Chapter 1 - Yes, Let’s Go to Kyoto
It was late autumn in the IS Academy school assembly, where Tatenashi stood on the podium.
When Tatenashi coughed to clear her throat, the commotion in the room suddenly became silent.
“Now then, let me explain the autumn school excursion.”
The crowd made an “Ooh~” sound. Although they are specially selected elites from multiple nations, IS Academy students are still adolescent girls.
“Even though the excursion was postponed due to a variety of reasons, there’s still no guarantee that there won’t be a third party intruding.”
Tatenashi’s flashed a sharp eye for an instant, however, it was so fast that no one noticed. Tatenashi changed back to her usual calm tone.
“… and that’s how things are, so we are going to pick some students to go to the Kyoto excursion first. The members include all personal IS pilots, and will be led by Orimura-sensei, and Yamada-sensei. That’s all~”
The statement caused the crowd to say things such as “Okay.”, “A small group of people travelling with Orimura-kun? That’s too sly!”, and “I also want to go~!”
Of course, the word “Kyoto” caused the selected members, Houki, Charlotte, and Laura to light up their eyes.
“Oh, Kyoto, is it? Although Kanazawa is good, when it comes to Japan’s ancient capital, Kyoto is still the best!”
“Wow, this is the first time travelling to Kyoto. I’m really looking forward to it! Laura?”
“Yes!”
On the other hand, Cecilia and Rin looked disappointed.
“Why do I have to do things similar to manual labor… also, no old capital could surpass London.”
“Oh, Kyoto again… Why is it that in Japan, every time “excursion” is mentioned, it has to be Kyoto? I’ve been there three times. Three!”
Although it was clear in her attitude, the next sentence Tatenashi said made her attitude shift 180 degrees.
“I’ll let student council vice president Ichika-kun accompany Rin and Cecilia ♪”
*Flash* Eyes suddenly lit up.
“This lady, Cecilia Alcott, will do it!”
“It can’t be helped, although I didn’t want to do it, there’s no other way!”
Cecilia and Rin suddenly became energetic, but to their side, Houki and the others looked as if vegetables sprinkled with salt sudden loss its strength.
“W-why? Why Cecilia and Rin…?”
“I’m not in the same group as Ichika…”
“End of status, return immediately.”
Meanwhile with Kanzashi…
(Temporary silence…)
She calmly looked away.


“Ichika-san~”
“Ichika~”
On the way back to the classroom, Cecilia and Rin caught up with Ichika, and double-teamed to grab onto his left and right arms. The special softness of a girl made Ichika unable to resist.
“Anyway, this excursion inspection is very important~”
“That’s right. Ah, Ichika, how about I dress up as a geisha for you? Would Cecilia also be interested?”
“Oh? I’m very interested, ohoho~”
“Yeah, ahaha~”
Rin and Cecilia both looked very happy, however, Houki, Charlotte, and Laura were all putting on a frown.
“Wait a minute! Even if we were to go separately, you two are not allowed to monopolize! This isn’t a game!”
“Yes! This is a clear violation of the law… isn’t it? A-anyway, you’re not allowed to do that!”
“The bride’s ownership obviously belongs to me!”
Why is this happening? Everyone was arguing, when Ichika finally spoke up.
“We’re not going there to play…”
The statement surprised everyone, causing them to open their mouths.
“Huh, what…?”
“I-Ichika, do you have a fever?”
“Have you been sleeping well?”
“Oh? I’ll give you a military-style massage then.”
“Ichika-san, in order to get a good night’s rest, would you like to have some tea together?”
Each girl said their own thing, but Ichika just sighed.
“I said… no, never mind.”
Only Ichika heard from Tatenashi the real reason for the inspection.
The inspection trip’s real goal is to suppress [Phantom Task’s] base, which is located in Kyoto.
(Is this argument fine…?)
Thinking about it, Tatenashi’s smile was too suspicious.
Even so, Ichika still believed that there was a way to overcome the difficulties.
“Ah, even though it’s a bit late to say… I’ll also be taking part…”
Eh? Everyone turned around and noticed Kanzashi’s pitiful look.
“D-don’t forget about me!”

