  1. Biers snorted when Ceirsha claimed to have questions. "Of course you do", he joked. He didn't realize that the girl had misunderstood the events of the prior night. He'd find that out later. When Gadadhara commented on his desire to win, the overseer smirked. "I mean it", he said to his mount. With that said, he would find the chariot, which meant a lot of careful movement from the blind overseer. He took his spot and found a way to keep himself grounded. The elephant might be in luck. If Biers had difficulty staying upright in the moving vehicle, then he wouldn't have an opportunity to whip his mount. In position now, the overseer awaited the start of the race.
  2.
  3. Brakes: little face of Frail, "Yeah, sand in my eye babe." She was going to be eaten alive in this place. Still without a driver, the ferretaur stood at ease, eyeing the fellow that approached the skull helmed fem that was one of the competitors. It was starting to look like he would be pulling one of the gaurds, and that wasn't a bad thing, unless it happened to be one familliar with his shenanegins, then there might be some exciting racing! Blinked at the figure just coming to join them, familliar with the species, but surprised to see one ready to pull a cart. Maybe he wouldn't be the most awkward one out there after all! As the thrall in charge of the race began once more addressing people, the Ferretaur Brakes: turned his attention to the fem, barely managing to keep a grimace from his face as he heard he would be pulling one of the gaurds, and turned to see a smirking female approaching. Yup, she definitely remembered him. Twisting the grimace into a smirk, he shot her a wink as the clydesdale took her place, shooting him a dark look, "The safe word is, 'hit the brakes'", he joked before giving himself a thorough shake to settle the leather and his fur, eager to start the race.
  4.
  5. Effigy rolled his shoulders, looking at the other competitors. An... Interesting bunch, to say the least. But what could he say? Snort left him, and he grinned a bit. 'Heh. I'd say good luck t' yea all lads, bu' we all know, som'un's gonna be driven int' th' sands by th' end of this." He had a humor about him, at least. Blood red grin was flashed, and he settled the leather straps on him more comfortably. Tasmanian Devils were surprisingly quick, and well. With his Lukhavim nature? He wasn't going down without a fight.
  6.
  7. Oluth closed the book finally and sat upright to watch more intently. Things seemed like they were gearing up to the beginning of the race. Sticking fat fingers into his coin purse he managed to fish out a few coins. Glancing at them he noted the two pieces of gold between his fingers and raised a long arm in an attempt to get the attention of the, was that yet another zykla? They seemed to be quite prevalent around the island. Regardless, she held the betting bucket and he thought it'd be even more exciting with a bit of money on the line. He was still torn as to who to bet on though. He was partial to the first three contestants who had shown themselves. The ferret-thing had extra legs and was better shaped for the task, but that, whatever-it-was that was pulling the large zykla seemed like a bundle of muscle. Then there was the gigantic elephant who looked like he would just feel like he was free-running. Oluth continued to mull over his decision as he waited to be noticed.
  8.
  9. Tianvul stretched his feet while walking the chariot, making sure everything was sound before approaching his ride for the evening, giving a nod towards Skirk to return that which they'd offered him. He trusted the ruby Oracle that all their equipment was in working order, but who knew what lengths the others might go to to win. No stranger to foul play and bends of the rules in order to gain the upper hand. Following the lead of skull-headed companion's attention, he glances over at the fervent competition, sizing up who they were to be racing against while flexing his grip on the reins and preparing for the race about to begin. Pooling length of black locks behind his head and tying them away from his eyes, the familiar beat of adrenaline building along with the anticipation of the Host's signal for the race to begin. Flexing his calloused grip on the reigns, he braces himself against the chariot while glancing from Skirk and back up to the young Oracle making her Tianvul rounds, waiting for telltale signal that it was on.
  10.
  11. Aula watched with curiosity as some of the men were being strapped into and connected to the chariots. Her brows furrowed as questions began bubbling at the back of her mind. What were they going to be doing? What were the harnesses for? What were the whips for?! But they sure looked nice in all that gear! Her attention snapped back to Ceirsha as an introduction was made. Her smile once again returning. "Pleasure to meet you, Ceir! What is the..." Her question was cut short as the box was pushed into her hands. She'd blink and then blink again pulling the locked box closer to her face for close examination. "Bets?" The box was shook as she peeked into the little slit for the bets to be slipped in. When Frail approached and mentioned the word 'bets', her tall ears pitched forward and the box was risen high above her. Aula"The bets go in the box!" She'd chime loudly and brightly! "In. The. Box." A bit too enthusiastically this time. The Zykla would wait for Frail to place her bet before her attention was caught by the overly large bull sitting at the far side of the arena. She hesitated. He was massive! And those horns! Her bottom lip was captured and chewed upon briefly and anxiously before the chime of bangles carried her closer to the man. Delicate steps did their best to make her way around, but some patrons would find a small footpaw accidentally stepping on rogue tails and fingers. "Oops! Sorry!" Finally, she would find Oluth's side and give the betting box a little shake. "Bets?!" She'd shout so he could hear her from all the way up there.<
  12.
