  1. [13:46:42] Slaine Rueger says, "Ah hello Miss Rilla."
  2. [13:47:16] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "Ah, hello."
  3. [13:48:26] Slaine Rueger says, "I was just coming to check around Legnsel. I finished studying some of the basic Necromancy texts but I figure I shouldn't get too deep into the texts just yet."
  4. [13:49:56] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "I see."
  5. [13:51:01] Slaine Rueger says, "Yeah...How are things going with you though? I've settled a bit in Legnsel."
  6. [13:52:41] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "I see. They've been going decently, I suppose."
  7. [13:53:20] Slaine Rueger asks, "Ah well thats good any chance I could get a lesson in Necromancy today?"
  8. [13:53:29] Rilla nods
  9. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [13:53:33] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "It shouldn't be too hard to do that."
  13. [13:53:48] Slaine Rueger says, "Very well I am ready to learn."
  14. [13:55:01] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "We can start the lesson in the lab"
  15. [13:55:10] Slaine Rueger says, "Okay."
  16. [14:06:46] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (Sorry I am, a bit distracted...)
  17. [14:07:03] Rilla would lead Slaine into the lab, where she had the materials waiting for their lesson. Another apprentice under her wing, it would seem she was getting just a bit closer to her goal...
  18.
  19. "So, tell me how much you now already? What all have you read so far?"
  20. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [14:07:08] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (Small post that took too long...)_
  24. [14:07:42] LOOC - Slaine Rueger: [ np it happens.
  25. [14:11:54] Slaine would think to himself for a moment pondering what he had gone over and studied in the time since he last saw Rilla. After some time trying to pull the contents of each book together he decided to regurgitate what he knew. Although it was mostly walls of text and not much experience behind them or the process.
  26.
  27. " Well Lets see...I've read so far that in order to create undead you need to be well versed in summoning a spirit. Eventually the Spirit is placed into a vessel and that vessel combined with the spirit becomes the undead. Thus creating an internal being."
  28.
  29. Most of the information he gathered was crude but it seemed he had at least a basic idea on the function and the process however most of the gory details were exempt.
  30. (Slaine Rueger)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [14:18:59] "Not... Quite..."
  34.
  35. Rilla would sigh. It would seem he actually didn't know... Well, really anything. That was incredibly far off from anything related to necromancy.
  36.
  37. "What you're thinking of is Spirit Summoning, which, while I admit they are similar in concept could not be any more different. A spirit is simply a part of the soul, an essence. Necromancy deals with the whole thing, the soul in it's entirety."
  38.
  39. Rilla would nod.
  40.
  41. "In order to raise one that has died, you need to have a deep understanding of it's circuits, how to repair them, and how they're shaped. From there, you create a sort of bridge to the soul with your mana. With the bridge made, you coax the soul down into the body and 'stitch' it in. If you do everything right, then you've made an undead."
  42.
  43. Rilla would nod once more. It all sounded quite simple when you actually put it out there, though that couldn't be further from the truth.
  44.
  45. "Don't be fooled by how simple it sounds. It's an incredibly complex procedure, and one that you'll find yourself meeting with failure more times then not until you get it down."
  46.
  47. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  48. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. [14:25:59] Slaine tried to wrap his head around the concepts Rilla had laid out in front of him. Indeed it sounded like quite a harder process than he could fathom. Yet his interest didn't die out there. He felt almost compelled to continue onward.
  51.
  52. " Ah I see I was quite wrong then. Using a soul to empower the undead. And being well versed in mana circuitry well I suppose I don't know anything about necromancy as of right now. But even though its a hard subject I won't quit even though it seems multiple failures are to come. I'll continue trying my hardest."
  53.
  54. With that the silver haired boy stood attentive and ready to learn any facts he could to allow him to become a better necromancer He took out a pen and some paper to make sure he took note on what Rilla outlined for him. Especially on what she had corrected him on just recently, Now that he had a hint of what was to be involved he could only assume whatthe next step was.
  55.
  56. " I suppose I will have to get quite familiar with the structure of the mana circuits next If I am to repair them properly."
  57. (Slaine Rueger)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [14:42:19] "You will, yes. Though fortunately for you I've got something that will make that much easier on you."
  61.
  62. Rilla would turn towards the counter, before taking two things out from a small cabinet. One, was a book with several different sketches and the like sticking out of it, and the other was a bag that seemed to be filled to the brim with various small birds.
  63.
  64. "Every necromancer starts small. Birds, squirrels, other small animals. This is what you'll be starting with. They have fairly simple mana circuitry. Though, don't expect to be able to raise one on your first try."
  65.
