[Will Antonio Zeppeli](http://www.fightersgeneration.com/nx7/char/asb/will-zeppeli-ripple.png) is the mentor of Jonathan Joestar in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. He uses a technique called the "Ripple", that allows him to imbue his attacks with sunlight and life energy, all for the purpose of taking down vampires, and destroying the "Stone Mask" once and for all.

When Will was a young man, he was part of his father's archaeological group, traveling the world in search of new things. During a trip to Mexico, he found the stone mask, a device that allows the user to turn into a vampire, but only if they wear the mask while it's in contact with human blood. On his way back home from the trip, Will discovered that someone had used the mask, and killed everyone on board. Desperate to escape, he jumped overboard, and tried to swim away, but the vampire quickly followed. Luckily for him, the sun rose at that exact moment and killed the vampire, allowing Will to see who used the mask and kill everyone. Much to his horror, he found out that the vampire was none other than his father.

Two years after that incident, while traveling the world, he found a young doctor using the ripple to cure someone's infected leg. The doctor guided him to a temple, where he would learn the ripple from a master. However, as soon as he entered the temple, the master warned him of something dangerous. If he learned the ripple, then he would be fated to die in battle. He pressed on and learned anyway, devoting his whole life to destroying the stone mask. It was after all of this that he met Jonathan, and his journey to stop Dio began.

While it goes by many names, Hamon is life energy in Jojo. By breathing in a certain way, you can fill your attacks with this life energy. This energy can be used for many reasons, and can be passed through nearly any object, but the main reason it's used is to counter Vampires, as the life energy has the same effect on them as Sunlight would. Zeppeli learned his Hamon from a master, after training in it for over three years, meaning he uses it in a wide variety of ways.
