  1. Sharing a Windows PC's Internet Connection / Using the PC as a Wireless Modem
  2.
  3.
  4. If you have a wireless network (W.I.F.I.) or mobile broadband and want to connect a device or another PC that does not support W.I.F.I. or mobile broadband you can use I.C.S. (Internet Connection Sharing) to share your Internet connection between your PC with Internet access and the device or PC without Internet access.
  5.
  6. First You need to click on the network icon, which is located on the right of your task bar or or bottom right of your screen. That should bring up this box.
  7.
  8.
  9. Then you need to "Network and Sharing Center" That should bring up this window.
  10.
  11.
  12. After that you need to click "Manage Network Connections" , which is located in the left task bar. That should bring up this window.
  13.
  14.
  15. Now you need to right click on the internet connection you are using and select "properties". For example, if you want to share a Wireless Network Connection, like I am, you need to right click on "Wireless Network Connection" and select "properties"
  16.
  17.
  18.
  19. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will see a "User Account Control" dialog box saying "Windows needs your permission to continue" You need to click "Continue"
  20.
  21. Now you should see the "Whatever Network Connection Properties" dialog box. If you want to share a Wireless Network Connection, like me, you should see the "Wireless Network Connection" Dialog Box, which is the exact same dialog box as shown below.
  22.
  23.
  24. Next you need to click on the "Sharing" Tab, which is located at the top. After that you should see this.
  25.
  26.
  27. Now, you need to check the first square, "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection", and if you want to share your internet connection with a gaming console like the Xbox 360 you may also want to check the second square, "Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection", as well. Checking the second square allows the device or other PC you want to share your internet connection with to forward ports automatically, which is a good thing especially if you want to share an Internet connection with an Xbox 360 to connect to Xbox Live.
  28.
  29. After that you need to click "OK"
  30.
  31. Finally, you need to run an Ethernet cable between your PC and the device or other PC you want to share your internet cable with.
