Ralsei & Anon School Edition: The Prom (alt. ending)

>be sitting in front of the school lawn on a blanket, your back against the white concrete wall beside the steps!
>be relaxing with your best friend Ralsei beside you, legs criss crossed as he gazes up at the orange-blue sky with you!
>Wide, thin clouds graze across the sky as you sigh very softly!
>Despite your calm, relaxed demeanor, you are incredibly nervous inside and just a few moments away from visibly shaking!
>You've known Ralsei for the better part of a year and a half!
>[spoiler]You've really started to develop feelings for him throughout all that time![/spoiler]
>Maybe it would be best to come clean about these feelings sooner rather than later!
>Or maybe not!
>You look over to Ralsei, who's already looking at you and gives you his signature smile [spoiler]with an adorable pink blush![/spoiler]
>You smile back and silently chuckle a little!
>Ralsei hears this and asks you what's so funny, his head tilted to the side curiously as his blush grows just a little bit more!
>You say that it's nothing and he lets it slide, going back to gaze up at the sky with you!
>After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Ralsei begins to speak softly, saying how he's had such an incredible time at this school and almost can't believe that you're both so close to graduation!
>You smile and nod, saying that time really does pass by when you're in school!
>He giggles a little and takes a moment to sigh softly and hide his face a little into his scarf!
>"And… and even though it had its ups and downs… I… I'm so grateful to have had you by my side through it all, Anon…"
>You feel your heart stop for a split second when he says this and your face is slowly but surely burning due to your developing blush!
>"E-ever since I came here I made so many good friends… and I'm so happy to have you as my best friend…"
>You smile down and it only grows wider!
>You feel as if you might cry at any moment!



>You turn to Ralsei and say that out of all the people you've met, he's the one that's made the biggest impact on his life!
>You continue to explain how he's changed your life from the better, from actually giving a damn about your homework and grades, to getting out of the house more and enjoying and appreciating so many more things in life, no matter how big and small!
>He sniffles a little and raises his glasses to rub his teary eyes!
>You finish it off by saying that he's one of the most important and incredible people in your life!
>He laughs a little and sniffles, smiling up gratefully at you as he thanks you and says he's never truly known the extent of which he meant to you!
>You both sit closer together after that!
>Soon after as the sun's final rays disappear over the horizon, Ralsei looks up at you and asks you a question!
>"Oh, and I was gonna ask you Anon, have you found someone special for the prom that's coming up?"
>You feel yourself freeze when he says this!
>Could now be the time?
>Should you finally confess how you truly feel about Ralsei?
>You quickly decide that you should! That you will!
>Now or never!
>With all these thoughts racing in your mind, you take a deep breath and sigh, albeit somewhat shakily!
>Ralsei doesn't seem to notice this however!
>You explain that you haven't found anyone you wanted to go with yet, except one!
>You then that you actually wanted to talk to Ralsei about this!
>He tilts his head again, and blushes a lit when you suddenly but gently hold his paw with one hand, the two of you facing each other!
>He looks down at your hand and begins to realize what's going on!
>He doesn't back away or anything that would indicate a red flag, so you continue!
>You explain to him that you've been meaning to ask him out to the prom for a while now, but you wanted to wait until there was an opportune moment!
>You also add that he's had such a massive impact on your life and you've never felt this way for anyone before and how you want to get to know him better, before formally asking him if he would like to go out to the prom with you!
>Ralsei is shaking as much as you, with a blush to match!
>He swallows and looks down at your hand, his eyes getting glossy!
>He sniffles and quietly whimpers out his response after a minute!
>He says that he can't go with you!
>It takes you a few seconds to process this and Ralsei sees this!
>He sniffles and looks down at your hand, still holding his paw and quickly adds that it's not because of who you are or how you act or anything negative about you!
>It's because he had already asked someone else out a few days prior and they accepted!
>You stay silent for a few moments and nod, your chest tightening to the point where it hurts a lot!
>You let go of his palm as quickly as you held it and look down at yourself, before giving Ralsei a sad smile and saying that it was at least worth a shot, before giving a little chuckle mixed in with despair!
>Ralsei nods and you swear you see a tear escape his eye before sniffling and wiping it away the moment is begins to stream down his eyelid!
>You both sit there in silence for a little while longer!
>It's all so silent!
>No crickets or birds or anything!
>You feel so incredibly numb!
>You turn to Ralsei and say that you should probably head home before your folks begin to worry about you!
>He nods, most of his face hidden away in his scarf as he looks out at the horizon!
>You tell Ralsei to get himself home soon and safely before standing up and walking away!
>It's only until you turn the corner that you begin to quietly weep.
>Your legs give out on a tree in the park near your house and you just sit against it, sobbing openly as the sky grows darker.
