, YeonHwa happened to spot a bully being mean to a kid. The boy was clearly 21 years old or less, and was gripping this kid of maximum 14 years by his shirt, smiling in a sinister way. She understood that the situation wouldn’t have been better and she decided to join them. She screamed at the boy, who immediately recognized her as the “Busan Double Axe” and laughed at her, saying that no girl could ever kick a man’s butt. Well, he got that wrong. YeonHwa broke his nose and, most importantly, his pride. Making him flee in pain and then telling the kid to go take some martial arts’ lessons, so he wouldn’t have a girl kicking butts for him again. But then, another boy showed up, clapping his hands at YeonHwa. She had never saw him before. He introduced himself and asked who she was, obtaining a resentful silence. YeonHwa never liked talking to strangers, letting alone the fact that some weird boy could appear right in front of her face, with the calmest smile and clapping hands. It was too odd to be good. She refused to introduce herself and the guy nodded. He also said that he could understand that he was rushing things, so he proposed a bet. “If I beat you, you’ll do one thing for me”, he said to her, calmly. And YeonHwa replied “what if you don’t?”. “I’m leaving you alone, you’ll never heard of me again. Ever”. “Deal”.
  137.
  138. That’s how they fought for real. The boy was stronger and quicker than all the bullies in her neighbor. Plus, he seemed very skilled and his fighting moves resembled the ones of her master. YeonHwa had a really rough time in knocking him out, and almost never managed to catch a blind spot in his guard. He didn’t know the stranger was an expert in Hapkido, she’d never saw him in her whole life. YeonHwa was so sure she would have won that she put up a dumbfounded look, when she found herself on the ground with the foot of the guy pressed on her stomach. He had beaten her without even noticing. One moment she was up, fighting at her best, the second later it was all over. She had lost.
  139.
  140. For the first time since she started to practice at the gym, not a single guy in her same class ever managed to knock her out. She was a demon, a quick poltergeist that squished out of the grip of her enemies like water from a human hand. But that boy was stronger than her. Tired as hell, panting and sweating, he still had that calm smile on his face, as he removed the foot off her stomach and offered the girl a hand, to help her stood up. YeonHwa looked at that hand in astonishment, and then grasped it firmly, letting the stranger helping her lifting her body up. And then, she asked “you’d beaten me. What do you want from me?”. The guy replied “to join my girlfriend’s gang. They need somebody like you”. As soon as she heard the word “gang”, YeonHwa tightly refused and shook her head. She would have never done the same things she was beating people for. Being in a gang? To do what? Rob banks or scare the life out of kids to take their cellphones? Never. But the boy reminded her that she promised, and he could have asked her anything. Her warrior pride screamed in response to that indirect call, as she gave another resented look at that boy’s face. He was still smiling. And he kept on doing that, especially when she spit a “fine, whatever” out of her teeth, letting the boy take her to his girlfriend. Belle.
  141.
  142.
  143. —Why did you join the gang?: She never wanted it in the first place, but she lost a fight with Belle’s boyfriend and she had to grant him one wish in return. She hated the idea of being part of something like that, but deep inside she was a bit thrilled by the news. She was also fascinated by the figure of that tall stranger who had enough nerve and strength to beat her and a sudden curiosity of knowing his significant others urged inside of her. As soon as the boy introduced her to the other girls, a couple of them already knew her by her glorious nickname and one of them was rather afraid to talk to her (Mulan). But Belle immediately welcomed her and showed her kindness and a deep warm smile, reassuring her that they would have never done anything bad such as bullying innocent kids. As long as they wouldn’t have been provoked on purpose.
  144.
  145. Day by day, YeonHwa learned that “the gang” was actually a group of misfit young girls and Belle’s boyfriend. Each one of those girls was broken on the inside for a reason, and found the glue to make all the pieces together by being there with the others. Cinderella always told her that society thought that they were a bunch of wasted spaces, brains and lives, because they weren’t good at what the system designed them to: studying, behaving, being nice or beautiful. Each one of them lacked in something and because of that had been outed by the world. YeonHwa felt the resonance of those words deeply inside, because they brought back all of her past of being bullied for not being rich enough, smart enough, quick enough. And then, she started to see the gang and its components with brand new eyes. She started to see them as “actual people” and not “evil entities”. Eventually growing even a lot closer to Rapunzel, because of her troubled relationship with her family and her sarcastic way of taking life.
  146.
  147.
  148. —Your role in the gang?: The muscle. She is the one who always backs Rapunzel up as she distracts people. Actually, the two of them are a very scary duo, because one would act like she’s permanently drunk and catch all the attention with her personality and funny stories, and the other would scare the life out of people with her creepy smile and the way she puts her hands in her pockets, like a thug. She’s not that great at making plans nor breaking and entering, because she’s a bit clumsy and too manly to squish in slight openings. But she does know how to intimidate people or to force them to talk by scaring them with some harmless -but effective- moves of taekwondo.