  13. Ceirsha's narrow muzzle brandished a kind smile as Cici came over with her coin, "Of course. Or to Miss Au-." Gesturing to the piebald Zykla cramming the bucket up. She tapped her chin, of course other slaves milled around, "Miss Artemys can also fetch anything you mi--" Watching the dalmatian's big blues roam downwards. She thought little of it. Ceir was always looking at the ground, often forced past bashful nature to serve. "Master Biers it is then." She held out the bucket for other bets gingerly. Attaching parchment to each deposit to keep track of who bet on what. When it seemed like all the bets had been made, Ceirsha took up her place atop a three-tier stand where presumably, racers would be presented. "All bets are in!" She looked at the cone, this thing was magic. "Racers, on your mark!" The ruby oracle clad in golds and reds lifted her arm. "Get set!" Tail flicking with excitement as tail piercings glinting in the bright sunlight. Ceirsha pauses for a few more seconds, "Go!!" Yelling as loudly as she could into the magic cone. Giving a little shake of her head as the sound run in her tall jackal ears. If we could please keep posts shorter, especially during the laps to keep things moving along smoothly. Also only runners roll! Roll when ready~

  19.
  20. Gadadhara appreciated the gesture given to him from Cerisha and that someone in the crowd's even seemed willing to bet on him. This was a great boost to his ego when he thought of himself as an out washed up retired gladiator...but no he had more to give! Skirk was eyed as they were eyeing him. Ah yes he remembered that one. On multiple occasions now the elephant had been instructed to put the beast in it's place. "I hope you have been behaving yourself." Taking a line right out of the books of those who had deemed to give him that same statement. Just a bit of passing things forward. "Going to give me a run for the money hmm?" Fanning the fires a bit to alit the challenge that was already set in their eyes. Good he liked a good challenge to and he'd sorely been missing it even though he might not admit it to anyone but himself. Gadadhara was way too into his taunting that Cerisha had yelled Go while his head was still turned and he was yammering on. Now everyone else speeding a head of him. He grunted and dug his soles into the shifting sands and pushed himself off. Biers holding the reins tightly as the cart tilted back as momentum surged through the wheels. Hopefully once he got up to speed he'd overcome them. -e-
  21.
  22. The Hunter hadn't been behaving at all, thanks for asking, Gad! The sneaky fucker had been a pain in the neck for the Tether. Skirk could feel the tension in the reigns from the light clench of the fist, irritated she shook her head. The weight shifted as Tian shuffled within the chariot, with a brief disgruntled huff she poised into position, predicting the behavior of the other contestants. As Cherisha barked out a command Skirk stuttered for a brief second before realizing it was a race, bounding into the front at the start she blitzed out of the lead, neck to neck with the quick tassie. A brief chuckle was heard when Team Ruby passed the distacted Grey-Thing.
  23.
  24. Effigy could feel the energy and anticipation in his blood like the sweetest of drugs. This. This was why he hadn't ripped this pathetic form to pieces. Eyes narrowed as he awaited the signal, his eyes only on the goal. He just had to run a few laps. Sure, the chariot was heavy, and the guard only made it heavier, but it didn't matter to Akan. He looked up to where the odd vulpine creature running this thing sat, looking away after a moment. The moment she shouted for them to go, he dug his thick legs into the shifting sands. But Tasmanian Devils routinely hunted in sandy areas, so he found purchase easily enough. Surging forward, he made a break for the forerunner's spot.
  25.
  26. Brakes seemed to waiting for that word to set him loose, and had a good start, until he tried to shoot a wink at Aula as he passed (oh yes he saw the looks she had been giving them), and unfortunately tripped himself up. Not enough to actually fall, but enough to lose his early advantage. Hearing the gaurd cursing behind him, the ferretaur turned to very maturely stick out his toungue at her, and saw he was at least still ahead of Gadadhara and gave the larger male a ferrety grin before turning and making more of an effort to race, particularly since he knew that, freebeast or no, he was going to get a good thrashing from the clydesdale in the cart if he really messed up.
  27.
