~After the Adventure of Sonic 2…~
Having been completely wrecked in Sonic’s last adventure, Dr. Eggman’s fortress, the Death Egg, was now starting to fall to the ground.

Now, apart from the Death Egg falling out of orbit closer to the ground, a huge cloudy mass was floating by.
And a huge shadow hid quietly within the cloud…
Towering mountains, expanding forests… The shadow was an island. It was the huge “Floating Island” drifting through the air.

The Death Egg, which had become a fireball, crashed into the floating island.
Mountains crumbled, and the forests were knocked down.
The tremendous impact greatly tilted the “Floating Island”, gradually lowering its altitude.
Then, finally, the Floating Island collided with the surface of the sea.
A giant wave, also called a tsunami, swelled from the Floating Island, but it did not sink to the bottom of the sea.
The Floating Island held the Death Egg, the huge figure kept lightly above the sea as if nothing happened.

~Sonic and Tails Set Off~
A few days later… On an island far away from where the Death Egg and Floating Island collided.
Miles, the two-tailed fox, had caught a powerful Chaos Emerald response that suddenly started with the jewel radar he had invented.
“Maybe this has something to do with that big tsunami recently…” Seeming to feel that way, Tails went to the beach where Sonic was.

Around that time, Sonic, who was taking a nap on the foreshore at that time, had found a ring drifting onto the sandy beach.
A small ring with something that seemed like ancient characters carved onto it.
Sonic took it, remembering an old legend about a certain “island”.

A long time ago, when the island was still a part of a continent.
There lived a people with an excellent civilization.
That civilization, through the power of a certain “stone of power”, had built a peaceful and prosperous society.
But at some point, the elders who tried to take possession of the “stone of power’s” energy accidentally made that energy go rampant.
The civilization was destroyed in an instant, erased from history.
Then, after this event… the gods flew down from the heavens and restored a part of the civilization as an “island”, and the “stone of power” was thrown into the wide open sky… or so they say.

The drifting ring and the legend of the “island”…
Sonic, who felt nostalgic for some reason, decided to go on an adventure again.

~Dr. Eggman’s Scheme~
Dr. Eggman, who escaped from the crashed Death Egg, noticed that there were Chaos Emeralds on the Floating Island.
He caught it from the cracks in the earth opened up by the Death Egg, a huge Chaos Emerald reaction. If he used that energy, it would be possible for the Death Egg to take off and return to space.

In order to get his hands on the Chaos Emeralds, Dr. Eggman built a base on the Floating Island at a rapid pace.
Then, he kidnapped the animals, remodeled them into robots, and transformed the Floating Island’s nature into a more harsh one through his Environmental Change Machine.

“DAAAH HAH HAH HAH!! Sonic, its too late for you to come to this island! This time, the Chaos Emeralds and the word will be miiine!”

Alright, both actors and stage are all set.
Now, Sonic the Hedgehog’s new adventure begins here.

~Sonic the Hedgehog~
You know him, he’s the world's fastest at the speed of sound hedgehog. He’ll have a great success in this adventure on the legendary “Floating Island”.

~Miles “Tails” Prower~
A cheerful fox with two tails who is Sonic’s partner(?). He wobbles and flies in the sky to help on Sonic’s adventure.

~Dr. Eggman~
The evil genius scientist has appeared again. Will he get his hands on the Chaos Emeralds, his aim being ruler of the world? Or will this character be beaten for all eternity?

~Knuckles the Echidna~
- He is the guardian who protects the Floaing Island’s Chaos Emeralds.
- A marsupial thorny mole. His nickname is “Knuckle”.
- He’s the type that rushes with a short temper, but he is a nice guy.
- Because he is naive and docile, he is easily fooled.
- He doesn’t hate girls, but maybe he’s somewhat not good with them?
- Can dig holes with his specialty gloves, as well as climb up walls.
- His hobby, of course, is digging holes. He is a mole, after all.
- Good at finding hidden routes.
- He can also fly in the sky for just a little bit.
- What he likes is fruit. What he hates is strong sunlight.
