  1. [19:13] Leni exclaims, "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!"
  2. [19:13] Walter Docro says, "HI."
  3. [19:13] Leni starts charging towards the Kitsune from a long ways off, going full tilt towards him.

  7. [19:13] Walter remains completely still. Perhaps his time had come.
  8. (Walter Docro)

  11. [19:15] Leni charges, for all she's worth, and tries to vault over Walter's head. It doesn't quite work just yet, and instead she smacks into his shoulder-
  12.  
  13. And sticks there. Like she's made of Velcro.

  15. "Hey! Hi! How are you? What's up? Doing anything fun?"
  16. (Leni)

  19. [19:17] Walter receives the full force from Leni's jump. Though the kinetic energy does not quite topple him over from her weight and speed alone. Instead, he remains as still as earlier, with the only immediate change in his demeanor being the tilt of his head required to stare at the tick-like nature magi.

  21. "Hi." Lackadaisically, he greets. "Some stuff. Right now, I'm just relaxin'."

  25. [19:19] The only way she could be more tick-like is if she were actually sucking blood, though many do already claim her to be a pest. It's not too far off the mark in that regard.

  27. "Some stuff!? You can't just say 'some stuff'! That's no fun!" she whines.
  28.  
  29. "Just, like, staring at the water and junk? That seems kinda' boring."
  30. (Leni)

  33. [19:19] Walter nods. He's implacably serene. His posture does not waver in the slightest. "Yes. Like staring at the water, and junk. Finley gave me a day off."

  37. [19:19] Walter Docro asks, "... what about yourself?"
  38. [19:21] "Ooh. Are you working for Fin now? And for Myll?" she chirrups excitedly.
  39.  
  40. "I've been exploring more! Getting rocks and flowers, and I got this staff here! I've been trying to meditated but it's, like, super hard. And also boring."
  41.  
  42. She spidermonkeys all over him, using the Kitsune like a jungle gym.
  43. (Leni)

  46. [19:30] The ponderous character in Walter's figure becomes more evident after the few questions.
  47.  
  48. "Something like that." He doesn't quite know the answer, obviously. "I'm just tryin' to preserve a helpful ally, and earning my day's worth, if anything."

  50. Walter plucks Leni off from his back by gripping at the neck of her shirt, then throws her over his shoulder. Though he's playing along, one can't quite shake off the pensive atmosphere in his body language.

  52. "You sure haven't changed, huh?" It's unsure whether he's jesting or lamenting it. "I'm glad those things still make you happy."

  56. [19:35] Leni is still, for all the world's dark spots, still Leni. Painfully so. She hasn't changed much. A little taller, longer of limb, but outwardly still just as bright.
  57.  
  58. She even laughs as the hulking Kitsune transitions her to his shoulder. It's still one of the loftiest perches in all Esshar.
  59.  
  60. "Nope! No changing here! And you're still all quiet, but you're not yelling so that's good."
  61.  
  62. The nature-magi pats his masked head.
  63.  
  64. "Is everyone else okay? Like Yers, Marz, Phere, and Misha? Are they all here too?"
  65. (Leni)

  68. [19:52] Both the statement and the question seem to get him unpredictably vulnerable. For a moment he lingers in nothing but silence, Walter seems to hunt his psyche for a correct response. Not only in verbatim, but a tangible one, one that could permeate physically in a way that would represent his sentiments.

  70. "I haven't seen Phere or Marzius in a while other than here and there. We don't... generally share much anymore. They're either on standby or doin' their thing, y'know? That's fine."
  71.  
  72. He's clearly hesitant. Sharing that load wasn't anything the dog man would be generally keen on, mostly for image purposes. Yet, eventually, he'd break through the idea and find his footing. He was changing. Constantly. Neither for good, nor bad.

  74. "Standing still... I guess it's not too bad. Every thing's always going somewhere, 'innit right?" At first, he only pats Leni's back reassuringly. Yet soon enough the gesture would morph. Walter lowers her from his shoulder blade area, then gently wraps both arms around her into a hard felt embrace. Leni's feet dangle freely at the height of the Kitsune's knee caps, not unlike a toy doll's would.

