- [12:52 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: looks like an arm. Good work.
- [12:52 PM] Eddbro: is the claw good?
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Does it look like a claw?
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Can it emote?
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: are you intending for it to be Iconographic or a 3D Object?
- [1:10 PM] Eddbro: what
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I am giving you questions to ask yourself because "good" is a stupid word.
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: can they point?
- [1:10 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Can they gesture?
- [1:11 PM] Eddbro: I mean does the claw look anatomically correct man
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: This thing that you've drawn isn't real
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: and therefore no it doesn't.
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: It doesn't look like a real thing because it's an imaginary thing.
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Where are their organs? Do they have a galbladder?
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: What are the claws for?
- [1:11 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Do you think two knuckles is enough?
- [1:11 PM] Eddbro: literally what
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Literally what the fuck are you asking me?
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Look at your fingers on your hand.
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: three knuckles per finger.
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: You know why that is?
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: It's for grasping branches and trees and shit.
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: The claw you drew has 2 knuckles.
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I'm assuming because they don't need to grasp trees and shit.
- [1:12 PM] Eddbro: is this some meta-ironic shitpost that I'm too dense to understand or is this serious criticism
- [1:12 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: They slash and cut, right?
- [1:13 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: There is no such thing as "Anatomically correct" with a fake object you made up.
- [1:13 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: There is no such thing as GOOD either.
- [1:13 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Timmy Turner from Fairly Oddparents does their job with their art style.
- [1:13 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: So does a Live Action person.
- [1:14 PM] Eddbro: I just asked if the claw didn't look fucking retarded, god damn
- [1:14 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Yeah what the fuck does retarded even mean?
- [1:14 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: What the hell are you asking me?
- [1:14 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I don't care what your art looks like. It's your art, not mine.
- [1:14 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Do you want me to say, "That doesn't look like how I draw. It sucks."?
- [1:14 PM] Eddbro: why the fuck are you doing these word games instead of giving it actual criticism?
- [1:15 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: You're not asking for actual criticism.
- [1:15 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: You're asking for validation.
- [1:15 PM] Eddbro: ???
- [1:15 PM] Eddbro: Does everything have to be about fucking validation
- [1:15 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I don't draw claws the way you do. I give them segments and exoskeletons.
- [1:16 PM] Eddbro: That's nice
- [1:16 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: So I don't know what the fuck you're even asking me for about yours.
- [1:16 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: What style are you trying to go for?
- [1:16 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: What are you trying to emulate?
- [1:16 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: There's literally no such thing as "good" and "bad" in art.
- [1:17 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: There's coherent and consistent sure
- [1:17 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: and I think your art is consistent with your art.
- [1:17 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: yesterday you showed me a character with a spherical head and I told you to move their mouth to the left or squish the eye and I told you to move the mouth because it'd be easier to do.
- [1:17 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Because that would make the character seem less asymetrical.
- [1:17 PM] Eddbro: I did, didn't I?
- [1:18 PM] Eddbro: I thought it looked wrong
- [1:18 PM] Eddbro: turns out, your feedback actually fixed it
- [1:18 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Yeah symmetry generally looks good in simplistic geometric shape based characters.
- [1:19 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: This claw question though is a whole other beast. I don't know enough about the character to know if that claw is right.
- [1:19 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: So I'm trying to help you find if that claw's right or not.
- [1:19 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: It looks like it's a slashy weapon kinda hand.
- [1:19 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: But maybe it's supposed to be a gripping and grabbing and typing kinda hand.
- [1:20 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Either get used to it or look for advice elsewhere.
- [1:20 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: So the middle finger is bigger than the index, which is bigger than the ring figner.
- [1:20 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: The thumb has either only one joint, or it has another joint that it hidden under webbing skin soft tissue.
- [1:21 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: The forearm and wrist are meaty and hide the inner workings.
- [1:21 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: From this I can assume that this is a robot-hydrolic style of arm and not an arm with two different bones down the forearm like humans have.
- [1:21 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Or the style doesn't actually adequately represent what it really is Ala Panty Stocking with Garter Belt
- [1:22 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: where there's a "Form" that the characters have that isn't actually represented in the wild art style
- [1:22 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: and only visible during their anime transformation sequences.
- [1:22 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: So either your work isn't anatomically correct (which, by the way, isn't even a bad thing to be non-anatomically correct) or it is anatomically correct but the anatomy isn't human.
- [1:23 PM] Eddbro: was going into this willy-wonka word fuckery really necessary?
- [1:23 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I don't know. Was asking me for advice necessary?
- [1:23 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: Looks like we all learned something today.
- [1:23 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: No neither were necessary.
- [1:23 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: I can just as easilly remove you and not talk to you again.
- [1:23 PM] Remi_Aaron_Autor: This is a pointless exercise.
