  1. Kaidan, Japan
  2. Blaise and the capacitors:
  3. (Jumping from the top of a shipping container, Blaise carries the last of the anima capacitors to the coordinates given to him by Connar (on top of a fuel depot across from The Gungne.) Jumping down from the containers, he lands without making a sound before scaling the side of the fuel depot. In the distance he can see the tower powering the shield, its blue light pointed towards the castle floating ominously in the sky. )
  4. Blaise: (Unslinging the capacitor from his back he opens a control panel on its side.) (Over the com) Ok Doc I’m at the site, how do I configure this one?
  5. Connar: (over com) the power setting should be the same as the last two, the frequency for this one is 222*10^-45 Hz, make sure the two sensors on its side are aligned with the other capacitors, the light on its side will turn green when it’s aligned.
  6. Blaise: (punching in the numbers, he begins to adjust the capacitor until the lights on its side turn green.) All set Doc.
  7. Connar: Excellent work lad, come back to base and… (The com turns to static)
  8. (As Blaise loses the transmission, he can hear the soft thud of feet on the fuel depot. He turns around just in time to see the white rabbit assassin take up an attack stance.)
  9. Blaise: (Cheshire grin) “You’re late for an important date.” (Growls)” Shall we dance? I’ll lead.” (Drawing his sword and charging it with anima as he teleports behind her to attack)
  10. White rabbit: (Sword drawn she charges towards him only to be blocked by his blade. The force of her attack, sends Blaise sliding across the top of the fuel depot. As he hits the metal railing, she throws 4 shuriken in his direction which he is able to dodge.)
  11. (As Blaise is backed into a corner the reptilian eye from the outer dark reappears in front of him. This time his mind is flooded with images of the white rabbit landing a critical blow and him falling to the ground below them. These images are followed by a vision of his blade cutting her Achilles tendon.)
  12. Blaise: (thinking for a moment, he puts his sword forward and attempts to slash upward towards the rabbits head, leaving his chest exposed for a fraction of a second.)
  13. White rabbit: (moves in close and attempts to cut Blaise in half, cutting the metal railing behind him in the process)
  14. Blaise: (shifting his weight backwards, the white rabbit’s blade hits its mark and cuts his chest open to the bone, but fails to land a fatal blow.)
  15. (As Blaise falls from the fuel depot and hits the street with a loud thud, the white rabbit seems to gracefully fall and land on her feet beside him.)
  16. White rabbit: (approaching Blaise to deliver the final blow.)
  17. Blaise: Hope this thing knows better than the model. (Hitting his heel against the concrete, a hidden blade shoots from his shoe. With a sweeping kick, he buries the blade in the back of the white rabbit’s heel and with a swift pull, severs her Achilles tendon.)
  18. White rabbit: (crying out in pain she stumbles back into a stack of shipping containers that seem to tip over in an almost Rube Goldberg esque fashion.)
  19. (Behind the stack of shipping containers there is a group of infected apes, sensing intruders in their territory, they begin to charge toward Blaise and the white rabbit.)
  20. Blaise: (pulling himself to his feet, he seems to blink out of existence as he reappears over one of the infected apes and severs its head.)
  21. White rabbit: (limping away from the battle, she cuts the arms and legs off of one of the charging apes.)
  22. (The more of the apes the two of them seem to cut down the more of them seem to appear, finally the white rabbit seems to have had enough. Taking a strange controller like device from her jacket pocket, she hits a button and seems to vanish through a black hole. As she vanishes, time seems to slow down before stopping.)
  23. Blaise: (Looking at the mobs of frozen apes, he wonders how long the reprieve will last. His attention is soon drawn to the sound of a motorcycle growing louder.)
  24. (A red white and blue Honda motorcycle with a side car speeds around the corner before skidding to a stop in front of Blaise.)
  25. Ricky Pagan: Climb on Cat, we got to motor out of here.
  26. Blaise: (Hopping into the side car.) Did doc send you?
  27. Ricky Pagan: (revving the engine Ricky begins to speed out of the docks) He figured something was up when your com went dead, he couldn’t make it in time and Ricky Pagan happened to be in the neighborhood.
