- Janice realizes that, as she is growing older and has more responsibilities, she is losing interest in the cove. Everyone tries to convince her that she "can not leave the magic" (non-menacingly, might I add), and try to change her mind about leaving the Cove. Janice later realizes that if she leaves the Cove, The Cove ceases to exist because she created the Cove as an imaginary world of refuge from her horrible real life. Almost everyone in the Cove is a representation of people she knows in real life. She tells everyone this, and they react sadly. She tells them the harsh reality. And they're frightened for their lives (screaming).
- Janice realizes the harsh reality and breaks down crying. She recompiles her emotions and calms the Cove down. She makes them realize that even if their lives are almost over, they shouldn't be sad because it's done. They should be happy because they got to live it in the first place. Janice pauses for a second and says to everyone: "Forgive me for what I'm doing". She repeats "forgive me" over and over as she leaves the cove for good. Everyone on the cove decides the best thing to do is to live as normal until the inevitable. The series ends with the covers doing exactly what they did during the beginning of the pilot as the credits play with a lyrical, somber version of the Candle Cove theme, which is what you'd expect
