- FLAMBEAR LEVEL-UP LEARNSET
- - L6 Sand-Attack
- - L11: Ember
- - L17: Bite
- - L22: Flame Wheel
- - L33: Fury Swipes
- - L36: Crunch
- - L43: Rest
- - L51: Slash
- - L58: Flamethrower
- TO-DO
- - figure out learnset--do we need thunderpunch? if so, what to teach over? crunch?
- - figure out the whole post-morty section, when to get teleport, which path to take to sanskrit, etc.
- - when/where to catch a surf/fly slave?
- - go thru each fight with a fine-toothed comb to get x item count, then sort out shopping
- - what to do with the deepwater rare candy? consider late-game L57->58 for flamethrower (spinnerless could probably get it before red)
- GENERAL NOTES
- - Start with $3000
- - First item on R101 is Potion, tree is Berry
- - There is a second Berry in Silent Hills after Don
- - Hidden Ether in the corner to the left of the above Berry tree (actually can get it from below, after fighting Victoria)
- - Little girl after Lass Victoria gives you an item depending on the day:
- > Sun: Magnet
- > Mon:
- > Tue:
- > Wed:
- > Thu:
- > Fri:
- > Sat:
- - Down stairs after Clayton, then left, then up, to find another Potion
- - Potion to the right after exiting Silent Hills
- - Hugo's vision is 2 (rotato after Silent Hills). Pass him on the left, then step 1R again before continuing up on the right side of the red path to avoid Colette
- - On entering Pagota, go left to enter Kurt's house, then head to Brass Tower
- - Probably want to buy Paralyz Heal for Brass Tower
- - Pagota Mart
- > Poke Ball
- > Potion
- > Escape Rope
- > Antidote
- > Paralyz Heal
- > Awakening
- > X Defend
- > X Attack
- > X Speed
- - Can get Bill's number at his house from his sister--what's the use?
- - Mom will call you as soon as you step out onto R102--"NO" to saving money!
- - Tree on R102 is Przcure
- - Brass Tower
- > Head right, past rotato, and fight Chow
- > 152xp short of L11, could try and get Ember early?
- > Take stairs, head down and pass Grace (vision = 2). If she sees you, Leer, Scratchx2, Scratchx2 (Twinz Pursuit does a lot lol)
- > Fight Bethany, take stairs, fight Ping
- > Pass Jeffrey from above (vision = 1)
- > Fight Neal (spam Ember, Kurstraw Psywave does a lot)
- > If spinnerless, you will evolve after Neal
- > After taking stairs, head left and pass spinner, grabbing ER. Head down then right
- > Take stairs, talk to Sage, ER out. Go to Kurt's then the gym
- - Spinnerless is 1xp short of L15 for Falkner
- - After gym, heal and get egg at PC, then head north to Bill's to get cut
- - At L17 (Alan), teach Bite over Sand-Attack
- - After spinner, hug the very top edge to avoid the stander and the following spinner, then fight Rival 2
- - Rival 2: X Attackx2, Scratchx2, Scratchx2, Scratch (check the DV necessary to guarantee Cruize 2HKO)
- - Do Bugsy first? in gym, take the right path and avoid benny
- - Radio card: AABAB
- - Herb shop in underground only open on sat/sun. Worth considering, but it will lower happiness, affecting return
- - Whenever you do dept. store shopping, enter basement and via elevator and head right (avoiding spinner) to obtain bike. Make sure to get return on the top floor of dept. store (teach over scratch)
- - After Bugsy, take the boat to teknos
- - enter the PC, then head west after the cutscene (see if it's required to trigger this cutscene or if you can just go straight to the mines)
- - take lower path (field item above the fisherman is a paralyz heal)
- - just west of the mine entrance is TM05 (roar). could grab for money if necessary
- - after the first ladder, there is an x attack straight down
- - fight emma, then right, then up to fight larry. take ladder (item above him is just a great ball)
- - pokemaniac andrew is a dangerous fight. make sure you're at full HP, and consider getting extra experience to get L22 before him so you have flame wheel (teach over leer)
- - right then down from andrew, and to the left is an x defend. head left then up to fight the hiker
- > consider x defend+x spec for this fight, spamming flame wheel. make sure you're at full going in
- - take the ladder, then up and to the right of whitney to take the next ladder. item is PP Up, item down and to the left is iron (consider both for money)
- - take left ladder, then follow path to get HM04. head back and take right ladder
- - catch a slave, or teach strength to volbear, then push boulder to continue. head down then right to take the far ladder.
- - head along track to the left, pushing the cart with strength (item left of the girl is a potion). talk to her to exit
- - after leaving old man's house, take center if necessary, then go to aquarium for rocket section
- - do aquarium, then the gym. x attackx2, x speed on whitney (x spec?)
- - take boat back to westport, then head north to birdon
- - abra can be caught on R103. check encounter rate, maybe teleport strats?
- - berry tree in birdon is przcure
- - birdon mart
- > poke ball
- > potion
- > super potion
- > escape rope
- > repel
- > antidote
- > paralyz heal
- - as soon as you enter the well, rival will challenge, so be ready
- - R3: x attack at least once, maybe twice. need a paralyz heal for this fight (kotora seems to always t-wave)
- - might want x acc for the following rocket fights
- - walk out, don't escape rope (unless you can get an encounter?)
