  1. [19:37] With Bei Bei by her side, Joy feels irrevocably stronger. Able to face the crowd with the yin to her yang, she doesn't so much mind the fact that others were around so long as they were hand-in-hand. Leading her partner, she'd navigate them through the courtyard to stop in front of the knowledable Nima and the kind Angelo, taking a quick note of the third stranger with her lilac eyes before ducking her visage out of nerves.
  2.
  3. "Uhm, hi Nima and Angelo…"
  4.
  5. It is, perhaps, a bit difficult to hear her in the crowd of the courtyard. Yet, with the ample amount of pressure and anxiousness that colors her body language, its easy to see why she doesn't raise her voice.
  6.
  7. "Nima, I was looking for you - ah … the other day, because I liked your notes on Arcane. You're really smart and I wanted to see if you knew anything more or could answer some questions for uhm… my partner and I. This is Bei Bei. She's my best friend and partner."
  8.
  9. The talk of demons may very well overwhelm the request. It is difficult for an Academy to feel normal with such creatures entering the fray, after all.
  10. (Joy Crane)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [19:42]
  14. "Hey, hey.~"
  15.
  16. A simple hand waves back and forth while she allows the Crane to speak on behalf of them both. "We were looking for you because we had a super cool idea." She says while beginning to nod. "I suppose that since she's all shy and what not- I...Think that I'm just gonna force her to break out of her shell. So, if you don't mind me.." She says while trailing off, her smile widening considerably, leaning slightly to whisper within the Crane's ear. A hand lightly raising, patting the anxious girl on the shoulder.
  17.
  18. "I'm sure it won't be too long. Just like she said, we've only got a few questions- and...We think that your presence is ermm, ah...Valuable." She says, nodding, before whispering within her partner's ear in an attempt to comfort her.
  19. (Bei Bei)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [19:42] Bei Bei whispers something.
  23. [19:46] Joy Crane whispers something.
  24. [19:48] Angelo shifts his head slightly in the direction of the duo, his gaze falling just a bit astray from Joy, and still just a bit astray from Bei Bei, right in the middle.
  25.
  26. Obviously, they were interested only in Nima, but this was by no means something that didn't interest him. A hand raised to grab Nima's arm, as he used his left hand to grab upon the wooden rod that he so often used for support. A tap of it against the grass underneath was enough to send a thrum echoing through the earth, locating both girls who stood in front.
  27.
  28. "Of the Arcane? This reminds me of something, Nima..." He said, before leaning in to whisper at the man's ear, although if his smile does not waiver for even a single moment.
  29. (Angelo Sanguinis)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [19:49] Angelo Sanguinis whispers: If you need help, I can go too.
  33. [19:50] Nima blinked twice as Joy came to talk to him. He did mention about her to Mina a few hours ago, so it was a rather good coincidence to meet her right now. A soft smile to his features, as he tried his best to hear what the teen had to say, since her volume was rather too low, so to speak.
  34.
  35. "Hello Joy, good to see you again. How have you been?"
  36.
  37. Just as before, it was rather obvious that she was shy due to being around so much people, so Nima would try his best to not raise her anxiety to the roofs. Listening closely, he nodded to Joy a few times once he understood what she said.
  38.
  39. "Oh, I am not that smart, I just pay attention to class, is all. I guess I could try to help and answer questions, if I even know the answer to them, that is! And I am aware of Bei Bei, even if wasn't the best of the circumstances."
  40.
  41. A short nod to the Jianghuren, finding it weird once she said and acted like that. An eyebrows is raised, as he got up from his sit.
  42.
  43. "Sure, what is this 'super cool idea' you speak of? And I suppose that we should head to the library or something? Since we will be reviewing notes and such, hm? I can always finish my drawings on a later date."
  44.
  45. Then listening to Angelo, he once again raised an eyebrow, nodding to the blind boy. Then turning to Bei Bei and Joy one more time.
  46.
  47. "Is it a problem if my friend comes? He is as aware of the Arcane as I am, so I suppose he could answer the questions I don't know the answer for, and vice versa."
  48. (Nima Hatayer)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [19:55] With the approach of Nima and the offer of Angelo's delivery on his own insight, Joy's hand squeezes Bei Bei's. She hadn't expected for Angelo to wish to come, but in this case? They wouldn't turn down a second. It is something that they could currently work with.
