  1. [19:55] Nicholas Philly "alright let's get right to it then, Mr. Weylyn we're here tonight for your interview for the Position of Officer with the Cedar Creek Police Department, This interview will be recorded for review by the hiring board should the recommendation to hire be made. Do you agree to have this conversation recorded for that purpose?"
  2. [19:56] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) nods "Yes I do"
  3. [19:59] Nicholas Philly nods taking the recorder out of the desk drawer and clicking the record button, "okay so Why do you want to work in Law Enforcement?"
  4. [20:00] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes a second to think and then answers "I want to serve and protect the community I live in"
  5. [20:01] Nicholas Philly nods and takes a quick note "okay so Mr. Weylyn can you tell us a little about yourself?"
  6. [20:04] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) nods "I'm a very easy going guy, but serious when I need to be. I love telecommunications and radio equipment and electronics. Im very dedicated and trustworthy and if someone tells me something to keep a secret, no one else will know"
  7. [20:04] Nicholas Philly takes a few more notes "Have you role played in Law Enforcement before?"
  8. [20:05] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) nods "I have in multiple positions from cadet to Sheriff"
  9. [20:06] Nicholas Philly continues "What do you think of your previous chief(s)?"
  10. [20:07] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes a second to think "I held a high respect for them, even if I disagreed with them. I enjoyed working with them all though"
  11. [20:10] Nicholas Philly "Have you ever used medications or drugs that were not prescribed to you by a doctor or used them in a manner in which they were not prescribed, including the use of any recreational drugs?"
  12. [20:10] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) shakes his head "No"
  13. [20:11] Nicholas Philly nods and takes some notes before proceeding "How would your friends describe you?"
  14. [20:12] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes a minute to think about that "Outgoing and cheerful"
  15. [20:12] Nicholas Philly nods "okay, so tell me about something in your life that you would consider to be your greatest failure or regret, what you did about it, and how you learned from it."
  16. [20:16] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes a breath "My greatest regret would be not being more open sooner. For a long time I was a closed minded individual and it cost me a lot. I realized that something had to change and worked every day for nearly 3 years before I got to where I am today. I learned that I can still disagree with people but be friends with them."
  17. [20:19] Nicholas Philly nods taking some notes "okay moving on this next question is a bit of a scenario so your out on patrol and you decide to stop at the local market, while inside you see a close family member put an item they have not paid for into their pocket, what do you do?"
  18. [20:21] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98): I would approach them and inform them that I know what they did and let them take the time to choose whether they want to pay for it or put it back. If they denied either one of those I would then treat them like any other case showing no favoritism
  19. [20:23] Nicholas Philly nods "okay so if in this situation someone else witnessed them doing it as well, how would you protect the integrity of the Department?"
  20. [20:24] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes a second to think "I would pull them into a more private area away from the public eye"
  21. [20:26] Nicholas Philly takes a few notes then continues "okay building upon that, how would you react if you knew a fellow officer was committing a crime?"
  22. [20:27] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) thinks for a minute "I would privately inform my supervisor of what I saw them do"
  23. [20:30] Nicholas Philly nods writing a few more things down "So on the application, we asked you what was the most powerful weapon in an officers arsenal, You answered "Voice", can you explain your answer please?"
  24. [20:31] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) nods "I can. An officer's voice is his most powerful tool because it can be used to deescalate a situation without the use of physical force."
  25. [20:34] Nicholas Philly nods okay "also on the application one of the questions placed you in a foot pursuit with a suspect wanted for misdemeanor crimes, the suspect pulled a firearm, your response was that you would also draw your weapon and instruct the person to drop their gun, if they did not comply you would fire 1-3 shots. Why one to three shots?"
  26. [20:36] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) nods "Because I just want to shoot enough to neutralize the threat he poses, not necessarily kill him"
  27. [20:36] Nicholas Philly shrugs and begins writing some things down and continues " So Mr. Weylyn why should I hire you?"
  28. [20:38] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) takes another second to think "Because Im loyal, I follow directions to a tee, and I am someone you can always count on no matter what happens"
  29. [20:42] Nicholas Philly takes a few last notes and says "alright Mr. Weylyn that concludes the interview, we will be in contact with you once the review board has had the opportunity to evaluate everything. Do you have any questions for me before I let you get back to it?"
  30. [20:42] Richie Weylyn-Pierce (jrfan98) shakes his head "I do not!"