  28. Blaise: was the time thing you or doc?
  29. Ricky Pagan: That’s all the doc Happenin' cat. He gave Ricky Pagan some kind of glowing doodad said it would buy some time.
  30. Blaise: What about the capacitor, shouldn’t we go back to make sure it’s safe?
  31. Ricky Pagan: Bunny’s good, but not that good, she’d never take on all those monkeys at once.
  32. Blaise: (Looking behind them he can see time begin to speed up again as the infected apes begin to gather around the capacitor in a hushed awe. As his Cheshire grin returns to his face, he breathes a sigh of relief) Ginpachi park please, I feel like dancing.
  33. Ricky Pagan: Right on.

  36. Kenzie near the docks:
  37. (The blue light shining from the top of the tower near the docks slowly begins to fade, as the security lights at the base of the tower all go out at once. Kenzie is approaching the tower by the docks accompanied by daemons from the exiled house. As she examines the site from a distance she can see the red glow of the runes that power the second shield, but she cannot see any guards or any sign that there were any people at this site at all. She does notice that the concrete is wet with some kind of slime and she can hear the fluttering of wings in the distance.)
  38. Mask of Kan'Ami: I sense…great joy here, an odd emotion for a suicide, don’t you think? But it’s clouded by something else, the joy seems to be older than this other emotion, a strange mix of anger and longing, a very primal feeling. I want to say lust, but this looks more basic, I doubt it’s a human emotion at all. In fact if I had to guess I would say it’s…hunger.
  39. Kenzie: “That’s not exactly an encouraging thought … or image .” (takes a breath as she continues the panoramic view of her surroundings)
  40. Exiled House guard: (angrily grunting)
  41. Mask of Kan'Ami: We will not venture further in until we are certain this place is deserted.
  42. Exiled House guard: (growling)
  43. Mask of Kan'Ami: Absolutely not I forbid it, I’m the liaison for this mission and my decision is final. If you wish to challenge my authority on the subject, you may resume this debate with the master.
  44. Exiled House guard: (roar of defiance)
  45. (as the guard from the exiled house begins to approach the tower, he is intercepted and carried off by a blurry insect like creature. All that is left of the guard is a pool of blood and the club he had been carrying)
  46. Kenzie: (turning her eyes to the sky, she sees a dark cloud moving in their direction. the fluttering of wings soon becomes a deafening buzzing. The sound is immediately recognizable as that of the locusts from Egypt.)
  47. Mask of Kan'Ami: I think we found the source of the hunger from earlier, would you do me a kindness Ms. Sterling and hide me between those two shipping containers.
  48. (As the mask finishes speaking an enormous black locust descends from the sky and blocks their path to the tower. Letting out a terrifying screech, the rest of the swarm soon descends on their location.)
  49. black locust: (on top of its head appears to be the head and torso of a child that seems to have been fused with the rest of its body. The locust, seems to be giving instructions to the rest of the swarm, directing them to take up strategic positions around the tower and to search the rest of the docks.)
  50. Kenzie: (Takes cover behind two shipping containers.)
  51. (As Kenzie takes cover, she can see the Exiled House guards scattering in all directions, chasing random locus and smashing anything that gets in their way.)
  52. Mask of Kan'Ami: (groning) I'm dreadfully sorry about this Ms. Sterling, they tend not to follow orders unless the master gives them directly.
  53. Kenzie: How does Inbeda get them to listen?
  54. Mask of Kan'Ami: Usually by hitting them, but…
  55. Kenzie: I can do that (sliding from between the shipping containers, she draws her shot gun and begins clearing a path through the locus to the first guard.)
  56. Exiled House guard: (knocking locust from the air)
  57. Kenzie: (grabbing the guard by the arm and flipping him on his back, she plants the heel of her boot on his throat before, finishing off the locust he was fighting.) Follow me.
  58. (Kenzie approaches the four other guards from the exiled house, flipping them, head butting them and twisting their arms to bring them to heel. Eventually she has a wall guards in front of her cutting a path the through the increasingly thick swarm of locust.)