  28. Tianvul didn't seem to need to give Skirk anymore encouragement, watching as they rolled into position and he prepared to take off. Thankful he'd readied his grip on the reins and kept a firm hold, the initial burst of speed and force jerking him back until he found his footing. The rush of his pulse pounding in his ears, glancing behind him as they pulled ahead of the other two, leaving them neck and neck with the last competitor. Not seeing any reason that they needed further encouragement, doing just fine on his own, the Titan Zykal would bend and crouch in his chariot; leaning into the turns and trying his best to hide some of his mass behind the wall of the chariot. Wind resistance and all, every little bit hopefully helped, right? Squinted gaze narrows, the brisk cut of wind across his eyes as he focused to keep track of where they were turning next, occasional glimpses behind him to see who might be catching up or pose a threat to their chances at first place.
  29.
  30. Oluth looked down at the tiny patchwork zykla as she shouted at him. His brow quirked up at her odd behavior. Perhaps she was nervous. He held out the two coins and said, "Two on Saphire." In the end, he was biased towards the creature with a similar build to his own. He smiled down at Aula, trying to perhaps put her at ease some. Only to reveal a mouthful of sharp teeth, quite at odds with the bull mouth they resided in. "Thank you Little One." He had gotten his bet in just in time as Ceirsha started off the event. Oluth watched the runners take off from their marks with a touch of excitement. Only for that excitement to deflate rather quickly as the elephant seemed more intent on chatting than running. Bugger.
  31.
  32. Frail nearly shrank back from the piebald vulpine as she shook the box at her, eyes widening, especially as she accentuated each word so enthusiastically. She reached her hand out to drop her bet into the box. She had a healthy allowance, and she wanted to participate! Also the idea of putting something on the line, like money, for something she had no control over was oddly enticing. "Your friend is uh.. enthusiastic." The dog said to Ceirsha, before turning back to Aula. "I'm Cecily, nice to meet you miss." The piebalds bright color reminded her of sunlight breaking through the clouds. Pretty. Her cheeks warmed a little bit, head snapping away as she realized the rather large bull had approached. How had she not heard him approaching. She looked towards the arena just in time to catch Brakes winking at Aula. "I really think he has something stuck in his eye!" She insisted, directing that statement towards the group. "H-hello, who did you bet on?" The dog said, Frail: stumbling over her words as she decided to greet the bull-man.
  33.
  34. Aula looked up at Oluth with bright eyes of anticipation. It seemed he was still judging the contestants. She would also look down as they prepared to start the race. At that time she'd spy the Ferretaur (Brakes) do something weird with his eye? She'd blink and then offer a confused smile before attention was brought back to Oluth and the sound of his coin dropping into her box with a clink! "Team Sapphire. Okay yes!" She'd chime excitedly just as Ceirsha sounded the start of the race! Her tail and hackles bristled excitedly seeing each team rush off! But as Oluth peered back down, her smile once again dwindled and those elegant ears swooped back against her auburn, star trinketed hair. "Oh..." She'd look up at him quizzically before offering a nervous "Teehee. En-Enjoy the race, Sir! Goodluck!" And with that, the sound of hurried bangled ankles clattered as she made her way back to Ceirsha to put in the bull's bet. Fingers and tails we best avoided this time around.
  35.
  36. Ceirsha smiled weakly. "Heh, she is." In contrast to Aula's bombastic nature, Ceir was a far note quieter in her carriage. "Miss Cici is very kind." She commented to Aula before turning to Oluth and offering a gentle nod in greeting. Where had she seen him before? She'd left any remaining bet taking before the race to the piebald. Descending to set the race in motion. And everyone certainly took off like a shot! Ceirsha held down her dress as a sudden rush of wind lifted it at the start of the race. Her brows lifting as she shielding her ghostly gaze from the sun. They were faster than she'd expected! Then again, pulling the chariots was a herculean task to her. She'd tried and just wound up tripping on her butt. "It looks like..uh.." she checked her notes, remembering the use the magic cone this time "Akan and Skirk are in an early lead!" Thick tail swaying behind her. "And they're coming up on the second lap!" >>
  37. Ceirsha: Second lap rolls! Add your accumulated number to the end of your posts. And remember if you are going to 'play dirty' you must declare it before you roll.

  42. [#] Brakes rolls 1d10 & gets 10.
  43. [#] Effigy rolls 1d10 & gets 7.
  44.