  52.
  53. "O-oh! No, no - we'd love it if your friend would come," Joy speaks with a bit more confidence now that Bei Bei was engaged in the conversation. Her gaze is practically shimmering when focusing on Nima and Angelo, attempting to radiate gratitude regardless of her incredibly shy disposition.
  54.
  55. "Could you -- uhm, could you lead the way? I tried to find the library, and I got lost... Come, both of you, please! Golly, I didn't expect twice the notes. We're going to learn a lot, Bei Bei."
  56.
  57. Joy gives a hopeful smile towards her partner, before preparing to trail behind the taller boys.
  58. (Joy Crane)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [19:56] Nima Hatayer says, "Angie, come."
  62. [19:57] Nima Hatayer says, "Hm.."
  63. [19:57] Nima whistles as he moves the chairs around.
  64. (Nima Hatayer)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [19:58] Nima ..ICly.
  68. (Nima Hatayer)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [19:58] Angelo Sanguinis says, "... I don't have notes, though."
  72. [19:58] Nima Hatayer says, "You have your brain."
  73. [19:58] Angelo Sanguinis whispers: Remember, no Order!
  74. [19:59] Nima Hatayer whispers: I am not stupid Angelo..
  75. [19:59] Angelo Sanguinis whispers: We never know...
  76. [19:59] Angelo Sanguinis whispers: People say a man's brain is turned off when near the woman he likes...
  77. [19:59] With a budding seed of excitement being planted within the unassumingly coy girl, she settles into a chair along with Bei Bei.
  78.
  79. "Oh, don't worry... anything you know will help, really! Bei Bei and I are really, really interested in the Arcane. And... after the lesson, we'll tell you about our idea. Its uhm… well, we're hoping it will be very, very fun."
  80. (Joy Crane)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [20:00] Nima Hatayer says, "-Shut up Angelo."
  84. [20:02] Nima opens his notebook at the page that spoke about the Arcane, trying to find the specifics of Ishmael class that spoke about Order and Chaos, since it was the subject which was taught about in the Academy.
  85.
  86. "So. What are the questions? Or do we need to explain things first? I am not sure on what you both know and such."
  87.
  88. His gaze going from Bei Bei to Joy, he seemed rather focused.
  89. (Nima Hatayer)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [20:11] "Oh, u-uhm…"
  93.
  94. There's a release of a parchment scroll and ink-filled quill from Joy's satchel, unfurling what she'd had come prepared with. The last session that would've spoken in depth about the actions of Chaos Magic, as instructed by Ishmael's biased opinion.
  95.
  96. "From what I could uhm… understand. That the driving force behind, well, any sort of Arcane is the emotion and precisely how we tend to use it, right? Instructor Ishmael said that to fuel Chaos, they let their desires freely and tend to act selfishly, pursuing one's own interest. Well, if that's the case for Chaos, is Order perhaps... the o-opposite? Where the Order Mage has to be selfless to balance?"
  97.
  98. That was the first question, her eyes wide and blinking at the two.
  99.
  100. "If - uhm… if that's the case. Then we know it takes a selfish heart to embody a Chaos Magi, and a selfless heart to embody an Order Magi. When we have that, we know what sort of emotions to use to help fuel us towards those levels of Arcane. So, my next question is... when we figure out the right emotion, how do we start to push it towards the path of Arcane?"
  101.
  102. She clears her throat with a soft 'hem hem' after elaborating, perhaps sounding much more studious than intended.
  103.
  104. "I-I'm sorry if I look like a nerd..."
  105. (Joy Crane)
  106. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  107.
  108. [20:15]
  109. She finds herself beginning to tilt her head in mild curiosity. She had always knew that the Arcane were pretty much, the exact same thing as the symbol upon her back. "I like to think of it as a balance of some sort, I suppose..." She murmurs softly, her gaze drifting elsewhere. "You cannot have one without the other- and because of that...I think that while people can be selfless...There are other, different traits, that might also push them forward. But ah- errm.." She says while trailing off- her hands clasping together..
  110.
  111. "I dunno- but that's one of the reasons as to why we came. Because we think you two are really smart and have a lot more experience than us two already." Especially since they've been here and have already been a part of a few lessons. Or atleast, that is what Bei assumes.