  76. It's hard to tell why, but there's a dense air of transparency in the gloomy gesture.
  77.  
  78. "Sometimes, I just wish these things remained the same forever. Y'know?" Silence strikes ominously. "Please, don't change."
  79. (Walter Docro)

  82. [19:59] If she's struck a particular nerve, Leni is not immediately aware. She hangs out on the perch of his shoulder, as is her wont, and thinks little of it until he speaks. Something about his tone strikes even her as odd.
  83.  
  84. "Well. Sometimes friends do different stuff, right? And that's okay! We could go to Under Os and visit, if you wanted? Isn't that where they're at?"
  85.  
  86. To his second statement he nods.
  87.  
  88. "Yeah! Even if you can't see it, even the really big trees are still growling. Just super slow."
  89.  
  90. Leni can now better tell he's in a mood. Sometime around when he plucks her off of his shoulders and hugs her tight. What can she do but hug back? That's what always makes people feel better, and she can only do her best to help.
  91.  
  92. "Yeah! Okay. I'll try really hard not to. I like being me," the air-headed magi offers brightly.
  93. (Leni)

  95.  
  96. [20:11] As he receives his much needed sum of physical care and reassurance, Walter hums a monotone croon past his shut mandible. His chin rests on top of Leni's own shoulder for a solid few seconds before he musters up the emotional strength to rid himself of the need of being hugged.
  97.  
  98. "Thank you, Leni." Leni's feet come into contact with the floor once more instead of having her return to the usual spider monkey-like gimmick they'd often find themselves in. "I'm sorry. That was out of the blue, pretend it didn't happen."
  99.  
  100. There's yet another pause.
  101.  
  102. "I can't quite come and go from and to Osrona as I please lately. Unless I'm using my other face, it's likely that the Order will try to have my head on a pike for what I did to the High Lady's kid."
  103.  
  104. There's a light shrug.
  105.  
  106. "Plus, I don't... really think I want to head there at the moment. I'm fine here, I shouldn't be far from Finley these days."
  107. (Walter Docro)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.  
  110. [20:11] Walter Docro says, "... y'know, Asta's kid defected."
  111. [20:11] Walter Docro says, "In case you didn't know."
  112. [20:11] Leni asks, "I...think I did? Mikael, right?"
  113. [20:11] Walter Docro says, "And I kind of... gave him brain damage."
  114. [20:12] Leni exclaims, "...Haha, wow!"
  115. [20:12] Leni asks, "At uh. At least he's not dead?"
  116. [20:12] Walter Docro says, "I mean, probably not."
  117. [20:15] Leni, as energetic and bright as ever, is only happy to oblige and give Walter some much needed solace. He might not always walk a righteous path, no, but that did not make him any less deserving of succor in her mind.
  118.  
  119. "It's no trouble!"
  120.  
  121. He sets her down, she hops up to pat the crown of his head. The gesture feels right as she beams at him.

  123. "Nothing to be sorry for, but- ...I mean, what are you talking about!?"
  124.  
  125. She grins even wider, picking up on the game of 'pretend' a little late for the stern Kitsune's sake. She gives him an exaggerated wink.

  127. "I told Yers I'd visit. I'll let him know you're okay and that you said hi? And it's good you're around, I can see you a lot more when I'm in Myll!"
  128.  
  129. Friendly faces are never out of fashion for her.
  130. (Leni)

  133. [20:17] Walter ruffles Leni's hair smoothly, offering her a nod of his head. "Yers comes from time to time, as does Misha. But, you know - the other kids don't show up as much aroun' here. Still, thanks."

  137. [20:17] Walter Docro says, "You know, it's ok if you want to do anything else. I'll just hang out here for a bit longer."
  138. [20:18] Leni asks, "Okay! I'll still come back to see you. Have fun though, okay!?"
  139. [20:18] Leni says, "You've got to promise."
  140. [20:18] Walter Docro says, "I'll do my best."
  141. [20:18] Walter Docro says, "Have fun, Leni."
  142. [20:19] Leni grins, shooting Walter a double thumbs up. She scampers along into the sunset...rise?...Noon sky. Whichever.
