  1. Officer David Parks’s rookie partner dies which leaves him with the grief of having survived a felony traffic stop. He hadn't known about it as he'd shut his radio off during another call. He wakes up in the hospital and internal affairs is trying to get the details of the shooting right.
  2.
  3. They don't believe that the guy who got his heart blown out with 12 gauge buck kept moving, stabbed him, then drove off. He's still in a cast from a gunshot and stab wound. He heads off, and on the way back recognizes one of his friends from the military, James. James is happy to see him and mentions the last time they saw each other was during the "convoy incident". The two try to catch up, but Parks is interrupted when he receives a text from a mysterious figure claiming to know about the people that tried to kill him.
  4. Not wanting to squander a perfectly good opportunity(and sacrifice his own pride), he follows the lead to the top floor of the garage. Expecting an ambush, he one hands his Glock 19 and investigates the top floor of the hospital's parking structure. A man in a suit gives Parks a briefcase which Parks takes, on the condition that he doesn't get in the report's way of the main story where the suspect that shot him was on "bath salts and PCP."
  5.
  6. Parks and James investigate the case and find files on the person who attempted to murder him and his partner, finding the Department of Homeland security had files on them. It leads them to a warehouse in South Phoenix, a perimeter is created and a SWAT team is called in on a high risk warrant call. Parks is on leave, but in the car with his lieutenant all the while. The SWAT team comes across heavy resistance and Parks gets into another defensive shooting after his killer jumps out a window, then takes shots at him- He notices the killer's wounds are healed, almost as if they never happened.
  7.
  8. He arrests him with the help of James(running him over with his car and asking him where the cat girls are), and Parks grabs his killer. In the middle of the arrest, Homeland Security arrests the killer claiming it to be a matter of "National Security". Parks rides with James later and the two get into a fight over James's insane anime delusions. This is interrupted by Parks's arm putting itself back into place while in the cast, putting him in severe pain. James pulls over and they pull off his cast. Parks's arm is okay, as if it was never wounded.Parks and James go back to Parks's place, and James brings up the "convoy incident" once more. He gets ready for his rookie partner's funeral. He gives what starts out as a eulogy critical of his partner, but highlights his strengths. In the crowd, he spots someone he recognizes, a reporter named Mark Diaz. Parks is angry with his arrival, but the two meet outside the church. Diaz doesn't let Parks in on his knowledge, only telling him that his killer was dead and being examined in the morgue. Diaz tells him that a war is breaking out, he just got himself into it, and to step away while he can.
  9. Parks goes to the morgue and finds his killer has some kind of strange regenerative healing ability. Even after death, the corpse's body patches itself up. Two agents from the Department of Homeland Security, Marcus Matthews and Dawn Paulsen approach and take the killer's body into federal custody. In anger, Parks gives the body to Homeland Security. As he steps out to smoke another cigarette,
  10.
  11. Diaz waits there for him. He explains that a "Dawn Paulsen" grabbed the body. He realizes the name is from the convoy incident. He contacts James who admits the two broke contact after the entire incident.
  12. He contemplates calling "Doc" but decides against it after knowing that he probably wouldn't want to talk to him following the incident.
  13.
  14. That night, he has nightmares about the incident, his post traumatic stress of losing another person setting itself in. He wakes up in cold sweats crying, holding himself responsible for the incident. His wife consoles him, and he gets an email from Diaz who sends him an annotated medical report which says that he should be dead. This changes in the medical report. Someone had left his machinery on and Parks had come back to life, as if from the dead. Attached to the medical report is security footage which puts "Agent Dawn Paulsen" in a set of scrubs injecting something in Parks's IV. He steps speaks with his rookie partner's fiancee with his wife. The three have dinner, but Parks once again is called in for work related purposes.
  15.
  16. Internal affairs meanwhile calls Parks over. They find that Dawn Paulsen wasn't actually a cop. Parks ends up under investigation, but his union rep gets him out of trouble. Parks leaves the station, finding James in his car. James claims to have been paid to get Parks home safely. They're "pulled over", but seeing the gang tattoos, Parks orders James to floor the gas pedal. After a short chase, the two get away, Parks no closer to solving the case. James and Parks go their separate ways after James gets him home.
