Backstory:  Darric was born in the town of Bluehaven to two half-elven parents.  He came from a long line of adventurers with a storied past, and although his parents had settled down for a quiet life, making a family business as merchants and tavern owners, he always felt like he lived in his ancestors' shadow.  Not to mention that it did seem like fun, and having been exposed to "the arcane" (really just simple prestiditigation) as a child, sought more.  He wanted to learn as much as he could, especially if it wasn't exactly something his parents approved of, and this drive led him to strike out on the road one day.  After a tearful goodbye, he began his career as an adventurer.

Years later, Darric is a reasonably well-known mercenary who will do just about any job for the right price.  He's served crime lords, nobles, common folk, and everything in between.  Although he doesn't have the charm of most in the profession, he's all business and he gets the job done.  However, he's always searching for the chance to do something greater, to really earn his spot among the great Glenwoods of the past.  And it is here that he enters our story...
