The Awakening ch.15

    In Italy in the small nation of the Vatican down a dark alleyway is a normal looking door against a stone wall. On this door on the top right corner is a gold cross with wings and a halo upon it, and the middle of this door has a small sliding window as though it were the entrance to some private club or bar. Beyond these doors lies a most unusual sight, a brightly lit room with cushioned seats, a ceiling fan, and a secretary style desk complete with a flat screen computer. Behind this desk sits Brother Keene in his brown monk style robe.

    On This desk of Brother Keene’s is also a small stylish corporate style phone. This phone rings and Brother Keene picks it up after the usual exchange of the secret password. Rick on the line calling informs Brother Keene of the incident in the desert involving the two new monsters, the dragon and this new demon called “Litmet”. He did however leave out the part about the dream and Litmet speaking directly too him over the radio for fear of being locked up by his superiors per their protocol in such a case.

    Brother Keene asks, “What do you suggest sir should be done about this new development?”

    Rick responds, “That’s why I am calling and telling you all this, the situation has gone beyond what Al’Suad and I can handle especially with our limited equipment here. I need you to immediately go to the Head Inquisitor and inform him about what’s going on here. It is urgent you do that immediately like I said and tell them all the details I told you, I can’t stay on any longer I am too close to the enemy camp, they could pick up on this call.” With that Rick hung up hoping Brother Keene does as he asked.

    Brother Keene rushed to the Head Inquisitor’s office, however he was not there. Looking about Brother Keene found the gold robed Inquisition Summoner, Brother Keene asked this man, “Excuse me, but have you seen the Head Inquisitor? I have an urgent message for him.”

    The Summoner says in his oddly deep voice, “He is in the Balcony room of the Inquisition room.”

   As Brother Keene rushes off around the corner unseen by him the Summoner’s eyes glow a fiery red as he smiles than vanishes into thin air. Brother Keene goes up a flight of stairs near the door to the inquisition room to find the purple robed Inquisition guard guarding the door.

    Brother Keene says to him, “I have to go in there; I have an urgent message from Brother Rick to the Head Inquisitor.”

    The Guard says, “Sorry, but The Head Inquisitor and the rest of the council are in the middle of an Inquisition session at the moment.”

    Brother Keene thinks, “Who could they be questioning? The only person to have come back here from the waiting room is…Brother Mike?”

    Brother Keene asks, “Are they questioning Brother Mike?”

    The Guard says, “Yes”

    Brother Keene asks, “Why would they be questioning him in there?”

    The Guard says while shrugging his shoulders, “Well from what I can hear them discussing through the door it seems he went to some place in America called Pine Ridge and was pursuing some were-wolf with out orders. You know they have been getting stricter since word reached them about Brother Mike doing that, it was only a matter of time before they called him in.”

    Brother Keene asks, “Can I at least wait here?”

    The Guard shrugs and says, “Why not? You can pretty much hear them in there if you listen, should be easy to tell when they are about done.”

    Brother Keene along with the Guard commenced to eavesdrop on the Council inside hearing one voice say, “He sounds like he is describing Rhuen.”

    And another voice responds, “are you sure?”

    A third voice says, “what if it is him, he is supposedly a Dire”

    Brother Keene can’t take any more of this waiting and rushes past the guard onto the balcony of the inquisition room and with such haste that his hood falls low over his face.

    Brother Keene sees Mike below and goes straight to the red robed Head Inquisitor and says, “Sorry sir but I just got a call from Brother Rick in Egypt, he told me the message was urgent and I needed to tell you about it immediately. In fact sir he told me that twice.”

    The Head Inquisitor says, “Well tell me what it is already we were in the middle of something important here.”

   “Of course sir,” said Brother Keene, “Brother Rick told me that he and Brother Al’Suad are not able to handle the situation, because of some new development. Apparently two more monsters have shown up. He called one of them a dragon or something like that and a second creature called Litmet has shown up. He said these two creatures destroyed a caravan as well. That’s all sir.”

    The Head Inquisitor thinks, “I assume he meant a Doh-Rong, they are known to assume a dragon like form and have been active in that area, as for this Litmet according to our records an angel of death by the name of Litmet was the instrument of God in destroying Sodom and Gomorra but that angel of death went out of control and had to be locked beneath the Earth.”

    He turns to Brother Keene and says, “Thanks, you can go back to your duties.”

    He then turns to the other council members as he stands saying, “This is important I need to go look up something on this creature, if it’s what I think it is we could all be in real trouble.”

    With that Brother Keene leaves the room with the other council members close behind.

   The Head Inquisitor than turns to Mike and says, “A more pressing matter has come to our attention, if you still wish to pursue this case than we recommend that you go and see Father Henry Jones if you return to Pine Ridge, and that you do not attempt to confront Versa or what may be Rhuen, you are out of your league on this one.” With that he rushed out of the chamber.

    The Head Inquisitor Walks into his office, however unknown to him that just after entering the Inquisition Summoner reappeared just outside his door. Inside the Head Inquisitor pulls back his hood to reveal a surprisingly young looking Caucasian face with short cut brown hair and just a wisp of a mustache with no signs of a beard on his face.

   With out warning a deep voice comes from the top left drawer of his desk which strangely doesn’t alarm him in the least, this mysterious voice asks, “What do you plan to do now?”

    The Head Inquisitor sits down and opens the top drawer taking out the source of the voice, a small hand held sized glossy black pyramid shaped object.

    He looks down at this object in his hand and says, “I do not know what I should do.”

   The Pyramid says while flashing a blue light from with in that flashes in rhythm to its words, “Brother Mike faces powerful yet secretive demons that should leave him be so long as he does not provoke them. Brother Rick faces a monster that posed such a danger to the world that the angel Ahm and the demon Rhuen locked it away for fear it would destroy the world. As always however it is your decision what to do as such matters must be left in the hands of mortals.”

    The Head Inquisitor thinks it over for a moment before announcing, “It’s decided then I shall send the Elite Paladins to stop the fallen angel of death Litmet.”
