  1. Showdown in the Badlands Rogue Theory Crafts by Luno
  2.
  3. 1. Menagerie Rogue
  4. - I have play-tested this and it's not a meme!
  5. - I've pulled off a 32-damage OTK several times on turn 7 by playing The One-Amalgam Band on 6 (discounted by Frequency Oscillator), followed by Invincible on 7 (using Shattershambler). This makes the Band a 16/16 with windfury from Invincible's battlecry and first deathrattle. It's hard for them to remove it on 6 because of stealth and divine shield.
  6. - Amalgams and Mistake are targets for Invincible, can be discounted by Frequency Oscillator, count towards Hooktusk, and can be drawn with Cutlass Courier.
  7. - Blackrock Co. Shovel is perfect for Cutlass Courier and Jolly Roger. Summon tons of 1/1 Zombie Pirates for Hooktusk and Putricide.
  8. - Replay your "all" type minions with bounce cards to pump up One-Amalgam Band, especially with Mimiron to get gadgets.
  9. - Scourge Illusionist gets you Invincible or 0-mana Drilly. You get a free Drilly with the quickdraw effect on turn 3 after playing Shattershambler and Scourge Illusionist.
  10. - Invincible makes a great bounce target after you've traded away its reborn. Replay it the same turn to further buff attacking undeads and/or create more taunts.
  11. - Sometimes the concoction generation can get totally out of hand with too much draw, so use Finley to replace your hand (also works with bad Scorpion spells or to get Drilly/Invincible out of your hand for Illusionist).
  12. - You can win quickly with tempo and Invincible, or close out long games against control by bouncing Hooktusk or Azerite Scorpion...or go for the OTK with One-Amalgam band and Invincible.
  13. - One-Amalgam Band is an insane bounce target and provides important late game healing, board clear, and taunt (all things Rogue lacks).
  14. - You could replace Queen Azshara with Crabatoa, or for a less-greedy version replace Hooktusk and the two Jolly Rogers with more concoctions/removal.

  29.
  30. 1. Excavate
  31. - Use Scourge Illusionist to pull a free Drilly to get a ton of fast excavation value.
  32. - Shovel and Dart Throw provide early removal plus coins to get you a faster Queen Azshara or Illusionist.
  33. - Gear shift or Finley can get Drilly out of hand for Illusionist, and Finley is also welcome to cycle to useful cards if your scorpion spells are all random garbage (you can make the same play to search for cards with From The Scrapheap in the Mech variant).
  34. - Azshara for Horn of the Ancients is extremely strong with early coins or Preparation + Bone Spike, especially with Tess.
  35. - You can use Azshara's Xal'atath with your free spells to close out the game, or duplicate powerful generated spells with Ring of Tides, or clone Horn/Tidestone with Shadow of Demise.
  36. - If you step Azshara or draw her late, your second scorpion can quickly put her online and/or activate Velarok.
  37. - Velarok can give you burst if your scorpions find buffs.
  38.

  50.
  51. ---
  52.
  53. 3. Wish
  54. - Use Wishing Well to get free legendaries on turn 5. The "other classes" legendary pool is pretty strong!
  55. - Combo with Bounty Board to make those legendaries cost 0 when you generate them or replay them with Bounce Around!
  56. - Bounty Board also makes the Shovel or a shadow-stepped Bounty Wrangler cost 0, which can help fuel Sinstone Graveyard.
  57. - As before, use Azshara with coins or Prep + Bone Spike for turn 4 or 5 colossal that you can replay with Tess or duplicate with Shadow of Demise.
  58. - Concoctions can find draw, removal, or cards for Velarok/Tess
  59. - Use the bounce package to get more coins, protect Bounty Board/Wishing Well, and to replay Azshara, Velarok, Tess, or generated legendaries.
  60. - Shovel is great for early game removal and your first excavation has a 20% chance to generate 2 coins (if you don't have Azshara, hold the Pouch of Coins card in case you draw Shadow of Demise to get 4 coins!), plus the other treasures are helpful early too.
  61. - Stick Up is very versatile and helps you find early removal, adds to Tess, activates Velarok/Azshara, and always offers you a 2-cost card if you need one for Greedy Partner. You have a 60% chance of being offered either a free rehydrate or 1-mana dehydrate. This pool has a lot of strong removal that's good even without Quickdraw. Farm Hand is also nice because the rogue undead pool is strong.
  62.

