Moving On (MLP- Twilight)

>One week after the defeat of Tirek.
>You sat in bed, with your arm in a sling and leg in a cast.
>You, the unlucky motherfucker that you were, were taking a nap when Tirek so kindly BLEW THE FUCKING LIBRARY UP.
>With you still IN IT.
>Twilight couldn't teleport you out, due to your immunity to magic.
>In fact, she had all of ten seconds to even alert you with a "Get out, now!"
>You had taken one step down the stairs when the library exploded around you.
>After the fight, Twilight had tended to your wounds as best she could.
>A shattered tibia, a dislocated left shoulder, in addition to numerous burns all over.
>You weren't going *anywhere* anytime soon.
>Still on track to a full recovery, though.
>Twilight wasn't in the room yet, she was still downstairs celebrating the defeat of Tirek with the rest of Ponyville.
>You'd be down there too, if you had any mobility at all.
>The new castle was...nice, actually.
>Twilight told you several times over the past week that she didn't like how flashy it was, but that was Twilight for you.
>She actually had plans to make it look more 'natural'.
>The door swung open, the mare in question stumbling in with a goofy expression on her face.
>"Heeeeey there mishter hueman~!" She said, staggering a bit.
"Twilight...are you drunk?"
>This was different.
>"Oh, me? Pfft, no~!" She replied, leaning against the doorway. "Wish the room would shtop shpinning though."
>The alicorn took two steps inside, then fell over.
>"Whoooopshieee~!" She giggled from the floor.
>With titanic difficulty, you grabbed your crutch and hobbled over to the mare.
>Picking her up, you tossed her lightly onto the bed.
"Twilight, you're not one for partying this hard."
>"I ahm now!" The mare replied in the same bubbly tone. "After all, no more nigh'-time readin' fooor meeeee~!"
"Why's that?" You asked, cocking your head to the side.
>The castle had a huge library. Granted, it was empty at the moment, but that would solve itself soon enough. Twilight had placed a massive order earlier today, before the party.
>"'Cause, shillypantsh!" Twilight said, poking you in the head with a marshmallow hoof. "My library'sh gooone!"
>She paused.
>"My library'sh...gone."
>Twilight seemed to sober up in a real hurry, her mood taking a vicious one-eighty.
>"Library'sh gone. Owlowishcioush is gone. Haven't sheen him shince..."
>A small shudder from the mare as she took a steadying breath.
>Then the tears started.
>"I-I-I beat Tirek, that no good book hater, but..."
>She left the bed, walking over to the balcony jutting out from the side of her room.
>Twilight seemed oblivious to the fact you couldn't easily follow.
>Spreading her wings, she took an unsteady flight to the charred remains of the Library, over a mile away.
"Ah dammit."
>You picked up your crutch, hobbling down the stairs.
>It was a party, all right.
>A banner strung across the hall read "Thank You Princess Twilight Sparkle!""
>Ponies of all kinds were mingling and just having a good time.
>They made way for you as you hobbled out.
>You heard a snapping noise, and you were suddenly staring at Discord, who in turn was dressed like a clown.
>"Oh, and where is my dear human friend going at this time of night, when he should be enjoying Pinkie Pie's best party to date?"
"Fuck off, Discord." You spat, still headed for the door.
>The Draconequus flinched, as did several ponies in earshot.
>While the ponies may have been quick to tolerate him after Twilight personally vouched for him, you couldn't stand him.
>"If you're going somewhere, best human buddy of mine, I cou-"
"I'd rather not deal with you at all, actually."
>"Oh, I...see. I suppose I'll find solace in dearest Fluttershy, then." Discord replied, sounding genuinely hurt.
>You didn't care.
>He had caused enough problems, up to and including nearly getting Twilight (and you) killed over what was obviously a trap.
>Fluttershy patted the...'thing' on the back, as you hobbled outside.
>"He'll come around, Discord. Don't worry. Now, how about we go and get a few more of those cucumber sandwiches..."

>It took you two hours to limp to the charred remains of the library.
>Twilight, now sober, was sitting near the devastated ruins.
>Caution tape was all around, warning ponies about getting too close.
>Her old bed was nearby, crushed under a window and heavy wall.
>The library walls were simply erased, every single book burned to ashes.
>You had a feeling that's not what she was actually upset about, though.
>You sat down nearby, placing your hand around her shoulder.
>"My first party, ever, was here." Twilight said after a moment. "My first sleepover was here too."
>Twilight giggled somberly.
>"I remember losing my mind here over a test, pulling the library straight out of the ground."
>You held her close, and she didn't resist.
>"I became an alicorn here."
>Her hoof traced through some of the nearby ashes.
>"All those peaceful nights reading, or researching...staying up until Celestia-knows when just to write another Friendship Report..."
>Twilight sighed.
>"I...gave my virginity to you here." The mare said, looking at you."So many memories... gone."
"How so?" You replied.
>"No library to remember them with."
>You poked her on the horn, and she recoiled.
"Hey, none of this Negative Nancy crap." You said quietly, with a grin. "You should be proud of yourself. Despite everything being stacked against you, you came out on top."
>"I know I should be happy, Anon. I found my true purpose, I sent Tirek back to Tartarus...I saved all of Equestria again! Anypony would kill to trade places with me!"
>She sighed.
>"I just...wish I could go *home*. Not to my room in Canterlot, not to that new castle...I want my Library back. I want Owlowiscious back."
>Twilight laid her head in your lap, relaxing as you scratched her ear and stroked her mane. She sighed loudly after a moment.
>"And now you probably think I sound like a filly. 'I want, I want.'"
"We all have those moments, Twi." You said with a small smile. "It's important to not forget what you still have though. You've still got your friends that love you to pieces. Spike, Celestia, Shining Armor, the girls, your parents...you've still got me."
>Sighing lightly, you kissed the tip of her horn.
"There are things, though, that we just have to move on from. Don't forget where you've been, but don't let it slow you down either."
>Your hands continued running a path along her spine, and the mare's breathing slowed.
>She eventually fell asleep on you, resting her head on your good leg. The denim was slightly wet from her tears.
>'Good', you thought as you slowly scratched behind her ears.
>Twilight deserved a nap, you'd be here when she woke up.
