he wants to be a parent and emotionally he sorta looked at it as making a choice, he chose Leia and that dark side convinced him that it meant actuallly cutting Dimitri out of his life in the literal sense, and he was kinda angry

Wouldn't he kill himself, worried if he may do that to his own kid or just suddenly realise he killed somebody who trusted and loved him enough to possibly call his lover
That in the end he became just like his parents if not even worse for killing somebody who loved him.
Cause even then his parents never hurt him and cared for him enough to love him in their own sick and twisted way. He went above and beyond that
