They had visited a village populated by those infected by the Seyla. The people there had wanted Yogiri to kill them, but he had effectively ignored them and left. Yogiri wasn’t fond of the idea of turning around and meeting them again either.

In the end, everyone except Scott had wished to die, and Yogiri gave death to fifteen people in the village. In all likelihood, dying by Yogiri's power completely erases something similar to a soul. He had explained it to them, but none of them had changed their mind. None seemed like they wanted to think things through very deeply, so they might not have really considered what they were getting into.

“Thank you. As promised, I’ll help you as much as I can. You can kill me once you’re happy.” After burying his companions, Scott came back.

けっきょ く、 スコット を 除い た 全員 が 死 を 望み、 夜霧 は 村 に い た 十 五人 に 死 を 与え た。 　 夜霧 の 力 で 死ね ば おそらく 魂 の よう な もの は 完全 に 消失 する。 再度 そう 説明 し た が、 それでも 彼ら の 決意 は 変わら なかっ た の だ。 　 もっとも、 彼ら は もう 何 も 考え たく ない という 様子 だっ た ので、 深く 考え て 死 を 選ん だ わけ では ない の かも しれ ない が。 「ありがとう。 今後 は 可能 な 限り 君たち に 協力 する と 約束 しよ う。 私 が 死ぬ のは 君たち が 納得 できる 状況 に なっ てからで いい」 　 村人 たち の 埋葬 を 終え た スコット が やってき た。