  45. Effigy did not let his early lead fool him into a sense of complacency. It was just the first lap. Plus, he had someone else near him. Look was shot at Skirk but he didn't play dirty. Not yet. He needed to see just how far back he would fall, before he started any tricks. His rider, however, did not like this. The whip cracked, scoring across his back and he let out a grunt. Still Akan pushed himself further. Trying to keep his slight lead over the main pack. [9+7=16]
  46.
  47. Gadadhara now he seemed more worried about the Handler. Giving a quick peek back towards the blind Handler. Good thing he wasn't in a race with real horses or he'd have been smacked into a wall by now. Though he seemed balanced, favoring one of the rails for extra security and the reins wrapped in the same hand as the whip. It was assumption of the fact that Biers would likely hear they were falling behind because that whip could come into play smacking down upon a bulky thigh to refocus the brute on the task at hand. A grimace from the swift strike and searing pain which had his mind leaping back into action. At the turn at the end of the arena. His leathery soles allowing him to drift within the sand to cut a sharper bend. The cart nearly lifting up from the power of his mass. A wheel screeching against the tight edges at the side of the wall. Surely Biers' eyes would be bugling out his head as he tried to hang on for dear life! Gadadhara Though the elephant had made up a lot of ground he was still unfortunately trialing the pack. [1 + 8 = 9]
  48.
  49. The Hunter's narrowed mind kept pursuing ahead of her, she did not care that Akan was looking at her and continued on, the pull of the chariot weighed heavily on her but she could power through to the next round easily, she wasn't ready to fold and with Tian stooping lower the resistance of the wind behind her lessened. [9+7 = 16]
  50.
  51. Brakes didn't play around again, his awkward looking body now showing the truth of his abilities as he managed to get a good pace going and made up for his earlier stumble. Though it seemed everyone got a good handle on themselves going into the second lap. The ferretaur didn't allow himself to get distracted this time though, instead focusing on the nearest person he needed to pass to get ahead, his shambling run surprisingly gracefull, and the gaurd in the cart now looking less annoyed, her ears folded back and lips curled in excitement. [4+10=14]
  52.
  53. Tianvul held on with a white-knuckled grip, keeping crouched as the chariot rounded the next lap with increasing speed. The thrum of adrenaline dilating his pupils as he focused on where they were going, trying to prevent any extra drag or resistance from holding them back. Neck and neck with Effigy, a competitive scowl twisting his features. Come on, just a little more. Inner thoughts encouraging the Skull-headed creature to give it their all; competitive side laced with gambler's addiction fueling the need to win as they roared through their second lap and begin the third and final loop around the arena.
  54.
  55. Oluth smiled again as Aula bounded off, trying to be friendly. Only to be approached by one of the spectators. Her words surprised him. It was not often he was approached by free people. AKA, people who didn't HAVE to interact with him. The surprise showed on his face. "Oh. Saphire. I liked the look of the elephant." Though, he wasn't so sure now. Admittedly the man's second lap was a vast improvement over the first, but it seemed it might be too little too late.
  56.
  57. Aula It was upon her return did she return a greeting to Cecily. Her smile just as bright as before as she clutched the betting box close for safekeeping. "Hello, kind Cici" utilizing the nickname provided by Ceir. "Miss Ceir, the sharp-toothed bullman bets on.. " She paused a moment to look over the contestants as they went for their second lap. What did he say again? "Uhm." Her jaw hung slack for a moment. Many moments. It really shouldn't have taken her this long to remember. "Sapphire!" She pursed her lips and wrinkled her nose at her own embarrassment. Gross. Quickly clearing her throat, she'd stuff the box between her legs as she took to the railing, leaning over really far to get a closer look at all the runners. That bum gave a little wiggle while her willowy plush tail gave a quick and excited sway. She was entirely enthralled with their speed and desire to win. Shouldn't be doing something else rather than spectating? Naughty Zykla.
  58.
  59. Ceirsha blinked at Aula. "Sapphire, aye? He seems to be a favourite." But as the race began, it didn't seem like he was doing the best. Suddenly recalling what Master Biers had suggested for the less quick slaves, she winced a bit at the thought. But her scattered mind was ensnared by the race once more, it was getting a little exciting as the slaves rounded the second lap, kicking up dust and dirt in their wake. Standing behind Aula, she brought her tail in front of herself. Resting in her hands, she curled her fingers into small fists within its willowy fur. She wanted to cheer but timidity curled around her spine, expressing her excitement in far quieter ways she craned her head left and right. Standing on her tiptoes to get a better peek at who was leading. Fists and tail held near her chest, Ceir gently teetered from one foot to the next in a slow sort of hop. Moving just a little faster the more excited she got, "Oh oh! They're on the last lap." She exclaimed. She wasn't the best example of keeping attention.