  66. Rilla would nod. She still remembered her first attempt at it...
  67.
  68. "And this, is a copy of our books. It has sketches of the mana circuitry for both a few varieties of birds, as well as humans. Study it, look over it. Though you'll still need actual practice before you can really understand them."
  69. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [14:50:24] Slaine would take the book and look over it a little the detailed explanations of the inner workings of the mana circuits lining the birds was quite well done. It seemed very complex but when reading it over it was quite simple to understand the language that was being used. He looked into the bag of birds he would take note that he would have to take his time to inspect each one.
  73.
  74. " I see I will have some busy times on my hands but I will continue to practice. Repairing the Mana circuits and using my mana as a bridge to the soul. I hope you'll give me a little example of how to do such a thing."
  75.
  76. He didn't want the answer but knowing where and how to start would be a better starting point than him trying to revive a bird blindly. He took a bird from the bag and laid it out in front of him. Following the sketches from the book he tried to examine each major juncture of mana circuitry and find where the damagehad been done to it.
  77.
  78. For the most part each bird only showed damage to their circuits where they would have received a killing wound from Slaine would have to investigate exactly how exactly he would go about repair something that had been damaged. He couldn't exactly use healing magic of any sort. He turned to Rilla the question hanging form his expression.
  79. (Slaine Rueger)
  80. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  84.
  85. [14:54:15] LOOC - Slaine Rueger: [sorry interent >.>
  86. [14:56:20] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: )(
  87. [14:56:22] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (It's fine_)
  88. [14:59:49] "Well, there's really no example to give. You're going to try it for yourself."
  89.
  90. Rilla nodded, as she reached in and placed a small, recently deceased sparrow down onto the counter.
  91.
  92. "I can, however, explain. What you will want to do first is to pour your mana into it's circuits. You'll need to concentrate and focus. When you have the circuits prepped, we'll move to the next step. But! Do not stop when they are."
  93.
  94. Another nod. Rilla would make sure to emphasize this next part...
  95.
  96. "One thing to remember is that it is not how much mana your using, as it is how consistent the flow is. You'll want it to be even, and even a little bit slow so as to not tire yourself out, alright?"
  97. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [15:12:09] Slaine would nod given his abilities weren't always superb as a mage one thing he did pick up quickly was learning how to control and manipulate his mana. He would place a hand on the bird closing his eyes and allowing his mana to slowly summon itself first he meditated for a while visualizing his own circuits lighting up. Then he focused on moving his mana towards his arms then down into his hands. Each juncture of mana sparking and jolting its way throughout his body until finally, it reached his fingertips where he made contact with the sparrow.
  101.
  102. He set his fingers onto the birds chest not really caring that it was dead, He visualized almost as if his mana circuits were slowly extending into the creatures almost as if a rapidly growing roots were becoming in tangled with another plants roots. With that mental image in mind he would leak his mana into the bird slowly giving it small doses of his mana almost as if he was getting a feel for its circuit structure. Each pulse of mana he sent through he was able to clearly map out more and more of the sparrows interior circuitry and he opened his eyes to refer to the sketches if he needed more guidance.
  103.
  104. He continued doing this for a while until he felt confident enough that he could start inducing a steady stream of mana into the bird's circuits Seeing as it was smaller in stature he figured he would need a low volume of mana. He faintly poured a steady stream of his mana into the bird keeping it constant just like Rilla said to. Next, he would keep this flow going for a while toning it back using just enough. Now that he felt he could keep up the pace he listened for Rilla's next round of instructions.
  105. (Slaine Rueger)
  106. [06:51:03] Slaine Slaine would continue to slowly inject his mana into the sparrow making sure to continue the stream flowing and surrounding the circuits of the sparrow. Following Rilla's instructions, he began to form his mana into a beacon for the soul in which he was trying to pull from the lifestream. Spinning his mana into what he imagined was a bridge to connect the soul to its body that was claimed by death. Slaine continued to reach and reach trying to pull more power from his own circuits extracting more power from his mana to create a bridge. He could almost feel the presence of the soul taking shape and being drawn to his mana that he was forming until suddenly. His mana reacted in a different way. The circuits wouldn't nearly burst being overcharged by his mana the influx the soul's energy brought with it was too much for Slaine to contend with and manipulate until finally. The Sparrow nearly exploded and its circuits fried and shorted out. Slaine would remove his hand from the bird a look of embracement shone on his eyes. It was clear that he had failed and for a moment he would be disappointed. However, he would use his frustrations as a motivator. He reached back down into the bag of birds and continued to practice following the same process he did like the last one. He barely noticed Rilla's faint smile as she left her student in the lab to continue to practice his necromancy.
