Divination - Scrying

Welcome to Divination! This is bittersweet, as it is the last class I will be teaching you all! After this, you will all be master fortune-tellers (hopefully). The last thing we are going to study is Scrying. Particularly, Scrying with the use of a Crystal Sphere.
The idea behind a perfectly spherical crystal is that it gives off energy equally in all directions. If you’re planning on doing a séance then you should place the crystal ball in the center of the table. The specific instructions can vary as the method has changed throughout the years. When it comes to crystal gazing, the material choice has different effects. If you do intend to use your crystal for Scrying, the best choice would be a clear material, such as Quartz.
When you begin scrying, you must first prepare the crystal, the room, and yourself. We will be using the crystals as a form of energy, so we will need to charge them before we can use them to channel the energy for our intended function. In order to avoid the energy being drained, keep the crystals in direct sunlight when they are not in use.
There are various methods for charging your Crystal Sphere for Scrying. Some prefer to bury their crystal in the Earth to allow it to soak up the Earth's natural energy. Others will leave them in the light of a full moon for cosmic energy. Of course, there are simpler methods, such as passing your crystal through smoke or incense or rubbing it with holy water.
The most important aspect of crystal scrying is the set and setting, which refers to your own state of mind and the environment that you're in. You need to be level-headed. It can be a good idea to meditate before scrying. Before starting your gazing, hold the crystal. This way you charge it with your energy, establishing a connection to it. Once you're ready, focus on the crystal ball. Simply begin staring at it, using some techniques similar to meditation such as focused deep breathing. As your mind begins to focus on the crystal and your conscious mind dissipates, you should behind to see a mist form. You want to stare into this mist. Try to blink as little as possible but don’t force your eyes to stay open beyond what is comfortable. It shouldn’t take long before you start to see symbols, energy (in the form of different colors and shapes) or even images or entire scenarios. Just remember: learning how to read a crystal ball takes patience and lots of practice. If you don’t see anything the first, second or even third time, don’t give up. View your energy like rolling a snowball down a snowy hill. At first, it might be a little slow and difficult to see. As the momentum builds up, the snowball gets bigger and full of energy as it collects more snow.
This is the most difficult form of scrying we have learned thus far, so I do not expect you all to pick it up right away! I do, however, expect you to direct all your effort and attention to the task at hand. Now, let's move on to your last homework assignment.
