  1. ##Guy vs Corv:
  2.
  3. #Corv 1:
  4.
  5. * Compares Team Guy to needle in haystack. Wincon is finding Ratt in mass of rats.
  6. * Vice City map doesn't have extensive sewer system. Rats will need to travel in the open where they're easily seen.
  7. * Kraven's pets eat rats in real life, are good at hunting them.
  8. * More rats killed, harder it is for Ratt to hide.
  9. * Even if sewers were viable hideout for rats, Team Corv would simply never enter them, send in Kraven's snakes instead.
  10. * Kraven has super senses. Ratt squeaks and is noisy.
  11. * Guts can also detect Ratt by proximity w/ magic brand.
  12. * The Ratt rats have to direct their stand's aim which would stand out. They are also visually distinct from other rats.
  13. * Kraven has feats for detecting mad science surgical enhancement from very far off and Rat King is a weird genetic experiment.
  14. * Damage to stand = damage to user. Team Corv can just hit the stand to kill Ratt.
  15. * Guts is armoured. Kraven is fast. Stand darts are unlikely to hurt either.
  16. * Even if darts got through armour, armour makes Guts immune to pain and puppets his body even if he can't move his limbs. Could keep fighting while melting.
  17. * Rat King lacks piercing res good enough to stop Team Corv's swords/knives.
  18. * Kraven also has poisons/rays/power inhibitors that get around Rat King's dura.
  19. * Kraven fast, skilled, compensates in straight melee for being less of a brick than Rat King.
  20. * Guts just blends rats with his huge ass sword. They can't get through his armour.
  21. * Kraven has AOE explosives that could help thin the rat swarm.
  22. * Kraven is good at setting traps, which would also thin out the rat swarm before it got to them.
  23.
  24. #Guy 1:
  25.
  26. * Map vastly favours rats for mobility. Lots of evidence for rats being good at traversing and hiding in urban spaces.
  27. * Kraven's main pets are all stealth predators who don't do well hunting in cities. Rats have good senses, can go places they can't follow, won't get ambushed.
  28. * Guts's brand won't work. Ratt and Rat King are basically nonsapient animals. Lack capacity for evil.
  29. * Kraven's sense of smell won't help here. Vice City is full of NPC rats he won't be able to tell apart from Rat King's swarm.
  30. * Rats are in their element. Kraven's hunting skills are of limited use.
  31. * Ratt has better vertical mobility, can snipe from a rooftop.
  32. * Rats control engagement.
  33. * Team Guy lures people into favourable ambushes. Will hunker down in a building and have Ratt snipe from above.
  34. * Kraven can only avoid the darts if he knows they're coming. Stand and its darts are invisible and Ratt will be sneak attacking.
  35. * Ratt darts melt metal even if they fail to pierce. Will melt through Guts's armour.
  36. * Even if Team Corv closes to Ratt, Ratt just retreats into the rat infested building and they all gang up on them.
  37. * Rat King is strong af, better striking than Team Corv's blunt dura.
  38. * Guts's sword is too unwieldy to use in the sort of confined spaces where Rat King will ambush.
  39. * Rat King is acrobatic and slippery to fight. Hard to tag him.
  40. * Kraven can't bring all his gear with him from inside the van. Burden of proof on Corv Kraven would bring the anti-Rat King gear into the building without foreknowledge of his opponent.
  41. * Team Corv will be fighting Rat King while being swarmed with rats. Guts gets slowed and blinded by them crawling all over him. Kraven gets pierced by rat teeth.
  42. * Kraven's explosives are only viable engaging rats from distance. Can't use the RPG when the rats are on top of him already swarming.
  43.
  44. #Corv 2:
  45.
  46. * Predators have better senses than prey. Rats only have better senses than humans because they're small (?)
  47. * Rat senses regularly fail to stop cats from hunting them.
  48. * Kraven has snakes and birds that are really good at killing rats. Every one of them can kill a lot of rats. It adds up.
  49. * Reiterating, Ratt rats don't look like any other rats here. Easy to pick out in a crowd.
  50. * Kraven's pet hawk would easily detect Team Guy from across the map before they had a chance to scatter and hide. Hawks fly, have good eyesight.
  51. * Rats can only burrow through shitty concrete. Worse mobility than Guy claims.
  52. * Kraven can specifically detect Rat King, might be able to detect Ratt directly too if stands smell anything like cybernetics (?)
