  2. <Carthage> Alright, just for posterity how many people would be *interested* in joining my game? There'll be an application but I kinda want a general headcount
  3. 12:49 PM <Faustus> Mishie: If I could pay ATLUS twice for P5 I would gladly do so
  4. 12:49 PM
  5. <Mishie> I can think of more than a few people who would instantly apply before even reading the full campaign doc Carthage
  6. 12:49 PM I can respect that Faust
  7. 12:49 PM
  8. <Carthage> ah
  9. 12:49 PM i see
  10. 12:49 PM — Faustus rings the new campaign bell
  11. 12:50 PM
  12. <Salow> i'm one of them
  13. 12:50 PM
  14. <Mishie> It's just that personally I mainly play/read/watch shit for the plot, so I'm not really a huge fan of replaying.

  794. 8:06 AM Phone is close to death, though
  795. 8:06 AM <soulpelt|> ohno
  796. 8:06 AM
  797. <Mishie> rip
  798. 8:06 AM
  799. <Carthage> gee whiz
  800. 8:06 AM if we can gen right now, maybe Anti should go first
  801. 8:07 AM <soulpelt|> makes sense. You want someone to roll luck for you anti should your phone die?
  802. 8:07 AM
  803. <Thalia> Pick me
  804. 8:07 AM
  805. <Carthage> That's 4 players, me, maybe 2 or 3 others
  806. 8:07 AM should be enough right?
  807. 8:07 AM
  808. <Salow> sure
  809. 8:08 AM
  810. <Carthage> Well, Antioch you wanna go first?
  811. 8:08 AM
  812. <Salow> is he d-dead
  813. 8:08 AM
  814. <Carthage> or his phone his
  815. 8:08 AM is*
  816. 8:08 AM
  817. <Salow> perhaps
  818. 8:09 AM
  819. <•Antioch> Who’s currently available to gen?
  820. 8:09 AM
  821. <Carthage> Antioch, if you want to wait we can do this another time
  822. 8:09 AM we could start with soulpelt
  823. 8:10 AM
  824. <Salow> i can go too
  825. 8:10 AM
  826. <Mishie> Antioch: looks like you've got spelt, Olivebirdy, Salow and Carthage!
  827. 8:10 AM <Spellspin> ...
  828. 8:10 AM Fuck me, I guess
  829. 8:10 AM :P
  830. 8:10 AM <soulpelt|> xD
  831. 8:10 AM
  832. <Carthage> or Spell
  833. 8:10 AM it doesn't matter to me
  834. 8:10 AM roll rock paper scissors for all i care
  835. 8:10 AM Actually, Spellspin might be the better deal
  836. 8:10 AM
  837. <Mishie> Spellspin: didn't you literally just say that you're leaving in like 30 mins?
  838. 8:11 AM
  839. <Carthage> he has to go to work soon
  840. 8:11 AM <Spellspin> Yeah but like I'm /here/
  841. 8:11 AM smh
  842. 8:11 AM
  843. <Carthage> Well Spell, wanna roll?
  844. 8:11 AM <Spellspin> Oh, sure.
  845. 8:11 AM
  846. <Carthage> get ready folks
  847. 8:11 AM
  848. <Olivebirdy> Ready.
  849. 8:11 AM <Spellspin> Trigger me timbers!
  850. 8:11 AM $trigger
  851. 8:11 AM Channel mode set to +m by •[ATM]
  852. 8:11 AM
  853. <•[ATM]> Spellspin [12]: From the earliest age possible, your parents had you put into extensive ice skating training. Your mother made it to the Olympics, and your father was generally considered a world renowned trainer, so understandably the expectations they held you up to were lofty. The training itself was grueling, giving you little time to anything beyond your studies of the sport.
  854. 8:11 AM It continued like this for years, with every attempt to live up to your parent's expectations failing entirely. It's not until you hit the cold, well-worn floor of the ice rink for the umpteenth time that you finally realize it. You'll never be able to live up to what they expect of you. Trigger.

  857. <Thalia> Iron Lotus
  858. 8:12 AM <Spellspin> $dibs Iron Lotus
  859. 8:12 AM
  860. <•[ATM]> Calling dibs. This might take a moment...
  861. 8:12 AM Done!
  862. 8:12 AM
  863. <Carthage> ?
  864. 8:12 AM what just happened?
  865. 8:12 AM <Spellspin> Thal: I see you still look like a 15 year old girl, but not hot
  866. 8:12 AM <soulpelt|> spell rolled trigger and thal dibbed a name
  867. 8:13 AM anyways
  868. 8:13 AM Changer, Thinker, Tinker for spell
  869. 8:13 AM
  870. <Carthage> I was thinking Thinker
  871. 8:13 AM
  872. <Olivebirdy> Stranger tinker thinker.
  873. 8:14 AM Happened over a very long time, she needs to get out from under her parents' gaze.
  874. 8:14 AM <soulpelt|> ehhh stranger
  875. 8:14 AM
  876. <Carthage> Could be a skill thinker, questions of incompetence?
  877. 8:14 AM Stranger doesn't really do it for me, not a big enough part
  878. 8:15 AM <soulpelt|> Skill thinker is too on the nose
  879. 8:15 AM
  880. <Olivebirdy> She doesn't even want to do this. It's gruelling, she has no time for herself, she gets no enjoyment from it.
  881. 8:16 AM
  882. <Carthage> Environmental thinker?
  883. 8:16 AM
  884. <Olivebirdy> The only reason she's doing it is because her parents want her to do it.
  885. 8:16 AM
  886. <Pink> It's a changer
  887. 8:16 AM
  888. <Carthage> Or maybe a combat thinker depending on emotions
  889. 8:16 AM <soulpelt|> It doesn't say they don't enjoy it
  890. 8:16 AM just they realize they can't be what their parents want
  891. 8:16 AM
  892. <Pink> "You'll never be able to live up to what they expect of you. Trigger."
  893. 8:16 AM
  894. <Carthage> Changer with secondary Thinker power?
  895. 8:17 AM <soulpelt|> that seems more likely
  896. 8:17 AM
  897. <Carthage> As for Changer, streamlining of the body for movement would make sense for an ice skater
  898. 8:17 AM
  899. <Pink> Why thinker?
  900. 8:17 AM
  901. <Carthage> Because it's long term
  902. 8:17 AM Day in and day out
  903. 8:17 AM
  904. <Salow> isnt long term tinker?
  905. 8:17 AM
  906. <Thalia> That would make it tinker.
  907. 8:17 AM
  908. <Carthage> all coming to a head
  909. 8:18 AM oh perhaps you're right
  910. 8:18 AM I read that wron
  911. 8:18 AM
  912. <Olivebirdy> Graceful sleek fast changer? It would be good if it could hide well, too.
  913. 8:18 AM
  914. <Salow> but i think talking powers is easier then talking classifications, just having a hard time thinking of something hm
  915. 8:18 AM <soulpelt|> Tinker(Changer/Thinker)?
