- It’s been slow going, but you have finally been rewarded for your efforts. Not with time travel, but with something almost as useful, [Presage of Wounds]. You can finally get accelerate the healing of the broken leg and hopefully, possibly, get rid of whatever illness you have. You were sorely tempted to use it as soon as you got it, but you decide to get back to familiar ground before you try. It’s just a quick jump to the Kypar tree before you’re set to go.
- The leg is first. It’s only a minute with the ability active on it, but as far as the injury is concerned it’s been months, bordering on a year. You carefully remove the cast and get to your feet on your good leg before you try putting any weight on the newly healed one. You’re unsteady on it, but it holds and in a pinch you could run around on it. You’ll settle for walking now though, taking the opportunity to do a couple laps around the cavern and the tree inside it.
- Once you’re done revelling in your newly reclaimed freedom of movement you sit back down against the tree trunk, briefly wondering if you should message Bash. You decide against it though, thinking you’ll surprise him later tonight. You laugh at the thought before refocusing on the task at hand. You cast [Presage of Wounds] on your entire body, but frown when it resists. Like the ability wasn’t quite made for it. Anger boils up inside you; you’re not going to exchange one handicap for another, not now. You cast it again, putting more pluck and focus into it. You will make this work.
- You immediately recognize it as a mistake. What was once sensitivity is now overloading you, every move you make and everything you feel so prominent as to block out everything else. The ability fades as you stop channeling it, unable to do anything but sit and try not to move anything below your arms. Wondering what the hell you’ve gotten yourself in to, and what the hell has infected you.
