- Mushroom
- Appearance- Kirby gains a large orange mushroom cap that covers down past his eyes. When the mushroom cap is removed, there is revealed to be a smaller, thinner mushroom growing out of Kirby's head.
- Attack - Kirby throws the mushroom cap off his head as a projectile. The cap bounces off of walls and enemies up to 3 times. When it hits something, the cap unleashes a burst of spores that increase its damage range. Another cap immediately grows once Kirby throws the previous cap, but only 1 mushroom cap can be thrown at a time. Works the same in air.
- Guard - While guarding, Kirby hides under his mushroom cap. Weaker enemies that touch Kirby while guarding will be bounced away from him, while stronger attacks will destroy the cap, preventing damage and putting Kirby into his normal guard state until the button is let go of. The cap grows back after a short delay, which tells you when the mushroom guard can be used again.
- Guard + Attack/Guard in Air - Kirby throws the cap to the ground, creating a large mushroom underneath him. The mushroom acts as a bouncy platform, and immediately springs Kirby into the air when he creates it while on the ground. Bouncing on the mushroom creates a burst of spores around the mushroom, which deal damage to enemies that touch them. Throwing a mushroom cap at it causes the cap to rebound, and the bouncy mushroom to let out spores.
- Attack without Mushroom Cap - If Kirby loses the cap through guarding, there is a brief period where a tiny mushroom is revealed to be growing out of his head. Attacking during this brief period will cause Kirby to pluck the mushroom and throw it as a weak projectile. It can be used rapidly as the mushroom grows back nearly immediately.
- Upgrades
- Poison Mushroom Cap - Spores now both damage and poison the enemy, making them take damage over time. Kills normal enemies, but fades after a few seconds for mini-bosses and bosses.
- Dreamshroom Cap - In addition to damaging and poisoning enemies, the spores now slow afflicted enemies down. The slowing effect does not affect bosses, but can be applied to mini-bosses for a few seconds.
