- How does Civil Protection work in HL2? How does it work on the server?
- In Half-Life 2, Civil Protection is almost an orginization of former civillians, who are used to oppress the civillians.
- The Combine brainwash the very population they conquered, and have them work against their former brothers and sisters.
- The cities are all to be Socio-Stablity code Green. Anyone who disrupts the Socio-Stability, is prosecuted. By having the Civil Protection
- operate in this way, the Combine are easily able to control and manipulate citizens to their liking. When a CP Officer preform non-cohesively,
- the Combine threaten the Civil Protector, and their family. Civil Protectors must have family, or else the Combine will not have any leverage
- over them.
- On the LemonPunch HL2RP server, the Civil Protection work in the same manner in HL2, they server the Universal Union, the Combine, and
- their ideals.
- What purpose does Civil Protection serve in a governmental manner? How are these purposes fulfilled in Half-Life 2? In the server?
- The Civil Protection serve similar to a police officer except they don't protect the civillians, or their former rights, instead,
- they protect themselves and the Combine. In Half-Life 2 and on the server, they are the enforcers of laws to maintain
- Socio-Stability and can be seen as a form of peace-keepers.
- What is your OOC motivation for joining Civil Protection?
- I was referenced by Eridian and he explained more to me about how Civil Protection
- operates and it intruiged me.
- What kind of roleplay do you expect to find in the Civil Protection and/or be willing to perform in the CP?
- I expect to find both action and passive RP. Due to the job requiring you
- to protect and maintain Socio-Stability, action RP may either be rampant, or in some cases,
- non existant. Mainly as the role of a CP, I expect patrols, raids, radio chatter, oppressing citizens and the such or just plain
- Passive RP.
- Explain what you think/know a robocop is, and why it is good/bad and how you will react to this phenomenon:
- A robocop is like a CP but a robot. Robots cannot feel remorse or any form of emotion. Robocops cannot exist, due to the fact that CPs are
- human, and humans experience remorse and emotion, even with all of the brainwashing, MMRs and the such, feelings still exist within all
- Civil Protectors.
- Why should you be entrusted with a whitelist as important as this?
- I have a lot of experience with SeriousRP with a large portion of it being in the HL2 Universe.
- I feel as though I can offer the highest level of roleplay I can muster and maintain that level.
- How does the Universal Union work in a governmental manner in HL2?
- The Universal Union is the center of everything, they are the ones in control similar to a dictator ship.
- They control Earth, and could very well be controlling a multitude of other planets. Their advanced technology prooves
- them to be overwhelmingly smart. The UU controls the rules to be abided by citizens, and can very well revoke an individual's
- citizenship if they proove to not be able to follow the rules they've set.
- How does the Dispatch Overvoice work via CP-based communication?
- Dispatch Overvoice is artificial intelligence that gives objectives to Civil Protection Units that are to be followed,
- Dispatch uses codes and radio-terminology index words to coordinate Civil Protectors. Without Dispatch,
- Civil Protection would fail to work properly, and vice versa.
- What is the reasoning behind the prosecution of citizens behind closed doors?
- To others watching, it is fear inducing when it is unknown what will happen to an individual
- being prosecuted. Due to it being behind doors, citizens do not know what punishment
- they will recieve when they decide to commit a transgression. The fear of not knowing
- is very effective.
- As above, describe the reasoning behind witness sterilization.
- To prevent people from thinking CPs are weak if they see one killed (for example)
- witnesses are sterilized so that they will not remember what it is that they saw, thus
- the Civil Protection remain to be seen as a strong force.
- [SITUATIONS]
- A CP in your assigned protection-team has been labelled as 'autonomous' by Dispatch, and you've been ordered to carry out the revocation of his civil status. What do you do?
- I would radio in for backup and attempt to persuade him to give up. If he refuses and attempts to escape,
- with the backup I radioed in, brute force would have to be used to subdue the officer. I'd then proceed with diservicement.
- Someone requests that there is an armed individual located in areas of high anticivil activity. Do you ask Dispatch permission to respond? If yes, how?
- I'd inform Dispatch of the request due to the request. If Dispatch gives me permission to gather a Protection Team, I'd respond, if not,
- I'd remain doing what I was beforehand.
- You're conversing with a citizen when Dispatch says; 'YOURTAGLINE-9, cease 19 with 10-91d, avoid 99.' What do you do?
- I'd immediately cease the conversation with the citizen to avoid noncohesive function. If the citizen persists to attempt to
- converse, verbal warnings will be given, and if the individual continues to persist, actions would be taken.
- Awaiting your designation to a given patrol-team by Dispatch, a blueshirted citizen decidedly approaches you and says, 'Hello officer, how do you do?' How do you respond to this?
- I'd look at the male, and tell him to back away, if he decides not to, I'd order him to isolate from the given area.
- Having been assigned to remain at a city-based checkpoint with a few other armed units (likewise yourself), one individual armed with an MP7 and a typical rebel uniform opens fire on your position. What do you do to try to apprehend him?
- Cover would be my main priority, I'd then radio in 10-98, I'd attempt to return fire so that the other Civil Protection Units could make their
- way closer to the individual. Assuming the individual runs out of ammo, apprehending him alive would be the main option. However if he doesn't,
- he may be needed to be gunned down.
- On your first day as a CP, a lone citizen runs up to you with a weapon in his hand - a stunstick that he had taken from another unit. He'd attempt to hit you; how do you respond to this?
- Due to it being my first day, I'd probably be confused as to what to do, and the male would most likely hit his target (me). Except for the
- fact that, all citizens are malnourished, so the blow wouldn't be affective, especially with the helmet armor plating that my uniform has. I'd then
- attempt to give him a taste of his own medicine, with my own stunstick.
- After having been called to a given location by Dispatch, you come across a single blueshirted individual who's been chosen for a random re-education. As you try to apprehend him, the man resists your attempts to tie and restrain him by turning around in an attempt to punch you in the face.
- What's your reaction?
- Due to all citizens being malnourished, whether or not the punch lands, it wouldn't be strong enough to cause much damage. Assuming the punch
- lands, I'd have my stunstick out anyways, flicking it on, I'd attempt to stun the individual, if they run, a tackle may be necessary. Once subdued,
- verdicts would be administered.
- [MISCELLANEOUS]
- Have you read all Civil Protection related guidelines available to you on the forums? Will you read them on a constant basis, so as to ensure that you're doing the best you can if whitelisted?
- Yes, I have read the Social Protection Functionary Compendium a few times over as well as the other documents provided. I plan to
- re-read them multiple times even after I've memorized almost all of it.
- How long have you been roleplaying? Sum up your experience.
- I've been roleplay seriously for a year or so, I've done mostly Serious-RP on LemonPunch.
- My main experiences are being a normal citizen in a blue jumpsuit, and recently I've been
- doing a multitude of MedicalRP. Many of my memorable experiences involve
- being an under-the radar rebel.
- Have you had any experience roleplaying as a CP? If so, sum up such experience(s).
- None.