  916. 8:18 AM
  917. <Carthage> Changers are the hardest to do imo
  918. 8:18 AM
  919. <Thalia> That would be stranger and thinker, imo
  920. 8:18 AM
  921. <Mishie> Changer, turns into a moose with ice-skates
  922. 8:18 AM ez
  923. 8:19 AM
  924. <Carthage> Changer that allows the person to integrate parts of their body into the environment, allowing for better movement?
  925. 8:19 AM
  926. <Olivebirdy> I'm thinking of something Ward-Sveta-like. Distends limbs far away, quick motion to where the limbs went.
  927. 8:20 AM
  928. <Carthage> Maybe allows for limbs to act separately, with the main body being able to magnetize to them?
  929. 8:21 AM
  930. <Olivebirdy> But it doesn't fit the 'not good enough to meet expectations' bit.
  931. 8:21 AM
  932. <Pink> No ward spoilers, please
  933. 8:21 AM
  934. <Olivebirdy> Doable.
  935. 8:21 AM Sure.
  936. 8:22 AM Could do it the other way around. Clumsy changer form.
  937. 8:22 AM
  938. <Carthage> IIRC triggers don't always give you what you need in the moment
  939. 8:22 AM Some do, but don't solve the problem at large
  940. 8:22 AM Like this, he could move faster but it wouldn't really make him a better skater
  941. 8:23 AM <soulpelt|> Drunken Master Changer obv :p
  942. 8:23 AM
  943. <Pink> What does the kid want from the skating? Their parents want them to be a great skater. the kid wants approval more than the skating ability per se
  944. 8:23 AM
  945. <Olivebirdy> Or a switch between elegance to clumsiness. Something which the parahuman needs to keep an eye on. Give it some benefit to clumsiness, and they'll speed around elegantly until they're forced to take a pratfall.
  946. 8:24 AM
  947. <Carthage> Pink, the conclusion there is better skater = approval
  948. 8:24 AM It may be wrong, but that's the thought process
  949. 8:24 AM
  950. <Pink> Well yes. To a human.
  951. 8:25 AM But this is the sort of entity that sees 'a million bugs' as a replacement for 'a best friend'
  952. 8:25 AM
  953. <Olivebirdy> Bit on the nose, but something like, can speed around for some turns, but then falls over with a blast of ice?
  954. 8:25 AM
  955. <Pink> And it really doesn't feel like a mover at all to me
  956. 8:26 AM
  957. <Mishie> tbh
  958. 8:26 AM
  959. <Pink> They don't want to get away at all; if anything, the opposite. They want to belong IN THE EXACT PLACE THAT THEY ARE.
  960. 8:26 AM
  961. <Carthage> Changer comes from the set up, while Mover comes as a secondary aspect to the situation
  962. 8:26 AM
  963. <Salow> maybe some leg changing so she can move faster but not gracefully at all
  964. 8:26 AM
  965. <Pink> This is an anti-mover
  966. 8:26 AM
  967. <Mishie> Based on the trigger and the shit that Pink is saying, I'm kinda feeling something similar to Oliver in Worm
  968. 8:26 AM
  969. <Olivebirdy> Good point pink
  970. 8:26 AM
  971. <Carthage> What then, something that converts limbs to another element?
  972. 8:27 AM Ice is a bit too on the nose, maybe vapor that freeze?
  973. 8:27 AM
  974. <Pink> They are exactly where they want to be, with the people they want watching watching them.
  975. 8:27 AM
  976. <Carthage> But their issues come from not being good enough
  977. 8:27 AM
  978. <Pink> They themselves are the only problem
  979. 8:27 AM
  980. <Mishie> This is someone who has lived their entire life being defined by others
  981. 8:27 AM Who has had a goal set by others
  982. 8:27 AM
  983. <Carthage> So how does that incorporate into a power
  984. 8:27 AM
  985. <Mishie> Who has been given all the tools to succeed
  986. 8:27 AM But they were the weak link
  987. 8:28 AM
  988. <Carthage> So the power is trying to compensate for their lack of skill?
  989. 8:28 AM How does it do that?
  990. 8:28 AM
  991. <Mishie> And that's what made them trigger, that feeling of worthlessness, of not being good enough.
  992. 8:28 AM
  993. <Salow> good enough could be in a literal way, youre good enough to move through this swamp faster, good enough to climb this wall without hands
  994. 8:29 AM
  995. <Mishie> Okay so crazy idea
  996. 8:29 AM
  997. <Carthage> hit me
  998. 8:29 AM
  999. <Mishie> Lets think of ideas that have nothing to do with movement.
1000. 8:29 AM And that instead focus on the person
  1001. 8:29 AM
  1002. <Pink> Thank you, Mishie
  1003. 8:29 AM
1004. <Mishie> This isn't an external problem that they want to run away from
1005. 8:29 AM THEY are the problem
  1006. 8:29 AM
1007. <Carthage> do you have any example Mishie
  1008. 8:30 AM I would love some
  1009. 8:30 AM
1010. <Mishie> And hell, just to point out that the simple act of triggering has actually made shit 100% worse for them
  1011. 8:30 AM Since y'know
1012. 8:30 AM They're now automatically banned from all comps
1013. 8:30 AM <soulpelt|> mish actual ideas would be nice m'kay?
  1014. 8:30 AM
1015. <Carthage> We have the stage, we need powers
  1016. 8:30 AM
  1017. <Mishie> soulpelt|: then scroll up :)
  1018. 8:30 AM anyway
  1019. 8:31 AM
1020. <Carthage> Mishie, you've given no ideas yet
  1021. 8:31 AM
1022. <Olivebirdy> Steroid Tinker, body replacement.
1023. 8:31 AM <soulpelt|> 'similiar to oliver' doesn't really say much
  1024. 8:31 AM
  1025. <Carthage> Ooh
  1026. 8:31 AM
1027. <Salow> you said something about oliver? who is he?
  1028. 8:31 AM
  1029. <Carthage> Changer/Tinker
1030. 8:31 AM Oliver can shift his appearance
  1031. 8:31 AM
1032. <Mishie> I literally talked about how they could be a Changer that has a twist towards altering themselves to suit peoples expectations/desires.
1033. 8:31 AM <soulpelt|> the member of the Travelers who was just kinda... there
  1034. 8:32 AM
1035. <Olivebirdy> Traveler. He got Balance formula.
  1036. 8:32 AM
1037. <Mishie> Although that's honestly way too on the nose
  1038. 8:32 AM
  1039. <Salow> ok got you
1040. 8:32 AM yeh, it feels kinda armorface, but we can work around it, that's one option
1041. 8:32 AM <Spellspin> Oliver's one of the Travellers non-combat members. A Changer/Thinke rwho picked up new skills at a superhuman rate and whose appearance changed based on his perceptions of attractiveness.