  149.
  150. —Your reason behind avenging Belle's death?: She cared a lot for her, because Belle was like a mother that would’ve always been there for her (which her actual one didn’t). Plus, she feels guilty towards her, because she also fell in love with Belle’s boyfriend, but never got the courage to tell him –and even because she respected Belle too much to be a bitch with her. Furthermore, she doesn’t understand why such a vital and calm person should have ended her life in such a violent and sudden way. Most that avenging her death, she would like to know the true reasons behind it –and she’s tenacious enough to find them.

  160. —How they met:
  161. YeonHwa sneaked in the garden and hid herself in a bush. Then, she tried to pick the lock on the tracking device around her leg with a fork she stole at the cafeteria. But she just ended up by breaking the fork and cursing out loud (yes, that’s your same intro for this slot, I decided to start from this point). Defeated by life, she got up and rummaged her pockets, in order to find the cigarettes and lighter she stole from one of the inattentive nurses that worked there. As she found a cigarette, she put it between her lips, cupping her hands around the lighter, to preserve the tiny flame from the warm wind of September, and lighted up the extremity. She gladly took a mouthful of grey smoke and walked around the trees, in the blind spot away from the hidden cameras of the place. As soon as she sat under an ancient tree, a voice sounded from behind.
  162. “You shouldn’t be smoking, here”.
  163. She was startled and quickly looked at her back and saw the young, good looking patient that claimed to have robbed a bank and hijacked a car. Yeah sure. With that fresh face. As if. YeonHwa rolled her eyes and just turned away, taking another puff, like nothing happened.
  164. “Didn’t you hear me?” Asked the boy, impudently sitting next to her and giving her an interested look. She exhaled the grey smoke and gave a little nudge to the cigarette, scrolling the cinder away. She shrugged, saying “whatever, kiddo”. The boy smirked and shook his head.
  165. “I’m older than you”.
  166. “Nice to know”.
  167. “At least, you could offer me a drag”.
  168. YeonHwa just gave a plain look at the boy, breathing out the smoke right in front of his face. Then, she just gave him the whole cigarette and got up, shaking the grass off of her pants with her hands.
  169. “What, are you leaving?” Asked the boy, putting the cigarette between his lips, at the right corner of his mouth. The girl just nodded, without saying a word.
  170. “I’m Jeon JungKook, by the way” he introduced himself, and YeonHwa just looked at him.
  171. “When?”
  172. “Since I was born…?”
  173. “I meant ‘when did I ask you for your name’?” she replied, giving him a slightly amused smirk and then turning her back on him, walking away. He was just looking dumbfounded at her, shocked by that sarcastic reply. The girl was sly. He liked that, he thought, exhaling the smoke from her cigarette.
  174.
  175.
  176. Interactions-
  177.
  178. —Beginning: as I read in the slot description, he would be quite the flirt with her, by using smooth or even lame pick-up lines, obtaining just eye-rolls or smirks, or “cut it off, unless you want me to kick you back to your room”. They would still be “accidentally” meeting in the garden, as she would sneak out to smoke and he would be following her and show at her back startling her every time. She would be teasing him, calling him “stalker”, because he seems to appear like everywhere she is. He would be using some cheesy sentence taken from the worst teeth-rotting anime for teenagers (yes, he watches those, too) and she would almost choke on her saliva in the middle of the sentence. Because she would be knowing that anime and she would almost finish the sentence in his place. They would then be naming a few anime or mangas and they would discover that they have a quite similar taste. But, as soon as the girl would be enjoying the conversation, she would cut it out by simply going away. Mumbling that she has better things to do than waste her time with the Looser Lupin from the Sharing Group (the group where everybody talks about their crimes, some sort of AA for criminals). But he would stand up and grab her by the arm, saying “I need you to punch me to make you consider me as a proper man?” and shone his brightest smile at her. Flashing her mind and eyes and leaving her rather shocked.
  179.
  180. —Middle: in the morning, he would be showing up at her room, being smooth and sunny and smiley and she would be throwing her pillows at him to make him go away. But, lately, she would be tolerating his presence a bit more, even if she would be forcing herself not to grow closer to him, due to the gangs’ plan to break out. But days will pass and they would inevitably grow closer to each other, sharing cigarettes and making otaku-related puns that only the two of them would actually understand. Rapunzel would notice her closeness to the boy and would desperately start to ship them all the way. But Cinderella wouldn’t like how things would be sorting and she would suggest her to leave him or not to talk to him. YeonHwa would nod and agree, but deep inside she knew that it won’t be easy. She would even try to do as Cinderella suggested, by interposing some distances between her and JungKook, but the boy would smartly understand the true reason behind her coldness. He would be saying her that he is totally cool with the gang, that he even stanned them before going to the rehab and that he would be happy to be their friends, too (super sly JungKook getting Undercover Cop of the year award). She would be internally struggling between leaving him be, as Cinderella said, or actually introduce him to the girls, because she had been noticing that the boy would pop up in her mind more than she would’ve actually wanted. She would introduce him to Rapunzel anyway, and she would befriend him from the start, being absolutely friendly and naïve.