  64. Effigy: [Let's play Dirty this round, @Hunter]
  65. [#] Effigy rolls 1d10 & gets 1.
  66.
  67. Effigy feels the whip on his back once more as they round for the third and final lap. His rider yelling something almost indecipherable about 'Getting that skull-headed fuck'. Akan huffs, fine. It wasn't like he was planning to play fair anyways. As he ran, he pulled in closer to The Hunter, bringing his elbow out to ram into her. But Skirk was quick. Quicker than he was. His elbow only seemed to graze her side, earning him more lashes.
  68.
  69. Frail offered a smile to the bull, she didn't remember which team was Sapphire, but she knew what the elephant was. Her eyes darted over her shoulder, looking concerned. She could only hope Master Hunter wasn't cross she lost money betting.. but what he didn't know, didn't hurt him! "He's not doing well, is he?" She muttered, concerned, before turning back to the man. A nervous escaped her lips, nose tilting down. She didn't often talk to strangers, or approach them but it felt too awkward to sit and say nothing while he sat relatively alone. "I bet on him because I thought because he was bigger, he'd be better at pulling." Eyes drifted towards the zykla pair, watching the piebalds tail wag in the air, gently turning her head to look at her own whip-like tail.
  70.
  71. The Hunter was a mixture of persistance and ambush predator, so keeping an image of some prancing prey in front of her kept her going, rushing faster and faster. There was a slight bump on the side and lo and behold it was the devil that had been her closest competitor since the start. Was the blighter trying to trip her? Akan's driver seemed furious and with the sound of the whip the creature picked up the pace. It wasn't much of a surprise that when she finally reached the finished line and the crowd went up in a roar that she had to be slowed down to a stop. Wait, it was already over? What exactly was all this for? Amusement?? You sick fucks. [9+7+8-1 = 24]
  72.
  73. Gadadhara was banking off a prayer now that the leading teams would turn on each other creating some form of distraction so he could pull ahead from behind. But that wheel in which skidded off the side of the arena walls seemed to be the deciding factor here. There was a creaking sound and the sound of splintering wood as the axis buckled under the immense pressure being put on the small cart. Off shot one of the wheels sent humming and spiraling off into the sands in a random direction. The entire cart listing horribly to one side and Biers having to grab hold and hunker down to protect himself. This caused the titan to immediately skid to an utter halt as to not further endanger the Handler. Grunting he took the harness belt off and sighed disgruntled. But he was going to finish this damned race though! The elephant in a show of great strength bent into a squat and placed his hands on either side of the chariot and hoisted the now rickety cart. The sinew beneath his grey flesh pushing outward with veins and toned muscle as he lifted it with seemingly ease...Biers, the cart and all. Toteing it the rest of the way across the finish line. [ 1+8+1 = 10]
  74.
  75. Brakes wasn't going to catch the leaders up, he knew that, and he felt the elephant on his heels, until a snapping sound caused him to look around, missing the attempted elbowing happening ahead of him. It was unsurprising to see the show of strength as Gadadhara hoisted the cart with the handler, and the ferretaur put in an extra effort to at least make it in third place, the threat of a whip shouted at him from the gaurd he was pulling. He didn't have the breath to mouth off, but in his head he was definitely saying something about sucking his nuts. What the hell had possessed him to fucking RUN A RACE with a CART?! [4+10+3=7]
  76.
  77. Tianvul sat knelt in the crook of his chariot, keeping head and shoulders low for ever little bit of advantage he could muster. Just a little more, little more. Focus and attention drawn towards the finish line of the final lap, competitive streak pulling every single iota of the Pirate's attention. That is until he heard the crack of a whip and shouting coming from just behind them, the angry shouts of Effigy's rider and direction to overthrow them. Instinct being to immediately reach to the non-existent belt at his hip and waist for flintlock and saber usually kept sheathed. "Shit.." Forgetting briefly in the heat of the moment that he'd come dressed to theme, toga and cloth wraps affording him no weaponry. Probably for the best considering his initial reaction to the dirty tricks being played. A curl of his upper lip and rumbling growl in his throat, swishing his tail to try and usher the attacker away, rocking their vessel once or twice until they were able to pull ahead at the last minute. The tension of nerves released like a coiled spring as they crossed ahead of the others, wash of relief and celebration flooding over him as he jumped from the chariot after managing to slow it down. "Good fuckin' show," Wide smile on the Zykla's lips, reaching forward to place a warm pat on his Runner's back. Glancing over his head towards the stands where the ruby Oracle stood, offering her a small smirk and wave with his other hand. Are you not entertained?!
