  1. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:37 PM
  2. Okay! Ready to go?
  3.
  4. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:37 PM
  5. Yes I am.
  6.
  7. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:38 PM
  8. So, although you've been through this before, couple things to mention.
  9. The questions will be primarily phrased in the format of situations and asking what you would do.
  10. This is assuming you have all moderator powers in these situations.
  11. Do you have any questions regarding the powers moderators get?
  12.
  13. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:40 PM
  14. If you could go through them, please.
  15. I'm not sure.
  16.
  17. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:41 PM
  18. Alright. You can defuse welding fuel tanks, and reset the fuse as well. You can wind people, which puts them on the ground in a sleeping state. You can mute people from a variety of channels (Dsay, ahelp, LOOC, IC/emote, etc.) As well as full ban, warn, and note powers.
  19. You can view variables such as character skills and records but you cannot edit those variables.
  20. Does that clear it up?
  21.
  22. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:43 PM
  23. Yep.
  24.
  25. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:43 PM
  26. If, during the situations, you want to ask if you can do a specific thing as a moderator, feel free.
  27.
  28. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:43 PM
  29. Got it.
  30.
  31. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:43 PM
  32. Alright. First one.
  33. A new player joins with the character name "Vladimir Putin", a bald 30 year old assistant. Records show their account is 1 days old. What do you do?
  34.
  35. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:45 PM
  36. I send him a friendly message informing him that this is a HRP server, and therefore, joke or reference names are dissallowed. I remind him to read the rules if he has not done so already, and offer to get him an admin to give him a name change. I'll then ghost around him for a bit to make sure that he does not break any rules or grief, because somebody who immediately breaks the rules with the name is probably used to LRP, or might just be a griefer.
  37.
  38. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:46 PM
  39. And if he ignores your PMs?
  40.
  41. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:48 PM
  42. A few more PMs, before a permaban to force communication on the issue.
  43.
  44. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:48 PM
  45. Alright. Moving on.
  46. Suddenly a bunch of attack logs appear about two guys shooting each other. It looks like they're shooting at each other with lethal weapons. You were in the lobby so you don't have much else information on the situation. There are no other mods or staff on at the time.
  47.
  48. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:50 PM
  49. I check if they are antagonists.
  50.
  51. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:50 PM
  52. Neither of them are antagonists.
  53.
  54. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:51 PM
  55. I wind them both quickly, and PM them both, greeting them, apologising for stopping their games, and asking why they are shooting each other as non antagonists.
  56.
  57. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:52 PM
  58. One is a security officer. The other is a head of security. The head of security states that the officer walked up behind him and started shooting.
  59. Officer: Same story. HoS walked up and shot him in the back.
  60.
  61. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:52 PM
  62. Do I have the ability to check logs?
  63.
  64. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:52 PM
  65. You can check attack logs for the round.
  66.
  67. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:52 PM
  68. Who shot first?
  69.
  70. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:53 PM
  71. Attack logs confirm the HoS was shot first.
  72.
  73. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:53 PM
  74. I question the officer on why he shot his HoS with lethals. Was there a provocation worthy of murder?
  75. I apologise to the HoS that he is winded, and tell him I won't be long.
  76.
  77. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:54 PM
  78. The officer says the HoS shot him earlier in the round.
  79.
  80. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:55 PM
  81. I check if that is true.
  82.
  83. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:55 PM
  84. You can see attack logs from about 20 minutes ago of the HoS shooting the officer with stuns and handcuffing them.
  85.
  86. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:57 PM
  87. No doubt that was reasonable. The HoS is a head whitelisted player, and loyalty implanted ICly.
  88. The officer had no justification to attempt the murder of the HoS when he was arrested 20 mins ago as a non antagonist.
  89. Just to be safe, I ask the HoS why he arrested the officer.
  90. If he gives a valid reason, I'd probably dayban the officer. This is a massive breach of rules, practically griefing, and he lied to me.
