  10. ▤▤▤ Why you should stay sub’d
  11. I promise cheesey begging isn’t something I condone or do in newsletters. But I figure I’ll be transparent in my motives because sincerity is valued here, it’s why you read these, right?
  12.
  13. I’ve exploded with growth since Nintendo World Championships. Skyrocketing from 350 subs that I was stuck at for quite a while to the 500+ I’ve sustained throughout June/July. I haven’t let the success change how I stream. I understand people come/stay/enjoy a stream because of what you’re doing, not what you do in reaction to their reaction of what you’re doing. So don’t think for a second I’m not appreciative, it’s more that I’m often stuck at 4,000 characters per Newsletter and have more important, progressive things to discuss before bothering to filler out with what you already know. ;)
  14.
  15. I covered previously that I’ve hit that big point of going full-time. I said back in August 2014 that 400 subs would make that a reality (back when I had 140 subs), but tbh, I had no idea what “full time” meant, because getting nearly triple my subs was a longshot then. I said that I didn’t want to make any hasty plans or big moves that would introduce financial instability and compromise the integrity of the stream (b8’ing donations/marketing tactics to stay afloat). I’ve never had to do that before, and feel remaining organic is vital — I mean, is that not why you stick around for the random rants? :^)
  16.
  17. After SGDQ, in August, I can actually make moves to utilize the growth and probably drop serving altogether and go full-throttle w/ streaming 5+ days weekly and put more effort into those background projects I teased back in May. Certainly reveal 1 of the 2 major ones in August if I have enough done to feel comfortable revealing!
  18.
  19. However, this is only possible if the sub count stays healthy while I’m away for 2.5 weeks. In short, if I drop big time, I’ll have to continue working 2 or more shifts per week, which eats a ton of time away from doing bigger/cooler stuff for the stream.
  20.
  21. Understandable if you can’t stay or warrant it because I’m not live, but figure I’ll go hard w/ this newsletter, show a bunch of goodies, include a gift, and tease the promise of what great things are to come if I’m still at 500 come August 4th! <3

  24. ▤▤▤ FMN: June/July 2015 Mirror
  25. Mirror for Tuesday Night’s FMN is live @ [extra details reserved for Sub Only ;-)][3.92 GB, length: 4:20:08, 1080p, 2k bitrate, 30fps]
  26.
  27. This FMN was the first to focus on Studio Ghibli. Thanks to Spirited Away finally getting a blu-ray release in June, I felt the occasion was relevant to do a Ghibli themed FMN. At the same time, for the purposes of enlightenment, there is no need to do Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke. You already know they’re great. Showing Grave of the Fireflies was a no brainer! Shootouts to consultants DMack & Kitsunekyon for helping!
  28.
  29. Preshow includes: SDCC trailer recap, Star vs Forces of Evil ep1, Pixels (2015) tribute aka the 2002 episode of Futurama that does its idea better, & “Intro to Ghibli” starter pack
  30.
  31. ▤▤▤ FMN Archive live for most of 2014 back to now
  32. With some extra time, I added most of my local records of previous FMN’s. Looking back, things became progressively more interactive, polished, prepared and cohesive. Less of a blatant piracy nuthug and more into the higher tier of a trihex twitch chat alongside a movie.
  33.
  34. Of these, the only one I think aged well is Sailor Moon Tribute night @ [extra details reserved for Sub Only ;-)] [4.08 GB, 3.5hr]. Has an amazing preshow!
  35.
  36. ▤▤▤ While I’m away, enjoy this treat!
  37. Sonic the Hedgehog J-OVA @ https://mega.co.nz/#!N1BGARrC!VAuQizRMxA9IrCOGOBUTI2nd7zNOQeMkYketWSy8iuc [550 MB, 1hr, JP audio, ENG subs]
  38.
  39. To make up for not streaming, enjoy the really hard-to-find 1996 Sonic the Hedgehog J-OVA with -japanese- audio & eng subs. The US release has fuck-awful audio and this really helps get immersed into the phenomenal action scenes!
  40.
  41. ▤▤▤ Breakdown of schedule while afk
  42. I land in Vegas in about 3 hours. I’ll try to attend both Arturo of TeamSp00ky’s salty suite as well as GimR’s for VGBootCamp on Day 0. I’ll continue to tweet as I enjoy Day 2 and Grand Finals Sunday.
  43.
  44. My chat will be open as poverty chat the entire time during EVO. EMP_Trihex has editor and will host the good shit going on during EVO. The exception being Smash4 finals on Saturday because the customs guarantee its gonna be a goddamn circus of salt and broken, imbalanced exploits [via custom moves]! I'll tweet out to remind you all once things pop off.
  45.
  46. After EVO, I have 4 days of downtime in Vegas before flying out to SGDQ. During this time I will finalize whether I go for half-skip or full-skip in 5-4, and drill out commentary. I’ll produce Google Spreadsheet notes and make them public of what I intend to commentate on. I’ll also make effort to do some much-needed attention on my ask.fm questions ;;
  47.
  48. During SGDQ, poverty chat operations w/ EMP_Trihex will be happening (not like you're looking at GDQ Chat during it anyway, fucking awful). I'll report in whenever I can to get the 411 on any stream spaghetti. It's interesting to contrast how the GDQ is attending vs how it is watching (though we can all agree most of AGDQ '15 was quite boring)
  49.
  50. When streams resume August 4th, very likely to have plenty to conduct a STORY TIME recapping EVO & SGDQ!~
  51.
  52. ▤▤▤ Fitness Profile Update
  53. Abs coming strong. I'm gonna get fat while away for 2.5 weeks, so probably by October you'll see serious momentum LOL

