  - ji dulhee was born on january 7th of 1997 in gwangju, south korea, the hometown of her parents, ji donghun and ji yeonsoo. both of her parents were well renowned, her father for his sprawling corporate empire and her mother for her exquisite fashion line. to say that the two of them were unprepared to care for a child would be an understatement. she spent most of her childhood without her parents, and instead was forced to entertain herself. sure, they bought her all the new toys that were in to at least give off the illusion of being good parents, but no amount of money could have substituted for the love of a parent, and because of this, she developed sarcasm as a defense mechanism against anything she didn't know how to handle.
  - as a result of her rather lonely and fairly soap opera-ish childhood, dulhee grew up preferring not to have too many friends. throughout her school life she only kept one or two close friends, and basically ignored the rest of the population. her cool demeanor and rather off-putting background only helped her accomplish this task, but she never cared much for being around too many people anyways. she always had a tendency to avoid people who were too loud or overly obnoxious, because she gets fed up fast and often can't handle situations like that maturely.
  - by the time dulhee was old enough to live on her own, she knew that she needed to escape the usa. she couldn't say she particularly hated it, per se, but she also couldn't say she loved it. nyc had always been a constant in her life, a place where she couldn't help but be reminded just how averagely shitty her life is, and she wanted to put that all behind her and actually start living her life, which she decided would be best accomplished by moving back to her birthplace of korea. her parents, despite being strangely absent in her life, were strongly opposed to this at first she she proposed the idea to them. however, with a little support from her aunt that she met on a summer trip to korea a few years back, dulhee was finally able to convince her parents to let her move to korea.

𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺:
  ― WITTY & SARCASTIC / the one obvious thing about ji dulhee, from the moment you meet her, is that she is sarcastic. plain and simple, the only humor that she knows is dry and slightly offensive. her demeanor is acerbic, and she is rather witty in most situations. being friends with her isn't for the faint of heart, because if she's close to you, chances are, she's insulted you at some point in your life. she isn't afraid of speaking her mind, and constantly is being told to shut up by her friends because sometimes, she can be a little too much. coming from a family where she didn't know anything except for the cold emptiness of a giant house, dulhee developed sarcasm and satire as a sort of defense mechanism. it's the base of personality, and often times the first thing you get when dealing with her. however, she can be exceptionally brusque, borderline mean, when she's put in situations she doesn't feel comfortable in, or when someone is pressing her to do or say something she doesn't want to. when she feels awkward or simply doesn't know how to act, dry jokes and satirical humor is always the automatic response dulhee has. while her sarcasm might be the root of her personality, though, it is not the only thing she has up her sleeve, and when she actually tries, she can actually be pretty sweet.
     ― CLUMSY & FORGETFUL / on the flip side of dulhee's personality is her rather childish aspects. with her sharp wit and brusque demeanor, most people don't really seem to understand that she's actually the youngest out of all her friends. however, along with being snarky, dulhee has a habit of forgetting things easily. she's not necessarily the most responsible, and if she doesn't write it down, she's probably going to forget it, no matter if its something small like to text a picture to someone, or something major, like to study for the next test she has coming up. she isn't sure why, but if she doesn't pay the utmost attention to something, it will go in one ear and out the other. this has a tendency to get in very interesting situations, like the time she missed her best friend's surprise birthday party (that she organized!) because she forgot what time it was supposed to start. along with being forgetful, dulhee is also kind of clumsy. she really lives up to her role as the youngest with her habit of breaking just about anything she comes into contact with. she isn't the most graceful, and has broken her phone at least 5 times in the last 2 months. (the only thing formidable enough for her is a nokia.) her friends, however, are used to this aspect of her personality, and have practically baby proofed the apartment to prevent her from breaking anything -- or, at least, anything important. she might be clumsy, and not exactly suited for even leaving the house, but she has a passion for doing just about everything under the sun. because she hurts herself so much, she has practically no fear, and wants to do the craziest things (like skydiving, swimming with sharks, etc) and just experience life in a fun way.
     ― CLOSED OFF & AWKWARD / as i mentioned before, dulhee is a very sarcastic girl, but the front she puts up is nothing more than a defense mechanism because she doesn't really know how she should act in certain situations. underneath all her bark and no bite, she's actually just a really closed off and kind of detached from her feelings, outwardly at least. the problem is, she spent so much time internalizing all her emotions that she eventually ended up not knowing how to actually communicate things. she can seem stoic, and like a bit of a bitch, simply because when it comes to anything even slightly emotional, she doesn't know how to react. most times, she ends up trying to change the topic or ending the conversation quite rudely to risk any more embarrassment. she's scared that if she lets anyone see the real her, with all her emotions, then she'll be judged and treated like an outcast. dulhee has a bit of a reputation as being the one your not supposed to come to when you need emotional support, and despite the kind of person it depicts her to be, she greatly appreciates it. she doesn't feel like she's close enough to anyone, not even her best friends, to actually show them how she feels, because she has the mindset that they would drop her immediately for being too needy or something just as absurd.

