- What is a Focus Week?
- - A Focus Week is where we focus on a single game for 7 days straight, usually with the goal to complete at least one speedrun at the end of the week
- - If you enjoy watching someone figure out and learn about the mechanics and inner workings of a game, or just want to see how someone approaches a new speedrun in a focused manner, this is the place for you
- Why 7 days straight?
- - It is a discipline-thing. I'm lazy by nature and kind of dread the "learning a new game/system/mechanics". But usually, once I already know the system it is a lot of fun to juggle and tinker with the variables and tools given in a game to complete various objectives and challenges.
- - By forcing myself to stay focused on a single game for 7 days straight, only think about that one game and not do anything else, I both get the initial dreadful learning done quicker and keep myself from getting distracted
- Isn't that kind of boring?
- - Yes and no. It depends on what kind of person you are. I am well aware, that this week is mostly for a very, very niche-audience. As a result I want to keep the learning-process as short as possible.
- - Everyone is invited to contribute, teach me, learn alongside me, make suggestions or just share some random stories during this week
- - On the 7th day there will always be a "completed run", where all the work from the week should show it's fruit