  59. black locust: (moving back a few meters, it lets out a screech that directs the swarm towards Kenzie and the guards.)
  60. (As the swarm begins to descend on them, they begin to burst into clouds of green slime, that eats through the concrete of the docks.)
  61. Kenzie: To me, shields up!
  62. (the guards quickly stop their advance and instead focus their energy on creating a blood shield around Kenzie. )
  63. Kenzie: (ordering the guards to advance, she holsters her shot gun and takes her elemental talisman into her left hand and begins to summon a ice spike to her right hand. )
  64. black locust:(rushing forward, it begins to swipe at the guards, grabbing one of them in its huge claw like pincers and pulling it towards its mouth.)
  65. Kenzie: (throwing the ice spike at the Black locusts pincer, freezing it solid and freeing the guard.)
  66. (the guards finally break their formation and begin attacking the locust legs and the pincers around its mouth.)
  67. Kenzie: (Summoning another ice spike, she waits for the pincer near its mouth to come close to the ground before launching the ice spike at it, freezing the pincer to the ground and limiting the black locusts mobility.)
  68. black locust: (screeching, it opens pores on it back releasing another swarm of smaller locust.)
  69. Kenzie: (unleashing a torrent a fire, she is able to temporarily repel the swarm. Upholstering her shot gun, she rushes forward towards the black locust struggling to free itself. Running up the frozen pincer, and on to the creature's head, she finds herself face to face with the head and torso of the child that had been grafted to the Black locust.)
  70. (The child seems to be in some kind of coma, but approaching the child seems to cause the black locust to fight harder to free itself. )
  71. Kenzie: (taking a knife from her belt, she begins to cut the child free from the locust head.)
  72. black locust: (Screeching and thrashing in an attempt to dislodge Kenzie from its head.)
  73. Kenzie: (As Kenzie finishes cutting the boy free, she grabs him by the waist and yanks him out of the locust head.)
  74. black locust:(Letting out one final screech, it collapses as the swarm of locust around it begin to dissipate.)
  75. (below them the guards from the house in exile, let out a series of celebratory roars.)
  76. Kenzie: (panting while holding the child under her arm.) Destroy the tower!
  77. (the oni rush forward, their clubs held high as they smash the legs of the tower, sending it crumbling to the ground.)
  78. Kenzie: (Looking over the boy, she can tell separating the two has killed him, she runs her hands over his eyes closing them. As she slides down the corpse of the black locust her phone begins to vibrate. She has received an email from Kirsten Geary.)
  79. Kirsten Geary: Congratulations Kenzie, you have passed the first part of your exam, keep up the good work and don't disappoint us.
  80. Ciao-ciao
  81. Kenzie: (sliding down against one of the shipping containers, she dials Connar on her phone) Connar, its Kenzie the towers down.

  84. Gin outside of Ginpachi Park:
  85. (The blue light shining from the top of the tower in Ginpachi Park slowly begins to fade, as the security lights at base of the tower all go out at once. Gin is accompanied by Jingu samurai, and is about 500 meters away from the tower (which appears to be deserted) the glowing red runes pulsating at the base of the tower seem to be completely unguarded.)
  86. Gin: (Gin would look to his Jingu comrades, unslinging his scimitar from his bindings. He’d look up the tower to, moving towards it.) Here goes nothin--. (He paused)
  87. (As Gin and the Jingu move toward the tower, the sky above them seems to darken as a black mist creeps along the ground. The temperature suddenly begins to drop as one of the Jingu seems to freeze in place. As he tries the free himself his leg snaps off as ice begins to creep up the rest of his body. Standing in front of the tower is a creature comprised of the black mist. While its outline is that of a human child, it seems to have no facial features and seems to have difficulty moving quickly.)
  88. Darkness: (pointing towards Gin, a wave of black mist seems to swell up from behind the figure as it comes rushing towards Gin and the Jingu, freezing everything in its path.)