- - take the gym. afterwards, seems you need to head back to teknos in order to cross the boardwalk north, which has been repaired. this is where teleport might come in handy (otherwise you have to pass a bunch of spinners again)
- - Fight Brent, then fisher marvin to the left (x attack on gupgold), biking up and around the pokemaniac
- - the gate north of the boardwalk contains TM35 (guard)
- - figure out the fastest way to get to sanskrit. basically after morty, you need to do the rocket fights at the docks north of sunpoint, then head back to sanskrit to get the key, then go back to the docks, then head east of birdon to jade forest. you will want abra from the game corner (boardwalk). coin case is in the house west of the sanskrit fountain.
- - on R106, pass paulson on the left and go until 3D from him (his vision is 2)
- - jade forest:
- > head upstairs to the left, then right past headbutt guy. get the ether on the ground if necessary (on the right before stairs heading down)
- > make sure you're near full before fighting hiker
- > go left then down then right, taking upper path over female cooltrainer. try and be near full in case you hit her (vaporeon may get a turn)
- - tree after jade forest is a bitter berry
- - after daycare, pass thru grass over top of spinner to avoid his vision
- - on entering jade, head to the house below the mart and talk to the sailor to get HM02 fly
- - take the gym
- - change type chart to final after first fight (preston)
- - after jasmine, head east(?)
- - after bird keeper toby, hug the sign to avoid the beauty
- - continue north to blue forest. enter deepwater to retrieve pryce, continuing toward frostpoint. talk to him inside his house then fly back to blue forest to fight him.
- - in the gym, go straight up from the right side of the entrance, fighting both boarders and attempting to dodge douglas, then fight pryce
- - pryce: returnx2, FW, emberx2 (to avoid heal range on warwolf)
- - fly to frostpoint, talk to pryce's wife, then teach whirlpool to your surfer
- - fly to blue forest and head south to stand city
- - upon entering the gate, rival will challenge you
- > DEFINITELY x acc turn 1, then setup on farfetch'd (need +3 to ohko'd aquarius)
- - once in stand city, take the gym. change back to demo chart at some point before this. spam return thru the gym
- - enter the hideout. the guy at the desk always sees you. go down the stairs then hug the upper wall to avoid the spinner
- - against imposter oak, you probably want to setup on metto to be able to ohko wartortle, otherwise rain dance can lose time, and he can hyper potion on charmeleon. probably x attackx2
- - FWx2 the weezings instead of FP, it never seems to ohko
- - after the cutscene with imposter oak and rival, go straight right and around the wall to avoid the trainer, then take the stairs
- - head left, dodging the spinner, then to the far wall, up and to the right, dodging female grunt spinner from below, then around the wall to take the stairs
- - continue on, fighting the two required male grunts. probably want x acc for the second one. head right then down to face the female grunt
- - there is a hidden full heal in the crook after the female grunt. take the stairs
- - go up and to the right, around the crates to fight the upper grunt (L42 bellrun). then exit through the door
- - walk to the left around the table, heading left until you reach imposter oak
- > need at least +4 to ohko the metto with return. could switch to final chart just to get the fire punch ohko? worth timing
- - after the fight, heal if necessary before heading up. the executive will challenge automatically when you get too close
- - probably x spec on executive, to guarantee weezing FP and pangshi crunch
- - TALK TO COMPUTER FOR THE PASSWORD. escape rope out, then re-enter, take stairs, and head straight to computer to the right (power settings -> shut down power -> confirm)
- - after the cutscene, exit again (escape rope if you can afford another one)
- - fly to westport (2 up)
- - enter the radio tower. on the first female grunt, x spec -> FPx2 (stall with crunch or heal if dig)
- - after second female grunt, dodge the scientist spinner over top (vision = 1)
- - fight triggers instantly at the top of the next set of stairs: x spec, FW, FP
- - consider x spec on scientist marc too (x spec, FW, FW, FW/FP)
- - consider x atk on rich (need better attack to ohko porygon2 most likely); might want a spare x acc in case of octazooka. definitely want to ohko porygon2 bc recover
- - executive on the top floor: x spec on houndoom. this should guarantee ohkoes on everything
- - heal before gio if necessary. x specx2 -> FW/FP spam. definitely want guard spec for this fight (setup first turn on persian, keep full heals for t-bolt para). possibly x specx3 to ohko rhydon, thus protecting against EQ critical
- - exit radio tower and head south
- - spinner after camper dean has vision of four, so pass around him through the grass below
- - do red's gym trainers in any order, then attempt to leave for red to show up
- - after red, fly to silent, then head north through the gate. rival will challenge you as you pass up through the cave
- - TM26 EQ is about a 25s detour, not counting the time to teach it. it would be obtained before bird keeper roy
- - once at the top of the mountain, in the final room, fight andy rather than the soldier (go left and around)
- - x acc for koga
- -lance: x atkx2, return, x atk, crunch, return spam
