  1. [EVENT] ** The distant clatter of rotors can be heard as a hunter-chopper peels away from its regular patrol route, making best speed for the northern extent of the Apron. Astute citizens and... 'counter-culturalists' alike might notice that a large portion of the district's complement of scanners also redeploys, a cloud of the tiny flying robots trailing after the receding aircraft. **
  2. [EVENT] ** After a few moments of what passes for activity in this sector of the city, the sound fades back to the less threatening ambience of decaying buildings and hushed conversations. **
  3. [EVENT] ** Following on from the departure of one of the city's air cover units, the dilapidated, Soviet-era PA system crackles into life. There's a painfully loud squeal of feedback, and then the measured, emotionless voice of the Combine Dispatch rings out across the deserted streets. **
  4. "Attention, please. All citizens in local residential block, assume your inspection positions."
  5. [EVENT] ** It sounds like the block count is well in progress up in the residential area; however, none of the Civil Protection units venture past the old railway siding. They might be bored, but they aren't quite bored enough to break the unspoken agreement they hold with the local 'counter-culturalists'. Professionalism is for the inner districts; out here, anything goes. **
  6. [EVENT] ** Once more, the cold voice rings out. "Attention, please." There's a moment's pause before the computer finds the right phrasing. "All citizens in local residential block, resume normal duties until next inspection cycle." **
  7. [EVENT] ** The voice hangs slightly on the last syllable, as though hesitant. "Thank-you." It sounds about as hollow as it possibly could. It's unlikely the computer even knows what gratitude is. **