  78.
  79. Oluth watched the two little Zykla as they danced and wiggled, eyes lingering perhaps a tad longer than they would care for. Tearing his eyes away he looked back at the race. His runner still wasn't doing well, and was, in fact, carrying his damn cart. Never a good sign. Though, he appreciated the tenacity. As the racers began crossing the finish line, Oluth let out his breath in a long disappointed puff. Oh well. It had been an exciting time regardless. With the race winding down, his eyes fell back on that little wiggle instead. There really wasn't much that would hold his attention better. The dog's words managed to distract him for a moment though. "Indeed, he didn't do well. And I share in that reasoning as to why I bet on him." He shrugged. That's a shame.
  80.
  81. Aula's eyes grew wide as the race grew neck and neck! The arena was nothing more than clumps of sand, dirt, and sprays of clouds veiling the track. Each rider and racer barely visible in the thick of it all. A thump was heard, a sound of protest caught her ears, pricking them further above her auburn hair as she leaned in closer and closer over the railing. She held her breath as they dashed to the finish line! Her small fists clutched the railing as she squealed excitedly. "Yes, yes!" The very moment Hunter and Tianvul crossed the finish line the piebald would jump, thrusting her hands into the air with an excited squeal! "Winner!" In her excitement though, the betting box was dropped and clattered on the stones. Whoops! Aula Quickly correcting her focus, she'd grab the box again and give it another shake, ensuring all the coins still remained inside. A quick glance around her feet ensured not a single one had escaped their wooden cage. She may not have been able to bet, but she still could gamble without money. Right? Turning now to Ceirsha, she'd give the box a little shake. "Bets to be collected?" An enthusiastic smile spread wide across her patchwork cream and opal face while pale blues blinked excitedly.
  82.
  83. Ceirsha would never admit it, but she hoping for a particular outcome. Serpentine sway of her tail moving a bit faster now, a winding wine-red river spanning out behind her with glittering gold trinkets reflecting warm sunlight. Her hands still balled in fists but lifted near her chest as the last lap was coming to close. They were so close, it was so nerve-wracking! She'd even taken a few steps forward towards the railing with ever wide growing eyes. "Come on...come on.." she muttered quietly under her breath. When Hunter and Tianvul cross the finish line, she let out a loud squeal and jumps. "Acha!" Only to quickly cover her mouth with her hands, tail wicking back and forth faster as she looks around. No one really saw that. Of course they didn't. Though the sound of Gad's wheel peeling out into the sand had her head-turning with a yip. Eyes widening. Was he carrying the cart?! It wasn't really allowed but the race was over and frankly, how was Ceirsha going to stop the elephant? She smiled a little bringing her magic cone up, "Please give a cheer for all our wonderful runners and drivers!" She announced as the race was coming to its conclusion. "And the winner is Captain Vy'roska and Skirk!" She caught Tianvul's wide grin and merely turned her head away in a huff. He was going to be insufferable now wasn't he? Glancing to Aula's question. "Oh uhm. Yes!" She seemed in charge but she was winging it. Tail coiling around her body, she stepped up to the podium. "In second place we have Brakes! In third is Akan! And in final place is Gadadhara!" She'd make her way down with trophy and hoped Aula would follow behind with the winning purse gathered.
  84.
  85. Frail frowned as the elephant lost. She had the money, but she deeply regretted betting on the loser. Now she had to give up her allowance. It was a naughty temptation to merely exit the arena, but she'd feel bad dipping out on Ceirsha's game and not paying up. She held up her coin purse, quietly muttering under her breath as she counted out the exact amount, and countred again to make sure. Her counting was slow, and careful- struggling with math and money in general. The dog was tempted to ask if she had the right amount, but the embarrassment of admitting that she wasn't an expert at it made her reluctant to do so. "It's a shame, but I guess being so big, made him slow." She lamented, noting the man's fixation on the zykla. She couldn't blame him- Ceirsha made her very flustered for reasons she didn't understand, or could explain.

  87. Effigy grunted as Skirk not only surpassed him, but so did the weird weasel thing. Fuck he was not going to win this. He tried to put on a burst of speed, keeping close behind the ferretaur, but still. He ended up in third. Slowing to a stop, he stood there as his rider yelled at him. What? It wasn't like the Guard really needed a trophy. Arms crossed over burly chest and he let out a grunt before looking at Skirk. "Nice racin' la. Yer a right belter. Ya leg it sound."

