  1. Janna has some sort of meaningful life event. Duh. Part 1 - http://pastebin.com/c7JV6D10
  2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  3. Janna faced off against Illaoi from across the room. The air was rife with tension, or perhaps just the wood dust from the smashed desk and floor. This dust was so fine that it got absolutely everywhere; it probably wasn't the safest thing to get in your eyes. As such, Janna turned to one of her League staples - Eye of the Storm. A wind shield could both protect her from the crazy lady and keep that dust from her eyes, right?
  4.
  5. Of course it could!
  6.
  7. Janna took a breath, and performed the hand movement required to conjure up a shield. She'd done this many, many times; the gesture was perfect and since she was outside of the League, there would be no silly limitations to its usage.
  8.
  9. The only problem is that it's kinda hard to perform magic without your soul. Illaoi also lacked limitations, and Janna found this out the hard way when the tentacle from before shoved her out the door. Rude.
  10.
  11. Janna picked herself off the cobblestones and took a quick glance around. The office was located in the heart of Piltover, an area constantly being rebuilt and improved. Luckily, since it was 6 A.M., absolutely no one was around to witness this. Perhaps Janna shouldn't have agreed to an interview at 5 in the morning. The square she found herself shoved back into had a lovely fountain with a statue of Caitlyn, aiming her gun into distance. It even seemed to have a sparkling...thingy...on top her hat. It looked awfully humanoid - if Janna's eyes weren't deceiving her, it looked like a translucent version of herself. Funny thing. It's almost as if...
  12.
  13. Oh. Damn. That's her soul. On top of a statue.
  14.
  15. Illaoi burst from the office, a trail of dust following her. "Child," she bellowed, "I present your first challenge! This is the true test of Nagakabouros, unfettered by the League's magic. You must remain in motion and fight the waves to reach your goal."
  16.
  17. During this Janna dusted herself off and took in the challenge. The statue did seem possible to climb - it would be a bit difficult without powers, but she isn't completely useless without the wind. As she took a few steps towards the fountain, she noticed the pool of water bubbling and glanced at Illaoi.
  18.
  19. Illaoi had hefted her idol upon her shoulder. The idol glowed a deep green and tendrils of energy danced from it towards the water. The bubbling intensified, and from the deep arose at least a dozen more tentacles. Fun for the whole family.
  20.
  21. "Servant, you must now face the test! Brave the reach of my god to attain what's rightfully yours. As it says in chapter 6, verse 9, sub-verse 28 of the Book of Nagakabouros..."
  22.
  23. Janna tuned out the proselytizing priestess and surveyed the situation. Was doing as Illaoi said and braving the tentacles feasible?
  24.
  25. As she thought this, she unconsciously took a step forward. In response, all of the tentacles stopped their aimless waving and slick dance moves to swivel in her direction.
  26.
  27. Perhaps the direct approach was not for her. She observed her surroundings.
  28.
  29. The rising sun shone upon the square, lighting it a ghostly green - almost certainly due to the constant usage of Illaoi's idol. Energy swirled through the area, congregating around Illaoi and Janna's soul especially. Something glinted up in the distance, and with a turn of her head Janna noticed a paint can. Funny that. Said can was on top of some scaffolding, everyone's favorite part of construction work. The scaffolding did get quite close to the soul - perhaps with a little reaching she could access it. Janna strode over to the scaffold and started her ascent.