  112. (Bei Bei)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [20:22] Nima nods, quickly turning the page he was in to find the very specific subject that Joy spoke about. With his finger passing towards the page until it stopped, a paragraph and a half about it. Not as much, but just enough for the boy to understand and have his own interpretation of it.
  116.
  117. "It's less emotion, and more intent. Your intentions and desires, if they are aimed towards your own growth and not of the others, are the openers for being a Chaos Magi. At least, that's what Mister Ishmael told us."
  118.
  119. He passes to the other page, his eyes to Bei Bei once again, and then to Joy.
  120.
  121. "It.. Is more or less about balance, yes. But not in the way you might be thinking. They both do pretty much the same thing- Using the energy of the Arcane to their will. But while one bends the lifestream to do so, hurting it.. The other one becomes..."
  122.
  123. He scratches his chin, how would he put it?
  124.
  125. "Like.. A vessel, so to say. An instrument of the lifestream to utilize its power. Chaos by itself induces selfishness, while Order induces self sacrifice in order to maintain the 'natural order' of things. If you really think about it, they try to balance each other, but that doesn't mean that they will be balanced."
  126.
  127. A smile at Joy, together with a soft giggle.
  128.
  129. "I am a nerd and I am proud of it, don't be sorry."
  130.
  131. In a way, it was.. Rather clear that he avoided the last question. Perhaps Angelo would use better words than Nima to answer it.
  132. (Nima Hatayer)
  133. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  134.
  135. [20:35] The wooden rod rests upon the wall right next to him, both of his hands clasping against the wooden bench. The blind boy simply stares forwards, his head moving with his breathing and perhaps only that. Not the smartest choice, given that Joy is the one that sat right in front of him, but nevertheless...
  136.
  137. He allows Nima to speak through his notes, and whatever has been learned by him in the lessons that they had about these in the past. Order, Chaos, and the Arcane in general -- Subjects of interest to many, and Ishmael's classes are paying off!
  138.
  139. "Not necessarily they are to be balanced. They tend to try and overcome the other side, and even if people say that Order is restrictive, and Chaos is somewhat corruptive, both have their pros and cons. Each to their own, I say. But balancing never comes in." He says, soft voice calmed down by the quiet environment surrounding them, the gentle smile spread throughout his expression.
  140.
  141. "They don't try to balance each other. It's like... One person comes here, and puts all the books in the tables, so they can read it for themselves. That's Chaos. The other one, tries to organize all books again, so everyone can benefit from it, part by part! That's Order. You see-- They don't try to balance each other out. They might organize at one point, where other gets scrambled, but they don't try to leave a bit to the other one."
  142.
  143. Hands raise to his chin, as he leans in closer to the wood, the soft thrumming echoing even in this floor! The smile spreads wider, before he seems to, for a brief moment, look to each one of them, the almost-white blue irises looking to them -- Not their faces, but them.
  144.
  145. "To attune to the Arcane, we still don't know for sure. Focus?" He said, before lifting himself back up,shrugging and letting out a giggle! "No, really. It's less about figuring out the right emotions -- It has no things such as that. It's about... Well, what Nima said. Helping the lifestream, or harming it."
  146.
  147. A sweet, gentle smile.
  148. (Angelo Sanguinis)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [20:44] Joy's head nods with the force of a bobble head, her quill scribbing the notes down with an odd sort of vigor. Narrowing her eyes onto her work, the offered advice and knowledge from both Angelo and Nima is signed upon with a content smile, dotting the very end.
  152.
  153. "Golly! That's so helpful!" She exclaims in happiness, before realizing just how excited she was and attempting to tone herself down out of a rush of humiliation. Clearing her throat, she'd tuck the scroll aside.
  154.
  155. "Thank you both so, so much... Bei Bei and I can try and figure out how to act on this. The uhm… helping the lifestream, or harming it. I know there's a bunch of ways to do it," Joy says with a bit more composure, resting her hand on her knees.
  156.
  157. "Uhm… so the idea that Bei Bei and I had was to start a club! It would be uhm… to encourage a more organized way for students to do their token battles, you know? Instead of everyone challenging each other and doing a sort of dog-eats-dog world, we can have a consistent, tournament like setting where students can contend with other students they feel are more on their level. The token loss is much, much more minimal that way, and it also encourages even the most frightened of Magi to fight on equal ground..."
  158.