  89. Gin: (The demon knitted his raven brows together, giving a low growl. In a moment of ice would be sliced away with such a manifestation of fire branding from his scimitar outwards in a sheath of flame. His flames would try to melt the ice and keep away the black mist.)
  90. (Sloshing away from the fire, the mist envelops another of the Jingu freezing him solid in the process. Ice begins to creep up the sides of the surrounding buildings, as the sun is hidden behind an increasingly thick cloud.)
  91. Darkness: (tilting its head as it looks carefully at Gin, before it points to the ground and summons a set of ice spikes filled with a strange red fluid. The more the mist spreads the the more of the fluid appears in the spikes.)
  92. Gin: “Why did it have to be Kaiden.” (He grunted as the jinn blurred about, akin to a mage blinking around. He’d try to avoid the set of ice spikes, but unfortunately could not try to save any of the Jingu who were harmed.)
  93. (As the first spike finishes filling, it bursts in a shower of what looks like blood. The creature in its place appears to be a malformed human.)
  94. Homunculi: (groaning as it seems to split in half. One half seems to be blistering from an unknown heat source and other seems to be freezing.)
  95. (As the other to spikes burst similar creatures emerge and divide. Each time they divide they seem to manifest new powers, some growing strange plants from their limbs, others are infected by the filth, and still others appear to be third age machines.)
  96. Homunculi: (Turning their attention towards Gin flickering in and out of existence, they seem to rush towards him, wildly flinging elemental charges, anima and filth.)
  97. Darkness: (Spreading his arms, he summons another set of ice spikes. Bringing his hands together he sets them moving on a circular path.)
  98. (Through the frenzy of activity Gin can make out the shape of the tower hidden beneath the black mist, Ice seems to have begun to creep up the base of the tower.)
  99. Gin: (teleporting to a location in front of the tower, he summons a ring of fire around him in an attempt to hold back the darkness.)
  100. Darkness: (Intensifying its attack, the moving spikes repeatedly attempt to pierce the wall of flames, exploding as they are converted to steam before they can reach Gin.)
  101. Homunculi: (rushing towards Gin, they begin to explode in a dazzling array of colors, some seem to spew poison gas, others try to push roots up through the ground, others explode like the ice spikes, those that are already on fire seem to make it through.)
  102. Gin: (Striking the flaming Homunculi with the hilt of his scimitar, the creature’s lose control of their flaming forms and turn on their master.)
  103. Flaming Homunculi: (rushing towards the darkness, they attempt to embrace it and set it alight.)
  104. Darkness: (Summoning a wall of ice around it, the creatures are extinguished and pulled into the ground.)
  105. (As shards of ice form and explode around them, the ice from the ongoing battle continues to creep up the legs of the tower, an audible grown can be heard from the metal legs.)
  106. Gin: (his ears tuned to the groan from the tower, he summons another wall of white flames around him before turning his attention to the Tower. Swinging his scimitar in the direction of the tower, a wave of fire erupts from the earth and burns away the ice around the towers legs.)
  107. (The sudden change in temperature causes the legs of the tower to break, causing the tower to collapse, destroying the runes with it.)
  108. Darkness: (Screeching in anger as the sky clears and the creature redirects its remaining minion to attack Gin, as it brings the full force of its power against him. Filling the air with shards of ice and braking the ground apart, the creature seems to fly towards Gin in a fit of rage.)
  109. Gin: (Pulling the flames into himself, he lets the creature and its minions come within centimeters of him before unleashing a wave of white hot flames, incinerating the creatures and everything behind them.)
  110. Darkness: (as the white flames envelop him, the black mist seems to burn away revealing the silhouette of a child, that soon seems to vanish with the fire.)
  111. Gin: (Looking around at the burnt remains of the tower and the surrounding camp, he catches a glimpse of a humanoid shadow burnt into the side of a building, the only thing that remains of the creature he destroyed. Letting out a sigh, he pulls out his phone and dials Connar. ) Connar its Gin, the second tower is done.

