- 1) No translocators. ArenaMaster is designed to measure skill, not how fast we can run from the opponent.
- 2) Disable Challenge Mode. Losing health after every win makes perfect sense for bots, which are at a fixed (and pathetic) skill level. When against humans, this is just a handicap towards the weakest player and prevents a fair game.
- 3) Allow rounds to tie. Lag can cause the higher-ping player to lose a round because their shot did not arrive before the end of the round, but ArenaMaster will still register a fired shot.
- 4) Disable end of game ceremony. It's ugly.
- 5) Disable modified translocator. While a lot of servers use it, it doesn't match vanilla UT2004.
- Game Ethics
- ===========
- 1) Don't pick a map that is unreasonably large or small, nor a map that alters game physics (incl. low gravity). A well-rounded map is a well-rounded measure of skill.
- 2) For the sake of preventing 3SPN glitches, don't pick maps that allow the player to fall off into space.
- 3) Don't hide in your favorite part of the map. That's cheap and frustrating.
