- A Miracle Happens Edition
- 'Sup, doods!
- You are supposed to RELAX when you take time off from your day job, right?
- …Right?
- I do not feel relaxed. At all. I've been very busy moving things around and moving things out. The deadline to move out of the old house was Thursday and we moved out the final things on Wednesday. Considering what we had to get out of the house, that was a bit of a miracle. No, not the miracle I Tweeted about on Friday. Scroll down for that. I also had a scare with my homeowners insurance that I didn't feel the need to mention before. I've been having issues with getting the roof fixed ever since I started closing on the sale. The seller made some fixes on the day of the sale, but I still found leftover issues even this past week. The roof was bad enough for my insurance to drop me entirely unless I replaced the roof. Since I have to keep insurance for my mortgage, I had to panic while I found comparable coverage in tight time constraints. I did find cheaper coverage, thankfully. I could use all the help I can get not using my life savings right now.
- Now for the miracle I Tweeted about, doods. I Tweeted about it on a very early Friday morning. What was the miracle?
- I sat down all Thursday night and finished rendering all of my scheduled YouTube Shorts!
- I have nothing to go back previous and render vertically after every stream like I have been for the past I-can't-remember-anymore time. I can upload the videos on my lunch breaks so I no longer have to be distracted by that portion of my backlog haunting me. It also gives me the freedom to format the Shorts in a more conventional way starting in August. I have no idea what I was thinking with the format I came up with. You have to make room for (remotely) accurate, readable subtitles because ADHD-brain and where was I going to put those, hm? Just make yourself bigger and bite the bullet on everything you wanted to show, 4Head. These Shorts are supposed to be about YOU, NOT the game you're playing! I've been trying to capture my personality in these Shorts, but I haven't been putting the focus on my personality. Props if you actually are trying to learn how to play Puzzle League from my Shorts, but the general audience doesn't care. It's time to start putting some real effort into making the Shorts. Give it a couple of months, though.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:
- Goal #1: record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. The scripts are done! I am now challenging myself to find time amidst my tournament duties to work on recording the gameplay. I would then need voice-over on top of that. I am hopeful to start this before July, but it depends on my focus.
- Goal #2: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts. Moving has pushed this date further and further back.
- Goal #3: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list. I added a list in a dedicated channel in my Discord server. If you have any time to kill and want to contribute, check it out.
- Goal #4: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
- Goal #5: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week—and that S-Hard PB—and that V-Hard WR—and that Easy – S-Hard WR—and that TA Easy PB—and another Easy – V-Hard PB (twice). Standalone archival videos are already attached to my speedrun profile. I'm hoping to make eye-catching productions from each speedrun. I'm considering it to be my personal test to be a YouTuber. I was failing miserably even before this moving thing became a thing.
- Goal #6: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for every game we might play. I have a volunteer to help broadcast the matches in my stead, but I need to get settled in my new place before I engage in too many projects.
- This week's schedule:
- Wednesday @8pm-10pm ET – PPL2025 Koga Open Qualifying Part 1
- Friday @8pm-12am ET – Friday Night Salt Mines: TA2026 Bumpty Open Warmup Edition
- Saturday @2pm-6pm ET – twitch.tv/puzzlespeedrun TA2026 Bumpty Open
- Now if you'll excuse me, doods, I need to get my sleep right again after all this running around. That will be the real miracle. That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