  53. * Ratt is violent in a way that goes beyond animal survival instincts. Rat King is a villain. Brand reacts to their evil.
  54. * Would take like 5 darts to fully melt someone. Kraven is good at dodging.
  55. * Berserker Armour is malleable, changes shape to aid Guts. Would probably seal holes melted through it by darts.
  56. * Kraven can bypass Rat King's physicals with skill and gear. Guts has a big sharp sword and a cannon which both pierce him and throwing knives that could poke out his eyes.
  57. * Kraven can carry most of his relevant gear. Rays are built into his vest, his knives and poisons are on his belt. Has two free hands for whatever.
  58. * If rats spread out, there aren't enough of them at once to pose a threat.
  59. If rats hunker down together, concentrated rat stank makes their position obvious to Team Corv. Turns into a killbox when Kraven fires a rocket into the building.
  60. * Ratt sniping is bad on this map. Lots of cover to hide behind, LOS blocked by buildings.
  61. * Even if Team Corv can't see darts, could look at where darts landed to determine roughly where they're sniping from. Gives away their location quickly.
  62. * Kraven is agile and acrobatic. Easily scales a building. Can catch Ratt.
  63. * Guts is also fast and agile.
  64. * Kraven and Guts move too quickly for rats to find purchase crawling on them.
  65. * Superior travel speed with van + recon with animals means Team Corv can choose when to engage and when to withdraw.
  66.
  67. ##Guy 2:
  68.
  69. * Big cats would suck at hunting rats with no tall grass to hide in. Blocked by obstructions rats easily squeeze under or through.
  70. * Snakes don't move around much and can only eat one or two rats before they have to go digest for a day.
  71. * Birds of prey similarly eat like one or two rats before they're full.
  72. * They probably aren't even catching the right rats since the city is full of them.
  73. * Ratt is an animal, it's not evil. It's behaving like any territorial animal would if you gave it a gun.
  74. * Rat King only fights the turtles because they barge into his home. Only starts hunting them because he dimly remembers them attacking him earlier in his life. Is barely sapient, if at all.
  75. * Kraven is a supervillain, would give Guts a false positive.
  76. * Team Corv cannot get to Team Guy's position without alerting them. Ratt senses humans on foot from hundreds of m away. If they drove in the Kravan it'd be obvious.
  77. * Team Guy don't just hunker in one place and stay immobile, they string opponents along while harassing until they can lead them to optimal ambush spot.
  78. * Kravan is easily disables by melting one wheel. Prevents Team Corv from bringing heavy hear like rocket launchers.
  79. * Scouting is also hampered by Ratt's long distance detection.
  80. * Darts are part of the stand, are invisible, Kraven can't dodge.
  81. * Kraven especially can't dodge while he's trying to climb the building Ratt is sniping from.
  82. * Ratt explicitly likes sniping from a high vantage, which advantages it on this map.
  83. * Guts's armour has no evidence for being able to regenerate destroyed parts. Can't fix holes Ratt melts.
  84. * Reiterating, darts melt on contact even if they bounce off.
  85. * If Team Kraven try to withdraw after starting a fight as Corv suggests Ratt would shoot them in the back and Rat King could throw things at them.
  86. * If they enter a rat infested building, they'll have to simultaneously avoid Rat King's extremely powerful strikes and Ratt's invisible shots while in an enclosed space.
  87. * Guts's longsword is hampered by map. Kraven's gear is mostly one off/one use. Rat King's wincon of "punch you" is much more reliable.
  88. * Rats will surround and swarm Team Corv from all angles inside the building. Movement speed doesn't save them.
  89. * Rat King is skilled at fighting multiple opponents at once. Will land more solid hits on Team Corv than they can on him.
  90.
  91. ##Corv 3:
  92.
  93. * Vice City isn't Miami.
  94. * There is no substantial sewer system to hide in.
  95. * Kraven's pets don't have to eat rats to kill them.
  96. * If Ratt is actively malicious, it procs Guts's brand.
  97. * If Ratt is just an animal, then it won't go after Team Corv and will instead wait until they appear to be threatening it.
  98. * If Ratt is under Rat King's control, he won't know how to optimally command and position them to use their stand effectively.
  99. * Guy also characterises Rat King as animalistic. If true, would mean limited complex planning. Would be reactive rather than proactive.