“Then, I’ll explain the real purpose.”
Tatenashi called out to all personal IS pilots, not only the first years, but also second year, Forte Sapphire, and third year, Daryl Casey.
“Forte and Daryl’s IS has already been repaired in their home country, so they will also participate in order to maximize our combat capabilities.”
The words “combat capabilities”, stirred the first years to create some commotions.
A snapping sound of a fan being opened immediately stopped the commotions. As the student council president, Tatenashi was very familiar on how to control the audience.
“Ah, are we really doing that? Mopping up [Phantom Task]… so tiresome.”
“Oh, where did you get that information?”
“From my country (Greece). I only heard a little.”
With a unique tone, the lazy looking person was Forte.
She looks like the ‘I do what I want’ type of person, and was slouching on the sofa.
Forte had untidy long hair, which was tied in a braid, and wrapped around her neck. Her body was already more petite than average, however, her slouching made her look even smaller.
“Does that mean the moment has finally arrived, student council president?”
Daryl, who was leaning on a wall, also had her own style.
Her blonde ponytail hairstyle was not that of a woman’s, but rather a man’s. The ponytail and her straight back made her seem taller. She was the type that focused on self-preservation. Her folded arms was tightly pressed against her F-cup breasts.
“Well, my personal IS, [Hellhound], was upgraded to ver2.8. So I have this hunch.”
Daryl casually boasted.
“Anyway, that’s how it is. So I would like everyone suppress the terrorist organization, while I’ll be focusing on gathering intelligence.”
Tatenashi’s formal tone caused the atmosphere to change.
“Well then, everyone be ready to attack. Dismissed!”
“Yes!”
The ones who responded with spirit were the first years led by Ichika.
The planned pre-emptive attack against [Phantom Task] ignited everyone’s fighting spirit.
“… That’s how things are.”
The next day, Ichika was somehow taken to a shopping center, so he could not help but shout:
“Why are you all planning to enjoy the inspection trip?!”
‘What snacks should we get? What makeups should we get? The bags should be fine. How about a pack of poker cards?’ …and the sorts. The girls were happily discussing a variety of topics, but after they heard a “Hey!”, they looked back and saw Ichika with an inconceivable expression.
“Uh, this is…”
“It’s a rare opportunity.”
“You’ll be losing out if you don’t enjoy it.”
“T-the trip isn’t the main purpose.”
“That’s right!”

Although the girls said that, they avoided looking at Ichika.
“Face me when you say that!”
The only response was Ichika’s own echo.

After the trip from the bustling shopping center, Cecilia had quietly sneaked away.
(During the day, I’ll go sightseeing with Ichika, and during the night… ah~ the two of us will…!!)
Her delusions gradually accelerated.
Cecilia started to squirm around, but suddenly bumped into someone.
“Oh dear, I’m so sorry.”
The other person, who was also squirming around, was Rin.


(Sightseeing in Kyoto with Ichika! This is a good opportunity! A really good opportunity!)
Like Cecilia, Rin had slipped away from the group, and was immersed in her delusions.
(A date during the day, have some dinner… and then, during the night… ufufu~)
Bam─ She then bumped into Cecilia.
“Oh, sorry about that… ah, it’s Cecilia, what are you doing here?”
“That’s my line. Rin-san, have you finished buying everything?”
“I’ll just buy the stuff when I’m there.”
“Me too.”
“Ohoho~”
Cecilia started to laugh.
“Ahaha~”
Rin also started to laugh.
The both of them started to laugh loudly in the underwear store.


“Hey!”
In the Tokyo Station, while the Shinkansen was ready to depart, Laura was intensely staring at something.
“Pardon, give me the thing called the bento box. Please give me the convenient and high in nutritional value… what is that?”
Laura discovered the Tokyo Station specialty, the chick cake.

“This-… This is…!”
Laura hugged the sample display case, the light brown chick cake fell in front of her eyes.
“So… so cute…”
After slapping her cheeks, Laura went to the old lady in charge of the little shop.
“Thi-… thi-… this! Sell me all the ones you have! I have money!”
What she took out wasn’t a black card, but rather a Schwarzer Hase card, with the other hand stretched out.
“Laura, we’re departing, let’s go!”
“Wai-wait, Ichika! I have a noble mission to purchase all of these chick cakes! Ahh, my chick cake! My chick cake will be bought by someone else! Ahhhhh!!”
Toot─ the Shinkansen made a noise indicating departure.

“There’s quite a lot of people here.”
Upon the completion of duties as the student council vice president, Ichika sighed a breath of relief.
However a pair of hands suddenly wrung around his neck.
“Ichika! This bride is really… This bride is really…!!”
This person, was of course, Laura.
There were tears in her eyes, indicating how saddened she was with the separation of the chick cakes.
“Gah! Let… let go! I’m going to die…!”
Ichika’s face started to become blue.
If it kept on going, things would become really bad. Charlotte stepped in to stop her.
“Laura, Ichika was stopping you from needlessly spending money.”
“Needlessly spending money?! What’s needlessly spending money?! I don’t normally spend money anyway!”
“Uh, wouldn’t it be better if you used the money for your wedding?”
Realising what she had just said, Charlotte quickly covered her mouth, but it was already too late.
Laura released Ichika, her eyes were sparkling.
“Wedding money? Yes, that’s it! In that case, needlessly spending money is the enemy of the family budget!”
“Oh no…”
Now it’s too late, watching Laura excitedly imagining her honeymoon with Ichika, Charlotte could only comprehend what was happening.
“Ahem, ahem… I thought I was going to die…”
While Ichika was coughing, someone threw a can of juice at him.
“Ah?”
Ichika scrambled around to catch it, it was a can of ice cold orange juice.
“That’s for you.”
The person who said that was the second year, Forte Sapphire.
Ichika thanked the senior while trying to open the lid, but quickly realised something was wrong.
“Huh?”
Why wasn’t the lid opening?
Ichika was very surprised, so he shook the can a bit, it was completely silent. Generally, when you shake a can, you would be able to hear the juice splashing inside.
