TTYD PAL Info

For the non-Japanese Any% category, it's faster to play on PAL now. This is because the west Rogueport Sewers Goombella tattle has 2 text boxes on French and Italian languages, which allows for a Yoshi Teleport not possible on other versions. Its purpose is to get to the underground town without jumping, which means Super Jump TRE can be done without using Bobbery to remove the fallen pillar, saving ~8 minutes.

You can set PAL to run at either 50 or 60 frames per second. As far as we know, there's nothing exclusive to 50Hz, so I'm playing on 60.

I'm playing on French because even though Italian has overall less text, it also has a post-chapter 1 crash that we believe to be exclusive to the language option.

The game looks like trash because s-video doesn't work with PAL, so I'm using composite cables. It's black & white on my TV, so lucky you guys, you get color.

Bridge Skip doesn't work on PAL because you can't do a 1-frame jump off of water.

There are some different Paper Mode physics that come into play when taking loading zones. This barely affects the run, but I do some different movement before the blue pipe HRG. It's something you might not even notice unless you run the game/are really observant.

PAL is still slower than Japanese, if you were wondering.