  17. A few days later, Parks is refreshed and reading into the case. He looks into Dawn Paulsen, finding her to be an employee with Knight Pharmaceuticals.
  18.
  19. He decides to go about detaining her himself and shows up to her work looking to detain her. She meets him, and admits that she was "roped in with him". Parks arrests her, but Dawn begs him not to go through with arresting her out of fear for her life. She protests and claims that the Pharma company is the safest place for her. Parks puts her in the cruiser and claims that Parks is in over his head. Dawn confirms her brother is the war hero during the convoy incident, "The Hero of Houston".
  20. While crossing an intersection, Parks is incapacitated once again and on painkillers after a truck runs over his unmarked cruiser. Masked men step out and mistakenly shoot Parks's plate carrier in the chest thinking he was reaching for a gun. He's investigated by internal affairs, and IA clears Parks of any and all charges saying "they were scratching out all the possibilities".
  21. He does more digging into the company, and is placed into a new task force, Task Force Liberty. Agent Matthews is in charge of it. TFL is in charge of handling human trafficking. They have received a tip from inside the truck that it is carrying 40 children and passing through town. They coordinate an operation to take the truck down. The operation goes down and a massive clusterfuck as unknown shooters begin opening fire on the police and the truck.
  22.
  23. Parks chases two men in military fatigues out of the truck, and realizes the combat medic that pulled him out of the "convoy incident" is one of the fatigues, alongside the 240 gunner he was with. He watches another task force officer get thrown out of a window into a dumpster. Before he can do anything else, he watches "Doc" get picked up by another car.
  24.
  25. One of the fatigues escapes, the other one runs off.
  26.
  27. A fistfight between the DHS and the local PD ensues after a battle over chain of custody happens, but Parks refusing the feds to take another inch of evidence from him outright refuses this, standing up to them. He cuts the lock off to the back of the truck, which gets him punched in the face, causing a brawl to happen between DHS agents, local SWAT, and uniformed officers. Because of this, one of the task force officers is fired, with Parks having a pending suspension from duty. He puts it together and realizes the two being taken into federal custody are most likely slated to be killed, as somehow the DHS is involved with all of this. Parks springs his two former battle buddies free because of this, claiming he had a gun to his head. He's suspended with pay.
  28. Jackie is revealed to be Doc/Donovan Paulsen's/Don's(ex wife). She points out how strange it is that those people from Don's past just happen to show up. He realizes that he's seen Matthews before, during his last deployment. He contacts Don, and finds government agents staking out his house as he does. Parks calls internal affairs and the government agents drive off after he tells them about the stakeout.
  29.
  30. He calls Diaz to follow up on a lead. The two agree to meet, but when Parks arrives the door is ajar. He goes inside and finds Diaz has gone mad. Task Force Liberty arrives and Jackie kills Parks in self defense. Parks notices Diaz has ziptie burns on his wrists. He looks through the house and steals a flash drive.
  31. He's cleared once again and pulled off suspension. Parks goes to the station and plugs the flash drive and a headset in. A video is in it with a confession from Dawn, who admits to trafficking children into the ports of Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, then implicates Matthews to being complicit in all this. Matthews shows up behind Parks and asks if they can compare notes. He asks Parks what he made of Don, but Parks claims to not have known them.
  32. On his way home, Parks's home is broken into, his wife claiming to have held the attackers back with a revolver. By the time he gets there, they're all being arrested. Elena also managed to get herself a german shepherd puppy to make Parks feel better in the process. The home invaders come off as completely incompetent, and during their escape, their car battery died, and some masked figure beat them up.
  33. They're interrogated and one of the goons, Hernandez reveals that they were arguing whether to kill Parks's dog, but Hernandez voted against out of fear that Parks was going to come back and kill them. He admits that they were jumped during the home invasion by a masked figure and shot at by Elena. Having arrested the motorcycle helmet clad man, they interrogate him and find that he was at the convoy incident as well. They reveal Matthews was former Army CID.
  34. Parks steps out and tries to get Matthews pulled off the TFL task force. Steele claims he'll try to investigate these claims, but as Parks steps out, calls an unknown figure to tell them about Parks potentially being in too deep. He finds out about an arrest against a "possible terrorist" and watches Doc's daughter get black bagged while other agents beat up one of her friends. The two get into a fight over the black bagging.