  114. Kate in the Orochi Housing Projects:
  115. The blue light shining from the top of the tower in the Orochi Housing Projects slowly begins to fade, as the security lights at the base of the tower all go out at once. Kate accompanied by Jingu samurai sent to assists her by Gozen with Boris close at her heels is about 300 meters away from the tower. She can see the red glow of the runes powering the second shield and the bodies of the Third Sunday agents who gave their lives to power it. At the base of the tower is a pile of small bodies, children from the housing projects, but Kate cannot see any sign of the one who killed them. The Jingu, (though stoic on the surface) seem to be shaken by the sight, in the distance they can hear the sound of men and women weeping for their lost children.
  116. Kate: (She eyes the scene with deep suspicion.)
  117. Tetsuo (Jingu): (sheathing his sword before unslinging an assault rifle.) It is obviously a trap, though I can't see how we trigger it. I think our best course of action would be to provide you with cover while you deactivate the spell.
  118. Kate: As if I know the first bloody thing about deactivating spells... (She sighs.) Fine. Position your people.
  119. (As Tetsuo and the Jingu take up positions on the roofs across from the tower, Kate can see a small figure in a black robe staring at the pile of bodies, the ambient weeping seems to be concentrated around the hooded figure.)
  120. Figure in Black: (Turning to Kate, he lowers his hood revealing the gaunt pale face of a child. His head is bald and unmarked, save for cross on the top of his scalp (likely a mark meant to guide some kind of machine.) The bags under his sunken eyes indicate that he hasn't slept in a while) It’s all my fault, they did things to them because of me.
  121. Boris: (Ears back, while growling behind Kate)
  122. Kate: (Kate unholsters one of her pistols.)
  123. Figure in Black: I’m her favorite, she did things to the others in order to spare me. I had to watch it all though. She cut off their legs, pulled out their teeth...they hurt so much…she made it so that I feel it when everyone hurts and everyone is always hurting.
  124. Kate: (She listens in silence.)
  125. Figure in Black: but I..I can take away that pain. She showed me how, watch.
  126. (Pointing a bony finger at one of the roofs, one of the Jingu clutches at his chest before tumbling from the roof. the figure then moves his hand over several other houses, the other Jingu begin to fall from the rooftops. Some clutch their chest, other their heads and other seem to simply drop dead.)
  127. Figure in Black: I can see your pain too, I see the scars from your past and the fear in your heart. Please let me take it away from you.
  128. Boris: (now sitting in front of Kate, he is now bearing his teeth and his growl has become a loud snarl.)
  129. Kate: (She raises her gun in a two-handed grip and fires an anima-charged shot, aiming for the forehead.)
  130. (The bullets seems to dissolve before it can hit the Figure in Black, Kate soon feels a gentle wind blowing from the direction of the Figure in Black. As the wind grows more intense Kate can feel it stripping her of anima, as honey bubbles up out her mouth, she can feel her heart slow.)
  131. Figure in Black: You are hurting so much, please let me help you.
  132. Boris: (snarling as he circles back around to Kate, before leaping into her chest.)
  133. (As the wolf pup disappears into her chest, Kate can feel a surge of anima well up inside her.)
  134. Kate: (Firing off another more powerful anima shot.)
  135. (The powerful shots also dissolve in front of the figure in black, as he begins to approach Kate.)
  136. Figure in Black: You cannot destroy me, I’m inevitable, I’m the one constant in life. I am Death.
  137. Kate: (ignoring the creatures speech, she flees down an alley to formulate a new plan. As she ducks around a corner, she thinks back on how she might be able to reach the creature. Her thoughts begin shift back to the other plagues she had encountered and if any of them had similar powers. Unable to think of any she begins weaving a path throughout the housing project in an attempt to by herself time.)
  138. Death: (as the figure in black wanders through the empty streets, metal seems to rust around him and the asphalt streets seem to crack and turn to dust.) running will only prolong your suffering, come to me and embrace peace.
  139. Kate: What is it with these guys and monologues (as she jumps a fence into a yard, her mind goes back to the outer dark and the worms in Connar's arm and how she had used the spear to purge them and how she had used the same spear to kill Boil.) I guess this is as good a time as any to try this thing (Summoning an anima charge to her hand she begins to form a blood blade and sure enough the spear appears.)
