  1. GOOD ITEMS TO SHOP FOR:
  2.
  3.
  4. CONSUMABLES:
  5. Fenix Down and Sleeping Bag are essential for most runs.
  6. Warp Stones drastically speed up some checks and can be used to escape fights.
  7. Smoke Bombs can be used to escape fights and are cheaper than Warp Stones.
  8. Revivify is irreplacable, but usually you don't need more than 11.
  9. Remedy is good to have but usually don't need more than a few.
  10. Elemental Skeans are incredible with a Throw user.
  11. Shuriken are good but cheap enough to just buy on sight.
  12. Ninja Stars are incredible with a Throw user.
  13. Tack Stars are good with a Throw user but very pricey.
  14. A handful of Potions are nice earlygame.
  15. A single Dried Meat is required for Gau's check.
  16. X-Potions and Elixirs are costly, but can be useful in the final battle if healing is scarce.
  17.
  18.
  19. WEAPONS:
  20. ValiantKnife is the best weapon in the game for raw damage potential.
  21. Ragnarok and Illumina are overwhelmingly powerful, just don't jump or use Offering with them.
  22. Fixed Dice is overwhelmingly powerful with Offering or Dragon Horn, albeit inconsistent.
  23. AtmaWeapon is comparable to ValiantKnife's power, but demands high level.
  24. Pearl Lance and Aura Lance are the best weapons to Jump with.
  25. Sniper is fairly strong; backrow friendly and boosted on endgame fliers.
  26. Fire Rod, Ice Rod, Thunder Rod can be massed and broken.
  27. Pearl Rod is basically a holy hand grenade.
  28. Enhancer gives a considerable +7 Magic in mainhand (same as Magus Rod).
  29. Imp Halberd can substitute for the other spears if you have Imp.
  30.
  31.
  32. ARMOR:
  33. Paladin Shield blocks all elements, but is usually not able to be found.
  34. Minerva and Red Jacket give Fire immunity in chest slot.
  35. All three elemental shields block Merton, teach spells, and can be broken.
  36. Cat Hoods give some resists, but more importantly they double GP drops.
  37. Magus Hats are dirt cheap and give a small Magic boost.
  38. Force Shields give outrageous magic defense. Pricey though.
  39. Snow Muffler enables physical immunity for most characters. Pricey though.
  40. Mirage Vests give automatic Image, which is useful in challenging seeds.
  41. Imp's Armor, Tortoise Shield, and Titanium all teach Imp and give Imps actual defense.
  42. Huge defense if you can stack all three on an Imp.
  43. Gaia Gear enables Quake for healing, and may be key if you intend to fight unscaled dragons at a low level.
  44.
  45.
  46. RELICS:
  47. Earrings give stacking bonuses to all magic damage. They're quite significant.
  48. Atlas Armlet gives a similar (but non-stacking) bonus to physical damage.
  49. Hero Rings give both but are rather pricey, so prefer buying Earrings or Atlas if possible.
  50. Dragoon Boots are good with most weapons; jumping is x1.5 damage, x2 with a spear.
  51. Dragoon Horn makes jumping viable into endgame.
  52. Offering is great for physical damage.
  53. Genji Glove is the biggest weapon damage boosting relic if you have enough weapons to use it effectively.
  54. Gauntlet gives a very significant bonus to weapon damage, though outclassed by Genji if you have enough good weapons.
  55. Hyper Wrist gives a small bonus to physical damage, but can be used alongside Atlas to strengthen Throw and Quadra Slice.
  56. True Knight is dirt cheap and helpful in endgame alongside a ValiantKnife user.
  57. Blizzard Orb enables Merton from the relic slot.
  58. Rage Ring enables Merton from the relic slot, and also makes Umaro a little better.
  59. Cursed Ring teaches X-Zone, useful in some challenge seeds.
  60. Beads gives a flat 50% to avoid physical attacks after Evade; useful in challenge seeds.
  61. Wall Rings give incredible value if enemy abilities aren't scaled.
  62. Merit Award can make useful items equippable if nobody is able to yet, but is pricey.
  63.
  64.
  65. DO NOT BUY: (usually)
  66. Gold Hairpin: Way too expensive; just slot two Earrings and the damage boost will make it so you have to cast fewer spells.
  67. Economizer: Outrageously expensive.
  68. Gem Box: Though technically more potent than Earrings, it's costly, increases delay, and slows you down with animations. Also guzzles MP.
  69. Excalibur, Sky Render, Strato, Gradeus, Stunner, Striker, all claws: They're bad.
  70. Ribbon: Too passive to use for a relic slot. If you want someone to hold the Cursed Shield, either find them a Peace Ring or just make them strip. Won't even prevent every status in this game (Stop and Freeze ignore it!).