  91. If he has done something like it before, I'll scale up the punishment appropriately.
  92.
  93. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:59 PM
  94. The HoS says he stunned and arrested him for beating down a prisoner in cold blood earlier, charging him with excessive use of force. The sentence had just ended a moment ago. Logs confirm that the officer had beaten a scientist with his stun baton around 10 times. Harm intent.
  95.
  96. Superiorform - Yesterday at 11:59 PM
  97. Alright, as above, then.
  98. This officer is srs griff.
  99.
  100. ShameOnTurtles - Yesterday at 11:59 PM
  101. Got it.
  102.
  103. June 5, 2017
  104. Superiorform - Today at 12:00 AM
  105. Id note all of his offenses, beating down a prisoner harm intent, murder of the HoS, lying.
  106.
  107. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:00 AM
  108. Alright. Onto the next.
  109. You receive an adminhelp suggesting that a player whom you consider yourself close with and a good friend to be metagrudging them as a head of staff. How do you proceed?
  110.
  111. Superiorform - Today at 12:03 AM
  112. Hand it off to another mod.
  113.
  114. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:03 AM
  115. No one is available on discord, and you are the only staff on. It's deadhour.
  116.
  117. Superiorform - Today at 12:05 AM
  118. I would ask the player why he feels this way. I'd try my best to gather evidence and sort it, but I think I'd have to wait and let another staff member dole out the punishments and evaluate what evidence I gather.
  119.
  120. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:05 AM
  121. Okay.
  122. How do you feel the community percieves you as a player, presently?
  123.
  124. Superiorform - Today at 12:09 AM
  125. I think I'm viewed in a mainly positive light. I have recieved a fair amount on compliments on my play as borg, crew, and antag, and I've been around for quite a long time. Issues were raised about my first character, Jack Humblin, but I reckon thats rectified now. Someone commented in the general discord yesterday that he'd trust me as a mod, too, but he didn't post on my app.
  126.
  127. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:11 AM
  128. What are your preferred cases to handle? Which would you prefer to avoid?
  129.
  130. Superiorform - Today at 12:12 AM
  131. I honestly have no idea. Without any experience as a mod, I couldn't say. Maybe at the start I'd prefer to shy away from cases that have high punishments, like permabans or antag bans. I'd prefer to do that later, when I am sure that I can handle them correctly.
  132.
  133. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:14 AM
  134. Got it. Last question, what is the difference between realistic and believable roleplay for you, and which do you think is more important?
  135.
  136. Superiorform - Today at 12:17 AM
  137. Realistic roleplay is roleplay that adheres to what is possible and probable. On the other hand, believeable roleplay need not be realistic, it just needs to be realistic enough for us to suspend our disbelief. In my opinion, I think believable roleplay is more important. As long as I can think it is realistic I can have more fun, without being constrained by what is actually realistic, and limiting what fun things could happen.
  138.
  139. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:19 AM
  140. With what you said about believable and realistic roleplay in mind, how would you say this applies to interactions with antagonists?
  141.
  142. Superiorform - Today at 12:20 AM
  143. The same, I suppose. Actually, come to think of it... wizards. Wizards should be able to have magic, but it must be able to be explained by something. This need not be bluespace, but if asked, the wizard should be able to say something reasonable to explain his magic. No one is exempt from the believability idea.
  144. I would say every other antagonist is believable. Cult, for example, can just explain Nar'Sie. Vampires can just say the viel.
  145. veil.*
  146.
  147. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:22 AM
  148. Alright. That pretty much concludes everything. Do you mind if this interview is posted on your application, or would you rather it be kept within administration?
  149.
  150. Superiorform - Today at 12:22 AM
  151. Post away, no problems for me.
  152.
  153. ShameOnTurtles - Today at 12:23 AM
  154. Sweet. Any closing comments?
  155.
  156. Superiorform - Today at 12:24 AM
  157. No, that's it, I think. Thanks for taking the time.