  140. (The sound of collapsing power lines and cracking streets seems to fill the air as the figure calling itself death approaches.)
  141. Kate: (Jumping back over the fence, she points her spear toward the robed figure and attempts to rush him.)
  142. (the air around Kate seems to distort as an unseen force splits around her, like water passing around a stone.)
  143. Death: (looking at Kate emotionless, as the air around Kate becomes more distorted.)
  144. Kate:(finding it difficult to move, she presses forward, one foot in front of the other until she is only a few meters from the robed figure. Not hesitating, she thrust the spear point forward into the figures belly. )
  145. (a flash of light knocks Kate back as the robed figure collapses to the ground and the energy surrounding him seems to dissipate. )
  146. Kate:(Cautiously approaching the robed figure)
  147. Death: (groaning in pain before removing his hood, revealing the emaciated (though no longer pale) face of a boy.) Did I hurt you?
  148. Kate: (rolling her eyes) You tried but you couldn't, do you remember anything before you fell?
  149. Death: I was trying to dissolve you with that stuff the witch, scientist, lady...thing showed me how to use. I was screaming to stop but my body wouldn't listen.
  150. Kate: I can't believe that I’m going to ask you this but, do you know anything about the runes around the tower where I found you?
  151. Death: I think so, I or the thing in my head, used my blood to start it before the guys in the robes shot themselves. I think if I touch it, it will go away.
  152. Kate: Good, come with me, we are going to set things right.
  153. Death: What are you going to do to me?
  154. Kate: First we are going to deactivate the spell at the tower and then I’m going to send you back home.
  155. Death: What if I don't want to go?
  156. Kate: Why wouldn't you want to go back home?
  157. Death: Because of the things I did. Because, she did things to the others because of me.
  158. Kate: (sighs) I’m really not the person you want to have this conversation, but if you want to atone for the things that happened, come and help me deactivate this spell.
  159. Death: (nods his head silently)
  160. (As Kate leads Death back to the tower she points toward the ring of read runes around its base.)
  161. Death: (looking carefully at the ring before turning to Kate) one of them is a kind of a squiggly circle with an eye in it, that's the one I need to touch to (before the child can finish a blade seems to come from nowhere and pierce the child's stomach. )
  162. (behind death a breach begins to open and out of the breach steps Worth.)
  163. Worth: (swinging his sword to one side, he cuts the child in half)
  164. Kate: (rushes forward attempting to thrust the spear through his chest)
  165. Worth: (holding out his hand he grabs the tip of the spear)
  166. (As Worth s hand makes contact with the spear, there is a flash of light followed by an explosion. The force from the ensuing explosion pushes back on both Kate and Worth.)
  167. Kate: (pushed back into the ground by the sheer force released by her spear. As she prepares for a counter attack Boris lunges from the end of her spear and attempts to Attack work.)
  168. Worth: (His hand and upper arm reduced to a writhing mass of tentacles, take the hilt of his sword and knocks Boris from the air before turning towards the tower.) You have gotten stronger since we last fought (as he speaks, the tentacles that use to make up the stump of his arm reform into a new arm and hand.)
  169. Kate: And you're just as vile as ever, stabbing unarmed children in the back after turning them into monsters.
  170. Worth: I was merely destroying property nothing more. (Slashing his sword across the base of the tower, he brings it down with a single swing.)
  171. Kate: What the fuck are you doing?
  172. Worth: Taking a calculated risk. we will continue this fight in a place where I can release the full extent of my power (as he finishes, he sheaths his sword and steps back through breach.) I expect you to bring that beast with you and that you won't hold back.
  173. (as the breach snaps shut the blue light vanishes and the shield protecting the castle in the sky seems to vanish with it.)
  174. Kate: (approaching one half of the child, her face turns to a grimace as she turns away.)
  175. Boris: (limping over to Kate as his broken leg seems to heal with in seconds.)
  176. Kate: (taking her phone from her pocket, she dials Connar before taking a deep breath.) Connar its Kate, its done, when do we finish up?