  159. Joy's fingers begin to tap together at eye-level once more.
  160.
  161. "I mean... I know that life isn't fair, but... but Pleure Academy is to help prepare all of us to be Magi in the real world. If people aren't even willing to try, or if people are too afraid to lose all of their tokens, m-maybe they'll like the organization and feel more willing to go for it. It'll be fun! I'm sure a lot of people will make friends or - or friendly rivalries..."
  162. (Joy Crane)
  163. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  164.
  165. [20:55] Nima keeps his smile, closing his notebook since it seemed that Joy and Bei Bei didn't have any more questions about it. He honestly felt good and relieved that Angelo helped him with the girls, it would be far more difficult for Nima to give them correct information! The blind boy had a unique way to use his words, far better than the artist teen.
  166.
  167. "No problem, Joy. I hope that we managed to help as much as we tried- And uh.. Don't me afraid to come at me to talk about.. Y-You know, classes and such! It's always pretty fun to do so."
  168.
  169. He coughs a bit, looking to Angelo for a moment, and then back to Joy and Bei Bei.
  170.
  171. "I dislike how the Token system works, which is why I gave my six tokens away to the ones I felt to be worthy. It's about the strong picking on the weak, not about Magi's learning while fighting each other- Which is also why, I only fought the strong ones after I realized it! I don't want to beat up theweak ones, I want to learn from the best."
  172.
  173. "If being an Elite is doing what they want us to do? I am happy being part of the scum."
  174.
  175. Opening the notebook once again as he remembers to continue his drawing of the fish, he starts to do so! Study glasses by his face as he keeps the chatter.
  176.
  177. "I am not quite sure if I would be able to help, since I gave away all of my Tokens. But I do like the idea of making things less of a dogfight, and more like a.. Civilized and organized way to fight. Things by Pleur are far too 'Laws of the jungle' since the very beginning, where we had to fight in a battle royale."
  178. (Nima Hatayer)
  179. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  180.
  181. [21:07]
  182. She finds herself beginning to frown slightly. Perhaps, it was because of her Jianghese upbringing that made her think that they were meant to be balanced in some sort of shape or form. But in any event, there is an odd amount of silence between the two- because she necessarily wasn't looking to become much of an Arcane magi...Due to being more physical than anything else. But to digress, the young girl does indeed, nod briefly..
  183.
  184. "I think that it might come in different ways, I suppose. But as of now, I suppose that it's true- that we only see nothing more than 'chaos' rather than 'order'...It can't be helped then. I suppose that the darkness does try to eat away entirely at the light and vice versa." But would that be able to explain the reason as to why the Kitsune, Suha, is still capable of possessing all of her order abilities despite being so heavily intertwined within Gehenna and the Demon's beings?
  185.
  186. Of course, Bei Bei doesn't know her but still- the actions of such is all there. But in the end, she just nods. "Y-Yes, yes, you've both been terribly helpful but ah...I think that you're missing what it is that these tokens might be able to bring. Why-...Why would you like to remain 'scum' instead of reaching towards the top?" she questions, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.
  187.
  188. "Life is a competition- and you'll be compared no matter where you go...I think that this, is just a way for us to kinda sorta realize it, you know.." She adds. "B-but I mean, if you feel otherwise, then I suppose.."
  189. (Bei Bei)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [21:15] "What's the point of being on the top, if you did so by climbing on the weak to achieve it? That is no Elite, that is just. A competition is about fairness, this is just a slaughter- While I understand that the weak are not supposed to win this, what are they learning from it? That they need to become stronger? Pft. They already know that, they are coming to Pleur for that very same reason!"
  193.
  194. He coughs, he was getting far too upset with it.
  195.
  196. "Also. I never came here in order to be recognized, I came here to learn. This is why I come to classes, this is why I ask questions, and this is why I practice. For the purpose of knowledge by itself. This whole Token thing didn't change anything to me."
  197. (Nima Hatayer)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [21:25] "Well... I think you're right, Nima. And Bei Bei's right, too! Uhm… competition is healthy, you know? For some people, it can be a good motivator...?"
  201.
  202. She doesn't want to offend Nima at all, and with his noble mannerisms, to say that Joy was inspired and impressed all the same was an understatement. He'd make a beautiful Order Mage, she'd thought, with the nobility that radiated off of his countenance. She tries to offer him a friendly smile.