  1042. 8:32 AM
1043. <Mishie> I'm also against Tinker as well tbh
  1044. 8:32 AM Since y'know
  1045. 8:32 AM
1046. <Carthage> So Olivebirdy, we have a Tinker/Changer (technically brute as well?) who creates superpowered steroids and replacements to improve performance
1047. 8:33 AM Long term trigger, with Changer aspect
  1048. 8:33 AM
1049. <Mishie> the fact that the trigger mentions that there was a period of time doesn't automatically make it a tinker
  1050. 8:33 AM uh
  1051. 8:33 AM
  1052. <Carthage> It said year
  1053. 8:33 AM years*
1054. 8:33 AM went on for years
  1055. 8:33 AM
  1056. <Olivebirdy> it's a possibility.
  1057. 8:33 AM
1058. <Mishie> But it was a realization that resulted in an immediate trigger
  1059. 8:33 AM
  1060. <Carthage> it was a buildup
  1061. 8:33 AM
1062. <Mishie> the fact that a trigger has a backstory doesn't make it a tinker
  1063. 8:33 AM
  1064. <Carthage> to the trigger
  1065. 8:33 AM
1066. <Mishie> Or else almost every single trigger would be tinker
  1067. 8:33 AM
1068. <Salow> let's focus on the power, that's just supposed to help, but it feels like its getting in the way now haha
  1069. 8:34 AM
1070. <Olivebirdy> Man, it took them years to figure that out.
  1071. 8:34 AM
1072. <Carthage> we can't make powers because we're not even sure of the classification beyond a vague changer
  1073. 8:34 AM i really hate changers
1074. 8:34 AM Changer seems to overlap with another classification out of necessity
  1075. 8:34 AM
1076. <Olivebirdy> Changer that grows and grows, 'reaching for the sky'.
  1077. 8:35 AM
  1078. <Mishie> Hmm
1079. 8:35 AM I actually kinda like the idea of a paragon changer
  1080. 8:35 AM <soulpelt|> Paragon Changer?
  1081. 8:35 AM
  1082. <Carthage> ?
  1083. 8:35 AM
  1084. <Salow> literal grow?
  1085. 8:35 AM
  1086. <Olivebirdy> Yup.
  1087. 8:35 AM
  1088. <Carthage> yeah, like a giant i think
  1089. 8:35 AM
  1090. <Olivebirdy> Something like a tower.
  1091. 8:35 AM
  1092. <Mishie> someone that's like a step above
  1093. 8:36 AM
1094. <Carthage> What does that mean
1095. 8:36 AM <soulpelt|> yes, how does that translate to changer? Subconscious changing to be the physical best in an area?
  1096. 8:36 AM
1097. <Salow> but it would just get bigger or, like, enhanced stuff?
  1098. 8:36 AM
1099. <Carthage> Like someone who's good at everything except what they put their mind to?
  1100. 8:36 AM
1101. <Olivebirdy> Salow: It needs more stuff
  1102. 8:37 AM
1103. <Carthage> Changer/Thinker, changes body type/skills based on the needs of others but not themselves?
  1104. 8:37 AM
  1105. <Olivebirdy> I like that.
  1106. 8:37 AM
1107. <Carthage> So if his teammate needed a hacker, he could hack. But he wanted to play the piano on his own, he couldn't know how to
  1108. 8:37 AM
1109. <Mishie> Something like that is what I had in mind, I'm just thinking about how to word it right.
  1110. 8:37 AM ehhh
  1111. 8:38 AM
  1112. <Salow> that seems nice
  1113. 8:38 AM
1114. <Carthage> That idea of not being good enough bleeds into the trigger
  1115. 8:38 AM
1116. <Mishie> What I had in mind was that this person didn't want to just be alright at something. They felt like they needed to be the best for someone else.
  1117. 8:38 AM
1118. <Salow> would they have to focus on a person to use it? or would it be something passive
  1119. 8:39 AM
1120. <Mishie> And I'm trying to think of a way that'd actually make it fun for the player
  1121. 8:39 AM hmm
1122. 8:39 AM could be fun to have a paper tiger style twist on it
1123. 8:39 AM <soulpelt|> Designates someone their ward, gains physical and mental increases the more they're in danger and can apply it to themselves for diminshing returns
  1124. 8:39 AM
1125. <Olivebirdy> I think they'd need to convince themselves that it's for someone else.
  1126. 8:39 AM
1127. <Mishie> That feels kinda on the nose
  1128. 8:39 AM
  1129. <Pink> Sound do a skill thief.
1130. 8:39 AM make it more aggressive
  1131. 8:40 AM
  1132. <Salow> ooh, skill thief
  1133. 8:40 AM <soulpelt|> that's a headache for a GM
  1134. 8:40 AM
  1135. <Pink> *could do
1136. 8:40 AM you're a headache for a gm and he let you in. :D
  1137. 8:40 AM
1138. <Mishie> I kind of like them turning into something that's visually impressive, but has a wretched truth to it.
  1139. 8:40 AM
  1140. <Carthage> only because i didn't know better
  1141. 8:40 AM
1142. <Salow> choose something to improve for yourself and something to get worse for someone else?
  1143. 8:40 AM <soulpelt|> and you're a headache OF a GM
  1144. 8:40 AM anyways
  1145. 8:40 AM
1146. <Olivebirdy> On the nose is okay, problem is when it's too limited. Armor face, not armor at all.
  1147. 8:41 AM
  1148. <Carthage> I still back the Changer/Thinker horse tbh
  1149. 8:41 AM
  1150. <Mishie> soulpelt|: I for one have never had a problem with Pink as a GM :)
  1151. 8:41 AM
1152. <Pink> I am reminded of the old joke about the genie and the mother-in-law
  1153. 8:41 AM
1154. <Mishie> And there's no need to be rude
  1155. 8:41 AM
  1156. <Olivebirdy> What's that joke?
1157. 8:41 AM <soulpelt|> If we're to continue this let's do it in moderation, kay?
  1158. 8:41 AM
  1159. <Carthage> stay focused yall
  1160. 8:42 AM
1161. <Pink> Where the genie offers a guy three wishes, but anything he gets his mother in law gets twice as much of
  1162. 8:42 AM
  1163. <Carthage> So what's on the board?
  1164. 8:42 AM
1165. <Olivebirdy> Skill thief is more aggressive than this person is.
  1166. 8:42 AM Lol
  1167. 8:42 AM
1168. <Pink> So he wishes for wealth, happiness, and to be half dead.
  1169. 8:42 AM
1170. <Carthage> Changer Giant, Changer/Thinker, and what else
  1171. 8:42 AM
  1172. <Olivebirdy> Ha
  1173. 8:42 AM Clumsy.
  1174. 8:43 AM
  1175. <Carthage> Clumsy Changer?
