In the cave they continued their ski-slope-style battle, accelerating the pace of the back and forth. Tails took off after Robotnik.

“Give up, fox, before I stuff your tails and hang them on my wall!” Robotnik jeered his way around columns of stone.

“Sorry, you’re breaking up!” Tails mocked the villain, almost like Sonic would have. “I think your tech has a glitch!” With a few quick button mashes on one of his tool belt’s endless gadget supply, the kid managed to remotely take control of the egg-pod!

“Welcome to Tails Mountain,” the fox said, mimicking a theme park host as he guided Eggman around like a pinball. “For your safety, please keep your arms, legs, and creepy facial hair inside the ride at all times!” In a final move, Tails twisted the pod upside down and collected the compass as it fell from Robotnik’s hands!