  203.
  204. "But... but! There's nothing to learn if you're constantly just bullied by people who like to hurt others for no reason. I think the club will help give both the 'strong' and the 'weak' equal challenges that they'll face. Maybe, the weak will get stronger and can face their foes with the club's help? Wouldn't that be great to see people actually putting what they learn to the test?"
  205.
  206. Joy's hands fold together before her. "We don't need your tokens, Nima! No - we just want uhm… we want your help in bringing people in - so we can start the first roster, you know? It'll just be one token for participating, and then we're going to have prizes and all sorts for people winning the 'challenges' and it'll encourage them way more than just the Elite status!"
  207.
  208. Finally, she'd focus at Angelo. "Do you... do you like the idea, Angelo?"
  209. (Joy Crane)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211.
  212. [21:40] His lips retreat slightly, a soft nibble given on the lower lip as they purse to the right side. He still stares forwards, gaze lost in the endless imagination of the scene that surrounded him. Only he and himself could know how he imagined it, what crazy sorts of mechanisms were put in place in this, impossible for his blind sight to detect.
  213.
  214. "I never fight." He said, voice missing the usual chipper tone of his, and for a brief moment, the eyes full of hope let a somberness take over, eyelids closing slowly. A sigh escaped from between rosy lips, as he continued speaking.
  215.
  216. "I do like the idea, but I don't think I'd participate. I don't even have any tokens... But still. Training with your similar peers, to understand how to fight, to see how well it executes -- It all makes perfect sense." Opening his eyes, a renewed smile was offered to the duo in front of him, followed by a courteous bow of his head.
  217.
  218. "You should definitely come forth with this idea to the headmistress, though. Do keep the words about it being bad for the students and such away. We never know if it's intended, or if they just haven't thought of it yet. It's better to have their support!" He says, before a soft giggle echoes, his lips closing in and hiding his teeth, even if his lips were still bent in the upwards arc of a smile.
  219. (Angelo Sanguinis)
  220. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  221.
  222. [21:51] Nima stops for a moment, completely silent as he crossed his legs. Bei Bei, Joy and even Angelo had fair points about it, so he had to consider the options and such.
  223.
  224. The whole Token thing did upset Nima quite a lot, and he was very vocal about it to several students already, the way it worked was far too disorganized and with little to no reason to keep going. Most students would refuse to fight strong people, and would pick on the weak, as he already said.
  225.
  226. "Hm.."
  227.
  228. Scratching his chin, he nods.
  229.
  230. "Alright. I am in. If we are able to turn this into a proper competition, with fair rules and even better organization than the one that is already at hand, I want to help. So the other students are able to have a better chance, and to actually learn along the way. This is an Academy, it is about knowledge over strength- Or so I would like to believe."
  231.
  232. A smile to Joy, as he fix his glasses that were falling from his face once again. It was rare for Nima to discuss this sort of thing with people, since only Angelo would hear him about it.
  233.
  234. "You both are very smart and noble to have this idea. I will be honored to be part of it."
  235. (Nima Hatayer)
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  237.
  238. [21:57] Her lips fall open, then close. They spread open once more, and only a squeak pipes out for the moment. For once, she doesn't feel insignificant due to the circumstances. She wasn't beyond saving, and her time at Pleure Academy may actually blossom as her family would've hoped. A tint of rose tickles her cheeks, and Joy hugs the scroll against herself as though they had offered her the greatest treasure in the world.
  239.
  240. Acceptance!
  241.
  242. "I'm - I'm going to get a better plan in order, and we'll talk to the Headmistress about making it official! Oh, gosh, oh gosh - I'm so happy, I … thank you, both! Bei Bei and I are going to work very, very, super, duper hard to get the club's idea out and then everyone will learn properly in Pleure Academy!"
  243.
  244. Squealing in happiness, she'd come to a stand from her chair - grasping onto Bei Bei's hand once more. None of this would've been possible without her, afterall.
  245.
  246. "We - wewewe - we have a lot of work to do! So, can we all meet up again soon when we got our plans in order and can put them to work? Tell people about the club! If we get a lot of interest, maybe the Headmistress will let it happen!"
  247.
  248. Joy bounces in her place, estatic. "C'mon, Bei Bei! We're going to need coffee and and and… wowee, I'm excited!"
  249. (Joy Crane)
