  15. Destruction God Beers Arc:
  16.
  17. Episode #1: “Destruction God Beers Awakens!”
  18. •Son Gokuu—using a new transformation with silver hair—battles a mysterious red-and-black clad foe. Both fighters seem to be easily able to avoid the other’s blows. Finally, the two engage in a massive beam struggle that erupts into a screen-engulfing explosion that leads into the Opening Credits.
  19. •Opening
  20. •Son Gokuu tends a farm. Wiping sweat from his brow Gokuu checks what time it is on his smart phone: 8:48AM, 08 May Age 778. Son Gokuu returns to plowing the field.
  21. •Title Card
  22. •A Part: Meanwhile, Destruction God Beers awakens after a forty year slumber. Beers learns from his attendant—Whis—that Freeza is dead and most of the Saiyans are also now dead. Beers recalls a dream he had of a ‘Super Saiyan God’, which sounds similar to the ‘Super Saiyan’ that supposedly defeated Freeza. “Whis, we’re going to the Kaiou of the North’s to investigate…and play some video games!” The Kaiou of the North Galaxy receives a message from Whis, attendant of Destruction God Beers, that he will ‘soon’ be coming over to play the latest sequel to their shared favorite fighting game franchise. Knowing that Gokuu will soon be coming over to train, the Kaiou desperately worries that Son Gokuu will annoy Beers and set him on a rampage across the Seventh Universe, something the Kaiou might get demoted for not preventing. While searching for the seventh Dragon Ball for his mama’s birthday party, Trunks comes across the Pilaf Gang, Pilaf, Shuu and Mai. Years ago the Pilaf Gang asked Shen Long to restore their youth…but he made them too young and now they are just kids. Trunks takes a liking to Mai and saves the trio from an elaborate set of traps in the dungeon. Realizing that Trunks is “Incredibly strong, just like ‘that’ Son Gokuu!” (“ano Son Gokuu!”) the triumvirate agrees to buddy up with him so as to steal all seven Dragon Balls when he isn’t looking. Wanting to impress Mai, Trunks invites the three back to his mom’s big birthday party. On the plane ride back to Metro West the young Pilaf wonders what Son Gokuu is up to these days.
  23. •B Part: Meanwhile, an intense battle occurs between two video game characters across an old television screen. The Kaiou-sama of the Northern Galaxy sweats profusely. If he loses on purpose, Beers-sama will know and get mad! If he wins Beers-sama will blame him for taking advantage of how rusty he is for having not played in so long! Finally, Gokuu appears and distracts Kaiou-sama long enough for Beers to take advantage and deplete the rest of his health bar. Kaiou-sama is at first scared to death, but soon realizes that Beers was not annoyed. “Too dull, old man!” Beers teases. A panicking Kaiou cannot stop Gokuu from asking who Beers and Whis are. Whis explains himself and his master, which naturally excites Gokuu. Gokuu challenges Beers to a battle, but Beers has a question first: “Do you know who the Super Saiyan God is?” Gokuu and Kaiou are puzzled by this question. Gokuu shows his Super Saiyan forms to Beers, but he isn’t much impressed. Super Saiyan 3 Gokuu dashes at Beers.
  24. •Ending: Super Saiyan 3 Son Gokuu futilely attacking Beers.
  25. •Super Saiyan 3 Son Gokuu finds that he is unable to touch his foe. Beers knocks Gokuu down with ease and lectures him on using a transformation that consumes so much stamina. “Work on getting all that dormant power accessible in your normal state!” he chides. Beers and Whis bid the Kaiou-sama of the North farewell and take off for Earth.
  26.
  27. Episode #2: “Wrath of the Destruction God”
  28. •The Kaiou-sama of the North contacts and warns Vegeta, who is training in the gravity room created by Doctor Brief, of Beers’ arrival, “If he gets mad the entire planet will be wiped out!” Vegeta wonders to himself where he has heard that name before.
  29. •Opening
  30. •Meanwhile, Blooma holds her birthday party high in the skies above on her flying island: the Blooma Kai (‘Blooma Realm’; modeled after the Heavenly Realm). Vegeta arrives after being late to the party, but has luckily arrived before this ‘Beers’ character.
  31. •Title Card
  32. •A-Part: Vegeta scours the party hovership for any signs of the Destruction God. The Pilaf Gang gives Vegeta a scare when he discovers them trying to make off with the Dragon Balls but he, Trunks and Goten foil their scheme. Finally thinking he can take a moment’s rest, Vegeta feels a chill run down his spine when he hears a familiar voice: “Yo, Vegeta, long time no see!” The man who made even his father cower in fear has appeared before him. Zooming into Vegeta’s terror-stricked eyes leads to a flashback to the day that Vegeta first met Beers. Afterward, Beers mingles politely with the party-goers, passing himself off as an old friend of Vegeta so as to enjoy the food. Vegeta runs around in a frantic manner, doing everything he can to prevent the unsuspecting party attendees to enrage Beers. When Majin Buu refuses to share fortune cookies with Beers the Destruction God snaps. Beers mercilessly pounds Majin Buu into mush. Ready to finish the job, Beers sends a giant ball of ki down upon Majin Buu. At the last second Mister Satan leaps in front of Majin Buu to shield him.
  33. •B Part: [“Sabre Dance” by Aram Khachaturian plays through the entire B Part] Super Saiyan Vegeta shields Mister Satan and Majin Buu by kicking the ki sphere up into space. Vegeta tries futilely to calm Beers but is only knocked aside. Blooma orders the pilot to drive the Blooma Realm through the clouds for cover. Hidden among the clouds, Trunks launches toward Beers with Son Goten in pursuit. “Stupid brats!” Piccolo is not far behind. Eventually, Trunks, Goten, Piccolo, Tenshinhan and Artificial Human #18 are engaged in a battle against Beers. Goten and Trunks mess up their attempt at fusing and turn into Fat Gotenks, who is then beaten black-and-blue. Gohan reluctantly steps in and transforms into a Super Saiyan, radiating a ki mighty enough to attract his friends’ attention. Beers handedly defeats Gohan with juudou before using his body to incapacitate his friends.
  34. •Ending:
  35. •Clouds reign over the Blooma Realm. As the wind pushes the clouds along those same clouds shape themselves and reshape themselves. Through gaps in the clouds the audience can see that the Bloom Realm’s deck is littered with pulverized fighters and debris.
  36.
  37. Episode #3: “Kami to Kami”
  38. •Vegeta is now all that remains between Beers and the destruction of Earth.
  39. •Opening
  40. •Blooma interrupts the fighting to yell at Beers for ruining her forty-fifth birthday party and slaps him. Not amused, Beers slaps her back, nearly killing her. The moment Blooma hits the deck of the Blooma Realm there is a sharp cut to the Title Card.
  41. •Title Card:
  42. •A Part: Enraged, Vegeta’s Super Saiyan aura explodes and for once Beers seems shocked. “Vegeta is even stronger than Gokuu now!” exclaims the Muten Roushi, remembering how Gokuu showed him his full power while sparring the other day (Depicted as a single shot harmony cel of Super Saiyan 3 Gokuu firing a Kamehame-Ha into space on the beach of Kame House). Vegeta unleashes a barrage of attacks on Beers before finally exhausting his stamina. Beers is none the worse for wear. “We’re done for!” gasps a Vegeta short on breath. Finally, Son Gokuu arrives: “Beers-sama! Destroy Earth and you’ll never get to fight the Super Saiyan God!” Gokuu exclaims. Beers halts his attack when Gokuu offers that by using the Dragon Balls they should be able to ask Shen Long about the Super Saiyan God. Shen Long is summoned and displays quite a fear of the Destruction God. Shen Long explains that a Super Saiyan God can be created by infusing a Saiyan with the ki of five other pure-hearted Saiyans. Chi-chi realizes that this means that they are short one Saiyan but Gohan and Videl reveal a surprise they were planning on keeping for after Gokuu and Vegeta arrived: they’re pregnant! Since a Saiyan’s ki is growing within Videl her own ki should be saturated in Saiyan ki. Together, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten and Videl pour Saiyan ki into Gokuu and he becomes a Super Saiyan God.
  43. •B Part: A close up of Super Saiyan Son Gokuu’s feet. Gokuu lifts his right foot and takes one step forward, with his body shrouded in the ki of a god. Gokuu battles Beers as a Super Saiyan God, but displays difficulty in utilizing his new power. The battle spreads across the planet, but the Blooma Realm follows along with ease. Beers scolds Gokuu as he pounds on him mercilessly. Chichi and the others worry that Gokuu is about to be killed but Piccolo comments that—in a most Gokuu way—it is almost as if Beers is training Gokuu. As the battle heats up the two combatants move up into outer space. Gokuu’s ki grows stronger, rushing to the surface as his battle with Beers heats up. Finally, Gokuu appears to be even with Beers. Nevertheless, after finally drawing blood, Gokuu realizes that the battle is just getting started as Beers ki takes on a frightening new taste: Beers is finally having fun.
  44. •Ending
  45. •Gokuu begins using ki blasts for the first time since transforming into a Super Saiyan God, but Beers neutralizes his blasts with his own. Meanwhile, Piccolo and the others begin to notice something happening to reality around them. Whis indicates that the battle between two rough god ki is generating shockwaves that are spreading throughout the universe. If things don’t calm down soon, the planet will be destroyed. Gokuu realizes what is happening to the universe due to his poor command of his ki. Resolving to sharpen his focus, Gokuu enters a race against time to refine his ki control and prevent the destruction of the universe.
  46.
  47. Episode #4: “Battle of Gods”
  48. •Opening: Gokuu and Beers continue their battle throughout the space above Earth.
  49. •A Part: Finally, Gokuu matches Beers blow-for-blow and cancels out the shockwaves. This excites Beers only more and the Destruction God sends Gokuu flying back down to Earth. Realizing that Beers is preparing to destroy the Earth with his signature giant ki sphere, Gokuu struggles to get back on his feet. “Is my stamina gone already?!” With Beers’ attack coming straight at him, Son Gokuu’s life flashes before his eyes. Everything comes back to wanting to be the best. Suddenly, Gokuu stands tall and unleashes the mightiest Kamehame-Ha of his life, sending Beers’ attack right back at him. Gokuu flies into space and confronts Beers, calling it frustrating that he could only make it this far because of help from others. This amuses Beers, but he must still receive an answer for the insult brought against him: “Admit defeat, Son Gokuu.” Beers offers no reward in exchange for such an admission. Finally, Gokuu acquiesces, “You win, Beers-sama.”
  50. •B Part: Silence, for the longest time. Finally, Beers knocks Gokuu back down to Earth, where he is soon protected by his friends and family. “It’s time for me to destroy the Earth,” Beers somewhat musingly purrs. Silence, still. Before emotional pleas can break out from his would be victims, Beers fires his blast at the ground…but it can only destroy a single rock! “Whoops, used up all my ki screwing around. Come, Whis, we’re going home.” Beers turns and takes his leave. Confusion defines the scene as the crowd ponders what they just experienced. Finally, Gokuu bursts into laughing in realization and the others soon follow.
  51. •Ending: Night time on the Blooma Realm. The party recommences, more shenanigans occurring.
  52.
  53. Golden Freeza Arc:
  54.
  55. Episode #5: “Blooma Dates Whis-san?! Vegeta’s Greatest of Pinches”
  56. •Eight days have passed since Son Gokuu became a Super Saiyan God and did battle with Destruction God Beers. Gokuu has returned to training, via meditation, to better control his ki by doing image training. Gokuu visualizes himself battling Piccolo Daimaou, Freeza, Cell, and Majin Buu (Gohan-absorbed). Chichi, of course, wants Gokuu to get back to farming their daikon, but that seems a little far off at this rate.
  57. •Opening:
  58. •Meanwhile, Vegeta learns that Whis is visiting with Blooma on a date.
  59. •Title Card
  60. •A Part: Vegeta tries to convince Whis to train him, but Whis is more interested in trying new foods. Finally, Vegeta sets about showing off his own culinary skills. Impressed, Whis accepts Vegeta as his student. Vegeta and Whis return to Beers’ planet. Vegeta’s training begins immediately: he must clean their giant castle wearing weights that require his ki to be at its maximum simply to move a little. Meanwhile, Gokuu gains the momentum in his image training and uses Super Saiyan God to defeat his image foes.
  61. •B Part: Gokuu completes his current round of training in the wilderness, prompting earthquakes and flooding throughout the planet. Some months have passed since the battle with Beers. Videl is due to deliver any day now. Later, Gokuu decides to visit Vegeta for some sparring…but according to Blooma, Vegeta is off training with Whis-san! “Eh?!” Gokuu desperately searches for Beers, Whis or Vegeta’s ki, but cannot find it. Vegeta hasn’t been home to visit in a month which is annoying Blooma: “I have needs, too!” Gokuu desperately asks Blooma if she has any way of getting in contact with Whis, to which she answers but one: presenting something delicious while yelling his name really loudly. It works! But before Gokuu can run off with the newly arrived Beers, Whis and Vegeta a phone call from Chichi cuts in: “Videl-san is goin’ into labor!” Chaos ensues as Gohan, Videl and Chichi try to find a parking spot at the hospital. Gokuu’s group tries to find the right hospital room, but doctors are in short supply due to recent natural disasters! Finally, Piccolo-san appears in scrubs and delivers the baby in the middle of a crowded hospital commissary (Beers and Whis love the food). Baby Pan-chan is born! “We should have another one, Vegeta!” comments Blooma. Vegeta shoots back with “I have training to finish!” “Whis-san, please train me, too!” Blooma laments her predicament, but supplies Vegeta with a new battle jacket and gray under suit to replace his currently shabby suit. “Ara, since Vegeta-san has new armor, perhaps Gokuu-san should, too?” Whis transforms Gokuu’s dougi into a new red one, too. Gokuu and Vegeta bid the others farewell and return to Beers’ planet.
  62. •Ending:
  63. •While the doctors are tending to Pan-chan Videl and Gohan are left alone for a moment. Videl flexes her abdomen and burns her stomach back into a six pack; Gohan breaths in deeply in response.
  64.
  65. Episode #6: “The Machinations of Chief Advisor Sorbet”
  66. •Gokuu and Vegeta train under Whis on Beers’ planet. Gokuu finds himself one step behind Vegeta at everything they do thanks to Vegeta’s head start. Nevertheless, Gokuu is Gokuu and quickly catches up.
  67. •Opening
  68. •Sixteen years earlier, news of Freeza’s death hits his empire. Chief Advisor Sorbet quickly takes command to try and maintain order.
  69. •Title Card:
  70. •A Part: In the following days it becomes clear that Freeza’s empire is doing poorly in quelling resistance groups on the worlds they have conquered. When news of Freeza’s death leaks the resistance groups become even harder to control. To help control the increasingly rowdy worlds under the command of the Freeza Empire, Sorbet assigns his right hand man and strongest warrior, Tagoma, to recruiting mercenaries to bolster their forces.
  71. •B Part: Tagoma comes across a man named Shisami. The two eventually fight as a way of greetings and Shisami accepts the offer, for a high price. With Shisami’s help Sorbet retakes and maintains several worlds. Shisami and a reluctant Tagoma quiz Sorbet on what his long-term plan is. Maintaining the empire without an overwhelming force like Freeza is exceedingly difficult, to say nothing of trying to grow the empire. “It’ll also become hard for you to afford the fee for us mercenaries,” adds Shisami. Sorbet wants to stick to Freeza-sama’s plan to conquer the universe, but at the rate things are going…wait a second, wasn’t Freeza-sama after the wish-granting Dragon Balls? Perhaps they could restore Freeza-sama to life? But nobody knows where the new Namekian home world is! And Earth is protected by that damned Saiyan, Son Gokuu. “It can’t be helped,” Sorbet adds, “We’ll focus on developing and acquiring technologies to help increase our soldiers’ combat power. After that, we’ll go to Earth and use the Dragon Balls to revive Freeza-sama!”
  72. •Ending:
  73. •Shisami counts his gold in his quarters.
  74.
  75. Episode #7: “Rumblings of a Storm! Emperor Freeza is Resurrected”
  76. •One year after the battle with Beers, Sorbet and Tagoma go to Earth. The duo threatens the Pilaf Gang into giving them the Dragon Balls, just when they are about to make their wish they are interrupted by Sorbet and Tagoma. Sorbet asks Shen Long to revive Freeza, but Shen Long can only revive him to the form he was in last alive, a bunch of bits-and-pieces. Sorbet agrees and once Freeza’s tiny pieces rain from the sky on the group of five. Sorbet then revives Freeza’s Papa, Great King Cold, with the second wish and Shuu asks Shen Long for a bunch of money with the third. Sorbet and Tagoma then take their fallen kings back to the empire to be healed.
  77. •Opening:
  78. •Back in the empire, Freeza’s body is restored and he is reverted to his first form. Cold is also healed. Once finished, Freeza swears revenge on Son Gokuu and the Saiyan that killed him, but first he will train, something he has never done before. Although miffed about dying, Cold isn’t particularly interested in being subjected to the torture he experienced in Hell again, but Freeza isn’t having any of it. He will undergo training so Hellish it will make his time in Hell pale in comparison.
  79. •Title Card:
  80. •A Part: Freeza, wrapped up in a cocoon tied to a tree in Hell, is tortured by dancing and singing angels and stuff animals playing instruments. As the music grows more and more suffocating Freeza finally wakes from his nightmare after having been knocked unconscious by attacks by Tagoma, Shisami and Papa. Huffing and puffing, Freeza rushes forward at all three. Sometime later, Galaxy Patrolman Jako arrives at Capsule Corp. After admonishing Doctor Brief for calling him ‘Zako-kun’, Jako tells Blooma that the evil space emperor, Freeza, has somehow been revived!
  81. •B Part: Jako tells Blooma of how Freeza’s forces have recently started re-growing their empire, now faster than ever! Word on the street is that now Freeza is coming to Earth with one thousand elite soldiers to extract revenge on the Saiyans. Blooma informs Whis-san of this, so he, Beers, Gokuu and Vegeta return to Earth. Beers is a little miffed to see that Freeza has been revived, considering how much of a “snotty brat” he was and tells Gokuu and Vegeta to hurry up and defeat him. Gokuu is excited to get a chance to fight Freeza again and wonders if he’s gotten any stronger since being revived. Gokuu recruits Kuririn—now a police officer—after Kuririn engages in a car chase with bank robbers. Reluctant at first, Kuririn remembers how useless he was when Beers was threatening the planet, and agrees to join up with Gokuu. Kuririn has Artificial Human #18 shave his head and dons his dougi once again. Last time, #18 got to show off how cool she was by protecting him and Marron-chan. This time he wants to do the same for her. As Kuririn flies off to join up with Gokuu and the others again, Artificial Human #18 says to herself: “How cool…”
  82. •Ending:
  83. •Freeza’s spaceship zooms through space. Inside, Freeza pours himself a bottle of wine and swirls it around as he peers out into the expanse of outer space.

  87. •Opening:
  88. •Beers has no intentions of involving himself in Gokuu’s mess, but the potential to see Freeza get slapped around is too good to pass up. When Kuririn asks where Goten, Trunks and Majin Buu are, Blooma explains that Majin Buu is in a deep sleep and Goten and Trunks aren’t the sort to take a fight seriously, so they’ll just get in the way. Gokuu finishes typing a text and tosses Blooma his smart phone and tells her to look after it. Tightening his belt, Gokuu turns and serenely says “He’s here.”
  89. •Title Card:
  90. •A Part: [“Ride of the Valkaries” by Richard Wagner plays throughout the remainder of the A Part] Freeza’s rather massive ship lands and he and one thousand soldiers exit the ship. With a single blast, Freeza obliterates North City before the Dragon Team can react. Gokuu and Freeza banter for a bit. Freeza tells his men to cause as much destruction as they please, but to leave Son Gokuu to him. Freeza transforms into his fourth form right off the bat, destroying his hover chair in the process. Nervous, Kuririn, the Muten Roushi, Piccolo, Gohan, Tenshinhan, Jako and Piccolo face down one thousand of Freeza’s elite soldiers. Meanwhile, Vegeta faces off with the Great King Cold.
  91. •B Part: The Great King Cold laments to Vegeta how his son’s obsession is just going to get him into trouble again, “We’ve got much better things to do with our time.” [“Ride of the Valkaries” by Richard Wagner plays throughout the remainder of the B Part] Meanwhile, the others do battle with the top members of Freeza’s army, now refined by years of training and new weapons technologies. It’s a bit of a struggle, especially for the rusty Kuririn. Piccolo engages in battle with Shisami. Although Piccolo has the superior combat techniques his opponent boasts both experience and raw physical strength. The rusty Son Gohan, meanwhile, struggles against the technique-adept and dexterous Tagoma. Piccolo and Gohan are painfully made to recognize their faults.

  97. •Opening:
  98. •Meanwhile, Kuririn is saved from decapitation by Jako, who is quite surprised at the strength of the Earthlings.
  99. •Title Card:
  100. •A Part: The Muten Roushi’s techniques and command of ki give him an advantage over the less refine martial arts and weapons-based combat abilities of Freeza’s men, but eventually their greater numbers chip away at his stamina and focus and he begins to accumulate damage quicker. Meanwhile, Tenshinhan observes that nobody dares to attack Blooma because of how close she is to Beers and Whis. Just how infamous is Destruction God Beers? Vegeta and Cold continue their talk in between bursts of fighting. Vegeta comments on how both he and Freeza have become quite a bit stronger since they last came to Earth. “Speaking of which, where is that young man that greeted us last time?” “Oh, he returned to the future.” “What?!” Meanwhile, Freeza and Gokuu find themselves mostly even. Freeza’s ki control has improved since last time, definitely, but it’s his increased hand-to-hand ability that is definitely proving to be the biggest challenge to Gokuu. “I guess we’ll have to stop holding back and play our trump cards to see who the best is really!”
  101. •B Part: Piccolo and Super Saiyan Gohan struggle against Shisami and Tagoma respectively. They’re both facing their worst possible type of opponent. Finally, backs together, Gohan and Piccolo realize they can just switch foes! Gohan, who specializes in raw power, faces off with the brutal crushing strength of Shisami, while the technique and speed-oriented Piccolo faces off with the tricky, dirty Tagoma. The fights become much more even after the switch, but Shisami and Tagoma are not slow to adapt to the sudden change in dance partners.
  102. •Ending:
  103. •Desperate for more power, Gohan attempts to transform into a Super Saiyan 2 but his body can’t bring the transformation forth fast enough and he takes a nasty right hook to the jaw, knocking him to the ground.
  104.

  107. •Opening:
  108. •Surrounded, Kuririn, Jako, Tenshinhan and the Muten Roushi apply an off-the-cuff combination play based on the Muten Roushi’s lead and are able to take out a large portion of Freeza’s forces at once.
  109. •Title Card:
  110. •A Part: Half a mile away, Freeza takes note of his soldiers’ failures and tells Shisami and Tagoma to back off. After the two lieutenants have gotten a safe distance away, Freeza explodes the ground beneath the others. Gokuu narrowly saves Kuririn, Jako, Tenshinhan and the Muten Roushi from death thanks to his Instantaneous Movement. “Useless trash,” Freeza comments with an exaggerated curling of his lips. Shisami, Tagoma and Sorbet look at each other, conflicted. “Now then, allow us to get back to it. Behold the form of your death!” Freeza erupts in a fiery golden aura and transforms into a gold and purple form: “The naming is a little tacky, but perhaps we can call this ‘Golden Freeza’?” Freeza’s ki places the others under a lot of pressure. Gokuu follows Freeza by transforming into a new transformation, too. It’s his usual Super Saiyan form, but with a blue hair and aura! “I suppose you can call this ‘Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan’,” Gokuu states. The A-Part ends with the two charging toward one another.
  111. •B Part: [Insert Song: “F” by Maximum the Hormone] Vegeta battles Cold while Gokuu battles Freeza. The two intense battles shake the planet feverishly. Gokuu loses ground against a Freeza who is now completely charged with unrestrained mania. Nevertheless, even at a disadvantage, Gokuu is exceedingly calm. [Insert Song Ends] Meanwhile, Kuririn and the others heal their injuries with senzu as they view the battle. Freeza’s ki becomes increasingly erratic. Cold breaks from his battle with Vegeta and deals a little damage to Gokuu through a sneak attack blast through Gokuu’s left backside. Gokuu recovers enough to gain some distance from the father and son. Freeza is furious at Cold for intervening, but Cold admonishes him for playing around so much. Now he’s losing because he hasn’t learned to control his new form well enough. Cold unveils his own ‘Golden’ form and begins battling Gokuu in Freeza’s place. Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and begins to battle Freeza. Freeza’s rage reaches a boiling point and finally explodes: Freeza blasts Cold through his chest from behind and begins furiously pounding on him. Sorbet and the others are horrified. Finally, Freeza blows Cold to bits and returns his attention to the shocked Son Gokuu. Vegeta reluctantly offers to help Gokuu, but Gokuu just doesn’t like the idea of fighting together, especially not against Freeza. Vegeta calls him an idiot. The battle becomes worse and worse for Gokuu, who just doesn’t have Freeza’s raw power and genetic genius. Even Gohan and the others consider joining in to save the pummeled Gokuu. Finally, Freeza pins down Gokuu and prepares to obliterate him and the Earth with a close-range blast, but suddenly, a blast erupts through his side!
  112. •Ending:
  113. •In the foreground there is but a single flower, wobbling in the wind. In the background, Golden Freeza kneels, hacking up blood.

  117. •Opening
  118. •Shisami and Tagoma double-team Freeza, pounding him and blasting him in his state of shock. Finally, Freeza reverts to his normal form. “W-why?!” he gasps.
  119. •Title Card: “W-why?!” written in hiragana using Freeza’s blood splattered on the ground before him.
  120. •A Part: Sorbet explains that Freeza-sama not only killed a thousand of their best men, but his own father, to say nothing of being about to destroy the Earth and them along with it! “You’ve lost your way, Freeza-sama! The empire is doomed to fall under your rule!!” Combining their attacks, Sorbet, Shisami and Tagoma return Freeza to Hell. Gokuu is none-too-pleased by Sorbet robbing him of his battle with Freeza, but in his current injured state cannot move very well. Vegeta considers attacking, but Beers stops him, displaying amusement at Freeza’s downfall. Sorbet and the others pick up their remnants and fly off into space, washing their hands of the curse of Son Gokuu. “Ah!” exclaims Jako suddenly, “This means the Galaxy Patrol doesn’t have to worry about Freeza now! I wonder if we’ll give them a medal or something…” but Blooma reminds him that those three will probably run Freeza’s empire on their own now.
  121. •B Part: At the after party, Gokuu laments his unresolved battle with Freeza. Beers tells Gokuu that it’s his own fault for not accepting help, but Whis proposes that “Letting the others help him would have been even worse for a fellow like Son Gokuu-san”. Meanwhile, Kuririn reunites with his family and Mai reunites with Trunks, telling him of the scary affair with Freeza’s men.
  122. •Ending
  123. •In Hell, Freeza’s torture by the angels and stuffed animals resumes: “NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
  124.

  128. •Huffing and puffing, fur wet with sweat, a more plump-looking being of Beers’ race marches through the jungles on Beers’ planet. “Come now, Champa-sama,” attends his attendant, a female being similar looking to Whis, “We mustn’t dawdle. Who knows when Beers-sama will enter hibernation?” The one apparently known as Champa-sama groans audibly.
  129. •Opening: Champa trudges through the jungles, looking ever increasingly exhausted.
  130. •A Part: Gokuu and Vegeta train together on Beers’ world. Whis coaches the two while drinking tea with the Kaiou-shin of the Tenth Universe, Gowasu, while his apprentice, the former North Kaiou, Zamasu, serves. Zamasu asks Gowasu if it is really alright for humans and gods to be mingling as such. Whis laughs, stating that Gokuu-san and Vegeta-san provide Beers-sama with entertainment he hasn’t enjoyed in millions of years. Zamasu inquires about how they even met these two humans. After hearing that Gokuu even survived a battle with Beers, Zamasu challenges Gokuu to a sparring match to see what is so special about him. While it seems to be a good match, in the end Gokuu is victorious even without having to transform. Gokuu again notes that Zamasu is really strong for a Kaiou, being even stronger than the Kaiou-shin of the Seventh Universe! “Let’s fight again sometime!” Zamasu hides his embarrassment, but before he can reply he is cut off by the arrival of an unexpected duo.
  131. •B Part: Sixth Universe Destruction God Champa and his attendant, Whis’ elder sister, Vados, trudge out of the jungles. Champa has arrived to have a food tasting battle with Beers! Champa becomes jealous of the food that Beers has access to from Earth and is even more envious when Vados tells him that their Earth no longer exists due to civil war destroying it. Champa challenges Beers to a martial arts match. Since they can’t fight without endangering their universes they’ll have five warriors from each fight in a special tournament. Whoever has the most men standing at the end of the tournament can have the Super Dragon Balls that Champa has gathered. “But just so you know: if I win I’m taking your Earth!” The tournament will be held in five days!
  132. •Ending
  133. •Inside the Room of Spirit and Time, Son Gokuu and Vegeta train through sparring. Outside, Mr. Popo tells Dende that it was a good idea to rebuild the Room of Spirit and Time, even if the two day wait left Gokuu and Vegeta with only three days to train. A single year inside the room is only a single day outside, which means the Saiyans can accomplish three years of training in just three days. Dende adds that he just wishes he could have stocked it with enough food for Piccolo and Majin Buu, who have also agreed to participate, to get some training done in there, too. Meanwhile, Beers recruits “the mightiest foe I have ever faced in the Seventh Universe, other than Whis, of course.”
  134.
  135. Episode #13: “A Tournament Between Two Universes”
  136. •Back in the Tenth Universe, Zamasu thanks Gowasu for allowing him to fight Gokuu. Gowasu thinks this helped Zamasu gain a deeper understanding of humans, and relieved some of the distrust he feels toward them. Zamasu says he is embarrassed to realize how inexperienced he is, which Gowasu says is proof that he has grown. Gowasu asks Zamasu for another cup of tea, which Zamasu obediently pours. With his back turned to Gowasu, a sinister smile spreads across Zamasu’s face.
  137. •Opening
  138. •A Part: The day of the tournament has come! Everyone gathers at Capsule Corp to travel to the planet where the tournament in being held. Gokuu and Vegeta are the last to arrive, both now sporting beards. The Seventh Universe and its spectators arrive at the site of the tournament. Gowasu and Zamasu are also in attendance. Zamasu recalls how Beers ordered him and Gowasu to come to the tournament, implying that they were also complicit in facilitating this event and if the Zen-Ou catches them they would get in trouble, too. Zamasu questions Gowasu about whether or not this is appropriate behavior for a god, but Gowasu brushes Beers-sama’s fear-mongering off: “It’s unlikely that the Zen-Ou would erase us or be unnecessarily cruel; probably.” Meanwhile, the fighters of the Sixth Universe are introduced. Champa cannot remember Hit’s name, so he continually calls him ‘Shit’ (シット). Majin Buu is disqualified from the tournament after being shown unable to even write his own name on his name-tag thanks to Champa citing a rule that Vegeta himself came up with previously. Shrugging, Majin Buu goes to sleep. The Seventh Universe must now somehow win with only four contestants.
  139. •B Part: Gokuu battles Botamo, a being with incredible bounciness. When blunt force fails to hurt Botamo, Gokuu attempts to throw him out of the ring and attacks indirectly, but Botamo has long overcome that sort of strategy. Finally, Gokuu focuses his ki into a ‘piercing punch’, but the sudden sharpening of his fist and the reverberating of Botamo’s body enacts damage to Gokuu’s right fist and arm. Gokuu eventually just picks up Botamo and throws him out of the ring. Gokuu has won the first match but now must hide his injury.
  140. •Ending:
  141. •Gokuu’s next opponent…is Freeza?!
  142.
  143. Episode #14: “The Lingering Poison of the Sixth Universe”
  144. •Gokuu battles Frost, a warrior from the Sixth Universe of the same race as Freeza. At first Gokuu seems to have the advantage, but Frost soon reveals his wartime experience has taught him to detect when his opponent is injured.
  145. •Opening:
  146. •Gokuu soon begins to strain his body in his attempts to cover up his earlier damage and Frost takes advantage of that by transforming into his third form, which specializes in defense and raiding large groups of enemies.
  147. •Title Card:
  148. •A Part: Gokuu soon realizes he runs the risk of hurting his left hand, too. Gokuu raises his base form’s ki to its uppermost level to try and finish off Frost quickly with a ring-out, but Frost uses the explosive energy from transforming into his fourth form to avoid the ring-out. Seeking to end the battle quickly, before Gokuu unveils any more surprises, Frost uses his secret poison hidden in his wrist. Gokuu passes out almost immediately and Frost is declared the winner.
  149. •B Part: Piccolo steps up to face Frost and reclaim the Seventh Universe’s lead. Piccolo knows he’s at a disadvantage against Frost’s newly risen ki and physical speed, but shedding that armor-esque third form has also reduced his defense. Piccolo goes for a blitzkrieg to end the battle quickly and uses his various techniques and demon arts to shock-and-awe Frost. Finally, Piccolo wraps up Frost in his elongated arm and prepares to defeat him with his Makankou-sappou, but…
  150. •Ending:
  151. •… Frost uses the same poison barb hidden in his wrist to inject Piccolo with poison, knocking him out. Now the score is 2-1 in favor of the Sixth Universe!
  152.
  153. Episode #15: “Vegeta’s Harsh Battles”
  154. •Jako notices the weapon Frost has been hiding and calls him out on it.
  155. •Opening:
  156. •Under threat of death by Champa, Frost admits that he’s harboring a concealed poison barb. War has taught him that there are no cheap tricks in combat, especially when one’s life and responsibilities are on the line. As such, Frost stands his ground and refuses to accept any sort of disqualification.
  157. •Title Card:
  158. •A Part: This gutsy display from Frost wins over Champa and he stands by his player. Beers isn’t particularly sympathetic given that his Seventh Universe’s Earth is on the line and counters that adhering to the agreed upon rules of no weapons is also in line with Frost’s argument. After all, this will mean that Vegeta will have to fight four opponents in a row, Beers argues. Gokuu asks “What about Monaka?” only to be told to “Shut up!” Finally, Vegeta says he will fight Frost, no matter the challenge he will face as a result. Vegeta raises his normal ki to its upper limit and skillfully matches Frost blow-for-blow, even dodging Frost’s poison barb. “But how long can this last?” Piccolo wonders aloud. Vegeta breaks off Frost’s arms so that he can use neither, but it turns out that there’s a barb hidden in Frost’s tail, too! Vegeta is struck on the cheek, but since the poison is not injected into him he manages to avoid the full effect of the poison and sends Frost flying outside of the ring. Although it was only a small bit of poison, Vegeta and the others figure it’s only a matter of time before the poison kicks in and effects Vegeta. “Vegeta-san will have to win these next three matches quickly,” Whis notes.
  159. •B Part: Magetta steps into the ring to battle Vegeta next. Magetta’s lava-based food makes his body incredibly hot, thus making physical attacks unwieldy. However, the poison spreading through Vegeta’s body is chewing through his ki quickly, so if he’s going to last very long he’ll need to retain as much ki as possible. Of course, the barrier created by Whis and Vados to retain oxygen is so densely packed that the heat waves just bounce off of it and swarm around the planet, making everyone miserable. Champa interrupts the battle so that Vados can enact a second barrier, specifically around the ring. Beers argues that he’s just made it even harder for Vegeta to win! Champa retorts by asking if he wants to suffer through the heat, which quiets Beers down. Meanwhile, Vegeta begins tearing up the tiles from the combat ring and throwing them down at Magetta to try and knock him into the ground below, but it’s not doing much good. Finally, Magetta begins spewing out a stream of lava, with Vegeta dodging. There’s not much he can do to attack and all of the dodging is only draining Vegeta’s ki further. Backed into a corner with no way out except through, Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and hits Magetta in a flash of blue lightning. Champa’s group is shocked by Vegeta’s transformation. None of them, even Cabba, knew that Saiyans could transform. Zamasu is especially shocked—perhaps ‘horrified’—that a mere human would be capable of reaching and developing ki in the dimension and flavor of a god. With Magetta defeated and time running out, Vegeta hurriedly tells the next opponent to get into the ring.
  160. •Ending:
  161. •Cabba steps up to the challenge only to soon find himself at the mercy of a ruthless Vegeta. Although time is running out, Vegeta still wants to try and test Cabba, so he threatens to kill Cabba’s family.
  162.
  163. Episode #16: “The 1,000 Year Old Assassin (Part I)”
  164. •Vegeta plays the coldblooded villain to draw out Cabba’s strength, threatening to kill all of Cabba’s loved ones.
  165. •Opening
  166. •Remembering those he loves, Cabba finally transforms into a Super Saiyan. Nevertheless, Cabba is still helpless against Vegeta and loses.
  167. •Title Card
  168. •A Part: An exhausted Vegeta is handedly pummeled by Hit, the mightiest assassin of the Sixth Universe with a career spanning one thousand years. Vegeta uses the last of his strength to slam a close range blast into Hit’s chest, but there is no visible damage done, only ash left behind. Finally, Vegeta passes out. All that remains is Monaka. Beers panics. “If Monaka fights…” Whis casually reminds Beers that Gokuu and Piccolo were cheated out of their victories. Although the poison has mostly worn off they’re both going to be exhausted, so both would be needed to fight Hit. Beers argues that he ought to get compensation for Champa’s dirty tricks, so Champa by way of demands from Hit agrees to allow Gokuu and Piccolo to team-up to fight Hit. “I kinda don’t like it,” Gokuu mentions aloud, “But I need to try to save stamina so I won’t be able to use Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan”. The duo of Son Gokuu and Piccolo Daimaou reunite in combat for the first time since the battle with Raditz! Using various martial arts techniques in rapid repetition, Gokuu and Piccolo force Hit to play a sort of game of tag that prevents him from fighting at his own pace. The tension grows thicker and thicker as the usually cold ace becomes less and less able to use his time-skipping abilities.
  169. •B Part: Hit erupts in anger at how Gokuu and Piccolo are restraining him. Digging deeper than he has had to in centuries, Hit outsmarts Piccolo and almost knocks him out of the ring. The once Daimaou is saved only by Gokuu, who uses his Instantaneous Movement to arrive just in the nick of time. “There’s no getting around it anymore,” Piccolo tells Gokuu, “You’ll have to use that ‘Super Saiyan Blue’”. “Hey, don’t change the name!” Gokuu counters, to which Piccolo retorts “Do you want me to bite my tongue?!” Nevertheless, Gokuu agrees and speeds up his own countdown by transforming.
  170. •Ending:
  171. •Taking in the sight and feel of Gokuu’s Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Zamasu clenches his fist in the stands so tight that his nails cut into his palm and incites bleeding. Gowasu notices this and believes that Zamasu is merely excited to see so many skilled fellow martial artists. In reality, Zamasu curses Son Gokuu for embarrassing him so in front of the other gods.
  172.
  173. Episode #17: “The 1,000 Year Old Assassin (Part II)”
  174. •Gokuu and Piccolo try to resume their strategy, but now that Gokuu is so much faster than Piccolo they’re out of synch, which makes it even easier for the newly warmed-up Hit to disrupt their rhythm and capture the pace.
  175. •Opening:
  176. •With his right arm still pretty much useless for channeling ki or punching particularly hard, Gokuu is at an even greater disadvantage when trying to match Hit by himself. With their strategies proving only a nuisance and the clock ticking fast, Gokuu decides to rely on his last trump card.
  177. •Title Card
  178. •A Part: Gokuu leads Hit into cornering him against the barrier. Thinking he has Gokuu cornered, Hit punches straight at the barrier, but Gokuu disappears and Hit’s lead fist cracks against the barrier. Using his Instantaneous Movement, Gokuu has fled behind the barrier without Hit even noticing! Gokuu teleports behind Hit and unleashes the mightiest Kamehame-Ha that he can through his feet at close range. The blast pushes Hit against the barrier, practically crushing him and forcing him to take the brunt of the attack. “That’s cheating!” Champa exclaims, “Vados, get rid of that barrier!” The barrier disappears, thus giving Hit more room to push back against the Kamehame-Ha. Finally, the two colliding ki explode, but when the dust clears Hit is still standing—rather, levitating in the air—while Gokuu has dropped to his knees and returned to his normal form. Hit smirks, only to vomit blood right afterward. “Is it a draw?!” asks Blooma. “Don’t underestimate me,” calls Piccolo from afar. A spiraling, piercing light erupts through the ash mark left on Hit’s chest by Vegeta’s final attack. “Shit!” Champa shrieks in terror as his ace drops to the ring floor, unresponsive.
  179. •B Part: Hit is unresponsive after taking a Makankou-sappou to the chest. “Wait, did we have a no-killing rule?” asks Champa before proceeding to pull out an obscenely large rule book. Tossing a dress coat over his shoulder and covering his eyes with a black fedora, a suit-clad Beers walks away from the stands after lighting a cigarette. “Prepare some nice flowers, Whis—for the funeral.” Champa immediately tackles Beers and begins pulling at his cheeks, with Beers returning the favor. The two squabble and throw insults while the others assess the situation. Although the Seventh Universe is declared the winner, Gokuu is disappointed that he couldn’t defeat Hit on his own. In fact, even if they had both fought in top form he gets the feeling he would’ve lost. Interrupting Gokuu’s pouting, a cute voice splits open the heavens. “Aww, it was getting to be so much fun!” Three figures descend from the split in the heavens. It’s…”Zen-Ou-sama!” Beers and Champa quit their squabbling and present themselves alongside Whis, Vados and the Kaiou-shin. The Zen-Ou bypasses the lower gods and walks straight toward Gokuu, much to Zamasu’s abject and obvious horror. “That was real fun!” Gokuu thanks the Zen-Ou and the duo brews up a camaraderie that both shocks and frightens Beers and Champa, while twisting Zamasu’s face into greater and greater disgust. The Zen-Ou admonishes Beers and Champa for holding a tournament between universes without his approval, but says it was a lot of fun to watch, so he’ll let it slide. “We should do this with all of the universes!” Gokuu agrees with the Zen-Ou, but first he needs to train. The Zen-Ou bids everyone farewell and returns home, but not before telling someone to tend to Hit’s injuries. “Shit, he’s still alive?!” Champa is horrified. That means he can’t argue a victory in his name due to murder. Beers laughs and says it’s time to use the Super Dragon Balls.
  180. •Ending: The Nameless Planet that the tournament is being held on is revealed to actually be the final Super Dragon Ball, only covered in debris. Super Shen Long is summoned and is revealed to be massive in size. Super Shen Long asks for a wish to grant and Beers speaks it, but since the two are speaking the language of the gods nobody knows what he’s asked for. Beers claims he simply wished for a comfier bed, but in reality he asked for the restoration of the Earth of the Sixth Universe. Later, Gokuu bids the fighters from the Sixth Universe farewell and promises to have a proper fight with Hit the next time they meet.
  181. •In the Kaiou-shin Realm in the Tenth Universe, Zamasu has black-and-white flashes of still shots recounting what he has seen in the past five days. The existence of humans with the power of gods and the Super Dragon Balls: these things play through Zamasu’s mind as he pours tea for Gowasu-sama. “Son Gokuu, huh,” Zamasu ponders in his heart, “I knew it, humans really are…”

Trunks, enraged, attacks the figure, now revealed to be…Son Gokuu? This Son Gokuu is dressed in black, however, and is referred to by Trunks merely as ‘Black’. Trunks awakens, sees Gokuu (wearing his casual clothes and now shaven after the tournament), and erupts in rage, experiencing a PTSD-esque flashback. “Black! Black!!” he screams.
  197. •Opening Credits:
  198. •Gokuu and Vegeta (also shaven and casually dressed) subdue Future Trunks.
  199. •Title Card:
  200. •A Part: Blooma and the others finish explaining that Gokuu eventually had his life restored after the battle with Cell. Blooma asks “Who’s this ‘Black’ guy you keep screaming about?!” Future Trunks gives a short explanation of what has happened since he last saw the others: for the past year a man who looks like Son Gokuu has been attacking the Earth, slowly but surely killing off the humans. While Trunks has fought him on numerous occasions, Black continually escapes only to return more powerful each time. Now Trunks is on the losing end of their battles. Gokuu Black appears in the past thanks to the power of the Time Ring. Gokuu battles Black, who truly does share his appearance! Beers asks Whis if he sees what he’s seeing, and Whis confirms: Black’s fighting style is very familiar. “We’ll have to investigate,” claims Beers. Black eventually transforms into a Super Saiyan—something Trunks notes that Black has not done in ages—and parries Gokuu’s Jan-ken technique. Eventually, the Time Ring’s power expires and Black is forcibly drawn back into the future with many broken bones.
  201. •B Part: “My, my, what a surprise!” the B-Part opens on a close-up shot of a jovial Gowasu greeting his visitors, “Zamasu, please pour our guests tea!” Beers, Whis and Gokuu visit the Kaiou-shin of the Tenth Universe, Gowasu. Gokuu asks Zamasu how his training is going. Zamasu replies—with his back turned—that he believes he will be ready to reveal a big ‘renewal’ soon. After seeing the Time Rings, Beers and Whis are content to leave, as they cannot miss eating dessert back at Blooma’s house. On the trip back to Earth, the trio discusses what they know of Zamasu and his fighting style. Gokuu admits that Zamasu and Black do have a similar feel to them, both in battle and out, but that doesn’t mean they’re in cahoots. Besides, while similar, his ki is not exactly the same as Black’s. Nevertheless, the way his hand went numb when he hit Zamasu in their sparring match several months ago reminds Gokuu of when he fought Beers. Beers is annoyed at being lumped in with Zamasu, insisting that he is on a far higher level. However, Gokuu thinks that Zamasu still has room to improve, and may someday grow to be as scary a god as Beers.
  202. •Ending Credits:
  203. •Back in the future, Gokuu Black rests on a couch in a mountain cabin. A mysterious figure pours him tea. After taking a sip of the tea Black tells his friend “It’s magnificent” with a grin.

Suddenly, Gokuu Black appears from behind and stabs Mai in the back and pierces through her chest. “It’s a shame to ruin such perfect breasts,” Black smugly jests. If the blood on Black’s hand isn’t dripping blood then it’s being evaporated by his ki blade. Mai can only say “Trunks” in a weak voice. Meanwhile, Kusao Takeshi’s Trunks screams Mai’s name in the greatest display of abject horror. Finally, Trunks awakens in the Room of Spirit & Time, his bearded father asleep beside him.
  207. •Opening Credits: Vegeta trains Trunks in the Room of Spirit & Time. Super Saiyan 2 Trunks struggles to land a hit on Vegeta.

  211. •B Part: Vegeta (bearded and in his new Blooma-made armor), Trunks (bearded with long hair) and Gokuu (in his Whis dougi, but still shaved) arrive in Trunks’ timeline. Before they can lure out Gokuu Black the three are attacked by resistance members. Trunks explains the situation to the resistance members and they lower their weapons. The gang returns to the underground civilian community and find that Mai has survived! Trunks is incredibly happy to see that Mai has survived. It turns out that Future Yajirobe saved Mai and helped her back to health! Vegeta hands over capsules full of food and supplies to the hungry civilians. Spirits lifted, Trunks decides to leave the base and head to the surface, where he can lure out Black. On the surface, Trunks lures out Gokuu Black by raising his ki. This time, Vegeta wants to fight Black! Vegeta and Black trade blows, with Vegeta proving he has no need to transform to overwhelm Black. Neither Gokuu nor Trunks like the feeling they are sensing from Vegeta’s overwhelming lead, though. Finally, Vegeta’s body freezes up just as he is about to deliver a crushing blow, giving Black the opening to stab him through the chest with his ki blade. “That technique!” Gokuu cries out. Thinking Zamasu dead, Gokuu returns his attention to Vegeta, but is stabbed through the back and blasted severely by Zamasu. Zamasu notices that Trunks is about to kill Black, so he decides to allow his prey to escape and teleports himself and Black to safety.
  219. •Ending Credits:
  220. •The tea kettle at the mountain cabin is boiling.
  221.
  222. Episode #22: “Thank You, Son Gohan-san”
  223. •Meanwhile, Zamasu and Gowasu discuss philosophy while Present Zamasu serves tea. Beers, Whis and the Kaiou-shin of the Seventh Universe continue to watch closely. Gowasu's not oblivious to the cruelty growing in his pupil. Worse, he believes he can reason with Zamasu and thus shows no outward sign of irregularity. Finally, Gowasu drinks his cooled tea, but suffers a painful death when Zamasu stabs him in the back with a ki saber.
  224. •Opening: No theme music plays. The camera is placed on a close-up of the disturbingly discolored Gowasu’s face. Gowasu’s expression is one of shock. Slowly, the visuals and sound seem to play backward until Gowasu’s face returns to normal and he rises again, just before drinking his tea.
  225. •A Part: Whis rewinds time to before Gowasu's death so that Beers can confront and kill Zamasu. Gowasu is shocked at the development and Beers mentions in an off-the-cuff manner that he probably should’ve let Gowasu die for being such a sentimental, contemptible fool, but Whis reminds him that it would only cause him a headache later when the Grand Priest found out.
  226. •B Part: Trunks returns to the past to seek Piccolo’s aide. Piccolo is currently at Gohan’s house, much to Trunks’ discomfort. Since returning to the past Trunks had wanted to avoid drawing his master’s doppelganger into his battle, despite his selfish desire to draw strength from him. 228. •As Trunks and Piccolo fly a safe distance away from Gohan’s house to avoid drawing attention, Piccolo asks what he has in mind. “Mom told me a long time ago of a technique used to seal away the Piccolo Daimaou and God.” Shocked, Piccolo replies “C-could you mean…?!” With a nod, “Yeah, the MaFuu-Ba!”
  229.
  230. Episode #23: “Behold! The Immortal God Zamasu”
  231. •Gokuu and Vegeta, finally back at full strength (they had to share the only Senzu that Karin was able to spare) hunt down Gokuu Black and Zamasu. This time, Vegeta begins his battle with Black as a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Black is as unctuous as ever and unveils that thanks to all of his battles up until this point he has finally managed to draw out ‘this body’s’ full power. Black transforms into a pink-haired Super Saiyan form. “If you are a Saiyan with the power of a god, then I am a god with the power of a Saiyan! Behold, Super Saiyan Rosé!”
  232. •Opening:
  233. •A Part: While Vegeta and Black go at it, Gokuu (still in his normal form) basically slaps Zamasu around. “You might be immortal, but that don’t mean you’re stronger!” After some due slapping, Gokuu notices Trunks and Piccolo hiding within the forest near Black and Zamasu’s mountain vacation cabin. Gokuu synchronizes his and Zamasu’s battle so that Piccolo can effortlessly catch the fallen god in his green demon-sealing gale. Zamasu shrieks in horror as he is sealed within an electric rice cooker.
  234. •B Part: Noticing that Zamasu has been sealed, Black teleports to Gokuu, Piccolo and Trunks’ location and knocks them aside. Gokuu transforms into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and kicks Gokuu Black as he reaches for the electric rice cooker. Gokuu and Black begin a battle for the rice cooker, fairly even, until Black catches Gokuu off guard with a ‘ki scythe’ that deals devastating mid-range damage. Black stabs Gokuu in the shoulder with a ki sword, pinning him to the pool floor of an abandoned gym. Black begins to recount to Gokuu how he killed him and his family in the timeline he comes from. Enraged by the recounting, Gokuu tears Black’s arm out of his left shoulder and thrusts it into Black’s left shoulder. Black leaps back in pain and flies back to the electric rice cooker, only to find it missing. Shrieking in anger, Black uses his ki scythe to slice the skyscrapers in the city down, then uses ki to lift the rubble into the sky, unveiling the hiding Trunks with the rice cooker. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta lunges after Black but misses his kick when Black uses Shunkan-idou to appear by Trunks side and karate chop the electric rice cooker from his grasp. The electric rice cooker hits the ground with a thud. With a simple stomp, Black crushes the electric rice cooker and frees Zamasu. “Damned humans, I will not be made to feel helpless!” [Insert Song: “Yoake no Michi” from the 1975 animated series “Flanders no Inu”] Zamasu removes one of his Potara and triggers a merger with Gokuu Black. As Gokuu Black and Zamasu’s bodies fly towards one another they exploded into silhouettes of pink and purple light respectively. These silhouettes—retaining the outlines of their original forms—embrace one another as the Zamasu silhouette grabs the Gokuu Black silhouette by the head and passionately kisses it in a rotating camera shot. The two silhouettes of colored light merge into one before bursting into purple and pink petals. These petals fall to the ground and are quickly decomposed into the soil before rapidly growing into a majestic tree. From that tree is borne a single fruit that rapidly ripens into…Merged Zamasu the Immortal God! Everyone powers up to their full strength and attacks Merged Zamasu. “Even a four-man team is no use!” cries Trunks. “Damn, even if I hadn’t used so much strength on the MaFuu-Ba!” fears Piccolo. “Damn it all, if we had Potara, too!” concedes Vegeta. [Insert Song Ends] Suddenly, Beers, Whis, Gowasu and the Seventh Universe Kaiou-shin appear. “Kakarrot!” shouts Vegeta. “Shit, cain’t be helped!” In a blinding light, Gokuu and Vegeta rush over to the Kaiou-shin, however…Merged Zamasu is much quicker. Merged Zamasu wipes the Potara from the ears of Gowasu and Shin and crushes them into dust. Whis generates a barrier around the gods that pushes Merged Zamasu away and amusingly scolds him: “We’re just spectators here, pay no mind! Ohohoho!” Gokuu and Vegeta look at one another and nod. “Oh well,” Gokuu grins, “I ain’t all that big on mergin’ anyway!” Vegeta rolls his eyes at the apparent reversal of their roles from the battle with Majin Buu but nevertheless takes a power-up position. Roaring in unison, Gokuu and Vegeta raise their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan power to their maximum…before their auras appear to be sucked right into their bodies. Merged Zamasu is disgusted: “This is—” Gowasu finishes the line: “—sealing the power of a god into one’s body!”
  235. •Ending:
  236. •Taking battle positions, Full-Power Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Gokuu and Vegeta exhale in unison.
  237.
  238. Episode #24: “Full-Power Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan VS The Immortal God”
  239. •”W-what have they done?” Piccolo ponders aloud. Without taking his eyes off of Vegeta, Trunks replies “Dad showed me this while we were training in the Room of Spirit & Time. They’ve sealed the power of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in their body so that no ki leaks out! B-but the strain on their bodies is…” Gokuu and Vegeta give each other knowing looks. In their condition they can probably only last at this level for three or four minutes before their bodies give out; after that they won’t be able to lift even a finger. The Saiyan duo dashes at Merged Zamasu.
  240. •Opening Credits: Merged Zamasu the Immortal God finds himself with his hands full fighting two Full-Power Super Saiyans. Outpacing Merged Zamasu, Gokuu and Vegeta push to finish the fight before their bodies collapse from the burden of sealing their ki within them.
  241. •Gowasu realizes that he forgot to tell Gokuu and Vegeta that if they destroy the Potara then they won’t have to wait an hour for Merged Zamasu to split apart. Shin is confused, having thought that Potara merging was permanent. “Not if neither of the merged users are not Kaiou-shin!” Trunks takes note.
  242. •Title Card:
  243. •A Part: Gokuu and Vegeta begin to overwhelm Merged Zamasu. Whis theorizes that merging two of the same souls makes it difficult for the merged being to split their attention across two foes because they are essentially the same mind. Gokuu and Vegeta notice that Merged Zamasu’s not very adept at critical thought in battle and lead him into a very linear attack pattern. Able to predict Merged Zamasu’s movements and with their own time quickly dwindling, Gokuu and Vegeta slam a Final Kamehame-Ha into Merged Zamasu. When the dust settles Merged Zamasu’s shirt is burned away and his body is scarred. Of heavy breath, Merged Zamasu drops to one knee. Meanwhile, Gokuu and Vegeta collapse, unable to fight after sealing their ki for so long. “What a shame,” Whis comments, “The idea was right but they went about preventing the loss of ki from Blue far too forcefully. Spiritual balance is the key.” Merged Zamasu laughs at the turn of the tables and prepares a final blow to wipe away the paralyzed Gokuu and Vegeta. Suddenly, a sword soars through the air and destroys one of Merged Zamasu’s Potara while the other disintegrates due to damage from the Final Kamehame-Ha. Everyone is shocked but Trunks, determination adoring his face. Merged Zamasu explodes in light.
  244. •B Part: The dust settles, revealing that Merged Zamasu has split back into Gokuu Black and Zamasu. Whis takes in Gokuu and Vegeta behind his barrier and restores their health and clothes. Beers tells the two Saiyans from the past “Our role here is over. You’ve already interfered with the natural course of time too much.” Vegeta nods to Trunks. Gowasu asks his students if they won’t return to the light. The duo, of course, refuse and Gowasu finally turns his back on them. Trunks steps into the spotlight and challenges Black to a final duel. An exhausted Black is hesitant, but Beers offers that he won’t intervene, no matter the outcome. “I’ve played my part already.” Finally, Black accepts. It’s Super Saiyan Ikari versus Super Saiyan Rosé! Trunks finally overwhelms Black in combat, forcing Zamasu to leap in the way of one of Trunks’ stabs. Zamasu, however, finds that his injury won’t heal! It seems that by merging into Merged Zamasu and ‘ceasing to exist’ he lost his immortality! Zamasu sacrifices his dying self to give Black more ki.
  245. •Ending: Furious, Trunks, so incredibly in-tune with the people of Earth, draws on the will power of those humans remaining on Earth. Pouring this ‘hope’ into his blade, Trunks slices Gokuu Black in half and finally ending his reign of terror.
  246. •Trunks stabs his sword into the ground. His battle is over at last.
  247.

  252. •B Part: Back during the Sixth Universe & Seventh Universe Martial Arts Tournament, Zen-Ou asks Gokuu to be his friend and play with him. Gokuu, finding the idea to be kind of a pain, promises Zen-Ou that he’ll find him a great friend. Back in the present, Gokuu presents Present Zen-Ou to Future Zen-Ou and vice-versa. The two take a quick liking to each other and Gokuu breathes a sigh of relief. Later, on Earth, Future Trunks and Future Mai bid farewell to Gokuu and the others, thanking them for all their help. Now they’re off to rebuild their timeline.
  253. •Title Card: Trunks’ sword stuck into the ground, basking in sunlight among the dead city of the future.
  254. •Ending: Future Trunks and Future Mai meet for the first time during the peaceful days before Gokuu Black’s appearance. They spend all day talking at a giant water fountain.
  255. •“Wow, you want me to become your apprentice, Kaiou-shin-sama?!” Long before his heart had become corrupt by negative experiences with humans, Zamasu was approached by Gowasu to be his successor. “Please, call me ‘Gowasu’, Zamasu-kun.” As Gowasu watches Zamasu celebrate with his pet pig the camera zooms in on his smiling face before cutting to the present day Gowasu drinking from his tea cup. Gowasu sets his tea back onto its plate and looks forlornly at the great tree under which he sits. As the leaves fall around him Gowasu has but one word, “Zamasu…”

Finally, Gohan erupts into a Super Saiyan and manages to reach a draw with Lavenda. Gohan promises to do better at the main tournament.

  266. Episode #27: “Welcome to the Tournament of Power (Part II)”
  267. •The sun rises and Son Gokuu begins another boring day of farming. Present and Future Zen-Ou appear before Gokuu, thanking him for introducing them to one another. “But, that was, like, a year ago!” Gokuu proclaims, scratching his head in confusion. Present Zen-Ou asks Gokuu why he’s so down and Gokuu explains that he wants to fight someone strong! He’s bored, especially with Vegeta too busy helping Blooma get ready for the birth of their baby to train with him. Suddenly, Gokuu remembers about the tournament between all of the universes that he and Present Zen-Ou agreed to hold someday. Both Zen-Ou light up with excitement and agree, but then Future Zen-Ou realizes he doesn’t remember making this promise. “Oh, I have an idea!” counters Present Zen-Ou.
  268. •Opening:
  269. •Gokuu helps Gohan out of the ring, remembering the conversation with the Zen-Ou earlier this morning. Next up, Gokuu must face Bergamo, the strongest of the Ninth Universe’s trio.
  270. •Title Card:
  271. •A Part: Before the match begins, Bergamo asks the Zen-Ou why it is they are fighting this tournament. When the Grand Priest eventually reveals that the losers of the tournament with have their universes ‘erased’, everyone reacts with shock. Gohan remembers learning this from Gokuu after they left his house, placing his desperation to defeat Lavenda in a new context. Bergamo begins to use his sharp tongue to bad mouth Gokuu and get the other gods to think poorly of him. Bergamo immediately leans that this sort of tactic doesn’t affect a fellow like Gokuu, though, so Bergamo must rely on martial arts to win. Gokuu defeats Bergamo with a single blow to his solar plexus, catching him off guard with his split-second burst of radically higher power.
  272. •B Part: With Bergamo defeated the exhibition match ends. Before Gokuu can exit the ring he is attacked by a cloaked figure. This figure removes his cloak and reveals himself to be Toppo, leader of the Pride Troopers from the Eleventh Universe. Toppo finds Gokuu’s nonchalant attitude abhorrent and wishes to “show him justice”. Beers comments that Toppo is the sort to find himself in an early grave one day. Gokuu accepts, unveiling his newest evolution of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan: Gokuu can now transform into Super Saiyan Blue without losing stamina, allowing him to switch back and forth between that form and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan so he can control the rhythm of the battle. Toppo has difficulty adapting at first, but after bringing his ki to the forefront he is able to knock Gokuu off balance and control the pace of the battle. Gokuu realizes he is in a pinch and decides now is as good as any time to attempt to use ‘that’ that both he and Vegeta have struggled with. Before Gokuu can take his risk the Grand Priest calls an end to the match; they’ll have to settle things at the Tournament of Power proper.
  273. •Ending
  274. •The Grand Priest then divulges that the tournament will begin in forty hours and last for forty-eight minutes as a single eighty man battle between the eight universes with the lowest human ranking. All of the defeated universes will have their universes erased! The tension rises…

Finally, Gokuu stops walking and the camera pans up to his devilish smirk as he says “Yo!” A cocoon hanging from a tree is shot in a rotating shot to reveal…Freeza, an incredible smirk of evil glee erupting as he senses the familiar presence. Caulifla helps Gokuu fight the team off, but they’re outnumbered and overwhelmed by the tight teamwork of the Pride Troopers. Kale is eventually trapped in the Cocotte Zone, a barrier realm created by Cocotte. Meanwhile, Artificial Humans #17 and #18 arrive to help Gokuu and Caulifla. Zoiray and Khaseral agree to take out Caulifla and Kale first. Caulifla tries to defend the helpless Kale, but it overwhelms her attention-span and forces her breathing to the breaking point. 333. •A Part: The Muten Roushi battles and defeats Caway, Darkori and Ganos. Each battle wears him down until he nearly dies after defeating Ganos. Gokuu and Kuririn use a wave of ki to shock the Muten Roushi’s heart back to activity. Gohan uses a series of punches and kicks to lift Botamo off of the ground, allowing for Piccolo to kick Botamo out of bounds. The duo’s celebration is cut short when a sniper begins targeting them! Piccolo loses a leg and arm and is forced to use his stamina-draining regeneration. If they can’t take out the sniper soon Piccolo will use up all of his stamina!
  334. •B Part: The screen is black. Tenshinhan’s voice confidently washes over it, “Shishin no Ken!” During the Twenty-Third Tenka’ichi Budoukai Tenshinhan unveils his Shishin no Ken technique. This new technique allows Tenshinhan to create three copies of himself and attack from multiple angles, but Gokuu quickly figures out the technique’s weaknesses and uses it to overwhelm Tenshinhan. After the tournament, Tenshinhan admits to Chaozu that the Shishin no Ken was a failure. Chaozu counters, stating that it’s only because Ten-san’s so focused on using the technique for head-on attacks in one-on-one combat. Curious, Tenshinhan asks Chaozu what he means by that. “Well, how about…” Gohan and Piccolo deduce that the sniper targeting them is tracking them through their body heat after Piccolo sacrifices his arm to test their theory. Regenerating limbs is a clear drain on Piccolo’s stamina, which puts pressure on Gohan to locate their foe immediately. Tenshinhan, using his high-ground, assists the master and pupil through telekinesis. On reconnaissance, Tenshinhan locates Prum of the Second Universe—the source of the spheres that are sniping his teammates—but then notices that Prum is not the one actually sniping. No, the real sniper is in hiding, constantly changing his position. Prum and his spheres are merely a conduit for the ki blasts! Taking out Prum now would only drive the real sniper deeper into hiding; therefore Tenshinhan must wait it out. Tenshinhan uses the ‘Shin Shishin no Ken’ to create an eleven copies of himself. While he has now split his power twelve ways he can make use of their eyes and bodies to hide among the rubble and draw out the enemy. While the main Tenshinhan observes from outside, the other eleven Tenshinhan play Whack-A-Mole, forcing Prum and the real sniper to attack. Each copy is blasted back down, but with each copy sacrificed, Prum and his shadow’s positions are solidified. Finally, Tenshinhan locates Hermila of the Second Universe and informs Gohan and Piccolo of his location through telepathy. The Saiyan and Namekian duo ambush Hermila and knock him out of the ring. Prum tries to escape but is blocked off by twelve Tenshinhan. Prum manages to weather the storm of fighting twelve foes, forcing Tenshinhan to cease his Shin Shishin no Ken. As a result, though, this gives Prum the opportunity to blind Tenshinhan and escape back into hiding.

This officially ends the Tenth Universe’s run in the Tournament of Power. Everyone reacts with growing trepidation to the erasure of entire universe’s for the sake of some kids’ entertainment. The Muten Roushi battles Frost and tries to seal him with the MafuuBa, but fails due to his stamina being worn down. Frost lures the Muten Roushi into attempting the MaFuuBa again so that he can reverse the technique and use it on Vegeta. Frost is successful in doing this. Meanwhile, Dispo battles Maji Kayo. Jiren lends Dispo a hand after he begins to have difficulty with Maji Kayo. Jiren effortlessly dispatches Maji Kayo, whose liquid body had been giving even Dispo trouble. Finally, Gohan is cornered up against the edge of the combat ring. Freeza suggests to Frost that they end this with their full power. Frost and Freeza both power up, but Frost is surprised when Freeza transforms into a new form he has never seen: ‘Golden Freeza’. This confirms Freeza’s suspicion, that Frost does not have power comparable to his, and so kicks Frost towards Gohan. As if on cue, Gohan grabs Frost by the tail and swings him off of the platform. Gohan and Freeza’s secret plan to get rid of the pesky, slippery Frost has succeeded! “My, what a fiendish plan you thought up, Son Gohan-san,” commends Freeza before the cut to the Ending.
  345. •Ending:
  346. •Frost joins Botamo and Magetta on in the stands, cursing Freeza for betraying him. “Apparently, Freeza-san has more confidence in Gokuu-san achieving his resurrection than you, Frost-san,” comments Vados. Frost attacks Freeza from the stands but before he can make contact the Zen-Ou erase Frost for cheating.

  348. Episode #36: “Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor”
  349. •Meanwhile, Ribrianne smokes out Vegeta for a rematch. Vegeta unleashes Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, revealing that he can now transform into the form without exhausting his stamina. This means that he no longer has to maintain the form for long periods of time, which is also stamina-consuming. As a result, “Vegeta uses Blue…” as Tenshinhan notes, “…Similarly to the Kaiou-ken!” Thanks to this, Vegeta is able to match Ribrianne’s strength and speed at last. Dispo struggles to catch his breath as he battles Gokuu, who is also using Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan as if it were the Kaiou-ken, instantly popping in-and-out of the form to conserve stamina. Now that he, Toppo and Jiren are the only fighters remaining for the Eleventh Universe Dispo has been trying to handle the majority of the heavy lifting so that their two aces don’t exhaust themselves. In the stands, Vermouth notes Dispo’s decaying stamina and telepathically orders Jiren to step in. With blinding speed, Jiren knocks Gokuu clear across the combat arena, shocking everyone.
  350. •Opening: The Grand Priest declares the commencement of the Tournament of Power. Shadows of the eighty warriors soon mark the not yet bulldozed combat arena as a rush of bodies slam into one another. Combatants haphazardly strike one another, desperate to catch the tide of the battle on their side early on. Finally, Son Gokuu spots Jiren in the mass of fighters, unmoving, eyes shut. In a high angle shot Jiren opens his eyes to stare down Son Gokuu.
  351. •Title Card: Son Gokuu and Jiren stare one another down.
  352. •A Part: Twenty-two minutes later, Gokuu struggles to pick himself up out of the rubble after taking Jiren’s blow with no guard. Gokuu tries to use his Shunkan-Idou to teleport behind Jiren for a counterattack, but finds that he cannot sense Jiren’s ki at all. With Jiren likely to rush over to the other half of the ring to find Gokuu, the Saiyan decides to hide among the rubble while he regains his footing. Meanwhile, Vegeta battles Ribrianne, who believes her power of love to be superior to Vegeta’s. Ribrianne draws on the power of love from those around her to transform into Super Ribrianne and boost her attacks. Ribrianne criticizes Vegeta for not having the power of love, which leads Vegeta to ‘expose himself’, that is, unleash into Ribrianne’s mind the images within his heart. Dozens of still frames of Vegeta’s life are projected as rapid-fire speeds through the magical girl’s mind. Overwhelmed, Ribrianne stumbles backward, giving Vegeta the opportunity to launch a counterattack.
  353. •B Part: Gokuu comes out of hiding and unleashes his hidden trump card: [Insert Music: “Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor” by Johann Sebastian Bach] containing the power of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in his body, as he did against Merged Zamasu. Gokuu gains an upper hand against Jiren. [Insert Music ends] Gokuu now has more power to spare, but the burden of containing extra ki within his body means—as Vegeta theorizes—he can only perform at his ‘true full power’ for ten minutes at most. Vegeta recalls how he and Kakarrot first realized the weakness of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan when they discovered the form shortly after the battle with Beers. Seven days after the battle with Beers, Vegeta gathers the Saiyans and Videl at the same desert rock lands where he and Gokuu first fought, saying he wants to become a Super Saiyan God now, too. Goten, Trunks and Gohan get on the bandwagon, forcing everyone to draw straws. Vegeta is disgruntled to find he is last in line! Everyone performs the ritual, first Goten, then for Trunks, then for Gohan and finally Vegeta. Only Vegeta seems to be successfully able to transform into a Super Saiyan God. Gokuu reckons it’s because he and Vegeta are the only ones who actively train. Gokuu transforms into Super Saiyan God and decides to spar with Vegeta to help him get used to the form. Gokuu and Vegeta reach a standstill. Both realizing that if only they could transform into Super Saiyan to boost their power they’d be able to win the two Saiyans’ instincts take over and amidst their blows they erupt into Super Saiyans…but with blue hair! As Gohan watches the two pure bloods duke it out, he realizes he will never be on their level.
  354. •Ending:
  355. •Back in the present, all of the other contestants cease fighting so as to watch the battle between Gokuu and Jiren finally unfold for real. In the stands, Beers sweats as Jiren unleashes his ki, an effect good enough to prevent any of Gokuu’s blows from directly landing. “This Jiren bastard…he’s already as strong as a Destruction God!”
  356.
  357. Episode #37: “Jupiter aus ‘Die Planete’ Op. 32”
  358. •Super Saiyan Blue Gokuu and Vegeta train with Whis a week after the battle with Golden Freeza. Gokuu laments that even though he told Freeza off for rushing into battle before mastering his new form he did the same with his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Gokuu and Vegeta each try to seal the leaking ki of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan within their bodies, but the strain is too great and their bodies give out after only forty-five seconds. Whis offers that while they certainly need to improve their bodies’ physical condition, what’s really hurting them is how inefficiently they move their bodies. If only they would learn to let their bodies move on their own, like Whis has learned to do.
  359. •Opening: Gokuu slams every technique he has into Jiren.
  360. •While Gokuu slams every technique he has into Jiren, Shin asks Beers what he means by “Jiren is already as strong as a Destruction God.” Whis clarifies that while he can’t say for sure if Jiren is as strong as or stronger than any of the current Destruction Gods it is very much like having a thirteenth Destruction God. Beers reminds Shin that he was holding back when he fought Gokuu two years ago. Jiren isn’t even pretending to feel fazed by Gokuu’s attacks.
  361. •Title Card
  362. •A Part: Realizing he’s in a pinch, Gokuu returns to his base form and prepares a Genki-dama. [“Jupiter aus ‘Die Planete’ Op. 32” by Gustav Holst begins playing] All members of the Seventh Universe Team offer their genki to the Genki-dama, even Freeza! Pieces of light float out of the Seventh Universe team as they thrust their hands into the sky. Within those pieces of light reflect images of their memories. As the images of memories collect into the shape of a sphere above Son Gokuu the background turns black. The pieces of genki form the shape of a completed sphere. Finally, the camera zooms out on the Genki-dama to reveal that the Genki-dama was actually just Jiren’s iris. The camera continues to zoom, capturing Jiren’s unshaken composure. Jiren wants to take the attack head on. Super Ribrianne tries to snipe Gokuu while he forms his Genki-dama, but Vegeta knocks her aside just in time. With the Genki-dama formed, Gokuu tosses the ball down on Jiren, but Jiren knocks the attack back. “Incredible! Not even Majin Buu could push back the Genki-dama!” Gokuu transforms into Full Power Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan to power up the Genki-dama, but…Jiren merely calms his emotions and is able to push back the ball with his mind alone. Resistance is ultimately futile and Gokuu passes out, falling into his own Genki-dama. The ball of genki explodes, knocking the remaining fighters around and pushing back much of the rubble so that a large crater exists in the ring. Son Gokuu…appears dead.
  363. •Ending Credits: [“Jupiter aus ‘Die Planete’ Op. 32” continues through Ending Credits]
  364. •B Part: Before the Zen-Ou can declare Gokuu killed by his own attack Gohan interjects, arguing that his dad has been neither confirmed to be dead or to have been removed from the ring. The two childish gods agree with this flawless logic and tell the other fighters to hurry up and get back to fighting. Gohan silently hopes his dad is still alive before quickly moving into action: Jiren is a threat that must be contained and removed immediately. Gohan sets about explaining his plan to the others members of the Seventh Universe. Jiren, meanwhile, has begun to meditate. This meditation is quickly interrupted when the Muten Roushi unleashes his MaFuu-Ba on Jiren. Jiren effortlessly dispels the MaFuuba, blowing the green wind away with a simple swiping of his hand before then flicking the Muten Roushi out of the ring. The Seventh Universe Team has lost its first member! Kuririn attacks next, using his Kienzan, but with his hearing still affected, Kuririn’s aim falters and he finds himself locked into hand-to-hand combat with Jiren before finally taking an uppercut that sends him flying out of bounds…or so Jiren thinks! Tenshinhan uses a new technique of his to replace Kuririn with himself. Kuririn escapes disqualification while Tenshinhan lands in the bleachers alongside the gods of his universe. The two Zen-Ou declare that Tenshinhan is out of bounds and thus the second fighter from the Seventh Universe to be defeated. Kuririn unleashes his newly powered-up Taiyou-ken, but Jiren simply closes his eyes. He has no need of his sense of sight to deal with Kuririn. Jiren uses a karate chop to send Kuririn flying toward the edge of the arena again…only for him to be replaced by Tenshinhan again! Jiren turns to the bleachers to find that Tenshinhan is indeed still there—in fact, a second appears right next to him! Jiren realizes that Tenshinhan is splitting himself up into multiple bodies and hiding among the rubble so as to save his comrades. The Zen-Ou duo declares that Tenshinhan is not yet defeated and reverse their ruling in light of the new evidence. After the Twenty-Third Tenk’aichi Budoukai, Chaozu tells Tenshinhan that his Shishin no Ken technique is best suited to a support role during a team battle. Having multiple bodies with which to cover a large space and support teammates gives Tenshinhan the ability to defeat enemies with narrow skill sets. Back in the present, the Seventh Universe Team gathers, hiding among the rubble, to discuss their plan of attack against Jiren. Gohan asks Tenshinhan to play a support role and he graciously accepts. The Muten Roushi asks Tenshinhan to not save him should he fall out. After he fulfils his part in Gohan’s plan he will definitely have no more stamina left. Tenshinhan bitterly accepts this. Next, Gohan turns to Piccolo and says: “Piccolo-san, you will…”

  366. Episode #38: “Vegeta, Toward Selfishness”
  367. •A Vegeta disgruntled with his powerlessness against Hit at the Sixth & Seventh Universe Martial Arts Tournament spars with Gokuu. Vegeta pushes his Full Power Super Saiyan self to maintain the form for two whole minutes, but afterward finds he cannot even lift a single finger. Gokuu nods his head in agreement that they both still have a long way to go before they can use this power in combat.
  368. •Opening:
  369. •A Part: Artificial Humans #17 and #18 rain down concentrated volleys of ki bullets upon Jiren. While distracted, Jiren is left open to a massive one-handed Kamehame-Ha from Super Saiyan God Gohan. Tackling assaults on two fronts, Jiren is left open to Piccolo’s MaFuu-Ba…but Jiren merely stands in place, unaffected! Piccolo ends the technique to conserve strength, he and Gohan flabbergasted that their attack had no effect. In the stands, Vermouth explains that Jiren is the personification of justice and thus cannot be contained by an ‘evil sealing wave’. Vegeta tightens his glove’s grips and prepares to enter the fray.
  370. •B Part: After the battle with Zamasu Vegeta and Gokuu successfully complete five minutes of sparring in the gravity room while using Full Power Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. “A little while longer and we should be able to use the form in combat!” reasons Gokuu. “It’s not enough,” reasons Vegeta. Later, Vegeta washes away his worries in the gym shower. Blooma sneaks up behind him, takes his hand and places it upon her stomach. “Guess what?” Instantly sensing her meaning, Vegeta turns around and shows her his happily surprised face. “Oi, could it be…?!” Gokuu ruins the moments by standing up in the stall next to them and asking ‘the question’: “Are you getting fat?!” Back in the present, Vegeta watches two more Tenshinhan doppelgangers sacrifice themselves to prevent Kuririn and Piccolo from being thrown overboard. As Jiren returns to his resting position after launching his attacks, Vegeta transforms into Full Power Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and begins kicking Jiren in the head. Jiren narrowly manages to negate some of the kick’s power by moving his head, but still takes a nasty-sounding graze on his cheek and stumbles for a moment before quickly regaining his footing. Vegeta and Jiren begin trading blows. Vegeta’s theory that he would hold an advantage over Jiren after having watched how he fought goes down the toilet when he realizes that Jiren had been watching him fight earlier, too. Taking the pace early on was the linchpin of Vegeta’s plan, but that’s impossible now. Trading a few more blows with Jiren, Vegeta finally begins to realize why he’s at a loss for a decisive blow: Jiren is moving without thinking. “Migatte no Goku’i…” mumbles Beers, mouth agape. The audience is stunned to see a non-god using such a high-level technique. Whis explains that this is what he has been trying to teach Gokuu and Vegeta. Clearing his throat, Vegeta backs off and asks Gohan and Piccolo to cover him. He’s going to need to meditate so as to attempt to use the Migatte no Goku’i Whis has tried to teach him!

  373. Episode #39: “Tenshinhan, a Role to Play”
  374. •Vegeta returns to his normal form and hides among the debris while Gohan battles Jiren.
  375. •Opening:
  376. •A Part: Piccolo covers Gohan from a distance and prevents Jiren from searching for Vegeta while Gohan holds Jiren’s attention. Artificial Humans #17 and #18 join in on the attack, purposefully using confusion tactics to disrupt Jiren’s pace and force him to overexert himself at theirs. Jiren realizes that his foes are not losing stamina and decides to calm himself, making no moves at all. The key to victory is controlling the rhythm of the battle! Toppo and Dispo take their cue and corner off #17 and #18 from the rest of their teammates. Kuririn fires off a close-range Kienzan at full power, but Jiren uses his aura to redirect the attack towards Hit. Hit uses his stamina-consuming time-skip technique to allow the Kienzan to pass through him and safely out of the arena. Jiren dashes toward Kuririn and knocks him out of the arena, but an eleventh Tenshinhan saves Kuririn at the cost of his own role. With only one Tenshinhan left Jiren tells the Seventh Universe Team that their time is up. One-by-one the eleven Tenshinhan sitting in the stands disappear. The original Tenshinhan has called back his doppelgangers! Hiding amongst the rubble, Tenshinhan takes stock of his remaining stamina. Tenshinhan realizes he only has enough stamina left for one last attack. Jiren breaks past Gohan, Piccolo and Kuririn to begin searching through the rubble for Vegeta. Piccolo fires a Makankou-sappou at Jiren’s right popliteal fossa but with a simple mid-dash twist Jiren spins around and kicks the drill upward. Jiren begins knocking the rubble and pillars of rubble over using the gale force generated by mere punches through the air. As the rumbling grows closer, Vegeta digs deeper into his meditation. Whis’ words about moving without thinking haunt Vegeta. Finally, Jiren spots Vegeta, but a swift punch from Super Saiyan God Gohan dissuades Jiren’s course just long enough for Tenshinhan capture him in the Bankoku Bikkuri Shou technique. Tenshinhan finds that to help out Vegeta feels ironic, but if it means survival, he’ll swallow his pride and buy him the time he needs.
  377. •B Part: Meanwhile, Kuririn and #17 battle Toppo. Toppo slurs Son Gokuu as a devil and enemy to justice, which annoys Kuririn and leaves #17 repeating Beers’ line that Toppo is “the type of fellow sure to find himself in an early grave.” Artificial Human #18 breaks Dispo’s left arm with a nasty kick. Artificial Human #18 calls Dispo “an awfully boring rabbit” and challenges him to a high-speed game of peek-a-boo, but Dispo gets cramps from muscle fatigue. #18 takes advantage of the repercussions of Dispo’s heavy front load during the tournament and blasts him out of the ring. Now only two contestants from the Eleventh Universe remain. Kuririn’s balance issues are still affecting him. With his hearing so out of whack it makes it difficult to line-up with spur-of-the-moment combinations and attack patterns. With it being necessary to make preordained attack patterns, Kuririn and #17’s combinations get broken easily by the experienced Toppo. Kuririn comes up with one last strategy, but before he can tell it to Artificial Human #17 they’re separates by Toppo’s attack. With Toppo now taking advantage of Kuririn’s weakness by intentionally keeping the two apart and thus unable to synch up Kuririn realizes he has only one move left: hoping his brother-in-law can figure out his next plan. Kuririn draws Toppo’s attention, allows himself to be cornered and uses his Full Power Taiyou-ken to blind Toppo, who Kuririn lured in close by allowing himself to not be able to back up any further. Toppo loses his sense of sight, but can still sense ki! Toppo begins swiping at Kuririn, but Kuririn blocks with a cross block formation. The force of the punch is still enough to make Kuririn’s arms begin to swell from the beating. Just as he’s about to buckle under the pressure, Kuririn is saved by long-range ki bullet volleys from #17. Toppo is bombarded from behind, especially on his spine, but because artificial humans have no detectable ki he is unable to dodge without a sense of sight. Toppo pulls away from Kuririn’s corner to try to regroup, but #17’s volley follows him like a swarm of locus. Toppo begins moving at his highest speed, aiming to try and find the nearest rock formation he can hide in, but ki blasts from Kuririn, who he can sense and thus dodge, consistently course correct him. Toppo is essentially trapped in a cycle of taking fire, dodging fire he can sense only to be hit by fire he cannot sense and wasting his ki on futile running. Finally, Toppo trips over some rubble and hits the arena floor hard. Kuririn rushes in and grabs the floored Toppo by his legs and begins swinging him in a circle until he gains enough momentum to through Toppo toward the arena’s edge. Toppo tries to stop himself with a ki blast mid-air, but #17 pummels the penultimate Pride Trooper with a stream of ki to send him straight out of the arena. Now only Jiren remains to represent the Eleventh Universe Team.
  378. •Ending:
  379. •Kuririn thanks #17 for catching on, but #17 replies “It’s nothing, really. Nii-san is reliable,” which in turn makes Kuririn blush.
  380.
  381. Episode #40: “Vegeta, a Moment of Selfishness”
  382. •Jiren calmly meditates while the Bankoku Bikkuri Shou contains him.
  383. •Opening:
  384. •Tenshinhan sweats profusely, his limbs turning to jello under the strain of maintaining the Bankoku Bikkuri Shou.
  385. •Title Card:
  386. •A Part: Finally, Tenshinhan’s ki output falters, giving Jiren the chance he needs to break free. Tenshinhan collapses, barely able to maintain consciousness. Gohan unleashes a flurry of kicks to stop Jiren from approaching Tenshinhan. Even if Tenshinhan cannot fight, so long as he remains in the ring he still counts as a body in case they manage to knock off all of the other team’s participates and themselves. Jiren knows this fact and shows no qualms with disposing of the defenseless. Picking Tenshinhan up by the head, Jiren pulls back his throwing arm, but before he can launch his pitch, Vegeta grabs his hand. Vegeta has finished his meditation! In a burst of light, Vegeta transforms into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, seals the power of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in his body tighter and tighter until not only the disappearance of his aura, but the return of his hair and eyes to their normal black color. Yes: like Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan God before it, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan has been made a part of Vegeta’s natural state. Intense meditation and evolutionary instinct brought out by the urgency of his environment has allowed Vegeta to move up a step! Vegeta’s grip forces Jiren to his lose grip on Tenshinhan’s head, which in turns inspires Jiren to focus on Vegeta. A high-speed twister of punches and kicks commences, leaving the rest of the contestants in awe. Whis mentions that Vegeta-san has yet to achieve the Migatte no Goku’i, but his increased speed and strength helps off-set the gap between him and Jiren. Vegeta is now fighting evenly with Jiren! Jiren aims for Vegeta’s shoulder, but finds his aim is off. The Bankoku Bikkuri Shou seems to have affected his nervous system, marring his usual pinpoint motor control. A swift punch to the gut from Vegeta leaves Jiren coughing up blood! A heavy foot stomp breaks a few of Vegeta’s toes! Blow-after-blow, the two attempt to deliver their most damaging blows. Finally, Vegeta breaks off and unleashes his biggest, heaviest Final Flash, but like the Genki-dama before it, Jiren deflects the attack. Does his stamina know no end?
  387. •B Part: Vegeta’s stamina sure seems to know end! Exhausted by what he hoped would disrupt Jiren’s flow and exhaust his forceful physicality, Vegeta finds himself no longer capable to keep up with Jiren’s Migatte no Goku’i, even though he can now use Full Power Super Saiyan Blue without any drawbacks. “Damn, is this really the extent of my power?!” Whis shakes his head. “Yes, Vegeta-san has improved his control over his ki, but his mind and body are still not one. Jiren-san is merely more disciplined.” Vegeta tears off the remainder of his ravaged battle jacket and relaxes his tense muscles. Sensing that Vegeta has one last trick up his sleeve, Gohan, Piccolo, Kuririn, #17 and #18 move into position to shield him. Jiren calmly meditates; he isn’t giving up the flow of the tide any time soon. Gohan and Kuririn move into position to pin Jiren with a two-pronged Kamehame-Ha, but Jiren merely blocks the attacks by holding hold arms out to the side. Piccolo unleashes his Makuuhou’i-dan, but Jiren effortlessly dodges each bullet, in no way feeling caged. Artificial Humans #17 and #18 tag-team Jiren, disrupting his sense of perception and flow with varying speeds, colored ki bullets, and length of attacks. Eventually, Jiren merely grabs Kuririn and uses him as a shield, which breaks the combination attacks’ flow and gives him the opening he needs to send them flying in opposite directions for the ring-out. Finally, Jiren sends Kuririn in a third direction and turns his attention to Vegeta. Gohan tears off the sling created for him by Piccolo and wraps it around Jiren’s neck, hoping to suffocate him just enough to fall into unconsciousness. Jiren uses his ki to incinerate the cloth and uses a spinning motion and a judou chop to knock Gohan face-first into the arena floor. Jiren makes an intimidating mad dash towards Vegeta who bobs his body up-and-down in preparation for the next move. Finally, Jiren reaches contact distance and launches a punch so great it seems to ignite into fire, leaving a trail of fire and smoke in its jet stream. Vegeta digs into his memories and pulls out a technique Kakarrot once used on him during their training with Whis: utsuri-goshi! Vegeta uses the rushing force of Jiren’s attack to propel him straight into the pavement of the arena floor. The force of the slam is so great it officially splits off a fourth of the arena from the rest. Vegeta finds himself crawling away from the edge of the newly split off chunk of arena. The concentration needed to precisely catch Jiren’s rhythm, in combination with his own exhaustion and accumulated injuries, has left him struggling to move. To everyone’s horror, Jiren climbs to the top of the split-off chunk of arena to join Vegeta as the only two remaining on the new island. The chunk continues to widen in distance from the main portion of the arena, making it impossible for Gohan and the others to join in with Vegeta. “Since we can’t fly and our bodies are so wrecked we won’t be able to help Vegeta-san,” curses Gohan. Jiren gains some distance from the edge of the arena island before returning to meditating. Vegeta catches his breath, staring down the shut-eyed Jiren. A strange whistling noise catches Vegeta’s attention and the Saiyan Prince soon realizes…it is Jiren’s nose. That utsuri-goshi broke Jiren’s nose and now he’s having difficulty breathing! “Chance!” Vegeta begins sending minute amounts of ki onto the arena floor to make the dust and microscopic debris rise up. Jiren’s breathing becomes more labored, but he nevertheless continues to meditate. Vegeta makes a mad dash for Jiren, hoping to force him to tax his body even more, but Jiren has no trouble dodging slightly dodging each of Vegeta’s attacks. Finally, Jiren grabs Vegeta’s right arm and swings him over his shoulder so as to slam him into the arena floor. Vegeta uses his opportunity to grab onto Jiren’s upper front teeth. The force of the stop breaks Vegeta’s right shoulder while also causing Jiren to suck in the dirt in Vegeta’s left hand and the atmosphere. Jiren manages to finish swinging Vegeta into the floor but is too preoccupied with coughing up the dirt in mouth and lungs to follow up. Vegeta, meanwhile, struggles to focus his vision and stand. Vegeta crawls over to Jiren on his hand and knees and hammers him into the ground as he did ReaCoom all those years ago. Next, hardly even awake, Vegeta begins rolling Jiren’s body toward the edge of the arena. Rolled over onto his back, Jiren grabs Vegeta’s arms and throws him toward the edge. Vegeta grabs onto the edge of the arena pulls himself up onto his feet. In the stands, Beers realizes that Vegeta is no longer even conscious. Jiren pulls himself up and begins jabbing at Vegeta, who seems to effortlessly dodge the attack and reply with a punch of his own. The punches slip to the side of Vegeta as if he was a stone step in a river. Jiren stops as he realizes that Vegeta is no longer conscious. With his mind finally inactive, Vegeta has achieved by Migatte no Goku’i. Smirking, Jiren waits and waits. Finally, Vegeta falls backward and off of the arena. The dual Zen-Ou declare that Vegeta is eliminated!
  388. •Ending:
  389. •Vegeta is fed a Senzu by the Muten Roushi. Whis teases Vegeta for not even being awake for when he first used the Migatte no Goku’i for the first time. Vegeta is dumbfounded.