  89. Gadadhara exhaled a heavy breathe as he sat the wheeled box down to let Biers be on his way. Poor elephant couldn't even look the man in the eye at this point. "Sorry Master Biers." Throat a bit scratchy from flying sand but also just dried up from the shame of it all. It seemed he wasn't going to stick around any longer...maybe even being a little banged up after the crash and so the Handler made his way off. The elephant frowned deeply and went to kneel upon the lowest rung of the platform to give proper congratulations towards the winners. He wasn't going to be a sore loser after all. He was just more worried about all the patrons in the crowd who might have it out for him now that he lost them coin and the possibility of a pissed off Handler to deal with later it was never a good thing. "Nice job critter." he said to Skirk since well he didn't know their actual name. "Sir..." He bowed his head towards Tianvul. Gadadhara Then addressing the fading crowd. "Please let me know if I can be of service to anyone." Least he could do for flubbering it up so badly. Though if no one took him up on that offer he'd be disappearing off to shake off the loss.

  91. Brakes didn't realize until Ceirsha announced it, but he was actually in second place! Looking about in some surprise, he turned to the beastie with the skull-face and gave a grin, "Looks like your four legs were better than mine!" Turning to the other competitors he was equally pleasant, offering "Good race" to the devil, and to the elephant a sincere "Good show back there." Cheek was completely run out of the ferretaur, and all he could think of was taking a long, hot soak. Holy nuggets he was not a long distance runner! The gaurd that he had pulled slapped him on the shoulder as she walked away, giving a tight but genuine smile before making the 'watching you' gesture. All in all, great time!
  92.
  93. The Hunter just stood there in a stupefied way, kind of expecting something more. But that didn't matter, she had won and left that Grey-Thing behind in the dust. Bad luck and a lumbering body had to be a nuisance, she easily grinned through her mask. Money started to get exchanged between hands and the curious Hunter paid no attention, other than to catch glimpses of the sparkly stuff. Shiny, alluring but not much else, the Hunter questioned their worth and useage. Whatever, some seemed uphappy to get rid of the shinies, seemingly a lot of them had betted on the favorite of the race. When Akan spoke to her she tried to pay attention to how he spoke, but his accent was too thick in an already complex language. With Gad's remark she just tore back her ears in threat, not particularly fond of him. The sudden feeling of a stroke on her back alerted her, twisting her head to the side in a quick snap she assumed it was a positive gesture rather than something sinister.
  94.
  95. Tianvul couldn't help the wide smirk on his face, full of confidence, maybe even a little too much, but he had reason to be happy. Catching the Ruby Thrall's eye when she glances his way, only offering a knowing grin and tilt of his head before he was turning back to Skirk to help relieve her of the harness and chariot attached. Welcoming the other racers as they finished, passing congratulations around to each despite whatever each wore around their necks or perceived differences in stature. Stopping briefly to make sure the Overseer was in one piece, not keeping him as he departed before offering Gadadhara a reassuring pat of his hand against the large fellow's bicep. "You finished, despite what happened. There's heart in that." The same offered to both Effigy and Brakes with a tilt of his head forward, "Good show the both of ya. Definitely gave them somethin to watch and talk about." Tail swishing and swaying back and forth, eyeing the approach of the two Zykla lasses; one he was most certainly familiar with; the other drawing a curious loft of his brow at Aula. "I'd almost wager my winnings you have a way of attracting new zykla to the island there, Moonflower." Warm smile awarded to Ceirsha with a nod gesturing towards Aula. "Come to give your Captain his prize?" Unable to mask the most certainly pleased tone he took with her, rolling his sleeves up to the elbow and brushing off some of the dust leftover from their face. Gesturing to Skirk to come and join them once freed to claim their prize, as well. "More thanks to my runner of course. Ya did well there."
  96.
  97. Oluth couldn't help but chuckle at Aula's antics. She seemed a sweet creature. He wasn't sure what to make of Ceirsha's apparent embarrassment though and didn't pay much attention to it. This time it was Cecily that got the bulk of his attention as she struggled with counting her money. Oluth's brow quirked up. Minotaur were often seen as brutish and stupid. Which was fair, since most of them were. So Oluth had a fair idea of how to help without causing undue embarrassment. Without a word, and without prompt, Oluth reached down and plucked a single coin from Cecily's hand before she handed over her money, and dropped it back into her coin purse. He didn't linger on it. Instead, looking back to the racers and watching them interact and receive their prizes. As Tian approached them Oluth rumbled out a congratulations. "You and your runner did well Captain." He gave the man another smile full of sharp teeth.
  98.
