- As most of you know, Early Hyrule Castle is basically the Holy Grail of Twilight Princess glitches. It's the last big sequence break remaining that could realistically be found, and would skip a pretty significant chunk of the game. We've been pretty close to it for a few years now using the White Midna glitch to avoid having to heal Midna and put the barrier up; the problem is that there was still no way past the door because of the invisible wall blocking it as well as the solid walls extending out of bounds. I am happy to announce that a method has finally been found.
- As it turns out, the invisible wall blocking the door is actually not being loaded as an object from that area. The "wall" is generated by a routine that reads code from a trigger that is set when the cutscene plays when entering Castle Town for the first time. With this in mind, it would seem that somehow avoiding that cutscene would be the best way to avoid the invisible wall being put up. However, for whatever reason, if you delay getting map warp until after that cutscene plays, the trigger will be deactivated once you get map warp and the wall will not be loaded properly until you hard reset. This means that, as long as you enter Castle Town for the first time BEFORE you get map warp, you can just walk right into Hyrule Castle as long as you never heal Midna to put the barrier up.
- This RADICALLY changes the Any% route for this game. Palace of Twilight is now skipped entirely, along with half of Arbiters, half of City, and the entirety of Snowpeak Ruins. However, since you need Barnes's bomb bag to do White Midna, Goron Mines is now back in as well as Fixed EMS. The new (tentative) Any% route is:
