00:04       i saw low base i'm proud to announce i'm
00:06       finally done making update videos
00:08       uh if you haven't looked at my channel
00:10       recently you wouldn't know that uh
00:12       every video on the channel has been
00:13       deleted
00:15       um because the hollow base project has
00:16       come to a rather abrupt and unfortunate
00:19       end
00:20       uh for those of you that don't know i've
00:22       been struggling with copyrights this
00:23       fast
00:24       this past month and a half because i
00:26       recklessly decided to
00:28       put my music on streaming services and
00:31       monetize my content my hololive fan
00:33       content without coverage permission
00:34       and had been doing so for months um in
00:37       the end the cover finally came for me
00:39       request
00:40       didn't request anything they just took
00:41       down my spotify releases and then left
00:43       it at that
00:44       they didn't give any details as to why
00:46       the music was taken down so i was only
00:48       left to guess
00:50       i i put quite a few videos on my youtube
00:52       channel explaining
00:54       copyrights and spotify over the course
00:56       of my channel
00:57       i even had a video on my channel even
00:59       before the music was on spotify
01:02       explaining the situation and explaining
01:03       that look i don't have the rights to put
01:05       this music on spotify but i'm going to
01:06       do it anyways and just
01:07       hope that i don't get caught basically
01:10       but i did get caught and i acknowledged
01:11       that that was something that could
01:12       happen
01:13       um uh because i was never told why the
01:16       music was taken down i was only left to
01:17       assume and my assumption
01:19       actually was that it was the track art
01:20       that was the problem and not the music
01:22       itself which is why i was so determined
01:24       to get the music restored on spotify
01:26       after changing the track or i really
01:27       wanted to get in contact with cover
01:29       because
01:30       i can't restore my music on spotify
01:31       myself i have to
01:33       rely on cover to restore the music
01:35       because they're the ones that
01:36       took it down in the first place so it
01:38       was essential that i contacted cover
01:41       to have the music restored now of course
01:43       there was a chance that the music was
01:44       taken down because of the music itself
01:46       in which case the music wasn't going to
01:48       be restored but i didn't know that that
01:49       was the case
01:50       in fact i didn't know anything because
01:52       cover didn't tell me anything and
01:53       actually because they left one of my
01:55       songs up that still had hollow live
01:57       samples in it i was under the impression
01:59       that it actually wasn't the music itself
02:00       but the track art
02:02       so i changed the track art and attempted
02:04       to contact cover quite a few times over
02:06       the course of the past
02:06       month and a half and uh they didn't get
02:08       back to me and so that brings us to
02:10       today where
02:11       um amelia watson sang pop on rocks on
02:14       live stream for the fundraising event
02:16       i slept through it i didn't get to see
02:18       it myself but i woke up i checked my
02:19       phone and everyone was like oh pop on
02:21       rocks was on
02:22       emilio finally did it saying pop on
02:23       rocks or whatever very exciting
02:25       um but realistically i was counting on
02:28       being contacted by
02:29       cover or hall alive or emilia or
02:31       whatever to have permission to
02:33       perform pop on rocks on stream and i
02:35       wasn't um
02:36       that was kind of my last hope um hoping
02:38       that i would
02:39       finally get in contact contact with
02:41       cover so i could ask
02:42       why was my music taken down on spotify
02:44       is there anything i can do
02:45       to restore this music is there some way
02:47       that we can find a way to
02:50       allow creators like myself to
02:51       financially profit off of fan works
02:53       maybe not in the way that i was doing it
02:55       but there must be something we can work
02:56       out or even just like
02:57       can i just have the music on spotify and
02:59       you guys take all the money just
03:01       all the money goes to cover i don't want
03:02       any of it fine but if it means that
03:04       people will stop asking me
03:05       to put my music on streaming services
03:07       then at least that can make me happy
03:09       but no i just i wasn't contacted nothing
03:12       was able to be worked out so
03:14       that brings us to today where i was just
03:16       frustrated and i tweeted out something
03:18       i tweeted out something along the lines
03:20       of like you know i'm tired of waiting
03:22       on cover so i'm gonna take the offensive
03:25       uh the tweet was misconstrued
03:27       understandably because i worded it
03:28       horribly i worded it and
03:30       the first assumption everyone came to
03:32       was oh he's going to take down the live
03:34       stream the charity live stream
03:36       so as soon as i made the tweet i've
03:38       tweeted i tweeted a little later
03:39       following up like just a minute later
03:41       following up like i'm not going to take
03:42       down the live stream obviously i have a
03:44       conscience
03:45       but uh anyways i didn't matter um
03:48       i'd already made the mistake and a lot
03:50       of people were under the assumption that
03:51       i was going to do something incredibly
03:53       reckless and
03:54       irresponsible and ironically enough i
03:56       did
03:57       it just wasn't the action that they
03:58       thought i was going to take instead i
04:00       decided to basically swing the pendulum
04:02       in the exact opposite direction
04:04       and just wipe my entire channel so my
04:06       youtube channel is empty
04:08       this was of course a bad decision but
04:10       it's not like i didn't know that when i
04:11       made the decision
04:12       myself to be honest with you i
04:15       uh i i made the decision because i
04:18       recognized that this was the only
04:20       closure i was going to have in this
04:21       situation
04:22       i knew that if cover wasn't going to
04:24       contact me then no matter what i did i
04:26       was still going to be working
04:27       under this arbitrary like i don't
04:30       technically own anything and cover could
04:32       come from me anytime regardless of what
04:34       i'm doing and
04:35       it was just this era of uncertainty
04:36       everything i was putting out as hollow
04:38       base was uncertain
04:40       and i recognize now in retrospect that
04:43       that is the nature of fan
04:44       content um being an independent musician
04:47       or being being a content creator in
04:49       general uh
04:51       means you should you should be
04:53       independent you should you shouldn't be
04:54       relying on other
04:55       on well i mean you obviously have to
04:57       rely on the support of others but
04:59       the problem with fan content is my
05:01       content only exists
05:02       because this other content exists right
05:05       so your entire
05:06       you know fan base your reputation online
05:08       only exists because
05:10       this higher entity above you is allowing
05:12       you to exist
05:14       um or because they existed in the first
05:16       place and that is a
05:17       lack it's dependency and i
05:20       me personally i'm someone that likes to
05:22       be independent i don't like relying on
05:24       other people
05:25       and that's something i didn't realize
05:28       applied to my content until it was taken
05:30       down from spotify and i realized wow it
05:32       sucks but
05:33       the only reason i have all these
05:35       subscribers and all the support
05:36       is because of the um you know
05:39       overwhelming support for the
05:40       entity above me the hololive right so
05:44       in a way i personally feel like it was
05:46       time for me to stop making haul alive
05:48       music anyways regardless of anything
05:50       else
05:50       i personally think i i was ready to move
05:52       on from holla live music anyways and i
05:54       i was contemplating the the spiral tones
05:57       remix that i've been working on
05:58       for the past week i thought that might
06:00       be the last hall of live song i do
06:03       um at this point i'm obviously not even
06:05       going to do the spiral tones remix i
06:07       don't know what's going to happen with
06:08       that i've got lots of hollow live music
06:10       that's half finished now and we'll
06:11       probably never be finished
06:13       but um um but regardless of whether it
06:16       was time for me to move on or not i
06:18       recognized that me
06:19       deleting my catalog was not the way to
06:22       go about this
06:23       but i i don't regret the action i took
06:26       i'm glad
06:28       and this might feel this might seem
06:29       selfish because i acknowledge obviously
06:31       my music meant a lot to a lot of people
06:33       there's a lot of people that are
06:34       probably just
06:35       devastated that pop on rocks is gone the
06:37       funny meme song oh no now what will we
06:39       do
06:39       um so this might sound selfish but i
06:41       just i just don't care i just i did this
06:44       action because it felt good to me
06:46       because i wanted to move on from hollow
06:47       base like so definitively that there was
06:49       no question
06:50       and to me that meant just wiping
06:52       everything and that made like the
06:54       statement that hollow base is done
06:56       there is no chance of going back to this
06:59       project
06:59       i want to move on from holla live fan
07:01       content permanently
07:03       and uh this was the decision that i took
07:06       um again i apologize so to say but for
07:15       my fans like people that were genuinely
07:16       invested in who i was and what i was
07:18       doing
07:19       i feel i do feel very bad about
07:22       i guess betraying your uh your trust and
07:25       investment in me
07:27       i um frankly i feel like no matter what
07:30       i did this was a losing situation i
07:31       don't
07:32       i was put i put myself in a difficult
07:34       situation by
07:36       by taking the actions i took by putting
07:37       my music my music on spotify
07:40       and then you know making these update
07:42       videos and questioning
07:44       the actions of a company because frankly
07:46       companies just make
07:47       weird decisions and that's just the way
07:50       it is
07:50       especially a japanese like they're from
07:53       a different culture than me for goodness
07:54       sakes i don't know why
07:55       a japanese company would do the things
07:57       they do act in the ways that they act
07:59       right there was no point in questioning
08:01       or trying to you know
08:02       just find any sense or semblance in what
08:05       was happening
08:07       so um anyways i'm rambling again
08:10       i i didn't want this video to be too
08:12       long like every other update video of
08:13       mine
08:14       that's the problem is i ramble on the
08:16       video goes on too long and then people
08:17       see how long the video is and they don't
08:18       click on it they don't hear the rambling
08:21       so i'm keeping this one pretty short i
08:23       don't know if i have anything else to
08:25       say
08:25       if i do i guess we can talk about it in

08:30       that i have on my channel and frankly
08:32       the only video
08:33       i'm sorry it came to this i uh i don't
08:36       know what to do next

08:52       and so with that being said maybe it

08:58       involved in whatever comes next anyways

09:02       supporting hall alive because it's going
09:04       to be so difficult for me to continue
09:06       watching as much all alive as i do and
09:08       financially giving in to hall alive as
09:10       well paying for subscriptions and stuff
09:12       and then not being able to do anything
09:14       with that it all alive creatively fuels

09:17       and knowing that i can't do anything
09:19       with that is going to kill me
09:20       so i might i might even just stop

09:24       as a whole just kind of cold turkey cut