  391. Episode #41: “Arena on the Edge of Forever”
  392. •Jiren finishes meditating and leaps from the sub-arena island to the main island, ready to continue eliminating the Seventh Universe. The assassin of the Sixth Universe, Hit, strikes at Jiren only for his hand to be stopped before it can reach Jiren’s heart. “What do you think you’re doing, Assassin?” asks Jiren. “Not much, just working,” replies Hit.
  393. •Opening:
  394. •Rain fall eclipses all other sound. The family of Son Gokuu mourns his death at his funeral. Hit watches from a distance.
  395. •Title Card:
  396. •A Part: “Trying to kill me, even if means being disqualified?” asks Jiren. With a smirk, Hit replies, “Perhaps.” Out of nowhere, Kale, Caulifla, Cabba, Saoneru and Pirina launch blasts on Jiren. “A good assassin always has a back-up plan.” Jiren is forced back to the edge of arena and then knocked off by Hit. The moment Hit turns his back he instantly regrets it. Jiren blasted the air with ki so as to land against the side of the fourth of the arena that was now separated. From there, Jiren kicked off, grabbed Hit, and dragged him along with him into the gap between the two pieces of the arena. From there, a split-second battle between Time-Skip and Migatte no Goku’i commences. Hit tries to stay one step ahead of Jiren, but Jiren counters with his Migatte no Goku’i. Thanks to his motor control still being out-of-whack from Tenshinhan’s prior Bankoku Bikkuri Shou, Jiren suffers blows he normally wouldn’t, but the Migatte no Goku’i is still somehow able to give Hit trouble. The few seconds of falling feel like an eternity. Hit thinks back to that day of Son Gokuu’s funeral. Taking his leave, Hit’s steps on the rain-soaked grass catch the ears of assailants in wait. Vegeta, Piccolo, Kuririn, Yamcha, and the Son Brothers confront Hit. “We figured it was you,” Gohan reveals. A battle breaks out but Hit handles the mob attack with grace. Back in the present, Jiren gets the upper hand on Hit and uses the assassin’s body as a springboard to latch back onto the main arena while simultaneously hastening Hit’s descent. By the time Hit lands next to Champa in the audience—Champa shrieks “Shit!” when Hit appears next to him—Jiren has regained his footing on the main arena. With labored breathing, Jiren quickly covers his tracks and escapes to rest among the rubble.
  397. •B Part: Back in the past, Gohan and the others are beaten and bloodied. Hit is about to kill Goten, leading Vegeta to begin to unleash his trump card. Suddenly, Goten is freed…by Son Gokuu (still wearing his funeral outfit)! Yes, he survived the assassination attempt! At the last possible second he figured out the secret to Hit’s new killing technique and was able to just barely avoid a fatal blow. After a day or so in a death-like state, he awoke! Hit and Gokuu resume their match. Gokuu proves that he wasn’t bluffing and unleashes ki into Hit’s finger when he strikes Gokuu’s heart. Hit’s attack is neutralized and his nervous system thrown out of whack by Gokuu’s precise shock. After trading a few blows, Hit realizes that both he and the still injured Gokuu are now at a standstill and will have to continue their battle some other time. Back in the present, Hit has been taken out of the Tournament of Power! Hit was the leader and ace of the Sixth Universe Team, so the loss shakes them up quite a bit, especially Cabba. In the stands, Champa berates ‘Shit’ (he still can’t remember Hit’s name) for losing, especially so early and with so few bruises. Hit shakes his head, disappointed in himself for being so careless against such a weakened foe. This catches everyone’s attention. Champa asks Hit what he means, but Beers interjects: “He means that that Jiren is at a third of his norm!” Vegeta nods in agreement, Jiren’s stamina has been slowly chipped away at, especially after his nose was broken. If the others can get him to overexert himself then his defeat is secured. Vermouth admits to himself that Jiren is indeed injured and worn down to only a third of his usual stamina, but that won’t stop him. Jiren’s mind is still unwavering, which means he might as well not be impeded. Meanwhile, Gohan approaches Cabba with an olive branch: both of their universes are exhausted, injured and without their aces. They should work together to survive as long as possible. Caulifla agrees for the time being and tells Cabba to shake on it. Cabba asks why he is all of the sudden the leader, to which Caulifla says she and Kale only joined up because of Cabba. Cabba and Gohan shake on the alliance (to which the two Zen-Ou find a delightful twist) and set about deciding their next course of action. While their teams fought against Jiren the rest of the teams have kept quiet, slowly recovering their stamina and setting into place their plans to take advantage of their exhaustion. Fighting closely together is the only option now. Next, the members of the Third Universe begin to make their move. Katopesla leads the strike against the united Sixth and Seventh Universes, but Gohan and Cabba quickly prove that alliances will be the deciding factor when their alliance wipes out the remaining members of the Third Universe effortlessly.
  398. •Ending:
  399. •Jiren meditates, slowing his breathing as much as possible so as to not over-tax his lungs now that his nasal passages are so blocked.
  400.
  401. Episode #42: “Cabba, the Weight of the Torch”
  402. •The sounds of shoes and boots tipping and tapping on the roughened arena floor and the sound of the pillar at the middle of the arena thundering deeper and deeper through the arena make a harmonious melody. Tip, tap, chung, Tip, tap, chung. Tip, tap, chung. The repetition is broken only by the screams of fighters as they are thrust off of the combat arena. Now, only Gokuu, Gohan, Piccolo, Artificial Human #17, Artificial Human #18, Freeza, Cabba, Caulifla, Kale, Saonel, Pilina, Ribrianne and Jiren remain.
  403. •Opening:
  404. •A Part: Freeza fires a Death Beam at Cabba’s right shoulder. With Jiren and Ribrianne in hiding the evil emperor proposes that the alliance with the Sixth Universe is now over, since they will eventually have to fight one another anyway. Super Saiyan Cabba tries to do battle with Freeza but is no match for him nor is he able to suggest they continue the alliance. Finally, Cabba achieves Super Saiyan 2 out of frustration for his failure to fulfill his promises to Hit and Vegeta. Freeza nevertheless continues to dominate Cabba. Finally, beaten black and blue, Cabba asks Freeza to win. Impressed by how persistently different Cabba is compared to the Saiyans from his universe, Freeza promises to win the Tournament of Power and knocks Cabba out of the ring. Meanwhile, Piccolo and Gohan battle Saonel and Pilina respectively. The two Namekians display resounding teamwork that forces Gohan to cover for Piccolo and take the brunt of the damage. Noticing this, Piccolo demands Gohan use him as a distraction. Gohan reluctantly agrees but the plan backfires and Piccolo is knocked unconscious.
  405. •B Part: Artificial Human #18 finds her prey and sets about challenging the depressed Ribrianne with regards to the truth of her ‘love’. Ribrianne realizes that her love has been impure and selfish up to this point and through #18’s taunting and challenges resolves to reform her use of love. As if by instinct, Ribrianne’s body begins to draw on her small love for others—rather than other’s love for her—to power her attacks. Artificial Human #18 still holds the advantage, though, and sends Ribrianne flying out of the arena.
  406. •Ending:
  407. •Artificial Human #17 finds Jiren and disrupts his meditating. #17 tries to draw Jiren into overexerting himself, but Jiren stands still, knowing that if he isn’t on the offensive he can’t waste his ki against a foe with endless stamina.
  408.
  409. Episode #43: “The Ultimate Combination! Caulifla & Kale”
  410. •Bored out of their minds, Caulifla and Kale decide to hunt down the missing Son Gokuu and see if they can fight him.
  411. •Opening:
  412. •With the battles having moved away from the epicenter of Gokuu’s Genki-Dama, Caulifla and Kale investigate the now barren area free from enemy attack. Kale wonders if they’ll actually find anything. Caulifla affirms that they will, “I can smell that old man!” Kale slips while trying to join her ‘ane-san’ atop a mountainous pile of rubble and causes it to collapse. When the dust settles Caulifla exclaims “Aha, I found it!” Kale cleans her eyes of dust and sees Caulifla holding up Gokuu’s shredded dougi top. “You smelled his shirt?” “Yeah, it smells just like the old man!” “All that’s left of him is his shirt?” “Naw, why would his shirt survive but not him?” “But then…where is he?”
  413. •Title Card: Kale happily smelling Caulifla’s laundry before putting it into the washer while wearing a perverted expression.
  414. •A Part: The two Saiyan girls begin to take fire from an unidentifiable source. The two girls quickly and seamlessly begin covering one another while checking their surroundings. Someone’s attacking them while hiding! Kale realizes that they need to clear the area of rubble and quickly wipes away the rubble with ki streams. Meanwhile, Caulifla leaps into the area to provide an easy target to distract their hidden foe from noticing Kale’s plan. A figure leaps out of the way of Kale’s attack only to be pinned in mid-air by the two. “Damn!” Gokuu has been caught! Yes, it was Gokuu attacking from the shadows; he survived the battle with Jiren! But wait…he’s naked! Yes, the Genki-dama destroyed all of his clothing. Kale is embarrassed and hides her eyes while Caulifla’s nose bleeds as her eyes lewdly scan Son Gokuu’s heavily detailed musculature. Caulifla tries to get Kale to look but when she does Kale blanches at finding anyone other than ‘ane-san’ even remotely attractive. Kale yells at Gokuu to get dressed only for him to ask “Does it really matter?” Gokuu uses the basics of judou to lead his two foes’ attacks and let them fall to the ground under their own weight. Hyped, Caulifla chest puffs: “So, yer alive after all, Old Man!” Scratching his nose, Gokuu mumbles something about his name not being ‘Old Man’ then takes his usual form. Caulifla transforms into Super Saiyan 2 and Kale transforms into her normal Super Saiyan form to conserve stamina. The two overwhelm Gokuu with their team work, prompting Whis to tease Vegeta about how he and Gokuu-san should learn to take a page from those two. Gokuu raises his ki to Super Saiyan 2-esque levels and begins to minimize his movements, hoping to conserve his stamina as well. Caulifla tells Gokuu to teach her Super Saiyan 3, but Gokuu just replies “It’s useless.” Caulifla and Kale both become frustrated, especially Kale because she can see how much fun ‘ane-san’ is having and she doesn’t want to lose yet. Caulifla transforms into her berserker form and catches everyone else’s attention.
  415. •B Part: “Gokuu’s alive!” everyone celebrates at this prospect, but Vegeta says that Kale will be a problem. Helles demands that somebody restore Gokuu’s clothing but none of the angels (and or the male Destruction Gods) even care. “Besides, Gokuu-san won’t stay still long enough for any of us to properly materialize new clothes on him!” Gokuu raises his ki further and further, unveiling more and more power to match Kale. Caulifla thanks Kale for fighting with her and the two begin to take a decisive lead against Gokuu. Finally, Gokuu’s ki rises to his usual Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan level…without him transforming! Vegeta theorizes that Kakarrot was studying how he was networking his ki while he was in hiding and meditating to replicate what he achieved during the battle with Jiren. Whis theorizes that despite taking a beating from Jiren and his own Genki-Dama Gokuu’s doing so well because of how long he spent meditating unperturbed. Gokuu knocks Kale and Caulifla back to their normal forms, prompting the two to go into hiding. A few seconds of Gokuu searching for the two pass before he is confronted by a warrior wearing…Potara?!
  416. •Ending:
  417.
  418. Episode #44: “An Omen of Selfishness”
  419. •Before the tournament Champa presents Caulifla and Kale with Potara. “These secret weapons are only to be used in the greatest of pinches, so save them until the end!” In the present, Caulifla reminds Kale of the Potara. “As a team we were able to force Son Gokuu to go all-out, as one we’ll be able to surpass Gokuu’s full power!”
  420. •Opening:
  421. •The merged Caulifla and Kale introduce the still-naked Gokuu to their current form: Kefla. Kefla transforms in a slightly buff green-haired Super Saiyan form, just like Kale’s form.
  422. •Title Card: Kefla taking a ‘selfie’.
  423. •A Part: With Gokuu standing still long enough at last Whis materializes the same dougi he wore when they first met onto his person. “It’s so nostalgic!” Gokuu and Kefla go at it. The two are even at first, but the longer the battle runs the more control Kefla gains over her power. Finally, despite being able to draw on Super Saiyan Blue levels of power in his normal form, Gokuu is overcome by his injuries from earlier and Kefla’s raw power. Because of the intense synchronization of Kale and Caulifla’s minds Kefla’s ki bullet storms feature frightening speed, accuracy and nearly unpredictable flight patterns. Just as he is about to receive a stunning kick to the head Gokuu stumbles forward and Kefla’s kick misses. Kefla attempts a few more blows, but Gokuu seems to stumble right around them. Finally, Vegeta hops out of his seat and exclaims “This is…!!!”
  424. •B Part: “This is…the Migatte no Goku’i!” Vegeta declares. Whis agrees, “Gokuu-san is indeed using a form of the discipline. It’s almost as if it is a premonition that he is on the cusp of something…” Finally, Gokuu catches Kefla’s leg mid-kick, much to her surprise. Gokuu’s head rises from its gazing at the ground to reveal a silver glow in his eyes! [“Saikyou no Battle” performed by Kushida Akira begins to play] Suddenly, Gokuu’s aura erupts. Gokuu’s power suddenly soars to new heights and Kefla soon finds herself on the receiving end of a nasty beating. Kefla backs off long enough to regain her composure before transforming into a Super Saiyan 2. Gokuu skillfully aims for Kefla’s vitals so as to slow her breathing and injure her joints. Finally, Kefla fires off her Crush Cannon at full power, but Gokuu counters with a close-range Kamehame-Ha that sends her flying out of the ring and destroys the Potara. [End insert song “Saikyou no Battle”] The Zen-Ou both declare that both Caulifla and Kale are eliminated.
  425. •Ending:
  426. •Gokuu begins slowly walking toward Jiren.
  427.
  428. Episode #45: “The Cruel, Unending Tournament of Power”
  429. •Artificial Human #17 and Jiren stare down. The world is silent but for Jiren’s slightly labored breathing. #17 unleashes a volley of ki blasts, but Jiren simply walks right through them. Realizing that Jiren will reach him before he can tired him out, #17 begins putting distance between the two of them, but this eventually puts him…right at the edge of the ring!
  430. •Opening:
  431. •#17 decides to close the gap between him and Jiren, hoping that close combat will prompt Jiren to take swings at him and waste his ki. Artificial Human #18 launches a sneak attack from behind, timing her attack with Jiren’s evasions and successfully burning the back of his head. Jiren grimaces from the burning sensation, prompting #17 to taunt that if he hadn’t been so tired from fighting up to this point then he would’ve been able to dodge even that. Jiren calms himself and begins firing off fast but graceful jabs. #17 dodges while #18 attacks, which forces Jiren to dodge only to be hit by #17, who is able to predict where #18 will force Jiren to move. Jiren becomes trapped in a never-ending cycle, built specifically to tire him out. “You might be a force of nature, but we cyborgs are a force of man!”
  432. •Title Card: #17 and his family build a snow fortress.
  433. •A Part: Meanwhile, Gohan pleads with Saonel and Pilina to rejoin forces with the Seventh Universe until Jiren is defeated. Saonel admits that it might be the smartest move at this point, but they’re not quite interested in joining forces with Freeza after the brutal beating he gave Cabba. Freeza overhears this from his place atop the ever descending center pillar and taunts the two, which evokes a rather torrid response from the two, especially Pilina. Gohan finds himself in the position of having to protect Freeza, who has the most stamina left, from wasting his stamina and their chance of survival on the two Namekians. Using Super Saiyan God, Gohan begins slamming his heaviest punches and kicks into Pilina. Eventually, Pilina’s arms drop, too hurt and swollen to use for anything, let alone blocking. Saonel tries to break past Gohan, but Gohan grabs the leaping Namekian and slams him into his partner. With a full-power Kamehame-Ha, Gohan blasts the two previously-knocked-on-their-asses Namekians out of the ring. Beers bids farewell to Champa. Cabba bows to his ‘Master Vegeta’. Gokuu gives Caulifla and Kale a thumb up. The Sixth Universe disappears in a flash. Piccolo awakens and stumbles over to Gohan’s position. Son Gohan and Piccolo rest for a moment back-to-back without saying a word so as to listen to the sounds of the battles in the distance. The sound of Gokuu walking across the ring steadily grows louder.
  434. •B Part: Against a setting sun Son Gokuu and Artificial Human #17 do battle. Gokuu can’t believe how much more powerful #17 has become, being able to even match him as a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. #17 feigns modesty in his usual calm demeanor but then warns that he has an ace up his sleeve, too. In the present, Artificial Human #17 prepares his trump card. #17 unleashes his ultimate attack while #18 distracts Jiren long enough to prevent him from evading. Jiren catches #17’s fluctuating stream of ki, closes his eyes, and matches the frequency of #17’s ki just long enough to coat himself in an aura that can pass through #17’s stream and allow him to land a solid blow. Taken aback, #17 takes the blow to the head with no guard. Stunned by the slugging, #17 cannot stop himself from being kicked off the edge. Artificial Human #18 launches another volley of ki to try and overexert Jiren’s body and ki but Jiren merely dashes straight through the volley, grabs #18 by the throat, and throws her straight toward the stands. “No more beating around the bush,” Jiren decrees. Kuririn dashes across the stands and catches #18 before she can crash into the seats at high-speed. #18 blushes and whispers something into Kuririn’s ears, which naturally elicits a comically silly face from the former monk. Meanwhile, on his journey to Son Gokuu, Jiren comes across the tuckered out Gohan and Piccolo. The two pick themselves off the ground and dash at Jiren with slipshod form. Despite using various combinations and timed movements to try and hit Jiren the final Pride Trooper bypasses them and counters during the duo’s openings. Piccolo uses his elongating arms to wrap around Jiren at his joints, effectively preventing him from moving. Super Saiyan God Gohan unleashes a series of punches on Jiren’s torso but Jiren replies by matching his breathing to Gohan’s timing, effectively reducing the strain on his body by leading Gohan’s punches. Gohan breaks off his attack once he realizes what is going on. Jiren head butts Piccolo from behind—even though it means agitating the burn on the back of his head—and frees himself from Piccolo’s locking. Jiren crushes Piccolo’s chest with a palm thrust and then roundhouse kicks him out of the ring. [Insert Song: “Unmei no Hi ~ Tamashii tai Tamashii” performed by Kageyama Hironobu] Gohan’s ki explodes to its fullest power. Gohan attacks Jiren, but Jiren counters with a stabbing thrust of his right hand fingers into Gohan’s throat. [Insert Song: “Unmei no Hi ~ Tamashii tai Tamashii” is abruptly cut off thirty-one seconds into the song]. Gohan passes out from the attack, allowing Jiren to toss him lightly out of the ring. Now only Son Gokuu and Freeza remain to stop Jiren from winning the Tournament of Power.
  435. •Ending:
  436. •Using only a single key frame, Jiren meditates for forty-five seconds as Son Gokuu’s footsteps steadily grow louder from off-screen. Son Gokuu finally reaches Jiren by walking on screen from the corner of the screen. The two stare one another down for fifteen seconds before the Saiyan’s hair turns to silver in a flash of light that ends the episode.
  437.
  438. Episode #46: “The Ultimate Battle”
  439. •“Whatever Gokuu’s new form is it’s definitely given him an incredible amount of power!” reasons Kuririn. As the time limit reaches only one minute left in the Tournament of Power the once darkened skies of the World of Void burns away into nothing but white. A silver-haired Son Gokuu and Jiren finally meet face-to-face again. “Jiren…” says Gokuu.
  440. •Opening: a montage of the tournament so far.
  441. •After the battle with Zamasu and Gokuu Black lied a quiet day. Son Gokuu and takes Goten and Pan fishing but can’t help but think about how disappointed he was having to rely on fighting with Vegeta to match Merged Zamasu. Even fighting Super Saiyan Rosé Black was difficult. Gokuu wonders aloud what it is he was missing. Idly watching Goten teach Pan how to use a fishing rod, Gokuu’s eyes are dull. [Insert Song: “Saikyou no Battle” performed by Kushida Akira] Suddenly, Pan catches a big one and pulls it up. The fish’s eyes are dull but its body squirms nevertheless, almost as if it has a mind of its own.
  442. •Title Card:
  443. •A Part: Back in the present [Insert song continues], Gokuu and Jiren begin a seemingly endless dance of trying to hit one another, but consistently failing due to their use of the Migatte no Goku’i. Whis estimates that both fighters are down to about a fifth of their full power with Beers adding “The real question is: who’s better than whom at one-fifth of their usual stamina?” As Vegeta watches the battle before him from the audience his eyes and hair acquire a silver glow: he has achieved the Migatte no Goku’i due to closely following how Gokuu’s ki is coursing throughout his body! [Insert Song Ends] Jiren begins to take the advantage over Gokuu. Gokuu simply isn’t as used to the Migatte no Goku’i as Jiren is. Frustrated, Gokuu realizes he needs more stamina.
  444. •B Part: Before parting ways after the exhibition match, Toppo warns Gokuu that there is a warrior in the Eleventh Universe that surpasses the Destruction Gods. “Surpasses the Destruction Gods, huh?” Gokuu wonders aloud while waiting for Kuririn to finish stretching for his spar with Gohan. “I wonder when I got so aimless…I feel like I haven’t made any progress in years…” Watching Kuririn do his best to fight Gohan, Gokuu remembers what it was like simply wanting to defeat himself and reach his own personal best. Kuririn’s sincerity fills Gokuu with strength. Returning to the present, Gokuu thanks Kuririn within his heart. Gokuu asks Jiren why he thinks he will win, but Jiren does not reply. Gokuu says that as much as he hates to admit it, Jiren is still far and above the better fighter of the two. “Sad to say, I can’t win on my own. But I’ve learned that the Tournament of Power isn’t just about a single fighter…” [Insert Song: “We Gotta Power (2005 ver.)” performed by Kageyama Hironobu] Suddenly, Gokuu’s aura erupts—incinerating both of his shirts—to everyone’s surprise. Whis and Beers realize what’s happening immediately: “The Genki-Dama shocked Gokuu into awakening the Migatte no Goku’i. The residual genki that his body absorbed is still deep within his body!” Images of the memories of the members of the Seventh Universe play the background behind Gokuu as his power grows and grows. To Jiren’s credit, the Pride Trooper calmly unleashes his full-power, too. Both fighters go at it one last time! Gokuu’s aura begins taking the shape of the silhouettes of the other nine members of the Seventh Universe team as he unleashes their techniques and movements against Jiren. Gokuu even smugly slaps the burn on the back of Jiren’s head! Finally, the two are caught in an incredible beam struggle that ends in an explosion! [Insert Song “We Gotta Power” ends] When the light clears the audience is shocked to find the arena is now nearly completely destroyed, only small chunks remaining. Both Gokuu and Jiren remain unmoving atop small floating boulders. “The time isn’t up yet!” “Someone can still win!” Suddenly, Jiren stands and dusts himself off rather nonchalantly. “It’s like he’s a force of nature!” an exhausted Gokuu says with a weak chuckle.
  445. •Ending:
  446. •Jiren readies to fire a ki blast large enough to take out the piece of arena that Gokuu is lying on. Suddenly, a Death Beam pierces Jiren’s shoulder from behind! That’s right, Freeza was still in bounds!
  447.
  448. Episode #47: “The Ultimate Battle (Part F)”
  449. •Freeza walks out of the shadows in a candle-lit room at Uranai Baba’s palace. Amusement plasters Freeza’s face as he takes in a deep breath to savor the air of the living world. Stretching as he inhales the air, Freeza asks Gokuu if he wouldn’t help him stretch his rusty body a little.
  450. Opening: Freeza’s various moments of cruelty and triumph animated to “F” by Maximum the Hormone.
  451. •Gokuu and Golden Freeza do battle. Freeza savors the opportunity to pound on Son Gokuu once again but Gokuu is no slouch, either. The ‘spar’ is brief but brutal, both obtaining bruises, cuts and broken bones. Finally, Whis stops the brief sport and tells them they must hurry along.
  452. •Title Card: Freeza’s vacant hover chair.
  453. •A Part: Freeza smugly fires off several Death Beams at Jiren but the final Pride Trooper re-initiates the Migatte no Goku’i and avoids the beams with minimal movement. Freeza grimaces with annoyance but only long enough for Jiren to instantly close the gap and knock Freeza around a little. Before he can deliver a finishing blow, however, Jiren’s body reacts violently to using the Migatte no Goku’i and he can no longer hold it. Freeza takes this moment to gain some distance between him and Jiren and uses his telekinesis to shroud himself in a field of debris. After the battle on Planet Namek, the Great King Cold lifts weights while his spaceship traverses space towards Earth. Freeza adjusts the grip of his new mechanical hand, absent mindedly waiting for his Papa to finish his lifting. Freeza asks Papa why it is he bothers training; they’re already the strongest in the universe. Cold replies that if such was true he wouldn’t be looking so sorry right now. “Tch,” is all Freeza can say in reply. Cold goes on to postulate that their race is the greatest because they have potential to surpass the gods should they put their mind to it. Freeza is hardly convinced, though, and says he plans on killing Son Gokuu and his friends once they arrive on Earth to prove that Namek was just a fluke. Meanwhile, back in the present, Freeza catches his breath while hidden among the floating debris. Without warning, Jiren punches through the debris that Freeza is leaning against and knocks him through the field into another large chunk of the arena. Freeza finds himself on the ass-beating end of an ass-beating but refuses to give in. “I’ll show you!” Freeza screeches. Freeza slices off his tail to free himself from Jiren’s foot holding him in place. Freed from Jiren’s hold, Freeza backs up to gain enough distance to slam a Death Ball onto Jiren only to find that he can’t back up any further without going out of bounds. Jiren closes the gap between them quickly—in turn making it difficult for Freeza to attack without potentially killing himself. Finding himself in a new—if precarious—position, Freeza makes the briefest of considerations before a surprise attack from behind stops Jiren’s advance: Artificial Human #17 was still in the game!
  454. •B Part: In the midst of the Tournament of Power two contestants previously unacquainted meet in the thick of the battle royal. As the explosions around them drown out their voices they need only a glance between them to understand one another. Son Gohan and Artificial Human #17 fight back-to-back, knocking their foes aside and protecting one another from sneak attacks. Later, after being knocked off of the side of the arena by Jiren #17 catches onto the ridge of the arena and pulls himself back up. In the stands, #18 smiles when she realizes that #17 has yet to fall out of bounds, even if she cannot see him on the field (the shots of the audience up to this point are close-ups, thus presenting the illusion that #17 was knocked out of bounds). With Jiren now distracted by other things #17 decides to make use of his lack of ki that can be detected and hide. Artificial Human #17 blasts Jiren in the back, landing a solid stinger on the increasingly wounded and exhausted Pride Trooper. Freeza uses the distraction to slip past Jiren and uses a ki blast on Jiren’s body to propel himself toward #17. Freeza and #17 begin a combination play against Jiren. Jiren breaks from the duo’s control of the pace after breaking #17’s foot. No long able to move, #17 can only fight from a stationary position. Jiren launches a powerful ki bomb toward Freeza and #17. The light from the ki bomb reflects in #17’s eyes. The previous night, a flabbergasted Son Gokuu asks #17 why he won’t fight in the Tournament of Power despite now knowing about the consequences. With the camp fire reflecting in his eyes the Monster Island Ranger explains that if it is their time to go it is their time to go. “What a shame,” Gokuu retorts as the starry sky above reflects in his eyes, “I’d hate to have all the strong people I’ve fought up until now mean nothing.” This catches #17’s ear. The cyborg turns to Son Gokuu, eyes wide. Back in the present, Son Gokuu grabs his two teammates and teleports them behind Jiren. Now that he’s in such poor condition Jiren can no longer fluctuate his ki to avoid detection and thus is now susceptible to Gokuu’s Shunkan-idou! Artificial Human #17 fires twin ki streams while Gokuu and Freeza use them as cover in their mad-dash to Jiren. Son Gokuu and Freeza trade looks. “Remember your promise,” they both shout to one another over the noise of their footsteps. Together, the two slam into Jiren and begin pushing him towards the edge of the arena. Jiren pushes back, refusing to give up, and tosses them toward the center of the ring. Gokuu and Freeza springboard off of the center pillar. Freeza has Gokuu toss him at Jiren and with the extra momentum slams Jiren downward through several layers of debris. Gokuu fires a Kamehame-Ha through his feet to catch up with Freeza and together they finally overpower Jiren and take him with them out of bounds. Artificial Human #17 is declared the winner of the Tournament of Power. Resting in the stands, Jiren smiles in the face of defeat, eyes closed. Toppo and the other Pride Troopers huddle around their ace and thank him for never giving up. “Huh, even that emotionless guy has friends?” comments Gokuu with an amused expression. Jiren smiles as he and the Eleventh Universe burn away in a white light, the lines that make the drawings of their bodies burning like leaves in a firestorm.
  455. •Ending:
  456. •The massive Super Dragon Balls appear to surround the ring of the Tournament of Power.
  457.
  458. Episode #48: “I’m Glad”
  459. •The world of void is pure white. Artificial Human #17 stands beneath the behemoth Super Dragon Balls. The Grand Priest asks him what his wish will be. #17 opens his mouth…
  460. •Title Card: White text on a black background that reads “Restore the erased universes.”
  461. •A Part: #18 asks #17 if he’s sure about his wish. “Usually you’re so much more…disinterested in others.” #17 replies with a smirk and “It seemed like such a shame to have all the interesting people I’ve met up until now mean nothing,” as a clear reference to his talk with Gokuu the night before. “If possible…” #17 continues, “I’d like for my children to also feel like their lives meant something to them, too.” The Grand Priest reveals that if the winner hadn’t wished for the restoration of the other universes then the Zen-Ou would’ve just erased the last universe, convinced that all of those eight lower universes were unworthy. Gokuu laughs at this revelation as only Gokuu can. Freeza asks to be returned to Hell, even though he still has twenty-three hours left to roam the living realm. Freeza is none-too-pleased to see the others celebrate, after all. Whis restores Freeza to life, saying it is a gift from Beers-sama. Freeza asks if he really thinks that was smart idea but Gokuu promises to stop him if he ever tries anything evil again. As a result, the Seventh Universe team returns to Capsule Corp for a celebration party.
  462. •Opening: Gokuu and the others party at Capsule Corp.
  463. •B Part: Across the seven erased universes the various fighters reflect on their experiences. In the Sixth Universe Caulifla tries to convince Cabba to try and attain Super Saiyan 3 along with them while a smiling Hit returns to the shadows. In the Second Universe Ribrien praises the love of the Seventh Universe. In the Eleventh Universe Toppo wonders if he is truly ready to become the successor to Vermouth-sama. “I’m sorry you didn’t get your wish, Jiren. Still, that Son Gokuu…sure was an interesting fellow, eh, Jiren?” Toppo turns to find his friend nowhere to be found. “He left a few minutes ago,” Dispo says. Looking into the golden light above, Toppo says by one word: “Jiren…”
  464. •Ending: Gokuu and do battle in the wasteland where they first fought.
  465. •A silent shot of a grave. A silent wide shot of Jiren crouched above the grave followed by a close-up of Jiren’s eyes. “Mom, Dad, Master...I’m sorry, I didn’t get my wish. You’re still dead. But…I met a lot of interesting fellows. Together they were able to make me face something I’ve never had to. I’m glad.” A black title card reads: “Dragon Ball Super” in orange text.
  466.
  467. Broli Arc:
  468.
  469. Episode #49: “The Strongest Saiyan”
  470. •On the scarcely inhabited Planet Vampa, a Saiyan named Broli kills a large animal and eats it.
  471. •Opening:
  472. •On the new resort island created by Blooma the Dragon Team relax. A short while has passed since the Tournament of Power and Gokuu and the others are recharging their bodies in style. While Gokuu and Vegeta eat voraciously, Whis asks Son Gokuu (wearing his outfit from the cover of Dragon Ball Tankoubon Volume #26) why he wants to improve so much. Gokuu explains that after the Tournament of Power he realizes just how much he has to improve and wants to start right away! Meanwhile, Vegeta (wearing blue jeans and a flannel top) answers that with Freeza alive again he serves as too much an imminent threat. Gokuu counters that Freeza wouldn’t do anything too bad since they worked together at the Tournament of Power but Vegeta calls him naïve in response.
  473. •Title Card:
  474. •A Part: Lemo and Chirai arrive on Planet Vampa and become acquainted with Paragus and Broli. The two Saiyans are invited back to their empire.
  475. •B Part: Broli and Paragus meet Freeza. Hearing that Broli is supposedly powerful beyond imagine Freeza has Broli battle Tagoma and Shisami, whom he has kept locked up in a cell with the corpse of Sorbet while he thinks of how he wants to make their deaths painful. Both fighters are overwhelmed by Broli’s strength and Freeza is gleefully happy to see that Broli need not even transform into a Super Saiyan to crush them. After an attack from Tagoma angers Broli the Saiyan grows larger in size (transforming into his ‘Rage’ form) and kills both Tagoma and Shisami by literally crushing them against the wall or the floor.
  476. •Ending: With Broli beginning to go on a rampage Paragus uses his mind control device to subdue Broli by activating his necklace that sends high-voltage charges throughout Broli’s body. Chirai is none-too-pleased by this treatment of Broli.
  477. •Broli showers the blood away and then dons his new battle jacket.
  478.
  479. Episode #50: “Friends”
  480. •An irate Beers finds himself babysitting Bra while Blooma and the others fly via aircraft through the arctic. Beers mumbles to himself about “why do I have to watch the kid just because I don’t care about retrieving those damned stolen Balls?”
  481. •Opening:
  482. •Gokuu and Vegeta discuss their new winter coats while discussing the news that Freeza has apparently started collecting the Dragon Balls again.
  483. •Title Card:
  484. •A Part: Broli, Chirai and Lemo bond over lunch at the commissary. Broli explains that the green fur he's wearing comes from his very first friend, Baa. Planet Vampa displays two types of creatures: the spider-crabs and some gigantic green fur long necked dog-like creatures that live within the craters found on the surface of the planet. As a kid, Broli trained by continuously dodging the attacks of one of these green furred creatures, and by repeatedly doing so they became friends. One day though, Paragus attacked this creature, severing one of its ears. After that incident, the creature stopped interacting with Broli, and a saddened Broli decided to wear the fur of that severed ear around him so that they'd always be together. After hearing this story, Lemo says that Broli is a really pure being, to which Chirai adds that she thinks Broli doesn't really want to fight, but instead is being used as a tool by his pathetic father in order to exact some vengeful agenda. The duo feels adamant that Broli should abandon Paragus’ side, but the savage Saiyan declines to disobey his father. Suddenly, the three get a message from Paragus on their scouters: they’re ready to depart for Earth.
  485. •B Part: Freeza’s ship lands on Earth. Chirai and Lemo set about looking for the last Dragon Ball and come across Blooma doing the same. Meanwhile, Freeza introduces Paragus and Broli. Upon sight of Vegeta Broli attacks him in a fit of rage. Vegeta, having acquired Super Saiyan Blue-level power in his normal form, effortlessly dispatches with Broli by kicking him through several snowy mountains. Vegeta shit-talks Paragus who can only grip his fists in anger before going into a flashback sequence. Paragus recalls the day he learned that Broli was being sent to Planet Vampa for having a battle power higher than Vegeta’s reading. Pleading with King Vegeta III is useless and Paragus must watch as his son is sent off to almost certain death.
  486. •Ending:
  487. •Paragus and Beets crash land on Planet Vampa and find Broli amongst a massive graveyard of beasts, eating them dead or alive.
  488.
  489. Episode #51: “The Strongest Saiyan VERSUS the Strongest Combination”
  490. •The episode opens on a shot of the massive, collapsed mountain. Suddenly, lava bursts from below and out comes Broli in his Rage form.
  491. •Opening:
  492. •Gokuu and Vegeta are shocked. “What the hell is that?!” Paragus wears a shit-eating grin, “Broli can harness the power of the Giant Monkey form in his human form!”
  493. •Title Card:
  494. •A Part: Vegeta readies to battle Rage Broli but Gokuu shouts that it’s his turn. Vegeta relents so that he can study Broli’s new form and gain a rudimentary understanding of it first. Gokuu starts slow, allowing Broli to show off his power, but once Broli turns a mountain into a large pile of sand with a single ki blast from his mouth Gokuu decides to raise his normal form’s ki to its uppermost limit and he completely overwhelms Broli. Fearing that his plan will go to ruin, Freeza recalls how killing Kuririn on Planet Namek awoke the Super Saiyan transformation within Son Gokuu. Picking up a shard of mountain debris Freeza throws the shard of mountain through Paragus’ heart with telekinesis.
  495. •B Part: Paragus stumbles forward, unable to speak but still trying to reach for his son. Finally, Broli sees his father collapse and die. Freeza explains that the debris that pierced Paragus came from the damage done to the environment by Son Gokuu’s attacks. [Insert Music: “Swan Lake (Ballet Suite), Op. 20: I. Scene (Swan Theme)” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky] Shocked, Broli transforms into a Super Saiyan. Both Gokuu and Vegeta team up to battle Broli but every one of their combination plays does no harm to Broli. [Insert Music Ends] Unable to enter the Migatte no Goku’i state willingly, Gokuu and Vegeta find themselves in the spiciest of pickles. Amidst their dodging of Broli’s attacks Gokuu screams at Broli, telling him that if he doesn’t calm down his ki will explode and destroy his body. Chirai overhears this and begs Broli to calm down but falls on deaf ears. Chirai wishes she had not destroyed the device that she stole from Paragus to calm Broli but is instantly reminded of how disgusted she was at Paragus when he did it before. Staring at Paragus’ corpse, Chirai grows disgusted and curses him. Broli’s unchecked ki begins causing a distortion that even Freeza realizes will destroy the universe if it gets out of hand. Vegeta tells Kakarrot that they’ll need to use fusion to stop Broli since they can’t achieve Migatte no Goku’i. Gokuu is reluctant but eventually agrees. Unfortunately, Broli’s rampaging makes it difficult for the duo to get the time to perform the dance. Gokuu gets an idea and tells Freeza that if he wants to live he needs to buy him and Vegeta some time. Freeza reluctantly agrees—thinking to himself about how he technically is responsible for this situation—and begins to battle Broli.