𝘰𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: assistant to a big music producer (parttime)

𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱: exes (they kind of hate each other but in a passive-aggressive way)
  - had a fling a few years ago when dulhee visited korea over the summer, but their relationship ended very badly and she still kind of hates him because she felt he was never really himself when they dated

𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮:
  - his work ethic!! she wishes she was as dedicated to any one thing as he is to literally everything he does (like even gardening or something...)
  - how sweet and thoughtful he can be be :( like once he saw her staring at a book in the shop window and just decided to buy it for her
  - how much he loves animals! especially cats. she can't get over how much he loves cats
  - that they have basically the same interests?? he really was her perfect guy like they both love making music and listening to music and writing music

𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮:
  - how he can be really passive in arguments/not clear and create more problems (eg. says what she wants to hear instead of saying how he actually feels)
  - also how pissy/rude her is now that they aren't dating (its his way of deflecting his leftover feelings for her but she doesn't know that)
  - she also dislikes that he felt the need to fake so much of their relationship, and that it sort of felt like she was dating a completely different person
  - meanwhile she feels like she knows next to nothing about him, and he knows EVERYTHING about her -- her insecurities, her family issues, EVERYTHING. she hates it.

𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘢:
  ― when they were dating, taeyong was the lovey dovey one
  ― their whole relationship was taeyong having a huge crush on her
  ― and telling her ALL THE TIME ! but she refuses to acknowledge it
  ― like they'll be doing the most random thing (like... cooking)
  ― and he'll casually be like. oh yeah, dulhee? did you know i really like you. wanna date?
  - (now he just flirts with her to tease her and be fucking MEAN)
  ― so now she gets super flustered and mad when he flirts
  ― they play piano duets together when they're bored
  ― at karaoke, they always win even though it's only dulhee singing
  ― she makes him buy her ice cream all the time
  ― dulhee hurts herself so much that taeyong always has a bandaid on hand

𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴:
  - literally happen ALL the TIME so nobody takes them seriously
  - always involves dulhee yelling at taeyong and taeyong insulting her in a calm voice
  - which makes her even MORE mad and leads to MORE YELLING like wow how productive
  - sometimes if dulhee is really mad she'll throw things at him and he'll be like "wow how mature"

𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴:

  - always yelling or arguing in some fashion. everyone is so DONE with their sexual tension and just want them to make up and fuck already. naturally, dulhee wants to kill each and every one of them that try to voice that opinion to her (needless to say a lot of her friends have gotten bitch slapped. often.)





          —— 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐓

𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥:
  - she might sort of be a bitch, but at least she's a loyal one
  - actually very in tune with other people's emotions, SUPER empathetic
  - knows when you need someone to talk to, but also when you need space
  - also super big plus: bonds with people by sharing music
  - she has really great music taste that's why its great sharing music w her

𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦:

𝘰𝘯-𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢:
  - the ACTUAL opposite! super sweet and nice and tolerate until taeyong is in the same shot as her and then... everything goes to absolute shit (it's viewers favorite time)

𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨:
  - funny story: it's actually because her grandmother was tired of her being pissy around the house and she signed her up without telling her; dulhee didn't even find out she was on the show until she showed up on the first day and they interviewed her and she was genuinely confused. she's still a bit pissed that she's on the show, and literally wants to die when she sees taeyong is on it too.





          —— 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐎-𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀

𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴:
  - taeyong being uncharacteristically nice when dulhee is sick and nursing her back to health (and she's too loopy to realize what he's doing)
  - taeyong showing up at her workplace because he's interning there or something ?
  - tbh just taeyong and dulhee arguing all the time (they don't even have to end up together as long as they FIGHT! i thrive off of conflict)