  1176. 8:43 AM So that's three
  1177. 8:43 AM <soulpelt|> Changer Giant, Guardian Changer/Thinker, Skill Thief, Clumsy/Elegant Changer
  1178. 8:43 AM
1179. <Pink> I'm thinking something like that could work as a theme for give and take
  1180. 8:43 AM
  1181. <Carthage> Should we take a vote?
  1182. 8:43 AM
1183. <Mishie> No need to rush shit
  1184. 8:44 AM
1185. <Carthage> We've spent 45 minutes on this single power
1186. 8:44 AM we need to do at least two more
1187. 8:44 AM <soulpelt|> well he wants to run on saturday and powergen gets easily distracted
  1188. 8:44 AM
1189. <Salow> pink: like get faster, but weaker?
  1190. 8:44 AM
1191. <Mishie> tbh I kinda like the idea of a split body Changer
  1192. 8:44 AM
1193. <Salow> or wiser but moves slower?
  1194. 8:45 AM
1195. <Carthage> how does that even relate to the trigger?
  1196. 8:45 AM
1197. <Mishie> but that might be getting too mastery
  1198. 8:45 AM
1199. <Pink> More that he and his target both gain something, but that something is a double edged sword that he knows how to handle and they don't
1200. 8:45 AM And some master isn't entirely unwarranted.
  1201. 8:45 AM
1202. <Teller> Carthage, 45 minutes isn't very long for a powergen. They can sometimes take hours. It's unfortunate, but the way of things.
  1203. 8:45 AM
  1204. <Olivebirdy> Oh hi teller
  1205. 8:46 AM
1206. <Pink> Her parents trying to force this on them could be a betrayal of the social contract.
  1207. 8:46 AM
  1208. <Teller> Hey Olive. o/
  1209. 8:46 AM
  1210. <Olivebirdy> o/
  1211. 8:46 AM
1212. <Salow> i dont get it... can you try a example of that?
  1213. 8:46 AM
1214. <Pink> And I disagree that it is unfortunate; powergens are the most interesting part of the game, that allow the most group interaction. Why rush them?
  1215. 8:46 AM
1216. <Carthage> So we have elements of Changer, Some Stranger, Some Master, maybe some Thinker, and perhaps some Tinker
  1217. 8:46 AM
1218. <Olivebirdy> I think that if we're blaming the parents it's more of a Stranger than Master.
  1219. 8:46 AM
1220. <Teller> Pink, I'm saying that it's unfortunate that 45 minutes would be rushing them.
1221. 8:47 AM When he would like them to go faster.
  1222. 8:47 AM
1223. <Pink> Salow- for instance, what happens to someone with super strength but no manton protections from it?
  1224. 8:47 AM
  1225. <Carthage> That's leaning into Trump territory
  1226. 8:47 AM
  1227. <Salow> hm kay
  1228. 8:48 AM
1229. <Pink> More master than trump
  1230. 8:48 AM
1231. <Carthage> messing with the manton limits on powers is Trump
  1232. 8:48 AM master too
  1233. 8:48 AM but trump
  1234. 8:48 AM mainly
  1235. 8:48 AM
1236. <Mishie> they're not fucking with other peoples powers
  1237. 8:49 AM
1238. <Carthage> They're messing with the secondary protections of people's powers
  1239. 8:49 AM
1240. <Mishie> But making both themselves and someone else stronger, but only they have the secondary powers to control it
  1241. 8:49 AM
1242. <Carthage> I think that counts under a Three Trump?
  1243. 8:50 AM
  1244. — Mishie shrugs
  1245. 8:50 AM
  1246. <Carthage> Stealing/Borrowing aspects of powers?
  1247. 8:50 AM
  1248. <Mishie> I wouldn't know
  1249. 8:50 AM
  1250. <Carthage> Anyways
  1251. 8:50 AM it doesn't matter
  1252. 8:50 AM
  1253. <Mishie> what no
  1254. 8:50 AM
1255. <Carthage> how does that translate to Changer?
1256. 8:50 AM Or are we leaning for master?
  1257. 8:51 AM
1258. <Mishie> I think what Pink was getting at is that the cape would be able to adjust themselves in various ways, and that it would also effect another person.
  1259. 8:51 AM Teller → Telloff
  1260. 8:51 AM
1261. <Mishie> no powers being stolen borrowed
  1262. 8:51 AM just a mirroring
1263. 8:51 AM <FaustAndAbout> It reflects the expectations being shoved onto them
  1264. 8:51 AM
1265. <Carthage> So what would mirroring the secondary protections of brutes do, without the brute power?
1266. 8:51 AM <FaustAndAbout> They can shove their ability onto others, but they will never be able to do it, only hurting themselves.
1267. 8:52 AM *the cape can
  1268. 8:52 AM
1269. <Carthage> So our triggeree could mirror the powers of one cape to another?
1270. 8:52 AM but only the secondary aspects of it
  1271. 8:52 AM <FaustAndAbout> I didn't think that was the idea
  1272. 8:52 AM
1273. <Carthage> what -is- the idea?
  1274. 8:52 AM I feel like I'm missing a piece of it
1275. 8:52 AM <FaustAndAbout> I thought it was the Brute Power, sans the secondary protections
  1276. 8:52 AM
  1277. <Mishie> Nah
  1278. 8:53 AM
1279. <Carthage> Wouldn't that just kill the user?
  1280. 8:53 AM
1281. <Mishie> honestly lets just drop it since Carthage is having problems with it
  1282. 8:53 AM
1283. <Salow> i think the brute power was just an example
  1284. 8:53 AM
1285. <Carthage> If it's gonna be in my game, I want to know how it works
  1286. 8:53 AM
1287. <Pink> Carthage, I was using it as an example. Not suggesting that it fuck with existing powers.
  1288. 8:53 AM
1289. <Carthage> How does it apply to other powers then?
  1290. 8:53 AM
1291. <Mishie> What do you think spelt? You said that you were interested in genning but so far all you've done is snipe at people?
1292. 8:53 AM Did something happen?
  1293. 8:54 AM
1294. <Carthage> Where did everyone go?
1295. 8:54 AM Feels like we lost a few
  1296. 8:54 AM
  1297. <Olivebirdy> I'm thinking.
1298. 8:54 AM <FaustAndAbout> Anyways, my idea is to give them an ability that lets them Change themselves and others, but whereas they get the boons, the other person only gets the worst version of the ability that only hurts them.
  1299. 8:54 AM
1300. <Carthage> So, Pink, can you give me a detailed description of your power
  1301. 8:54 AM
1302. <Pink> Faust pretty much has it.
  1303. 8:54 AM
  1304. <Mishie> hmm
  1305. 8:54 AM <FaustAndAbout> I think he was just proposing a concept
  1306. 8:54 AM
1307. <Mishie> that could be fun
  1308. 8:54 AM <FaustAndAbout> Which is a concept I actually fucking adore
1309. 8:55 AM Like hats off on subtle theming
  1310. 8:55 AM <soulpelt|> hmmm
  1311. 8:55 AM
  1312. <Salow> that's nice
  1313. 8:55 AM
1314. <Carthage> So, our triggeree could change his appearance positively by taking it away from others?