  181.
  182. —End: time will pass and their relationship would turn in a kind of skinny love, where she secretly cares for him and him is obviously so in love with her that you could read it in his eyes. All the girls would be knowing him, but some of them (Aurora, Cinderella and Mulan) wouldn’t still trust him, keeping their distances from him. From time to time, YeonHwa would open up with him, telling him about their plans to break out and even discuss them with Rapunzel. JungKook would be helping them to sort a plan out, studying the most effective way of breaking out without creating any fuss (and obviously later on passing everything to his own crew of police-partners). They would also set up a date, but in that particular day, the boy would come up with something to keep her away from the gang. And the girl would know that she may be doing the wrong thing, but she’s been feeling so good lately, and she’s been also asking herself whether to be still a part of the gang, or just letting it all go. Because Belle isn’t there anymore and her debt with her boyfriend has been extinguished long enough. So, she would remain with JungKook, as he would be taking her somewhere else in the building, saying that he sorted that out of the plan with Rapunzel and that she had to trust him. The girl would do as he said, but something will happen and the other girls wouldn’t be breaking out that night (because maybe one of Kookie’s mighty friends would just get in the way to prevent the great escape?). But it’s clear to YeonHwa that getting out of that place to go rob a diamond wasn’t something that she would have wanted for herself. It was Belle and Cinderella’s dream, not hers. That’s why she would be calling herself out of the gang, making Rapunzel questioning her staying too, while the others would put up a scene in her room, because of her choice. But she would stay still in her beliefs, saying that robbing a diamond has never been a priority for her and asking Cinderella why would she still care so much for that, when even Belle gave it up.

  194. ♦ She asking him to sleep with her on rainy days because of how scared she is of thunders (don’t worry, they would just cuddle and actually sleep).
  195. ♦ Him getting jealous about how she would blush at JimIn’s looks.
  196. ♦ Him and her ruining a bush that TaeHyung shaped hardly just for the sake of hearing him swear in Daegu dialect.
  197.
  198. —Scene requests:
  199. ♦ Surely the one that I described as their first meeting.
  200. ♦ JungKook putting on the mask of Aogaeru from Spirited Away and going to YeonHwa’s room to wake her up, but ending in scaring her so much that she’d punch him right away. Only to discover that she almost broke the nose of his-soon-to-be boyfriend.
  201. ♦ One of the first times they would meet, he would be threatening her to tell the nurses that she’s the cigarette stealer if she wouldn’t want to share them with him. And she grumpily shares them with him.
  202. ♦ The first time they would be attending Sharing Group together, she would almost burst to laugh while he would be listing his “committed crimes”.

  206. ✧PLAYING WITH FIRE
  207.
  208. —Scene requests II:
  209. ♦ Rapunzel and YeonHwa dancing to some Big Bang song in Rapunzel’s room and dragging Pocahontas with them, too.
  210. ♦ YeonHwa almost blabbering and not knowing how to speak as JimIn would ask her what she’d like to eat and she would end up by blushing and removing herself from the queue, refusing to eat (but Rapunzel would be ordering double portions for her, too).
  211. ♦ Mulan asking a cigarette to YeonHwa and the girl would be looking at her in shock, thinking that she was against smoking and self-damaging. But she would be answering “this place is hell, I need to de-stress or I’ll be in distress”, leaving her completely dumbfounded by her pun.
  212. ♦ Aurora falling asleep in yoga class and YeonHwa waking her up with a kick in her butt and she screaming “SNOW WHITE TOOK THE LAST SLICE OF CAKE, I DIDN’T”, startling the whole class.
  213. ♦ YeonHwa pissing TaeHyung off big time by hiding herself behind his trashly shaped bushes just to smoke.
  214.
  215.
  216. —Anything else?: I guess “Victorious” by Panic! at The Disco would fit better YeonHwa’s attitude and even her glorious times with the gang.
  217.
  218. —A message to me: I like the whole girl gang!au and the undercover cops idea, but I have tricky question for you. What if Belle didn’t kill herself, but was forced to jump by somebody else…? Dun dun dun. Food for thoughts, just think about it. I had this thought by reading her character slot and I thought “why would she kill herself right before the heist of the year?”. And that’s what I thought of.
  219. Well, another thing I have to say: I’m a waaaaaay superstitious person and I’m definitely not comfortable in applying for planned-to-die characters or death ones. So, if I shouldn’t make the cut for my slot and even for the back-up, but you should happen to like my form, please, don’t make me Belle. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with that. I’d rather be a side character, even another patient or a nurse, or nothing at all, I would still read and support the story because I like the plot! Thank you and sorry! ):
  220. Plus, I’m not an English native speaker, so I apologize for any grammar mistakes you may happen to find here and there!