  497. •Freeza transforms into Golden Freeza.
  498.

  501. •Opening:
  502. •Freeza drinks wine while peering down on Planet Vegeta from his spaceship.
  503. •Title Card:
  504. •A Part: Paranoid with the Saiyans’ increasing strength and even rumors of a Saiyan child with incredibly high combat potential Freeza destroys Planet Vegeta. Back in the present, Freeza continues to battle Broli. Freeza attempts to use his techniques against Broli but his overwhelming power repels them effortlessly. Even a ‘Renzoku Death Ball’ with one hundred planet-destroying ki blasts slammed into Broli leaves the rampaging Saiyan unperturbed. Brutally beaten within an inch of his life, Freeza is saved…by Gogeta?
  505. •B Part: Gokuu and Vegeta (who has seen Trunks and Goten perform the fusion dance many times before and has memorized it) perform the fusion dance and become ‘Gogeta’. With Freeza nearly dead the fused warrior stops Broli by grabbing his wrist before he can swing at Freeza. Broli drops Freeza and begins his battle with Gogeta. Broli quickly finds himself at a disadvantage but doesn’t give up. Broli’s overwhelming and constantly increasing power transforms him into a green-haired transformation that Gogeta notes is “Just like Kale!” after he takes a nose-breaking swipe to the face that sends him flying back into the lava pooling beneath. Gogeta powers up while beneath the lava and wraps a twister of lava in his ki to direct toward Broli. With a kiai Broli is able to dispel the lava twister and open a tear in time and space that engulfs both he, Gogeta and Freeza. As the environment around them cracks like a mirror their histories play around them. Whis appears and tells Gogeta that if Broli is not stopped soon all of the Seventh Universe will be engulfed by this phenomenon and individual will and consciousness will cease to exist. Gogeta nods and prepares to face Broli one last time. Just then, Gogeta catches sight of a shard that shows Bardock and Gine and is mesmerized.

Bardock and Gine decide to send Kakarrotto on his mission to Earth early for fear of Freeza’s plans. As Kakarrotto’s Attack Ball flies into the blackness of space the camera pulls out and reveals Gogeta’s eyes, saddened.
  513. •Title Card:
  514. •A Part: Gokuu—within the mind of Gogeta—has just watched the day Planet Vegeta was destroyed. Meanwhile, Broli has likewise spent his time watching a crack playing through Paragus’ failed conversation with Paragus about keeping Broli on Planet Vegeta, followed by King Vegeta coveting his own son and ambition for him. Broli loses a single tear at the memories, turns to Gogeta and attacks him in a fury. Gogeta takes a nasty pummeling that he otherwise wouldn’t normally take as he processes the memories he’s witnessed. Memories of Gokuu’s life on Earth play in cracks that catch Gogeta’s eye and he finally gains the wherewithal to hit Broli back. Whis checks a hyper-detailed pocket watch before whispering “Sixty-six seconds left.” Finally, Gogeta uppercuts Broli backward through the dimensional tear and back onto Earth. Gogeta prepares to finish Broli off with a Big Bang Kamehame-Ha before Chirai’s voice interrupts his concentration, “Please return Broli to Planet Vampa!” Shen Long agrees and Broli disappears in a flash. Gogeta’s expression slowly changes from confusion to a smile and finally the fused warrior laughs.
  515. •B Part: Sometime later on Planet Vampa Broli, Chirai and Lemo eat. Chirai and Lemo are disgusted by the spider animal that they finally agreed to eat and Broli laughs at their reactions. Suddenly, Gokuu appears and hands over a capsule case, telling Broli that he’s happy that he found some peace and that someday he’d like to fight him again when he’s strong enough to fight without fusion. As Gokuu turns to teleport back to Earth Broli shouts back, “KAKAROTTO!” Gokuu turns back to a now smiling Broli who continues, “Me, too.” Gokuu grins and teleports home.
  516. •Ending:
  517. •Freeza licks his wounds while Bluberry chastises him. Freeza tells her to not worry, though, for he has found a new option.

Merus with his space suit and the Dai-Kaiou-Shin continue into space while the others hop aboard the Ginga Patrol ship. A heated cat-and-mouse game through an asteroid field takes place. Moro turns back to his pursuers and laughs. With a snap of his fingers a large charge of his magic seems to fly out of his body. On the ship, Jako traces the energy to…
  545. •Title Card:
  546. •A Part: A week ago, when Moro escaped, he left behind a small piece of his magic. This magic has remained dormant until more of his magical energy could interact with it. Now, a large stream of light bursts through the walls of the Ginga Prison and merges with that magical energy. The two energies mix and swirl until it generates and explosion of energy that unlocks all of the prison cells. The Ginga Patrol panics as all criminals escape the prison, some clearly working for Moro. Meanwhile, Jako and the others receive a message indicating that Moro has indeed freed all of the prisoners from the Ginga Prison. Gokuu raises his ki without destroying the ship he’s riding on and teleports onto Moro’s ship. Grabbing him, Gokuu tries to teleport Moro back to New Namek but Moro resists by using a palm thrust on Gokuu’s unguarded chest. As a result of this tumble Moro’s ship crashes into an asteroid. Gokuu consciously puts the practices of Migatte no Goku’i into practice but cannot assume the form while doing his best to hold his breath in space. Finally, Merus and the Dai-Kaiou-Shin catch up and find Gokuu hanging on by a thread. Moro’s body finishes returning to its prime state and blasts the half-suffocating Gokuu back so hard that he nearly crashes through the windshield of Jako’s ship. Vegeta and the others retrieve the partially naked and unconscious Son Gokuu. Meanwhile, Moro and his two foes play hide-and-seek in the asteroid field. Sensing something approaching, Moro uses his magic to turn the asteroids into a rock monster to keep his foes busy while he boards a newly arrived ship. Esca awakens Gokuu by partially healing him, “I can’t restore your lost blood but at least the wound has been healed, Gokuu-san!” Gokuu thanks Esca and prepares to teleport Vegeta and Nail with him onto Moro’s new ship. Vegeta, however, declines, stating that it’ll just be a waste of time as they currently are. Nail grips his fist until his sharp nails cut into his skin and draw blood, “I regretfully concur…” On Saganbo’s ship the bandit leader deploys his forces across the galaxy to find suitable planets ripe for consumption by Moro.