1315. 8:55 AM <soulpelt|> does sound like fun
  1316. 8:55 AM <FaustAndAbout> No.
  1317. 8:55 AM
  1318. <Mishie> It's not about taking
  1319. 8:55 AM Okay so
1320. 8:55 AM Let me put it in numbers
1321. 8:55 AM both the cape and the target start at 3. The cape goes up to 5 and the targets goes down to 1.
  1322. 8:56 AM
1323. <Carthage> How is that not about taking
  1324. 8:56 AM
1325. <Mishie> Nothing is being stolen or transferred
1326. 8:56 AM <FaustAndAbout> They have a form that is positive, they can cause other people to go into a form that is like theirs but with none of the reinforcements that make it safe to use.
  1327. 8:56 AM
1328. <Salow> but isnt that taken...
  1329. 8:56 AM
1330. <Mishie> It's just that one moves up, the other moves down.
  1331. 8:56 AM <FaustAndAbout> It's two separate equations
  1332. 8:56 AM
1333. <Pink> On the SURFACE, both get basically the same thing.
  1334. 8:56 AM
  1335. <Mishie> oh that's fun
  1336. 8:56 AM <FaustAndAbout> X+Changer+Manton=Good, X+Changer=Bad
  1337. 8:57 AM
1338. <Salow> so let's talk about the change itself
  1339. 8:57 AM
1340. <Mishie> Or at least awkward.
  1341. 8:57 AM
1342. <Carthage> So can the person choose who gets it?
  1343. 8:57 AM <FaustAndAbout> Yes.
  1344. 8:57 AM
1345. <Pink> But one gets Caroline v1(arms-explode-killing-yourself) and the other gets v2 (hands mangle stuff, killing them)
  1346. 8:57 AM
  1347. <Mishie> I'd say so
  1348. 8:57 AM oof
  1349. 8:57 AM
  1350. <Pink> Not so extreme
1351. 8:57 AM <FaustAndAbout> Emphasizing the ice skating, I say we go for bitingly cold blasts of cutting dust.
1352. 8:58 AM Blasts isn't the right word
  1353. 8:58 AM
1354. <Olivebirdy> Something personal, or more like 'everyone in the area gets turned into ostriches'?
  1355. 8:58 AM
1356. <Pink> But that kind of thing. Like, to an outside observer, you'd think they both hulked out or whatever.
  1357. 8:58 AM <FaustAndAbout> Blades.
  1358. 8:58 AM
1359. <Carthage> So, Our Changer gets a certain skill or ability like their opponent, but their opponent doesn't have the protections of it?
  1360. 8:58 AM
1361. <Pink> Have you ever seen Heavy Metal, Olive?
  1362. 8:58 AM
  1363. <Olivebirdy> Nope.
  1364. 8:58 AM
1365. <Pink> Something like Hanover Fiste from that
  1366. 8:59 AM
1367. <Carthage> Basically, is our triggeree mirroring powers but taking away the secondary protections of another
  1368. 8:59 AM <FaustAndAbout> NO
  1369. 8:59 AM
  1370. <Mishie> ahhhhhh
  1371. 8:59 AM
  1372. <Pink> Okay, let's make a scenario
1373. 8:59 AM and walk through it.
  1374. 8:59 AM
  1375. <Carthage> perfect
1376. 8:59 AM <FaustAndAbout> Let me type up a power.
  1377. 8:59 AM
1378. <Olivebirdy> It's like everyone gets turned into an ostrich, but the pc is the only one who's good at being an ostrich.
  1379. 8:59 AM
1380. <Pink> There's an orc guarding a pie in a square room. Spellspin wants the pie and he has this superpower.
  1381. 8:59 AM Right, Olive
  1382. 9:00 AM
  1383. <Carthage> ok
1384. 9:00 AM <Spellspin> wait no keep going
1385. 9:00 AM how do I get the pie
  1386. 9:00 AM
1387. <Carthage> but where does ability or skill come from?
  1388. 9:00 AM
1389. <Mishie> Yeah, lets focus on the pie.
  1390. 9:00 AM
1391. <Carthage> Straight from the Changer?
  1392. 9:00 AM
  1393. <Pink> So he engages.
  1394. 9:00 AM
1395. <Salow> you take it with your ostrich... fingers?
1396. 9:00 AM sorry, go on
  1397. 9:01 AM
1398. <Pink> I'm thinking probably he'd choose a stat to engage with, and the cape would get a buff to that stat while the other character would get some quirk/penalty that isn't an obvious one
1399. 9:02 AM Like they both bulk up, but while that makes spell stronger it makes the other one clumsier
  1400. 9:02 AM
  1401. <Carthage> ah i see
1402. 9:02 AM But there is a small hitch in the logic
  1403. 9:02 AM That's not a changer, or not entirely. I think that's a Changer/Trump
  1404. 9:02 AM
1405. <Pink> Probably some big ones too
  1406. 9:03 AM
1407. <Carthage> Unless that "bulk up" isn't to a brute extent
1408. 9:03 AM but more like a bodybuilder extent
  1409. 9:03 AM
1410. <Pink> More like 'their muscles swell up, impeding their movements'
  1411. 9:03 AM
  1412. <Olivebirdy> Bodybuilders have 5 pips in strength, that's a superpower
1413. 9:04 AM Not very super admitted
  1414. 9:04 AM
1415. <Pink> ...and you know that bodybuilders do NOT build for strength, they build for muscle definition
  1416. 9:04 AM
  1417. <Olivebirdy> :o
  1418. 9:04 AM
1419. <Mishie> So what pink is saying is that they have Social 5 obviously
  1420. 9:04 AM
1421. <Pink> Actual olympic weightlifters don't look like bodybuilders.
1422. 9:04 AM But yeah, doesn't have to be brawn.
  1423. 9:04 AM
  1424. <Mishie> hmm
  1425. 9:04 AM
1426. <Olivebirdy> That's interesting. Kind of like designing yourself.
  1427. 9:05 AM
1428. <Pink> Could be wits, and they get the improved senses while the other person gets the sensory overload
  1429. 9:05 AM
1430. <Mishie> Should the form always be the same? Or could it have some variance depending on the situation?
  1431. 9:05 AM <FaustAndAbout> https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/xGAHyvU1/

  1434. <•_> [ Snippet | IRCCloud ] - www.irccloud.com
  1435. 9:05 AM
1436. <Salow> i think it could change with the stat
  1437. 9:05 AM <FaustAndAbout> There's my two cents.
  1438. 9:05 AM
1439. <Pink> I think it should vary, but not in a random way.