  59. ▤▤▤ #RealTalk: My stream plans beyond SGDQ (and why you should be excited!)
  60. I've been grinding Yoshi like really hardcore the last 4 months. I spent the 8 months prior to that doing the Goku Training, re-learning the entire game attempting to rid my 2006 muscle memory for old strats and do the spec 2014 strats plus what observations I could to make things faster (2015 strats). It's not as refreshing because there isn't anything new to add to 100% runs because so many mistakes occur already gipping runs of being on-par w/ what trix's WR has. It's a slow grind for consistency. It's very repetitive.
  61.
  62. I can continue to push, but the reality is, I'm much more interested in doing other things after the SGDQ crunch has worn off. I may try for a bit in August, because the break during EVO and most of SGDQ may be what I needed. But either way, definitely going to drop Yoshi for a bit to explore other games -- something I've legit never done since starting streaming in 2011 (because I always felt guilty about not being as good as I could in Yoshi).
  63.
  64. I want to get better at DDR, and do it daily. I want to actually finish Donkey Kong Country Rerutns & Tropical Freeze. I want to explore other games, fall in love, and speedrun more -- just like with Yoshi in 2005. Streams usually are 1 big 6-8hr chunk as its most effective to net viewers, and keep them throughout Yoshi as well as non-Yoshi. I like to get gym done as soon as possible in the day, eat carbs early, burn calories early, and save the reward of sitting on my ass for afterward. Doing Yoshi -then- DDR isn't preferred, I've hated this everytime I do it, and wake up late as shit because of how late I was being so active. Starting in August, expect streams to go something like this:
  65.
  66. • Live by noon/1 PM: "Git Gud @ DDR" -- play on dancepad, with a combination of having fun and targetted practice on my bad form, cross-steping, lack of heel pressing, and lack of torso movement. My endurance and cardio will dictate how long these will average, but certainly nothing past 2hr
  67. • Raid someone, kill stream, go shower & cook all remaining food for the rest of the day. Gym too possibly. I'll play around with what's most efficient. DDR will be daily (as priority #1), and gym as #2, so -some- days gym happens, versus 5-6 days every week.
  68. • Come back by 6 PM, stream non-active AmeriFat games that I want to play. Could be Yoshi 100% fresh off the SGDQ hype, could be DKCR or something else, can't say just yet.
  69.
  70. There'll be 2 streams on a daily basis. EU crowd will get DDR mostly. Since the huge hurdle of gym isn't required beforehand to go live, nor getting pretty (showering) I promise EU friendly streams will actually happen starting in August!
  71.
  72. ▤▤▤ Background Projects Update
  73. I've teased that I've had 2 big background projects in concept for a while now. Having more time, thanks to a healthy sub count, will allow me to actually take 1 day off a week to dump into these and get to a point I feel comfy revealing. I very much value a strong first impression and even to subs, I don't want to show this until I'm ready -- because I -know- it's going to change the game. Forever!
  74.
  75. Things may change, but I'm so excited that I will probably reveal the project before the end of August. Before I fly out to Pax Prime. Stay tuned.
  76.

  79. ▤▤▤ Your feedback?
  80. I never get replies to newsletters. Not that I have to have them, but I figure while I'm away and things will slow down slightly, please let me know how you feel. Do these help make you feel valued? Are they well written? Is there something you want covered that isn't?
  81.
  82. I know the delivery (twitch PM) is awful. I'm working on an external site that uses Twitch API, so you just log in and it checks sub status and will portal you to either the public newsletter or the full version.
  83.
  84. Fill out the form, should be able to see others results after doing it!

  90.
  91. ▤ Sub Count: 565 (wow! Still healthy! So few unsubs!)
  92.
  93. ▤ Sub Goal: no goal, I’m so thankful to have surpassed 400 forever ago. I only hope that I still have 500 once the emotes from Jisu are done & re-worked! (500 unlocks the additional emote slots 11-15, 250+ gets 10)