  100. * If Ratt climbs a rooftop to snipe, it isolates itself and makes it easy for a bird to swoop in and kill it.
  101. * Melting is nonlethal to people for a long time.
  102. * Reiterating, Ratt blows its position after one shot.
  103. * That first revealing shot might be against an animal instead of Team Corv proper, further reducing Ratt's effectiveness as a sniper.
  104. * Ratt is only able to lead people into ambushes because it's familiar with the territory. It is not familiar with Vice City.
  105. * Hunkering down in a building for an ambush would take too long for Team Guy, leave them exposed for Kraven's animal scouts to detect.
  106. * Once they actually centralise inside a rat infested building, they open themselves up to being killed by an AOE weapon like an RPG. They have no way of knowing Kraven has a rocket launcher.
  107. * Hunkering down doesn't even provide meaningful benefits to compensate for making it easier to kill lots of rats at once.
  108. * Brand would not proc on Kraven because he is reformed and no longer evil. Brand stip specifies it works on opponents anyway.
  109. * Kraven has several vans. Shooting one wouldn't really matter, they're fast on foot anyway, and trying to shoot them as they were travelling would blow Rat King's cover.
  110. * Armour generates new material. It's magic so it can't be melted anyway (?)
  111. * Team Corv has reliable ways to take out Rat King.
  112. * Team Corv can easily leave if things go south.
  113. * No evidence of any confined space on the map where Rat King could lead them where Guts's sword would be hindered. He could simply leave even if there was.
  114. * Given that Team Corv don't need to approach, there is a chance Ratt just starves to death since Jojo rats have a stupidly fast metabolism.
  115. * Team Guy might neat to approach a position that Kraven has trapped up and Guy hasn't shown any evidence they could do this.
  116.
  117. ##Result:
  118.
  119. This was a fun one.
  120.
  121. **Things I Buy:**
  122.
  123. * Kraven can sniff out Rat King specifically and detect the rat swarm if they cluster together.
  124. * Kraven's birds can scout out Team Guy fairly quickly and divebomb Ratt if it climbs a building.
  125. * Kraven can bring most of his relevant gear (rays, knives, poisons) with him wherever he goes.
  126. * Kraven can disable Rat King's powers or poison him.
  127. * Kraven's pets and traps kill a not insignificant number of rats.
  128. * Kraven can probably keep fighting with one or two darts in him.
  129. * Kraven can dodge the darts once he knows they're coming.
  130. * Guts pulps rats and doesn't care about them swarming him.
  131. * Guts's armour probably blocks at least one shot and keeps him going even if he's melting. (I don't buy the "magic steel" not melting without any scans)
  132. * Both Guts and Kraven can pierce Rat King.
  133. * Ratt snipes from a building and lands at least one shot before it blows its position.
  134. * Ratt's darts are invisible and neither of Team Guy could avoid an opening shot.
  135. * Rat King beats either of Team Guy in straight melee and probably does alright even in a 2v2.
  136. * The rat swarm is dangerous to Kraven if they manage to surround him.
  137. * There are NPC rats on this map that would confuse Kraven and his pets. I don't care if it's not Miami, it's *like* Miami and I don't think there's a single American city of that size without a significant rat population.
  138.
  139. **Things I Don't Buy:**
  140.
  141. * Guts's brand probably doesn't proc off of Team Guy. They're basically animals. It's an allowable stip for Guts's brand to treat them like apostles but if they don't pass the evil check I can't see it working.
  142. * Team Guy don't operate as tactically or efficiently as he claims.
  143. * Hunkering down gets Team Guy blown up, even if they harass Team Corv on approach and try to lure.
  144. * Guts probably isn't too impeded fighting indoors.
  145.
  146. Corv wins.
  147.
  148. He successfully demonstrated an effective wincon with Kraven's multiple options for recon and answers to negate Guy's argued strategies. Hunkering down for an ambush doesn't work when Kraven has ways of easily detecting them and blowing up the building. Guts is a walking tank who basically ignores the rats and can slice up Rat King if he lands a decent swing. The Kravans mean they can effectively get around faster than the rats can prepare a response. Most damning was Corv's takedown of the darts as a viable wincon. Guts's armour holding his body together basically negates their threat and the fact that it takes like 6 of them to kill you means Kraven can get hit once or twice and not be out of the fight.