1440. 9:05 AM Should be based on their choices
  1441. 9:05 AM
  1442. <Mishie> yeah
1443. 9:06 AM <FaustAndAbout> I don't think choosing the form reflects the trigger though
1444. 9:06 AM they had no choice at all
  1445. 9:06 AM
  1446. <Mishie> true
  1447. 9:06 AM
1448. <Carthage> I see, so better mental processing but at the loss of being able to sift through it
  1449. 9:06 AM
  1450. <Olivebirdy> Yeah.
1451. 9:06 AM Does that sound fun?
  1452. 9:06 AM
1453. <Mishie> Did you read what Faust just wrote Carthage?
  1454. 9:07 AM
1455. <Pink> Faust's is an interesting angle too
  1456. 9:07 AM
  1457. <Carthage> yes i did Mishie
  1458. 9:07 AM
1459. <Pink> And faust, not so much 'choose the form' but 'choose what to focus on' because it isn't like
  1460. 9:07 AM 'a werewolf or a tree man or a bird'
1461. 9:07 AM It is 'focus on brains, on brawn, on speed...'
1462. 9:08 AM <FaustAndAbout> I dunno, it doesn't stick with me as much
  1463. 9:08 AM
1464. <Carthage> How would that work with book keeping in game? Like, the player get's a boost to on stat and so does their opponent, but their opponent gets a -1 in another category?
1465. 9:08 AM <FaustAndAbout> I think this trigger enforces a pretty narrow number of skills so we might as well make them good
1466. 9:08 AM Carthage: The opponent gets no positives.
  1467. 9:08 AM Whatsoever
  1468. 9:08 AM
  1469. <Carthage> So it's just a buff/debuff power
  1470. 9:08 AM in game
1471. 9:08 AM <FaustAndAbout> They can use the blades but they can fuck up
1472. 9:09 AM Sort of? It also provides them a weapon but it has failure penalties
  1473. 9:09 AM
1474. <Pink> Yeah, they get the appearance of positives perhaps but not in any practical sense
1475. 9:09 AM <FaustAndAbout> Imagine being given rollerskates but not knowing how to use them
1476. 9:10 AM It's possible someone could get used to this power, but they'll never beat a natural.
  1477. 9:10 AM
1478. <Salow> lets say spell would focus on speed and his feet would get bigger (eh), his and the targets feet would grow, but the target would have to roll for not falling. something like that?
  1479. 9:11 AM
1480. <Carthage> So we have a buff/debuff power that gives similar conditions, but the player gets an advantage while the target gets a penalty
  1481. 9:11 AM <FaustAndAbout> Yeah, kind of
1482. 9:11 AM It also provides a neat kit to the cape
  1483. 9:11 AM
1484. <Olivebirdy> I figured out how to do the clumsy changer. They run around quickly but with a high chance of tripping, but when they trip, everyone else falls over too. I think we're going with the buff/debuffer, though.
1485. 9:11 AM <FaustAndAbout> The blade pulls are neat considering it gives bits of Mover
  1486. 9:12 AM Telloff → Teller
1487. 9:12 AM <FaustAndAbout> The problem with the "choose a stat" thing is that practically, the cape is going to do what's best for their skills and situation. It eschews all personality in favor of never being bad at anything.
  1488. 9:13 AM
1489. <Carthage> yes, that might be a bit OP in game
1490. 9:13 AM so how do we balance it
  1491. 9:13 AM <FaustAndAbout> Don't do it.
  1492. 9:13 AM
  1493. <Carthage> ?
1494. 9:13 AM <FaustAndAbout> Focus one stat in the form that reflects the trigger.
  1495. 9:13 AM That's why I did that
  1496. 9:14 AM
1497. <Carthage> So which stat most accurately reflects the trigger then?
  1498. 9:14 AM <FaustAndAbout> https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/xGAHyvU1/

  1502. 9:14 AM <FaustAndAbout> I did one
1503. 9:14 AM Athletics is what I feel reflects it in skills.
  1504. 9:14 AM
  1505. <Carthage> you're right
1506. 9:14 AM what does the room think
1507. 9:15 AM <FaustAndAbout> Because it provides Acrobatics, Evade, and other benefits that are more focused on what the trigger pushed
  1508. 9:15 AM
  1509. <Salow> i agree
  1510. 9:15 AM
1511. <Carthage> Pink came up with the power, maybe he'd like to input how the Changer aspect forms
1512. 9:16 AM <FaustAndAbout> Pink came up with a concept
1513. 9:16 AM That power is mine
  1514. 9:16 AM
1515. <Salow> why the tree-like material tho? not complaining, just asking
1516. 9:16 AM <FaustAndAbout> Willowy, also ice skates in olden days had wooden bases
1517. 9:16 AM I went with winter flavor
  1518. 9:16 AM
1519. <Pink> Because an icemonster would be silly :D
  1520. 9:16 AM
  1521. <Mishie> Plus it's a fun aesthetic
  1522. 9:17 AM <FaustAndAbout> ^
  1523. 9:17 AM Imagine a birch man
  1524. 9:17 AM
  1525. <Salow> kay
  1526. 9:17 AM
  1527. <Mishie> what a birch
  1528. 9:17 AM
1529. <Carthage> so are we in agreement with Faust's and Pink's power?
1530. 9:18 AM <FaustAndAbout> Carthage no offense but you're bad at listening :P
  1531. 9:18 AM
  1532. <Carthage> yes i am
1533. 9:18 AM but then again, what's your point
  1534. 9:18 AM <FaustAndAbout> That you're bad at listening?
  1535. 9:19 AM
1536. <Carthage> Is this (the Changer) power what we think should be rolled for Spellspin's character?
1537. 9:19 AM <FaustAndAbout> I figured if you knew you could improve
1538. 9:19 AM I mean, I give it a vote of confidence but I'm me
  1539. 9:19 AM
  1540. <Salow> i'm ok with it
  1541. 9:20 AM
  1542. <Carthage> anyone elsE?
  1543. 9:20 AM
1544. <Mishie> I think there was still some discussion about the specifics, but Faust did raise a good point about the issues both mechanically and thematically
  1545. 9:20 AM
1546. <Salow> maybe specify what unable to move well would be in the mechanics
  1547. 9:20 AM
1548. <Pink> You're the GM. You need to run it so you have the ABSOLUTE final say.
  1549. 9:20 AM
  1550. — Mishie squints
1551. 9:20 AM <FaustAndAbout> Salow: They don't get the evade buffs
1552. 9:20 AM It was an explanation why
  1553. 9:20 AM
1554. <Carthage> Just for posterity, Faust are you allowing us to use the power in that Snippet?
1555. 9:21 AM Or would you like for us to create our own
  1556. 9:21 AM <FaustAndAbout> Uh. Yeah?
  1557. 9:21 AM
  1558. <Carthage> Ok
1559. 9:21 AM <FaustAndAbout> I proposed it for the gen.
