  1. Well recently I had to go to a therapist due to some problems I had been having with a relationship ending.

  3. Anyways when I was there I was given a paper that has "Merry Mottos" on them and I would like to share them as they really helped me with coping with my break up.

  5. Repeat the following affirmations as often as necessary to begin to feel better about yourself.
  6. I live a day at a time, do first things first.
  7. I have the same importance as everyone else as a person.
  8. I have positive thoughts about myself.
  9. I am the author of my own life.
  10. I am unique; I do the best I can - no one can ask for more.
  11. My number-one responsibility is my well-being and continuing to grow in wisdom.
  12. I refuse to let the opinions of others keep me depressed or anxious.
  13. I make my own decisions and assume responsibility for any mistakes. I will refuse to feel lingering shame or guilt.
  14. I am peaceful and patient since I have the rest of my life in which to grow.
  15. I expect life to offer me both positive and negative learning experiences since I am learning how to manage both.
  16. My mistakes (non-successes) do not make me stupid, a loser, or whatever. They only prove that I am imperfect, which is human. There is certainly nothing wrong with being human.
  17. I cannot control the things that will happen to me, but I can control the attitude I have toward these things. Both my personal well-being and my suffering depend on my attitude.

  20. These saying have really helped me and get through my bad break up. I hope they'll help at least one other member as well.
