- I wanted some time to think about the event, and I'm lazy so whatever. Had a really good time and I think being at a nerd con for 4 days is just about perfect for length. I got to meet all the people and play all the games while doing some fun commentary.
- Let me first address the dropping of Brave Fencer Musashi. Just to put full honesty out there. I was having a hard time giving a shit enough to practice the game and do runs. It was certainly forced. I still wanted to do it and finally (after 3 years of trying) have the game in an event and be given the opportunity to showcase what I feel is a very underrated speedrun. I came home for a schedule 6 weeks off, which was plenty of time to get things in order.
- My second day home I was given the opportunity to buy into a hunting lease. I've also been trying to do this since I moved to Texas four years ago. If you don't know, a hunting lease is a plot of land (in this case 3,800 acres) in which you pay an annual fee to the land owner to be able to hunt for wild game on their property. It also happened to be that the month of April is spring Turkey season in Texas. I put hunting and the lease in priority over practicing Brave Fencer Musashi. I contacted Puwexil at the beginning of April and let him know I'd be dropping the run - I felt like that was fair to the people with back up games who WANTED to actually do their run to be let into the event. Also, we got a DQ1 race out of it - so it was a good trade.
- Anyway, I'll just list people I hung out with and give them shoutouts etc. The event was cool, very chill and laid back. Would recommend if you have any reservation about going - it's worth.
- *MY CREW*
- This is the people I ended up spending the most time with
- - Bichphuongballz: My roomie and homie. Was a great time chillin yet again. Was more than honored to get to do commentary for FFL - a seriously sick run delivered. Thanks for giving me freedom to be an asshole on your couch.
- - Cleartonic: Was great to get to hang again. Glad I wasn't a drunk babbler this time. Thanks for carrying the Goemon load and keeping me between the ditches for FFL. Looking forward to making you shake your head again soon.
- - elehex: The literal chillest dude. Thanks for hauling us around and always being down to kick it. Never forget the jungle.
- - Liin: You sly son of a bitch. Nice FF6 run, if we meet again on Toad's Turnpike I'm gonna turn this fucking car around.
- - ShadowKiller: So glad we got to meet my man. Our conversation on hunting and fishing was hype as fuck, and I feel like we need to do a super lame wifey double date one day.
- - sumdeaner: B double D. 100% surprise of the trip. I actually knew nothing about deaner prior to this week, and I'm sooooo thankful I do now. Streams for all the right reasons, a living legend.
- *B O W L I N G B O Y Z*
- Went out one night with a GANG of people. Didn't get to formally meet a few, but those I did were too hot
- - Spikevegeta: Always good to see you my dude. The magical bond between our flesh is one I won't soon forget
- - Raelcun: What a pleasant surprise. I had no notion of how you got down, but GOT damn did we have a good time rollin' balls
- - Midboss: What a tragedy we didn't connect for Snowboard Kids 2. Thanks so much for letting me ride in your trunk, and I look forward to potential hangs in the future
- - Adam: I saw that smile!
- - Keizsaron: 1 7 8
- Sorry to everyone I missed, but be assured you're all great. I'm glad I got to meet jhobz finally - he's just as cute irl.
- *Everyone else*
- It's funny how events work out and people group up. Didn't spend enough time with these folks, but take it as it comes
- - Moon Bros: Yenja32, bowie, HS, eLmaGus - It's been years online and finally we got that sweet warm embrace. Everyone was certainly as advertised - now if only we could pull y'all away from the stream room and randomizer to actually hang out........
- - Philosoraptor: My fellow J man. Always good to see ya dude - we didn't pokemon go, but at least we got to bump uglies.
- - THElcc: I feel like we had a chance to hang and then I didn't see you for days haha. Samurai Legend next time. Just thankful I have a face I can put to the name I despise when I get talked down to about Musashi :D
- - Highwind - My dude. Was sick to meet and hang out fa'sho. Next time the drinks are on me and we are playing some DQ board games
- - Aithere - Fucking lit
- - Yagamoth: Always nice chatting. Genuinely great dude, and I'm excited for the 1:41 grind :D
- - Caeshura: I've finally met someone who knows more about bich's ass than I do!
- - Shentok: I'm bummed we didn't get a chance to nerd out on Saturn. Was nice to say what's up
- - Aleck: You may not know it, but you single handedly saved the casual gameplay for the weekend. Glad we got to finally pull off our trade, next time sanic
- - Quis: deuceHey indeed! Glad we had stellar high fives, hugs, and wine was flowing. +10 to immune defense
- - Lisa: Super brief, super sweet - was nice to finally meet :D
- - Sinister1: Nice to get to chat again. I'm still looking forward to THE race of the century
- - Prof. Palmer: If you weren't doing 37 hour runs we should have done some PE shit. Anime still sucks. Vape life.
- I think that basically covers it? Big ups to the staff for doing their thing and keeping it together. I got to see meta, stinger, vula sprinkled throughout in the practice room - but they busy af for all the right reasons. Was good to see y'all still.
- RPGLB is a sick event though, and fun. If you have any reason not to go it's wrong. Check it out if you can!