  35.
  36. Following this, he follows more leads into who shot at the truck. He finds that the people that shot at the truck were a militia trying to stop the human trafficking. Believing them to have been in on it, they believed themselves to have the right to free the children. They reveal to him that Matthews had used the enhanced soldiers against the American convoy to test out their tactical and military strength. He shows video proof. Shaken by this, Parks asks him for his source.
  37. It's Mark Diaz.
  38.
  39. The militia leader, Shaw, reveals to Parks that they never meant to put him in the crossfire and that Diaz had been dosed with psychoactive drugs to increase his aggression against others, that a drug had been manufactured by Knight Pharma to increase feelings of focused rage. In order to know more, they kidnapped Dawn Paulsen, as she was on the team engineering the drug. Shaw admits to fighting human trafficking after witnessing the carnage it brought in Bosnia.
  40.
  41. Parks agrees to work with them. Along the way, they find out that Don managed to get locked in a storage unit and called 911 about it. Jackie and him get into a fight there, but Don is pulled away. The two go their separate ways.
  42. He gets the suspended Turner to help him with his case, in the woods of Northern Arizona. He tells him that if he isn't back in 12 hours to send help. After walking for 10 miles, he finds the militia base inside of an old decommissioned missile silo. He meets with Shaw who passes over a healthy and happy Dawn to him. He admits that anytime they tried to go through the right channels they were ignored or just disregarded. Vera Lynn's, We'll Meet Again plays over the loudspeakers. Shaw realizes that everything has just gone to hell and sends Parks out with Dawn.
  43.
  44. The cartel they had been working with(the same one who shot Parks) turns on the militia and launches an ambush inside the site alongside the agency. He patches into their comms and fights his way out, with Shaw being killed along the way. He makes it out with Dawn, riddled with gunshot wounds. Turner is found dead in the SUV, but once again Dawn rescues Parks. She reveals that they've been working on nanites that repair a person's body.
  45.
  46. James is revealed to have been right.
  47.
  48. A fox girl greets Parks with a tray of food. He eats, heals up, and investigates the rest of Knight Pharma. He goes into the basement labs...
  49.
  50. Parks goes down into the basement labs and passes a decontamination section. Using Dawn's keycard he explores the offices and labs. He goes into Dawn's office, and with some poor cybersecurity gets her password off of a sticky note on the computer. He looks through Dawn's computer and finds human experimentation proof. He finds emails with fights between her and Marcus, and finds out that she was knowing of the convoy incident.
  51.
  52. He opens the drawer and finds a red Gameboy. He calls Dawn using her office phone and admits that Matthews used his connections to promote her and that they had a relationship at one point. Finding this out, she tried to cut ties with him but was dragged back in, in fear of her brother being hurt by this whole incident. He finds out more about what killed Diaz, a serum called "Darkheart" which increases aggressive tendencies for five minutes. He watches a test subject brutally murder another with their bare hands for three minutes, then watch as PMCs come in and shoot him dead. He also finds out Matthews is Special Activities Division.
  53.
  54. He finds the Colonel who was at the base was also heavily involved with the convoy. Before he can find out anything else, Matthews comes out with a gun pointed at Elena's skull. Parks escapes and leaves behind his own wife. He brings the flash drive full of evidence to Steele. Steele brushes off Parks and says he'll get officers on it. Realizing no one is out to help him, Parks goes to a bar to drink his sorrows away, exhausted. He finds Don and a few of his old unit there, but out of pride decides not to involve them in his next plan.
  55.
  56. He passes his friends a flash drive and tells them that if anything happens to him, to leak everything online. He steps out, gets himself a rifle, and goes to the Homeland Security office to Matthews's office. He figures out Matthews has a family, but in his desk has stacks of money along with multiple IDs and passports. He finds files implicating him in the "Incident at MSR Houston".
  57. On the way out, Parks is black bagged and put in a warehouse. He hears his wife raped and murdered in another room, which breaks Parks. In the face of all this however, he laughs at it all, realizing how fucked Matthews is. The realization that he was in over his head hits, but on the same token he has made Matthews public enemy number one. He realizes it was all worth it, and smiles as he takes his final breath.