  1560. 9:21 AM
1561. <Mishie> No he just posted it for shits and giggles
1562. 9:21 AM and to show off
  1563. 9:21 AM what a bully
  1564. 9:21 AM <FaustAndAbout> $dibs Bottom Birch
  1565. 9:21 AM
1566. <•[ATM]> Calling dibs. This might take a moment...
  1567. 9:21 AM Done!
1568. 9:21 AM <FaustAndAbout> I took the best name for it tho
  1569. 9:22 AM <soulpelt|> rude
  1570. 9:22 AM
  1571. <Mishie> hell yeah
  1572. 9:22 AM
1573. <Carthage> So the lack of movement means they don't get evade buffs, the cuts deal moderate cutting damage, perks are mitigated, powers remain unchanged
  1574. 9:22 AM
  1575. <Mishie> Okay so
  1576. 9:22 AM Carthage
  1577. 9:22 AM <FaustAndAbout> Pretty much.
  1578. 9:22 AM
  1579. <Carthage> anyhting I'm missing there?
  1580. 9:22 AM
1581. <Mishie> When someone gets hit with the power and transformed
  1582. 9:22 AM <soulpelt|> Faust's power seems good
1583. 9:22 AM <FaustAndAbout> Perks don't exist for people who are polymorphed
1584. 9:22 AM They get nothing
  1585. 9:22 AM
1586. <Carthage> Does the polymorph take more than one round?
1587. 9:22 AM <FaustAndAbout> Stand Tall is gone, Attractive? You're a tree now
  1588. 9:22 AM
1589. <Mishie> They're probably going to slightly panic over the fact that they're suddenly a tree
1590. 9:23 AM <FaustAndAbout> Carthage: They can choose any one person they hit during a round to become a tree
  1591. 9:23 AM
1592. <Mishie> And they're probably going to find it difficult to suddenly utilize the benefits of their new form
  1593. 9:23 AM
1594. <Carthage> And that lasts for two more rounds, correct?
  1595. 9:23 AM
1596. <Mishie> But that isn't to say that they're totally helpless
  1597. 9:23 AM <FaustAndAbout> Two rounds.
  1598. 9:23 AM
1599. <Carthage> My questions was, is it instant in that round?
  1600. 9:23 AM <FaustAndAbout> Yes.
  1601. 9:23 AM
  1602. <Carthage> ok
1603. 9:23 AM good to know
  1604. 9:23 AM
1605. <Mishie> Faust, would the victim get the mod cut dust?
1606. 9:23 AM <FaustAndAbout> It takes no actions to polymorph
  1607. 9:23 AM
1608. <Mishie> Or just the cape?
1609. 9:24 AM <soulpelt|> turn the annoying brute into a clumsy ass tree
1610. 9:24 AM <FaustAndAbout> Mishie: Yeah, they get all benefits of the blades
  1611. 9:24 AM
  1612. <Carthage> A good power
1613. 9:24 AM <FaustAndAbout> But if they fail
  1614. 9:24 AM
  1615. <Mishie> they're still a brute soulpelt|
1616. 9:24 AM <soulpelt|> the Stranger is now a shrubbery
  1617. 9:24 AM <FaustAndAbout> They take a stagger
  1618. 9:24 AM
  1619. <Mishie> yeah
  1620. 9:24 AM
  1621. <Carthage> a clumsy ass brute tree
  1622. 9:24 AM
1623. <Mishie> So it'd actually be semi-viable to use on allies
  1624. 9:24 AM <FaustAndAbout> Now I'm gonna go watch a movie
  1625. 9:24 AM
  1626. <Carthage> sounds like a children's story
  1627. 9:24 AM <FaustAndAbout> Mishie: yep
  1628. 9:24 AM
1629. <Mishie> Especially since they could potentially practice with it to mitigate the downsides
  1630. 9:25 AM
1631. <Carthage> Well Masaltov, let's break out the champagne because that one is done and done
  1632. 9:25 AM <FaustAndAbout> Potentially
1633. 9:25 AM We wanna do Luck?
  1634. 9:25 AM
  1635. <Mishie> yee
1636. 9:25 AM Spell do luck you binch
  1637. 9:25 AM
  1638. <Carthage> might as well
  1639. 9:25 AM <FaustAndAbout> *birch
  1640. 9:25 AM
  1641. <Mishie> shit u rite
  1642. 9:25 AM
1643. <Carthage> So that one was for Spellspin right?
  1644. 9:25 AM
  1645. <Mishie> Yes
  1646. 9:25 AM
  1647. <Carthage> So who's next?
  1648. 9:25 AM
1649. <Mishie> So Spellspin should probably type $luck
1650. 9:25 AM <soulpelt|> he might be at works
  1651. 9:25 AM
  1652. <Carthage> he is
  1653. 9:25 AM
  1654. <Mishie> I'd say Salow for sure
  1655. 9:26 AM
1656. <Salow> can i roll for the next one?
  1657. 9:26 AM
1658. <Carthage> Salow, you up for it?
  1659. 9:26 AM
1660. <Mishie> Of the 3 he's the only one that contributed
  1661. 9:26 AM <FaustAndAbout> Get a proxy
  1662. 9:26 AM
  1663. <Salow> sure
  1664. 9:26 AM <FaustAndAbout> u rite Mish
1665. 9:26 AM Everyone else step it up
  1666. 9:26 AM Bye
  1667. 9:26 AM
1668. <Carthage> step it up, throw it down
  1669. 9:26 AM
  1670. <Salow> bye, and thanks

1674. <•[ATM]> Salow [63]: You're rushing to the elevator, talking on the phone in one hand, reading through documents on the other, fighting against the crowd streaming out as with what seems like a million little stresses weigh down your mind. Hurried and unfocused, you trip and fall into the elevator, right as the doors clamp shut around your leg.
1675. 9:26 AM You scream, first from pain, then from panic as the elevator slowly but indelibly pulls itself upwards. Pedestrians are shouting, trying to free your leg, but to no avail. Alone in your metal box, you trash wildly like an animal. Aren't there motion sensors, or safety systems? Stuff specifically meant to stop this exact scenario from happening?
1676. 9:26 AM You trigger with the million little stresses a million miles from your mind, focusing only on the bloody stump of your leg being razed against a cold concrete elevator shaft.

  1678. 9:26 AM <soulpelt|> oof
  1679. 9:27 AM
  1680. <Carthage> Striker?
  1681. 9:27 AM <soulpelt|> Brute
1682. 9:27 AM or the trigger event saves their ass from bleeding out
  1683. 9:28 AM
1684. <Carthage> if we go brute, what kind of brute?
1685. 9:28 AM <soulpelt|> Painful regeneration is always fun
1686. 9:28 AM I have an old power idea
  1687. 9:28 AM
  1688. <Carthage> Maybe Armor Brute?
