- As a long, clawed foot stepped into view on the staircase, Moonbrand appeared in a flash from the folds of Drew’s cloak. The sword struck the stone, severing the front half of the Wererat’s foot. Vorjavik tumbled, screaming ferociously, his war mattock flying into the window’s alcove. The hammerhead crashed into Drew’s studded leather breastplate, sending him back toward the open window. The Rat filled the staircase, his maimed foot spouting blood as he righted himself.