  99. Aula Even if Ceirsha was winging it, the piebald thrall hadn't the foggiest. She was lucky to have captured the Zykla's attention long enough for the evening, otherwise, she would've slipped right out to that pretty bathhouse she had seen along the way! Alas, the race was breathtaking, the crowd was exhilarating. And the chance of there being a crash was far too good to pass up! Cici was met once again as she began to count out her coin purse. Slowly Aula's head would tilt, canting off to the side while sending auburn waves over her spotted shoulder. For all she knew, Cici could have dropped in two coins and Aula would have called it good. "Thank you, Cici! Sorry for your loss." She could tell the dalmatian was visibly disappointed. Ceir's cry of excitement was all too familiar to the thrall. Aula's smile spread even wider across her muzzle as she followed the event's hostess down to the arena floor. Each step was precise and careful, mindful of any loose digits and limbs this time! Cling. Cling. Cling rang Tianvul's winnings as she approached. She'd hold onto that box like a precious thing, peeking in through the slot to ensure no coins had escaped. She almost wanted to take one for herself, they were so pretty! Another shake was given before she presented it to the Titan. "Gold coin for the Titan winner!" She'd smile again before giving an awkward. "Hiii." Her gaze then drifted to Hunter with another curious head tilt. "Strange. But strange is lucrative." It was a compliment really.
  100.
  101. Ceirsha's tail swayed softly as she made her way down, passing Cici she leaned over as though sharing a secret. "I am sorry you lost your coins Miss Cici, but I hope you had fun all the same." Her accent lilting gently as she offered the dalmatian an encouraging smile before continuing down. Reaching the arena, she carried the trophy in one arm. The pot for the race filled the cup, along with the additional purse brought by Aula. "Congratulations to Captain Vy'roska and Skirk!" Setting the winnings down on a nearby table before casting a furtive glance towards the grinning Titan, she dipped her head graciously,"Thank you all of you for participating." Her smile was genuine despite trying to not give him the satisfaction. Grateful to not only the patrons but the slaves who'd worn themselves out providing an excellent race! Despite her glaring awkward tendencies and timid nature, there was a reason she was a house slave. Even if Ceirsha didn't know it. "Miss Skirk, you can choose between a day of pampering. Or a day of no chores. Though, um I've been asked to remind you that you must still behave." A small wince as though to apologize for the reminder. "Which would you like best? I'd go with no chores.. you get to sleep in." Was she waiting to hand the trophy portion of the prize the Tianvul? Oh you betcha! But it was easier this way too. Talking and such.
  102.
  103. Gadadhara patiently waited for the trophy and coin to be dished out. The elephant only smirked lightly to Skirk's flipping their ears back at him. Welp they weren't on speaking terms apparently...eh maybe one day. The slap to his arm brought a warmth to his spirits. "Ah thank you Sir." It wasn't his fault the chariot wasn't built to be handled by one as big as he was. There was always next time though. When no one had called him out for any assistance and the proceedings had been finalized he'd take that as a reasonable space to slip out. Aching muscles could use a break and an unfortunate cold shower to rinse off all the sweat. Off he lumbered. -exit.
  104.
  105. The Hunter being unrestrained dropped the chariot as soon as she could and stretched, beckoned over by Tianvul she took a hesitant step and waited, now Chershia was speaking to her and in her rapid, cypheric speech, Skirk just silently waited until she realised she had to say something. Her jaw went loose for a moment and hinged on one side, perhaps she was going to say something profound or breathtaking as she inhaled before she spoke in her whispered tone, "Uh... Cake?" -- not a real answer but one could understand that when her old friend offered her the treat it was often in a relaxed environment, essentially saying she'd like the day off.
  106.
  107. Frail's eyes widened as a big hand descended from the sky, plucking a coin from her hand and dropping it back into her coin pocket without a word. Her cheeks warmed a little, but she was grateful, mouthing a 'thank you' to the man. "It's -It's fine, really!" She insisted, dropping the coin into Aula's hand, eyes wide. Where did the creature get so much energy? How was she not terrified of drawing attention to herself?? Cecily was mostly in awe of it, rather than any kind of annoyance. Her face turned bright when Ceirsha smiled at her, returning her own awkward smile to the red head. "It's alright." It wasn't. "I'm just g-glad I got to come is all. I dont usually leave the suite." Mostly because people were terrifying. But it these people weren't so bad, they were nice. Even the terrifying looking bull-man with sharp teeth. Did bulls usually have sharp teeth? When the elephant asked if he could serve anyone, if anyone needed anything, Cecily merely muttered under her breath. "Yeah, for you to take the lead out." When she was sure no one would hear.