1689. 9:29 AM surface-level damage and physical helplessness
  1690. 9:29 AM
1691. <Pink> Frankly, the character's internal monologue is correct, there are so mamy safety features
1692. 9:29 AM so something went horribly wrong and they are aware of that
1693. 9:29 AM <soulpelt|> When cape comes into physical contact with simple or complex machinery a chunk of the touched object is fused to cape seamlessly. Over time the machinery on the cape ‘spreads’ to fix nearby areas of the body, painfully peeling away flesh, bone and muscle. Should machinery be damaged cape must use other technology to ‘patch up’ the damaged area
1694. 9:29 AM <LRD> Brute is the obvious one but Striker and Mover are both possibilities too
  1695. 9:30 AM
  1696. <Mishie> yeah that's a fair point Pink
  1697. 9:30 AM
  1698. <Carthage> might be a little heavy there soulpelt|
  1699. 9:30 AM <soulpelt|> this is an old Brute/Striker idea I had
1700. 9:31 AM Thought it could fit somewhat if altered a bit
1701. 9:31 AM <LRD> It works but I'm not hugely fond of it for no other reason than avoid mutations or forced physical changes if they're not a C53
  1702. 9:31 AM
1703. <Carthage> Brute that hardens skin but reduces mobility the larger the threat they are facing?
1704. 9:31 AM <soulpelt|> still leaves 'em legless
  1705. 9:31 AM that's my biggest issue
  1706. 9:32 AM
1707. <Carthage> trigger events heal tho, right?
  1708. 9:32 AM <soulpelt|> not always
  1709. 9:32 AM
  1710. <Mishie> Not really
  1711. 9:32 AM
  1712. <Pink> the best ones don't
  1713. 9:32 AM
  1714. <Carthage> Go for a pirate theme!
1715. 9:32 AM <soulpelt|> like I said regeneration or the trigger event gives them their leg back as a one off
1716. 9:32 AM <LRD> No. But the loss of a foot doesn't dramatically impair them
  1717. 9:32 AM
1718. <Carthage> Giving them their leg back might just be easiest
  1719. 9:32 AM <soulpelt|> not foot
  1720. 9:32 AM their leg
  1721. 9:32 AM
  1722. <Carthage> regeneration is a changer power
  1723. 9:33 AM
  1724. <Mishie> but why though
  1725. 9:33 AM
1726. <Carthage> who did you ask that to
  1727. 9:33 AM
1728. <Salow> guys, dont know if i'll be able to stay for the next ones, will have to do some social interaction eh so if i'm gone, that happened
  1729. 9:33 AM
1730. <Pink> Neverending torrent of blood from the stump that holds them up like a high power hose
  1731. 9:33 AM
1732. <Mishie> Didn't we just have a conversation earlier about how triggers/powers don't solve the issue?
1733. 9:33 AM <soulpelt|> in this case it better
  1734. 9:34 AM
1735. <Mishie> Like yeah obviously we're not going to just fuck over the player
  1736. 9:34 AM <soulpelt|> else they'll bleed out in... what 30 seconds?
1737. 9:34 AM <LRD> Carth: regeneration is a brute power but I'm not a fan of giving them their leg back either
  1738. 9:34 AM
  1739. <Carthage> Yeah
1740. 9:34 AM Regen brutes are a different subset
1741. 9:34 AM You are right LRD
1742. 9:34 AM <soulpelt|> hence me giving them a power that fixes but doesn 'fix' it
1743. 9:34 AM <LRD> No, by sheer luck there is a medic on the top floor. Triggers are non-lethal
  1744. 9:34 AM
1745. <Carthage> but for this trigger event we're talking Armor or Muscle Brute
  1746. 9:34 AM
1747. <Pink> I quite like giving them a replacement leg that is a high pressure stream of blood.
1748. 9:35 AM <soulpelt|> Could be something similiar to Aegis
1749. 9:35 AM so a one trick pony. Lovely. :P
1750. 9:35 AM <LRD> I'm going to go look at Strikers for a bit, be back
  1751. 9:35 AM
1752. <Pink> what does that even mean
1753. 9:36 AM <soulpelt|> "my power is a high pressure endless bloodstream leg!'
  1754. 9:36 AM
1755. <Mishie> No need to be so negative spelt
1756. 9:36 AM Let him explain
  1757. 9:36 AM
1758. <Carthage> that would be incredibly hard to hide
1759. 9:36 AM basically they would just be capes all their life
  1760. 9:36 AM
1761. <Mishie> And tbh limited haemokinesis is kinda interesting
  1762. 9:36 AM <LRD> I'm guessing it's a Breaker state of some sort
  1763. 9:37 AM On/off switch
1764. 9:37 AM <soulpelt|> Breaker could work as well, yess
  1765. 9:37 AM
1766. <Carthage> when in doubt, go Breaker
1767. 9:37 AM <soulpelt|> another old power idea: Cape enters an altered state of miasma and red blood-like fluid. In this form the cape has two abilities, firstly they 'corrupt' the ground into a noxious marsh in a 10f area that impedes movement and releases a dark purple mist that causes those to inhale it to gag and be stunned for a round(DC4), secondly their Breaker form is incredibly tough and strong(5 brawn, 5 guts) and upon being hit 'corrupts' the weapon
1768. 9:37 AM hitting(-1 to attack rolls for non-living materials per hit, flesh rots away quickly This Breaker form lasts only for minute before turning off and the cape needs to recharge for another minute before reentering. Damage to the Breaker form does not carry over to normal and vice versa.
1769. 9:37 AM <LRD> I meant Pnk's suggestion and the "hard to hide" objection
  1770. 9:39 AM
1771. <Carthage> what does everyone else think
  1772. 9:40 AM
  1773. <Mishie> ehh
  1774. 9:42 AM → Jyggalag joined (Sam_Guivenn@net-1dn.p4o.168.198.IP)
1775. 9:42 AM <LRD> I'm currently looking at the "Hand" category (Striker power relates to positioning, push/pull) and I'm seeing some cool Striker/Mover possibilities
  1776. 9:42 AM
1777. <Mishie> Carthage: looks like most people are a bit busy right now
  1778. 9:42 AM
  1779. <Carthage> yeah

1835. 9:57 AM This perk requires some minor effort to maintain. Roughly ten hours a week go into activities that help them maintain this benefit, often socializing, pursuing creative efforts, or something else that's relatively enriching. Available time for other activities is reduced so long as this perk is so maintained, taking 125% as long.
1836. 9:57 AM [Life Flaw 15]: Fight prone. The character is reckless, aggressive, more inclined to pick fights, less inclined to run or walk away. Stepping away from a fight, holding back while being provoked, or being patient while waiting for an opportune moment to strike may require a Guts roll (willpower centered) to do.
1837. 9:57 AM May have a harder time building relationships with those who aren't of similar mindset or a villainous or fearsome disposition. As a subordinate, may be able to be managed via. Social rolls. As a leader, aggressive tendencies may be expressed to eager to please underlings.