  77.
  78. Quad-spec Highlander (Mech + Excavate + Wish + Thief)
  79. - You'll be able to play highlander legendaries generated by Wishing Well for a huge bonus on turn 5.
  80. - Note you can safely double up on Wishing Well because necessarily if you generate a highlander legendary you'll have played 1 Wishing Well so there will be no duplicates in your deck!
  81. - Dunno if this deck is good but it will be a fun way to try out all the new cards. Games should be really varied with all the ways to play, plus the thrill of getting a stolen highlander card with the bonus on turn 5.
  82. https://hearthstone.blizzard.com/deckbuilder?deckcode=AAECAaIHHvefBMygBfafBMmUBtu5BOWwBOPTBOigBdCUBqGTBY6WBrmGBpCDBo2WBs6UBoukBd+gBfXdBN/DBcCaBr/3BciUBqH8Ba+oBs6UBvTdBNX2Beb6BdnQBf3EBQAAAQP2nwT9xAXfoAX9xAXuwwX9xAUAAA==
  83.
  84. ---
  85.
  86. 4. Miraculous Rodent (probably bad, but it works on paper)
  87. - Playing a single Rotten Rodent makes a ton of deathrattle cards in your deck free. On a miracle turn, you'll have access to ~14-20 free cards using Preparations, Snake Oils, and excavated treasure. Mana refresh from Record Scratcher lets you play Draka at the end of the turn.
  88. - Rodent discounts your Record Scratcher which you juice with the cheap combo spells (4 of which draw you more cards).
  89. - Rodent also makes Bloodrock Co. Shovel free; use it on a miracle turn to pop the Scratcher without attacking and swing with the Draka weapon on the same turn you play her.
  90. - You can chip, survive, and even get ahead on board with all the cheap undead tempo as you set up for the miracle turn.
  91. - Setup is not even that crazy, just play a Rodent and a Record Scratcher. Graveyard on board and some combo cards in hand helps and bonus if you've got a discounted concoction or coins.
  92. - Snake Oil is fuel on a miracle turn or can be traded during setup, and it also pings if you have Thalnos out. Deafen helps you get through taunts while improving Record Scratcher.
  93. - I'm not sure, but if you trade your Tram Mechanic into an enemy minion with a full hand maybe you get a free deal 3 to the enemy?
  94. - Probably replace Tram Mechanic with another Ghoulish Alchemist, a Shadow Step, or Queen Azshara.
  95. - You can trade away your board to make space for ghosts/draka/free minions, but you can also attack face first and then use your Ghostly Strikes to clear your own board.
  96. - With Thalnos on board, you have enough damage to Ghostly Strike a Salesman to generate a free Snake Oil which benefits from the spell damage. You can then hit Thalnos himself for more draw and, if Putricide is on board, more concoctions.
  97. - Without Thalnos, you can only ghostly strike your 1-health minions, so if you need space avoid Banshee as your first target (she may buff a one health guy out of range of your second strike). You can also play a Banshee then strike her to buff an undead attacker (the graveyard ghosts are undead too!)
  98. - You can pop both Shovels on the same turn by playing other discounted weapons. Pouch of Coins is obviously the best miracle treasure but Fool's Azerite, Water Source, Azerite Chunk, and Canary are also good.
  99. - A typical miracle turn happens between 4 and 6 and probably gets you a 5-15 damage Draka weapon and/or ghost. OTK is possible, e.g.
  100. Turn 1: Play Miracle Salesman
  101. Turn 2: Play Rodent, Salesman goes face
  102. Turn 3-4: Play Record scratcher and swing face, Ghoulish Alchemist and Potion Belt/Putricide generate a 0-cost concoction with draw.
  103. Turn 5: The concoction draws 4 free cards, you play 5 1-mana combo cards drawing 3-4 cards and killing 1-2 of your own dudes for board space, prep + potion belt, 4 coins from excavated Pouch of Coins (20% chance) copied by a Shadow of Demise (a free Shovel pops your Record Scratcher, giving you 5 more mana, the second free Shovel gave you the Pouch of Coins...this whole chain plays 8 cards and gives you 9 mana), you spend the 4 coins on a second concoction for more draw or cheap cards from other classes and play a few more cards (e.g. Snake Oil) before Draka for a 15-25 damage dagger and/or ghost.

  112.
  113. 5. An Even Bigger Shovel (Budget)
  114. - Uses only free legendaries, but if you have Shadow of Demise use that instead of Door of Shadows.
  115. - Requires 4 epics, but the super budget version does not.
  116. - The plan is to build a thick Shovel, Ignis weapon, or dagger using your bounce cards and Celestial Projectionist on Air Guitarist.
  117. - Use Melted Maker to get a ton of free Storm Giants (tutor them or Ignis using Taelan). Free giants are ideal targets for Breakdance or Projectionist (the temporary copy can also be forged for more copies with Melted Maker).
  118. - You can go in on a big Shovel early, or stall out with Watcher of the Sun to get to Ignis or giants.
  119. - Ignis can also be copied or bounced to re-roll your 5-cost weapon, so if you're losing on board don't be afraid to create a 1-cost weapon for removal or whatever you need to survive.
  120. - Use Deafen or Tough Crowd to get through taunts and control the board. Tough Crowd will always have outcast after you bounce or copy it, and can bounce your guys in a pinch if you need more Air Guitarists, healing/spells from Watcher, another Ignis, etc.
