  1. Adrian sat down in his study, stirring the glass of wine on his table. He rubbed the sides of his temple with his free hand. Day in and day out, it like a new person thirsted for power. A new contender knocked on his door-- seeking that which they could not achieve. The scholar grew tired of the pseudo-bureaucracy, the complications that came with the title of Champion.
  2.
  3. He could not help but think of Morgan Deadwood. He could not help but relate to his desires to be left to his own devices, so that he could pursue his research without having to deal with the burden of leadership.
  4.
  5. Alas, Adrian was not Morgan. No, he was going to adhere what was asked of him. Even when it grew harder and harder with each passing day to do as much. He had to stay strong. If not for him, for his sister. For the colony.
  6.
  7. For the homeland.
  8.
  9. The silver-tongued researcher opened up a large tome, opening up the subsection of notes dedicated to the schematics and runic theory of the device he had been constructing throughout the past year. He was nearly finished.
  10.
  11. The pieces, save for the hinges, had all been constructed. The positioning of the runes had been determined. All that was left was enchanting the various pieces of the contraption to instill it with a specific command directives.
  12.
  13. So that's exactly what he did.
  14. (Adrian Montbell)
  15.
  16. The scholar hovered his hands over the steel-adamantite band that would be located at the center of the bracer, enclosed by two less dense bands of refined steel.
  17.
  18. A ethereal blue energy gathered at the tips of his fingers. Like mist, it flowed from his palms and encircled the steel-adamantite band. The scholar had already familiarized himself with the specific design he would be using. Hell, he had spent weeks perfecting it.
  19.
  20. Now it was time to put theory to practice.
  21.
  22. A runic array encircled the surface of the table of the steel-adamantite band. The strange geometries seemed to crawl across the table and bleed into the surface of the band, the array being established around its circumference.
  23.
  24. Once Adrian had determined all was in order he proceeded without much hesitation. The symbols themselves were etched through the center of the circular array that wrapped around the circumference of the steel-adamantite band.
  25.
  26. Everything was being powered by pure, unadulterated mana. Adrian was his own power source, and he would be more than enough to fuel the directives he had issued. He was no fighter, no. But one could not deny his innate magical ability. The raw potential that loomed over him but never quite came into fruition. And it never would be, unless he made more of an effort to dedicate his time to honing his combative ability.
  27.
  28. At any rate!
  29.
  30. The central runes were finished, after grueling hours of meticulous and precise runewriting. His coordination was unmatched, but it came at a cost. Time.
  31.
  32. But time, as a wise man had once said, was the greatest equalizer. Second only to death. With enough time, anything could be accomplished. The more time dedicated to a specific task the better. It bolstered efficiency. It perfected creations. It removed the possibility of mistakes ever surfacing.
  33. (Adrian Montbell)
  34.
  35. All that was left in regards to the runes were the ones that had to be imbued into the indentations of the steel-admantite protrusions which extended outwards from the center of the bracer itself. Once that was done, and all of the pieces were put together? He could proceed with field testing. And that-- that is when things got interesting.
  36.
  37. Before he could do that, however, he needed to connect all of the layers of the bracer together. He placed the most dense portion of the bracer, the steel-adamantite band, between two pieces of steel layering. The scholar hooked up the hinges he had purchased at the local market, of the best quality money could buy, and attached them to the bracer so that it could open and close around the wrist as he had originally intended it to.
  38.
  39. Adrian dedicated a few moments to make sure that it was in working condition.
  40.
  41. Click, clank.
  42.
  43. The hinge worked! Good, good.
  44.
  45. Onto the smaller protrusions. It had taken Adrian several weeks to work out the runic theory regarding the specific commands that would be etched into the indentions. They had to be small enough to fit inside of the small surfaces and strong enough to connect the elemental shards' energies to the central runic array. Only then, would the bracer function as a ritual storage device.
  46.
  47. It was challenging, but if no one else, Adrian Montbell would be able to pull it off! He began enchanting each of the four protrusions, to the letter. The final aspect involved connecting them back to the central runic array, which wasn't too hard. Hours seemed to pass as if minutes, the scholar unaware of just how much time he had been dedicating to his runewriting.
  48.
  49. Eventually, all was said and done. He connected the protrusions into the device.
  50.
  51. It was done.
  52.
  53. PRFD, 1.0!
  54. (Adrian Montbell)
