  1. Super Paper Mario TAS - any% Notes
  2.
  3. Below are the notes I have taken regarding point grinding and such.
  4.
  5. -It takes 80 frames to switch to 3D mode.
  6. -Jumping from a stand-still to moving is 4 frames faster than just walking.
  7. -It's fastest to press Up-Right or Up-Left when entering a door, elevator, or similar object.
  8. -The game does not register a jump unless you hold '2' for 3 frames.
  9. -It is always faster to switch to 3D at the start of the loading zone instead of later on, assuming that health isn't a problem.
  10. -Item RNG is determined 2 rooms before the room that you can obtain it in.
  11.
  12. In Level 1-1, it takes 7.33 seconds to grind to 20,000 points (Level 3).
  13. You can get a minimum of 20,300 points, while still reaching Level 3, without touching the ground.
  14. The highest score you can get without leveling up is 19,000.
  15.
  16. In Level 1-3, you receive 1,000 points for getting the Speed Flower. It is faster to get this regardless of where you will grind. Therefore, it is fastest to get 19,000 points in the first grinding spot and then the 1,000 from the flower.
  17.

  19. Fracktail gives 1,000 points.

  21. Destroying the Castle gives 1,200 points.
  22. Bowser gives 2,000 points.
  23. Dimentio gives 1,000 points.
  24. Francis gives 3,000 points.
  25. ____________________________
  26. 11,200 points from required boss battles, meaning that at minimum Mario will have 33,200 points by 4-4.
  27.
  28. In 1-3, there is a skip using a bounce off a coconut that gives 10 points.
  29. There is a trick in 1-3 that requires a bounce off of a goomba. That will give an extra 100 points.
  30.
  31. In 4-4 Mario gets about 3,000 points from hitting the pigs for coins
  32. ____________________________
