Seithr and the Black Beast were both supposed to be mindless monsters that did nothing but destroy and massacre. They would simply appear and devour anything in front of them. They were supposed to be just as simple as that. But here they were, baiting soldiers by letting them get fired up, then enveloping them once they pushed too far forward. It was unbelievably logical and clever.

"The Black Beast understands how to use honest-to-goodness battle tactics? You gotta be kidding me..."

The one saving grace about the Black Beast was supposed to be that it simply charged forward thoughtlessly, but now it seemed that not only did it understand tactics, but it could also employ clever strategies of its own. With a quick, harsh exhale, Jubei turned to a cluster of seithr and swept the black mist away like a tornado.
