Tanelorn - New Custom Server with nearly EVERYTHIN

[B]Tanelorn.hopto.org - new 8.5 protocol (yes, you can use YATC) server in creation mode.  The web site is up, but the server is still in creation mode, so creating accounts or characters at this time would be futile.[/B]

I wrote up a description and put it in the Advertisement thread but it was deleted, and as there's so many features, I might forget them and then come back and edit my post to put them in as I remember...

[B]Tanelorn Server is a new type of OT.[/B]  There are no runes or spells.  There are activation phrases and phrase modules.  Everything has been (for lack of a better word) sci-fi-fantasized.  Magic shield is not a magic shield.  It is a force field and can be activated by saying [I]'force field activated'[/I].  All of the phrases are worded to actually portray what they are, instead of the latin-based mumbo jumbo Tibia created instead of using phrases that were more easily remembered.  I can't tell you how many times I had to continue using the wiki just to find them... There is a whole story-line behind the server, which is detailed on the Server Info page on the website (tanelorn.hopto.org)  There are no knights, sorcerers, druids, or paladins, or complaints about being unbalanced either.  [B]There is only one vocation, BUT that one vocation gains hp like a knight, mana(now vigor) like a druid, capacity like a knight, and gains distance skill like a paladin, melee skills like a knight, and ml(vigor level) like a druid, etc etc etc.[/B]  I've taken all the best characteristics from all 4 previous vocations and made one that can do more than all 4 could.  [B]Now you have one vocation which can handle all weapon types, all equipment, and can use all activation phrases!  [/B]

[B]There's more[/B]...There are custom high tech weapons such as energy orbs, death ray guns, solar ray guns, frost tube rifles, and more, that have their own custom sprites as well.  The whole server is also based around the above mentioned story-line, which means all the quests are related to that story-line, and in addition to that, you can choose your own path throughout the quest, with your own ending.  There are custom raids activated by levers (which you'll have to find) which are quite profitable, but can only be activated once a day or so.  (i.e. You flipped a lever in the lighthouse which extinguished all the lights and begins a pirate raid that includes custom loot.)

[B]There's more[/B]...I've added farming to the list of available activities on the server.  You may buy plant seeds, plant shoots, and tree seeds, plant them, gain experience, and then harvest, gain experience, and sell your grown goods to an NPC for profit.  If you'd rather plant and harvest to level up instead of run around hitting things, you can choose that path as well.  It's a Frontierville - Farmville - meets heavily modified Tibia experience.  Farm plots will be available for this.

[B][I]There's more yet[/I][/B]...The map is completely custom, with towns such as The Red Death, an abandoned shipwrecked cruise ship which is a livable area (houses/cabins) with a merchant ship nearby for selling loot from creatures on the lower levels of the ship.  There is an immense castle which is a town as well as a merchant center for both NPCs and players to showcase their goods and trade with the local citizenry, as well as a center for many quests and secret passages to other areas of the world.

In conclusion for the moment, Tanelorn is a game experience like no other OT.  It runs on a TFS server with modified code that relates to the new vigor level instead of the old ML and uses different wording for other activities that reflect the true meaning on Tanelorn.

I've been working on this project for the last couple months on the side, as I'm a professional website designer/programmer on an 8 to 5 basis.  I created a small private OT some years back but wasn't able to do much with it hardware-wise, but I'm back with a new and fresh concept for OT.  I'll continue posting screenshots and more notes as I continue on this project.
